Third Pov.

     "Hey you!" The commandant said to Armin. Armin got in position to greet himself to the commander. "Sir!" Armin said. "Who the hell are you?!" "Armin Arlelt, from Shiganshina District!" Armin replied. "I see! That's a ridiculous name! Did your parents give it to you?!" "My grandfather did, Sir" "Arlelt! Why are you here?!" "To help humanity achieve victory!" Armin yelled with his eyes closed. "That's wonderful to hear! We can feed you to the Titans!" The commandant said to Armin then grabbed his head and turned him around and said to him "Third row, about face!"

     "Who the hell are you?!" "Sir! Thomas Wagner, from Trost District!" "I can't here you!" "Thomas Wagner--" "Can't here you!" --"Look at them go." --"Go practice at a barn!" "You went through the same thing when you started as a cadet, didn't you?" "It takes me back." The two soldiers talked in the background.

     "No! You're from the pigsty! You're less than livestock!" The commandant said to Mina. "Yes, Sir! I am less than livestock!" "No!-" You kept looking straight and her some things of what the two soldiers are saying to each other, only until they walked further away from you.

     "Who the hell are you?!" "Jean Kirschtein, from Trost District!" "Why are you here?!" "To join the Military Police Regiment and live in the interior!" "Oh. You wanna live in the interior, do you?" "Yes." Jean said, then the commandant hit Jean that caused him to fall to the ground. "Who said you could sit?! If you can't handle this, you can forget about the Military Police!" The commandant said then walked to someone else.

     "Who the hell are you?! Why are you here?!" "Marco Bodt of Jinae, on the south side of Wall Rose! I want to join the Military Police Regiment and give life and limb to the king!" "I see. This a fine goal, indeed. Go ahead and strive for it. But, just so you know... The king doesn't want your lousy life or limbs." The commandant said scaring Marco.

     "Your next! Who the hell are you?!" "Conny Springer! I'm from Ragako Village on the south side of Wall Rose!" You noticed that Conny had the greeting position backwards. Conny then got picked up from the commandant by the sides of his head. "You have it backwards, Conny Springer! It was the first thing you were taught! This salute expresses your resolve to give your heart to the people! Is your heart on the right side?!"

     Then for some reason, a girl with light brown hair, in a ponytail, with some hair next to her ears, was randomly eating a potato. 'What the hell is she doing?!' You thought to yourself, thinking she's insane. "Hey you. What do you think you're doing?" The commandant said to her. She then looked left and right to see if he was talking to someone else, besides her. She then took another bite and the commandant screamed at her "I'm talking to you! Who the hell are you?!" She quickly finished her bite of the potato, swallowed it quickly, and greeted herself to the commandant "Sasha Braus from Dauper Village, on the south side of Wall Rose!" "Sasha Braus... What is that your holding in your right hand?" "A steamed potato, Sir! I found in the cookhouse that was ready to eat, so I couldn't help myself!" "You stole it. Why? Why did you decide to eat it now?" "I felt it would be a waste to let it get cold, so I elected to eat it now." "No, I don't understand. Why did you eat the potato?" "Are you asking me why people eat potatoes, Sir?" Sasha said. Everyone looking at her shocked of what she's saying to the commandant. 'She should at least eat it when the commandant isn't looking.' You thought to yourself. Sasha then broke the potato into two and gave one to the commandant. "Here's half of it for you." She said to him. The commandant looked shocked of what she just did. "Half...?" He replied. She gave him a smile.

Time Skip~

     "Whoa. He still has Potato Girl running. Man, she's been at it for five solid hours. She's really something. Still, being told to run until she's on the verge to death didn't seem to bother her quite as much as being told to she has to skip meals." Eren said. "Dauper's a small hunting village in the mountains, isn't it?" Conny said. You then noticed something in the distance. "Hmm? What's that?" "They're the dropouts. They asked to work in the fields instead." Mina said to you. "Whoa. It's only the fist day, too..." Armin said. "That's how it is. If you can't cut it here, you have to leave." You heard Eren said. You turned your attention on him. "I can't believe anyone would want to pick up rocks and pull plants again..." Eren said. "Come to think of it, we haven't heard anything about where you're from." "I'm from Shiganshina, same as these two." Eren said while placing each of his hands on yours and Armin's shoulder. Everyone was surprised by were you three are from. "Oh. That means..." Marco said. "You were there that day, weren't you?" Conny said. "H-Hey." Marco said to Conny. "Did you see the Colossal Titan?!" "Y-Yeah..." Eren answered.

Time Skip~

     "Yes, I saw it." Eren said while eating his soup. Everyone gasped at Eren. "Really?!" "How big is it?!" One guy asked. "Enough to look over the wall." "What?! I heard it stepped over the wall!" "Me too." "That's what they said in my village too!" People kept saying to Eren. "No, it wasn't that big." "What did it look like?!" Mina asked. "It had a huge mouth, and almost no skin." Eren replied to her. "What about the Armored Titan that broke Wall Maria?!" "That's what people call it, but it looked like an ordinary Titan to me." Eren said. "Th-Then, what are ordinary Titans like?!" One guy asked.

     Eren then thought about his mom's death, dropped his spoon and put his hand over his mouth. You heard the question and looked over to Eren.

     "Let's spare him the questions, everyone. I'm sure there are things he doesn't want to remember." Marco said. "Sorry for asking-" Conny said but was cut off my Eren. "It's not like that!" Everyone was shocked by Eren's little outburst.

     Eren took a bite out of his bread and spoke "Titans aren't actually that big of a deal! Once I mastered omni-directional mobility gear, they'll be nothing to us! We finally get to train as soldiers. I was just overcome with emotion, that's all. I'm going to join the Scout Regiment and drive the Titans out of this world! I'm gonna slaughter them!"

     "Whoa, what are you, crazy?" Jean said to him. Eren turned right to glare at Jean for calling him crazy. "Did you just say you're gonna join the Scout Regiment?" Jean asked Eren. "Yeah, that's right. Aren't you the one who wants to join the Military Police and love the easy life?" Eren asked Jean. "I'm all about being honest, you see. It's much nicer than being, say, a loser who acts tough but is actually scared shitless." Jean said to Eren. Eren stood up and said "Are you talking about me?!" Eren said to Jean. "S-Stop...!" Someone says. "Come on, now. It makes no difference to me." Jean said while getting up. They both walked towards each other just stared at each other, until the bell rang. 'For a second there I thought things were about to get ugly between them.' You thought to yourself.

     "Look, I'm sorry. I don't mean to dismiss your ideas. Let's be friends." Jean said while putting a hand out to Eren. "Yeah, I'm sorry too." Eren said and slapping Jean's hand away. Eren then walked away from him. You and Mikasa got up and followed Eren. Jean saw you and Mikasa walk by, he was stunned by how beautiful you two were. "H-Hey, you two!" You both heard Jean said and turned your head to look at him. He blushed and said "Uhh, err, umm... I've just never seen anyone who looks like you two before... S-Sorry!" Mikasa didn't seem interested but she nodded her head and walked away. You were about to leave but Jean grabbed your hand before you can leave. You turned to him and just see him blush and say to you "I just wanted to say... You look very pretty." You blushed a bit of what he said about you. "Th-Thank you." You stutter while walking away. Jean saw your reaction and saw you walk away. He eventually snapped out of it and ran towards you. He looked around to see if you were still in sight.

     You were walking with Eren and Mikasa "It's no big deal. Get off my back." Eren said to Mikasa. "You never think things through when you get worked up." Mikasa said to Eren. "That again. Anyway, don't you think your hair's too long? It could cause an accident during ODM training, you know." Eren said to Mikasa. "Alright, I'll cut it. But how short should I make it?" Mikasa said to Eren.

     Jean then wiped his hand on the back of Conny's shirt. "H-Hey! Don't mess with other people's clothes! What did you wipe on me?!" Conny said to Jean. "My trust in others..." Jean said to Conny.

Skip To Morning~

     "We'll begin by determining your aptitude! If you can't do this, you're not even fit to be bait! You'll be set off to the fields!" The Commandant said to everyone. You were on the Omani-directional mobility gear and you struggled a bit, but managed to stay still. When you looked around to see how everyone else was doing, you saw Mikasa completely still and looking like its no big deal for her. You saw Sasha, Conny, and Jean do good too. But when you spotted Eren, he was completely upside down, and he wasn't happy.

     "What are you doing, Eren Jaeger?! Straighten yourself up!" The Commandant said to him. 'What the...?! How do I work this thing?! This can't be for real...' Eren thought to himself.

Later That Day~

     "Just follow the basics and you'll be able to do it. Don't think about being fancy or anything. Focus on your front and back balance, then slowly place your weight into the belts on your waist and feet." Mikasa told Eren. "You can do it if you stay calm. Even I did it, after all." Armin said to Eren.

     "All right. I feel like I've got it this time. Lift me up, Armin." Eren said to him. Armin nodded in agreement and started lifting up Eren with the machine. Eren then was lifted off the The ground and he tried to focus on his balance. He struggled and he fell down and hit his head on the ground hard. "Eren!" You said and quickly go up to Eren and started helping him. Mikasa and Armin got Eren out of the gear and helped him up to his feet. Armin and Mikasa carried Eren to his room and you started patching him up. Once he was better, we all went to go eat.

Time Skip~

     "Hey, Daz. Isn't he the one who said he was gonna slaughter all the Titans yesterday?" "I guess it's off to the fields for him tomorrow." "Yeah, we can't afford to feed the useless." You heard people talking about Eren going to the fields of he doesn't know how to use the equipment.

     "Eren." Mikasa said to Eren, scaring him for a second there. "There's no point worrying about it." Armin said. "Yeah, Armin's right, you can just learn to do it tomorrow." You said to Eren. "(Y/N), I'm pathetic... There's no way I can wipe them out like this..." Eren said to you. "You should just forget about that altogether." Mikasa said to Eren. "What?!" Eren said. "M-Mikasa?! What are saying?" You said surprised at her words. "I'm saying you should give up trying to be a soldier. Fighting isn't about simply throwing your life away." Mikasa answering your question. "Hey, now! I saw what happened that day! Do you really think you can just convince me to quit?!" Eren said to Mikasa. "Still, it doesn't matter how determined you are." Mikasa said. "Huh? Why not?!" Eren said. "Because you don't get to decide if you're fit to be a soldier or not." Mikasa said to Eren. The bell rang and everyone was leaving the room. "Let's go Armin and (Y/N)." Eren said to you two. You just stayed back because you didn't want to leave Mikasa alone. "I'm not saying you should return...to the fields by yourself." "Y-Yeah." Armin said to Eren. "You don't need to worry. Because when you go, I'll go with you." Mikasa said turning to the right seeing Sasha instead of Eren.

     "So, umm... What you're saying is...that I can have that?" Sasha said pointing to Mikasa's piece of bread. Mikasa picked it up and Sasha was about to take it, but Mikasa put it in her mouth and started eating it. Sasha wasn't to happy. You then broke your bread in half and gave it to her. "Here." You said to Sasha. She quickly took it from your hands and started devouring it.

The Next Morning~

     It was morning and you hope Eren will do better this time. 'I know you can do it Eren.' You thought to yourself supporting him. Eren was on the equipment and with a stern look on his face. "Eren Jaeger. Are you ready?" The Commandant said to Eren. "Yes, Sir!" Eren replied. 'I'm going to do it! I am! I might not have raw aptitude, but no one has more guts than I do!' Eren thought to himself. "Begin!" The Commandant said.

     Eren was then carried off the ground and he was finding his balence. 'The hell with logic! I know its completely baseless, but guys are all I got! They're...my weapon!' Eren thought to himself while balancing on the equipment. Everyone was proud of Eren for balancing on the equipment correctly. "Yes!" You cheered out to Eren. 'I knew it!' You thought to yourself. 'I did it! I'm doing it!' Eren thought, but he fell backwards. You gasped along with everyone around you.

     "N-Not yet! I can still do it!" Eren said still not giving up. "Let him down." The Commandant said. 'Is he...' You thought while covering your mouth with both of your hands in shock. Eren was terrified that he still failed. "I-I'm...!" "Wagner. Switch belts with Jaeger." The Commandant said. "Y-Yes Sir!" He replied quickly. "Huh?" You said confused. Eren was then switched with his and Eren was perfectly balanced. "Your equipment was defective. The belt you were using had a broken clasp. I've never heard of this part breaking before; I guess I'll have to add it to the maintenance checklist." The Commandant said to Eren.

     "Then, even with broken equipment, he still managed to...?!" "Whoa." You heard people say. "Th-Then, am I fit to be a soldier?!" Eren asked the Commandant. "You pass muster. Train hard!" The Commandant replied. 'I did it! I did it!' Eren thought to himself while raising his arms in the air in victory.

     'Whadya think of that, Mikasa?! I can do it! I can fight the Titans! You can finally stop mollycoddling me! And even better I can protect (Y/N), she's also very important to me.'Eren thought to himself while blushing a little.

     "Looks like things worked out for him. Right Armin? Right Mikasa?" You said to them with a smile. Mikasa didn't answer you. "Yeah (Y/N), I mean look. His eyes say, "What do you think of that?!"" Armin said to you. "No. He feels relieved that he doesn't have to leave me now." Mikasa said. Everyone just looked at her. 'Grisha... Today, your son has become a soldier.' The Commandant thought to himself.

Later that day~

     You were all using the equipment, and you felt amazing! You feel powerful and free. 'Now that I know how to use this, I'll wipe out any Titan in my way, and I'll find my dad in no time!' You thought to yourself.
