Ch 2~ Reality in an Anime. Part 2.
Continuation of the last chapter. Not really a lot to say, but please listen to this short notice.
Most of you will probably know this since I'm estimating that most of you readers are probably older then me, but in the beginning-its not that exciting.
For writers, its quite hard to develop the story from the beginning. So what I mean by all this in short form is that don't expect the beginning of this story to be great-in fact, expect it to be kind of lame and sappy.
I'm trusting and hoping that in the future, once the story hits the main storyline that it will become much more interesting. I do hope you have enough patience to wait until then.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy this chapter~

"Its not that I don't want to trust you...its just that I fear you'll change how you look at me once you see what I'm really like...Once you see what kind of person I truly am."
"So I'll put up a facade until you become someone perhaps I can see differently."
- Raizel Di Kaliastrine

"Sei, I don't want to do this knife throwing practice anymore." A 5-year old child with soft black hair and deep ocean blue eyes stared at the taller floating figure with a white hood hiding his face.
The taller figure got a red anime-like irked mark on his forehead. "I TOLD YOU TO CALL ME MASTER!"
The small child shook his head, his face void of expressions. "Its easier calling you Sei. Its short for 'Sensei' and it sound cute." The boy smiled slightly at the end.
"..."
The boy continued smiling ever so slightly.
"...You are going to be a heartbreaker in the future. I can feel it. Even the great I can't say no to your smile. DAMN IT! When I get back to headquarters I'm going to complain about giving a FREAKIN' Child the Bishonen gift. And the latest one too!"
The said boy took a piece of hair and gently let it slip out of his hand. "I was thinking that it was softer then necessary...and for some reason whenever I fall into mud or a puddle it never gets dirty.."
"ALL PART OF THE DAMN BISHONEN GIFT! Well, it might cause some suspicion so you should be careful, Raizel Di Kaliastrine."
"..." The boy became quiet. "Raizel Di Kaliastrine...why did you choose such a lame name? 'Raizel' is fine, and I get where the 'Di' comes from, but the 'Kaliastine' is kind of lame."
"SHUT UP! Do you know how hard it is the come up with a Shingeki-no-kyojin-like last name?! I can do Japanese, but coming up with a name that is a mixture of english, french, and german is damn hard! That Hajime Isayama is a genius. How he came up with names like 'Ackerman,' 'Leonhart,' and, 'Jeager' is completely beyond me."
"....it doesn't change the fact that is still kind of lame."
"Ugh! Your just like those old geezers at headquarters! Just more cuter! And less old."
"And shouldn't I get some sleep?" Raizel asked as he looked around him. All that surrounded them was nothing. Absolutely nothing. It appeared that they were in some kind of void of space where they were also standing on nothing.
"I suppose I should have explained before, we are basically on a mind training ground. When you go to sleep, you appear here where the great me trains you. I decide when you go to sleep if you really need some kind of rest. But in reality, when you train here you are still technically sleeping. Any skills you learn here will be remembered perfectly by your body once you wake up, and your body will be well rested as if you had a full night of sleep even if you were mentally training the entire night."
"Okay. Now can I do something else? I don't want to do knife throwing practice anymore." The boy asked selfishly despite his face now void of emotions.
Sei's eyes twitched (A/N: I'm going to refer him as 'Sei' now.). "You little selfish brat...You haven't perfected it so NO!"
FLING! FLING! FLING!
Three small knives were on the target that was 15 meters away. Raizel was still looking at his instructor, not really caring that he just performed a three knife bullseye without looking.
"..."
"I mastered it. But I know I haven't perfected it yet. However, I believe that this level is enough for now, I'll still practice regularly, but I think its time to move onto something with a little bit of a more difficult level. Don't you agree, Sen-Sei~?"
Sei could just see the small devil wings and horn that sprouted and the supposed 'angel'-looking boy.
He raised a finger and opened his mouth for the beginning of his mighty protest-
"And please don't embarrass yourself further by talking back when your going to get owned. May I learn archery next?"
"..."
A bow and a arrow appeared out of nowhere. "I'll get you back someday. Brat."
"Of course. Someday." The brat smiled a small close-eyed smile that hid his deep ocean blue eyes which were probably twinkling with amusement and wisdom a small child shouldn't possess.
'This brat is going to drive this world into further chaos then its already in...And I can't wait till that time comes. Oh God, I am so going to look forward to the characters reactions..' Sei thought with a small smirk that held certain fondness that was slowly growing with each moment.

"We are not Demons or Gods. We are humans. Human beings are strong because we have the ability to change ourselves."
"But humans can only take so much..."
- Raizel Di Kaliastrine
~O~O~O~O~O~O~O~O~O~
Blue eyes blinked as they opened.
Rising up gently, Raizel felt slight strain in his back for sleeping on the floor. It couldn't be helped though, no many people in the undergrounds have the luxury to own a bed. A clean one at that.
Raizel opened and closed his hands, the blisters from last nights archery training there on his hands, stinging ever so slightly.
'Its been about 5 years ever since I was reincarnated.' Raizel thought nonchalantly. When he woke up 5 years ago, he knew what was happening, hearing the old people speak while giving him supposed 'gifts.'
His mentor, Sei, as he liked to call him was his guardian. While Raizel would never admit it, he had grew to respect and somewhat admire his mentor. Sei was someone who, though quite childish, selfish, annoying, and somewhat bratty, was exceptionally quite wise. Though that may be because of some past expedience or something else. Despite seeing his mentor almost 24/7, he knew little to none about him.
Not that it bothered him that much, he respected secrets--Most of the time, either that or he really could care less if it didn't involve him.
SNAP
His ears pricked when a sharp sound was detected. As sly as a snake, Raizel crept to the entrance of the broken down house and peered through the window next to the entrance and narrowed his eyes.
Three large men were in front of the door, armed with bats, crowbars, guns, and possibly hidden knives.
It was probably early sunrise now, well, you can't really tell since its always dark in the Underground world. In any case, his mother was sleeping at the moment.
Yes, he had a mother. No, father. But that was probably because his mother...was a prostitute. Women who work in brothels and give up there body for money.
While most scorn those kinds of people, Raizel respected his mother highly. She probably didn't want to be a prostitute anyway, you could tell by the slight depressed face she possesses when she comes back home, or the fearful and ashamed aura she releases whenever she leaves.
Raizel never questions the smell or why she was gone for hours or days, he just made sure that when she came home that they're was a warm dinner, clean water, and a clean bed.
Surprisingly, she never questioned where Raizel got these things. But, he assumed it was because she was too depressed when she comes back to even notice.
Getting clean water, a warm dinner, and a clean bed wasn't easy at first, but with the 21st century knowledge and his gifts he managed. And he got fairly good at it.
Well, usually Raizel wouldn't go to such lengths for a random women stranger, and while he wasn't attached to his mother like a normal child would be, he still felt like there was some kind of bond. Well that was expected, she was technically his mother after all. That and he had good instincts. Raizel also expected that if he ever came upon his jerk of a father, whoever he is and if he's still alive, then Raizel would be able to sense that family bond.
Raizel could always grow a more mother-and-son like bond with his mother; besides all the hardships she's facing, she always was the most happiest with him (he's not trying to brag), and she is surprisingly very kind (She brought so many stray cats...), also she didn't abandon him. That's an important fact. Most prostitutes in this world usually abandon they're child or worse, kill it.
Cruel world, indeed. It makes Raizel wonder why humans were so obsessed with overcoming the titans when they don't realise the most dangerous enemies are humans themselves.
Humans are such scary creatures...perhaps that's why the God's decided to punish them with titans.
CLICK.
'Tch.' Raizel snapped out of thought, the three men were trying to pick the lock. Raizel could bet his psychic-powers-in-training that these men were after one thing.
His mother.
Putting a dirty paper bag with eye holes over his head(knowing it won't get his hair dirty because of his 'bishonen' gift) he looked through the window carefully, luckily the 3 bastards were still focused on there lock-picking.
Looking at the house across the street, he focused on the roof. His eyes narrowed as a visible drop of sweat was on his forehead. Then in an instant he teleported on the roof.
Raizel almost fell on his knees as he swayed slightly. He didn't master the art of teleporting which was in the psychic power package. And honestly, if possible, he would like to use it as little as possible. It was mentally quite painful.
Taking deep breathes to steady himself, he stood up and silently and got out small throwing knives that were hidden in his boots (yes, he has shoes. Lots of people in the Underground don't.)
Despite his tired mind he smirked a smirk that would send shivers up titans spine.
In his mind, he could mentally hear his mentor shouting, 'Yay! Show-off badass moment! Oh, I love these scenes.' And was that popcorn he smelt?
"Neh, isn't it a little early for bastards like you to be creeping around?" Raizel said in a nonchalant yet teasing voice (A/N: Think about Karma Akabane from Assassination Classroom)
The three men turned around. "Damn it! We were spotted!"
"Wait, its just a brat! Kill him!"
"On it."
BANG!
Raizel didn't even blink as a bullet passed him. A coy smile slowly grew on his lips. "You have quite a bad aim, Mr. Kidnapper. Unfortunately..."
Raizel raised his knives which were between his fingers, they gleamed at what little light that fell from above. Wind suddenly came out of nowhere as it blew the paper bag off.
The thugs were greeted with a sight that would plague them even after death, a small boy with black hair that flowed gently against the wind like black flames, deathly pale white skin that seemed to glow in the dark. And finally, deep ocean blue eyes no human should possess staring at them with silent fury despite his emotionless face.
"...My aim never misses."
PLING! PLING! PLING!
Red blood trickled down the thugs mouth as they stared in growing horror at the knives that were sticking through they're throats.
The deadly figure before them put his arm down and stared at them with bored eyes as if they were nothing but useless trash.
"You should be grateful. My mother would be waking up soon, so I have to give you a quick death to dispose your filthy corpses before she does wake."
The thugs fell on they're knees as Raizel jumped down from the roof and landed before them.
"My mother doesn't belong to you. But thank you for your donation of weapons. I'm sure they will come to aid for me in the future." The blue eyed boy smiled sweetly at the end.
But both the thugs and him know that his smile was anything but sweet.
It was deadly.

"Perhaps, in a perfect world, we wouldn't be the antagonist and protagonist of this story. You are important to me, dear to me. But for every hero to shine, a devil is needed."
- Raizel Di Kaliastrine.

"Here's your breakfast, Mother." Raizel said as he calmly placed a sandwich in front of his mother. "I apologize that I couldn't find any soft bread, so the bread might taste a little stale."
"I'm sure anything you make is delicious like always."
The mother and son ate in silence.
"Raizel, dear." His mother broke the silence.
"Yes, mother?"
"Was there any commotion in the morning? I thought I heard a gunshot."
Raizel smiled a sweet smile. "I'm sure it was nothing big, Mother, gunshots happen all the time here."
"Yes...that is true." His mother said releasing a slightly dark sigh. She shot a fearful glance at the door when she thought I wasn't looking.
"Thank you for the delightful breakfast, dear. I'll be going to my new job now. Be careful of strangers, and hide in the basement if anyone comes."
"Yes, mother."
She left.
Raizel looked up at the ceiling and sighed deeply as he thought back to what his sensei had said early in his new life.
"Do not get attached to your new mother too much brat." The blue eyed boy looked up to stare at his mentor, while his mentor continued.
"The fate of the underground is harsh, and it is likely your mother will not survive. She will also likely be targeted."
"I can protect her. This world I now live in is reality. Isn't she a real human in this world?" Raizel argued without looking at his mentor.
Sei sighed. "She is not a real citizen. She is merely a lost spirit that was sent here for the purpose of your birth. And is the proof that you exist in this world. Even if no one killed her, a spirit can not maintain a physical human form for long. She may not know that she is a spirit, and perhaps it is better this way. Being killed is much less painful then turning back into a spirit.
"...How long does she have left?" The blue-eyed boy asked, pausing only for a moment before continuing his knife throwing practice.
"She will turn back into a spirit on your 6th birthday."
FLING.
The knife missed.
"I do not want such a fate for her either, so on the day she is fated to be killed, there are other things I set to put things in motion. Any other questions?"
"...is she targeted because of me?"
"...Yes. Because you were gifted with the gift of angelic beauty. Your mother was given the same. As you probably already found out, she quit being a prostitute for your sake. However, her beauty attracts. Its likely that her former boss and clients will not be happy with this outcome."
"I shall protect her till the fated day. And help ease her life as much as I can. Its the least I can do for all she has done."
"She is merely an lost spirit. Having a chance to be in human form is a legendary gift itself."
"Perhaps. But being such a kind mother even though all her stress is special. Even for a lost spirit who doesn't have any memories."
Sei sighed. "Be careful Rai, you shouldn't be attached to people, especially in a world like this."
Raizel merely smiled a small smile as he stared at his knife. "I already experienced death, once you do, you are not afraid. Its a strange feeling. Perhaps, now I have another chance I do not want to do something I would regret."
Raizel stared at the entrance where his mother just was with unreadable eyes. He sighed, as he turned his head back to his abandoned sandwich.
"Living a life where I have no regrets...huh....I wonder if such a thing is possible..."
~O~O~O~O~O~O~O~O~O~
"If you want to call it change then it was necessary, I didn't change because I experienced something. I changed because I realized my view of the world was incorrect. I'm merely angling it so that it would be correct in my eyes before someone else comes to change it."
- Raizel Di Kaliastrine

A/N: To be honest, I find this a little bit of a sappy chapter. Cross fingers for the next chapter to be less sappy.

See you next illusion~
