"Hey, Jean! What're you waiting for?!" Conny yelled at Jean. "There's nothing I can do... They sounded retreat, but I'm out of gas and we can't make it up the wall. We're all going to die... All because of those cowards." Jean replied to Conny. "Are you talking about the Quartermasters? We're they wiped out or something?" Conny said to Jean.

"They lost the will to fight. Not that I blame them... Abandoned their duty to keep us supplied and locked themselves in at HQ. Now Titans are all over the place, and I can't refill my tank." "In that case, we have to take a chance and wipe out those Titans! It's better then wasting our time here. The Titans will be on us, too! Running away aimlessly will only deplete what precious little gas we have left! If we lose our mobility, we really will be doomed!" Conny yelled at Jean. Jean then looked up at Conny and said "That's unusually good thinking coming from you, Conny. But do you think we can really do that with our manpower? Our senior soldiers in the vanguard were almost totally wiped out. Who among us cadets could take over in the face of sure death? Even if someone could, we'd be helpless against the Titans... The gas refill facility is probably packed with three to four-- meter tall Titans. We couldn't get anything done in there." Jean said coldly.

"So it's hopeless?" Connie asked Jean. "*Sigh* Man this life sucks... Had I known, I should've told her..." Jean said while having his hand on the top of his head.

"Let's do this, everybody! Get up! If we all work together, I know we can succeed! I'll take the lead!" Sasha yelled out to everyone. But there was only silence around, no one spoke a word. Sasha looked down but then looked at yours and Armin's direction. She ran up to you both. "Armin, (Y/N), join us..." Sasha said but stopped when she saw Armin scarred face and you having you hands over your eyes. "Reiner, what do you say?" Annie asked to Reiner. "We wait. If we do it, we do it when we're all assembled." Reiner replied. "It's useless. No matter how you look at it...we'll be wiped out before we ever get out of this town. It's not that I wasn't ready to give my life..." Marco said while looking up. "But... What is it that I'm dying for?" Marco asked himself.

Mikasa then was running towards Annie. "Annie!" Mikasa called out to her. "Huh?" Annie replied. "I have a general grasp of the situation. Forgive me for asking something personal, but... Has anyone seen Eren's squad?" Mikasa asked. "I haven't, but several squads made it up the wall." Annie replied. "You might want to ask those two over there." Reiner said to Mikasa while pointing at you and Armin. Mikasa looked at the direction where Reiner was pointing and saw you two. "Armin! (Y/N)!" She called out to you both.

Your and Armin's eyes went wide when you heard Mikasa called your names out. 'Mikasa... I can't. I don't know how to face you. I survived for nothing. I should've... I should've died together with him... I have a feeling that (Y/N) might feel the same way...' Armin thought when he heard her voice calling out his name. "Armin, are you hurt? Are you okay?" Mikasa asked but Armin didn't respond to her. "(Y/N), what about you, are you ok?" Mikasa asked you while taking your hands out of your face. She saw that your face hand dry tears while having a disappointment look, and she got up. You looked up at her and she asked you a question which made you stop breathing "Where's Eren?" You didn't talk, but you had tears in your eyes once again and Armin spoke for you. Mikasa didn't need to be told since she had a feeling on what happened to Eren. "We... Cadets... of Squad 34... Thomas Wagner... Nack Tius... Millius Zerumski... Mina Carolina... Eren Yeager... These five... carried out their mission and put up a heroic fight!" Armin yelled out.

"No..." Sasha said quietly. "Squad 34 was decimated? That's what'll happen to us if we fight the Titans head-on." One of the Cadets said.

"I'm so sorry, Mikasa... Eren gave his life for us. I...couldn't do anything! I'm so sorry!" Armin said.

"Mikasa..." Mikasa looked down and saw you crying with your head down. "...I'm sorry Mikasa... I let you down... I said i would protect Eren for you... and I failed... I also blame myself for Eren's death... please forgive me Mikasa..." You said while keeping your head down.

Mikasa kneeled down and faced both of you with an emotionless look on her face.

"Armin...(Y/N)..." Mikasa said while placing each hand on yours and Armin's. You and Armin looked up at her with tears in both of your eyes.

"Calm down. This is no time be getting sentimental." Mikasa said to you both.

You and Armin were surprised by her response.

"C'mon, get up." She pulled you and Armin up and walked away. "Marco, if we get rid of the Titans gathered near headquarters, we could refill our gas tanks and everyone could make it up the wall. Isn't that right?" Mikasa said to Marco still walking forwards. "Yeah...you're correct. But even with your help, there are too many of them..." Marco said. "We can do this." Mikasa said to him. "Huh?" Marco gasped in confusion. "I am...strong! Stronger than all of you... Much stronger!" Mikasa said while pointing her blade up in the air. "I can scatter those Titans. Even if I have to do it myself... You guys are cowards and wusses...without fighting skills." She then pointed her blade forwards. "I feel sorry for you. Stay here and twiddle your thumbs... Watch me do this." Mikasa said to everyone.

"Now hold on, Mikasa! Why're you saying those things ?!" "You plan on taking on that many Titans by yourself?" "There's no way you could..." People were saying to her. "If I can't, I die. But if I win, I live. I can't win unless I fight. And you should know that too (Y/N)." Mikasa said while looking at you at the last part of her speech. You looked at her and wiped your tears off of your face.

Mikasa then jumped from the roof and started going after the Titans. 'Mikasa's right. I'm pathetic...if I plan to save humanity and find my father...then I need to stop moping around and kill as many Titans as I can!' You then ran after Mikasa ignoring everything around you. "Hey!" Everyone else soon started following you and Mikasa.

With Mikasa

You followed her and killed as many Titans as possible with her. You were fast and skilled. But you were too fast, you didn't notice that you were using too much gas, neither did Mikasa. But Mikasa was running low more then you so when all her gas was gone, she fell down. "Mikasa!" You yelled, you went after her. She was lying down while looking up as if her life ended just now.

"Mikasa!" You yelled while running to her. "Are you ok?" You said worried about her. She didn't respond at first but then she looked at you. "(Y/N)... Its happening...all over again. I lost family..." She then got up and landed on her knees. "Must I...remember this pain...and start all over again?" Mikasa said to you while looking at the ground. You were about to say something but interrupted by loud footsteps. You turned the other way and saw a Titan coming towards you and Mikasa. You gasped. "Mikasa, let's go there's a Titan here!" You say trying to move her from her spot. "Mikasa! Snap out of it, please!" You kept yelling her. She only ignored you and put away her blades.

'The world is cruel...and...very beautiful...' Mikasa thought referring to her memory of her, Eren, and you as kids. "It was a good life." Mikasa said to you. You growled at how she's acting right now and accepting death to come at her.

The Titan was about to grab her, until you grabbed your blade tight and sliced the Titans fingers before they can even touch Mikasa. You grabbed Mikasa and pushed her out of the way. She looked shocked of what you did. "(Y/N), why did you do that. I'd already given up... why are you-" Mikasa was interrupted by you slapping her across the face. "I'm sorry I did that but... You need to get ahold of yourself! You have to get up and pull out a fight!" You screamed at her.

"But for what purpose? There's no reason anymore...to go on living. Why are you making me..." Mikasa said while you and Mikasa were trying to run the opposite way of the Titan. Then when you both were about to run another Titan showed up and now you two were blocked both ways. 'Fight! Fight! Fight!' Mikasa had a small flashback of Eren saying she needed to fight. "Eren." Mikasa said. 'Fight! You've got to fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!' Mikasa kept thinking about him saying that one word and she broke into tears. "I'm sorry Eren, (Y/N). I won't give up anymore. I won't ever give up again. If I die...I won't be able to think about you both anymore. That's why...I have to win, no matter what! No matter what, I have to stay alive! We stay together (Y/N)!"

You nodded and go in position "Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!" You and Mikasa yelled ready to fight the Titans. You were about to launch yourself towards the Titan, but then you both were stopped when the Titan's, behind you both, foot stomped on the ground hard that made you and Mikasa jump up for a second, and saw that the Titan behind you both, punched the Titan in the face.

"What's happening?!" Mikasa said then you both looked up to see the Titan standing there glaring at the other Titan. The Titan ran forwards and roared loud. You and Mikasa covered your ears and closed your eyes. You both looked up still covering your ears and saw the Titan fighting another Titan. 'A Titan...killing...another Titan.' Mikasa and you thought to yourselves. You took away your hands from your ears and saw the Titan's face more clear. 'Is that...?' You thought to yourself.

With Armin~

Armin was looking for you both and hoping that you and Mikasa are ok. He then heard a roar and looked the way the roar came from. He then saw you and Mikasa sitting on your knees. 'Mikasa! (Y/N)!' Armin thought to himself.

He then went towards you both and carried you both up to a roof. "Mikasa, (Y/N), you both aren't hurt?" Armin asked then Connie came and landed where you three were. "You three ok?" Connie asked. "Yeah." Armin answered him.

"We have to move! Damn two 15-meter ones!" Connie said. "No, that one is..." Mikasa trailed off. Armin looked the other way and saw the skeleton of a Titan. He was shocked and scared. The four of you saw the Titan get into fighting position, which shocked all of you. The Titan ran towards him and he punched his head off all the way to the clock tower. The body fell down and the fighting Titan was waiting fir his hand to regenerate. The body was slowly getting up and the fighting Titan raised his foot up and stomped on the body's neck to kill it. "D-Did it just strike a finishing blow? Did it strike knowing that that spot is vulnerable?" Armin said in complete shock. "Never mind! We have to move before that one heads this way." Connie said to Armin. "No. That one shows no response to us at all. It could've attacked us a long time ago." Armin replied to Connie.

"I sensed that it knew martial arts...What the hell is that?" Mikasa said. "You just called it a "unique variant"! We know so little about them. Anyway, we have to hurry to HQ." Connie said to Mikasa. He was walking away but was stopped by Armin. "Wait! Mikasa's completely out of gas." Armin said to Connie. "Huh? Are you serious?! How're we gonna manage without you?" Connie asked Mikasa. "There's only one thing to do! But I don't have much in mine either. We need to swap these quickly." Armin said switching his gas with Mikasa's. "Armin!" Mikasa said. "It's the only way! It doesn't do any good on me. But... This time, use it carefully... to save everyone." Armin said. 'I...took the lead, though I wasn't prepared to take responsibility for everyone's lives. And I almost gave up on my life because I didn't feel that responsibility... For my own selfish reasons...I...' Mikasa trailed off in her mind. "Done. The maneuvering device is still working! I added a full blade complement! Just... Leave this one here, though. The last thing I want is to be eaten alive." Armin said while holding on to the blade. You grabbed it and threw it the other way. "W-Why...? Armin. "We won't leave you here." You say to him. 'Earlier... What I saw completely baffled me. A Titan killing a Titan was unheard of. I felt a slight excitement...Because what I saw...appeared like the manifest anger of humankind...' You thought while thinking about the fighting Titan.
