(A/N: This is after the attack on Trost and between the time of their gear being inspected and Eren being tried for his actions in Trost, so this is a way to make a certain relationship official.

~Elias POV~

After helping with sorting out the bodies and laying them to rest, I had to see if Mikasa was up for the both of us spending time together.

I did say we should after the mission in Trost and whatnot so the timing happened to work out for us, but the problem was that I had trouble finding her in Sina.

Then, I heard a voice behind me.

?????: Elias.

I looked at her as she was still smiling after all of what we had to go through, which really surprised me since she rarely shows any emotion, and strong from the slap she had to give me after cheating death against a Titan at one point during the battle.

Mikasa: We did it.

I smiled before I said this...

Elias: Yeah, we did. The hole is sealed up and we made history, thanks to everyone who sacrificed their lives and to Eren's capability.

We hugged as Mikasa seemed to feel so happy about everything we've done. We've taken back Trost as this is the first step to taking back our home, which I'm all for.

Not only that, I'm 5' 10" and she's 5' 7"...

...so the fact that she's slightly shorter than me is just so funny to know.

I looked to walk away, but I just remembered that wanted to ask Mikasa if she was still up for me taking her out.

I walked back over to where she was and I had to shoot my shot. If I didn't, I would've lost the chance.

So, here it comes.

Elias: Hey, uh, Mikasa?

Mikasa: Yeah?

Elias: How about you and I, hang a bit? Go somewhere?

She smiled at me and said...

Mikasa: I would love that.

Elias: Let's go then.

We started to walk towards some buildings on Trost, just trying to get to the top of one so we can look down below and have some fun with each other's company.

Mikasa: You know, I don't think we ever got to have some time to ourselves.

Elias: You think so?

Mikasa: Yeah. Ever since we were young, we had to take care of Eren and keep him safe without Mrs. Jaeger being around.

Elias: That is true. I mean, Eren is just trying to make us separate.

Mikasa: That's true. Even I was thinking about falling in love with him.

Elias: Seriously?!

Mikasa: No. Just messing with you.

Elias: Ha ha. Very funny.

She giggled a bit, but I thought that was adorable, considering that she really is.

Elias: Anyway, since we never got to have fun, how about have a race up towards that building right there?

Mikasa: Okay, sure.

Elias: I'll let you get a head start.

Mikasa: Oh, I feel fine, thank you.

Elias: Are you sure about that?

I poked her cheek a few times until she playfully swatted it away and laughed.

I mean, these are one of the few things why I find her so adorable. Her beautiful smile, her kindness, her caring attitude, her looks, she's basically everything a guy could want in a girl and I have no idea if she realizes it.

If she's that insecure about herself, then I'll be the guy to convince her that she is beautiful in my eyes, not Shitstain's, I mean, Jean's eyes.

Mikasa: Okay, let's race up there!

We got into our positions and looked to run up there, but...

Mikasa: Ready, GO!

She went off before I could!

Elias: No fair!

Mikasa: You said I could get a head start! Come on!

We both started jogging as we both laughed.

I mean, she was faster than me, but only because the soldiers are known for being acrobatic and flexible, but Mikasa is on a different level, even I don't think I can match up to her.

I mean, it was a race and I had to beat her if I can.

When I saw that Mikasa finally won by standing on the top of the building, she laughed at me for being slow, which I can agree on.

Mikasa: I win!

Elias: It's not fair, you cheated!

In a sarcastic tone, her jaw dropped, her hand over her heart, saying in a sarcastic voice, as if she's being innocent when she's clearly the hell not...

Mikasa(sarcastic): Oh! I did no such thing!

We both continued to laugh as we both sat down near the ledge of the building.

Elias: Oh, man.

Mikasa: It's pretty up here, isn't it?

Elias: Yeah, regardless of the Titan crap on the road.

But then, she hit me with it.

Mikasa: Elias?

Elias: Yeah?

Mikasa: What made you decide to join the Scouts?

Elias: Like I said many times, just to honor my dad's memory and to keep Eren safe.

Mikasa: No. There's something more than that. What makes you fight every chance you get?

I couldn't deny it anymore and I had to let mikasa know about this. I mean, my love for her is taking over and I don't know if I can take it anymore.

I never got to confess to her thanks to the Collosus Titan destroying the gate, forcing us to fight back until Eren plugged up the wall with the boulder.

Now that everything has been done, the civilians are coming back in their homes soon and are safe now.

Elias: It has to do with you.

Mikasa: Me?

Elias: Yeah.

I then had to explain it to her more, but she already beat me to it.

Mikasa: Is it okay if I go first though?

Elias: Of course. Ladies go first anyway.

Mikasa: Elias, when we first met, you were one of the most kindest boys I think I've ever met. We would hang out during our chores all the time, being the best of friends, and just having fun, but for some time now, I started to have feelings for you.

She's confessing and I'm all for it, but little does she know that I have feelings for her too.

Mikasa: When you stood up for Armin against those bullies, I actually didn't want you to, knowing how dangerous they were, even though it was mainly you and I, but looking back on it now, I realized how caring and how loyal you are as a person, and you saying that you protecting us made me feel like I didn't deserve you, but I do.

She started tearing up as I gave her my bandanna, letting her clear up her tears, like a gentleman would do.

Mikasa: Thank you. I'm sorry if I'm being a bit emotional.

Elias: It's okay. Take your time.

Mikasa: Now that I'm here with you, I can finally say it. And I will say it because I can't hold it in anymore. Elias Heinrich, I love you.

I wasn't actually shocked, considering that she always gave me signs and a few kisses on the cheek here and there, but I never would've thought she had feelings for me before I could.

I mean, I've known her for years, and I did have feelings for her then and I still do to this day. So I asked again, just to know if she really does love me. To me, it's better to be aware than be unaware as common sense is uncommon these days.

Elias: You love me?

Mikasa: No, Elias. I truly, deeply, love you.

I kept looking into her eyes and we moved our heads forward slowly. When we got closer, we closed our eyes.

And then...

Silence.

I opened my eyes to see that I was kissing my best friend, Mikasa Ackerman, who I've grown up with.

I then closed my eyes again to kiss her even more than I was doing right now.

We hugged and kissed even more as it was just us, letting the love for each other get into our heads. I couldn't help feeling so happy to be with her after all this time.

When we finally released, I told her this...

Elias: Mikasa, let me be plain: there are times where I think about you. I really didn't want to believe because of how kind, caring, loyal, and how beautiful you are, but I do.

She had some redness on her cheeks as I kept going.

Elias: It's really hard to describe it as whenever I see you, my heart flutters. I don't know if you can understand how I feel because, I don't know if you feel the same, but I can't keep it in anymore.

I had to say the three words that I've been yearning to say to her after the first time I saw her and how I met her when we were kids ourselves.

Elias: Mikasa Ackerman, I love you too.

She was still tearing up as it was not what as she kissed me again, but this time, it was only thirty seconds before she released, looking directly into my eyes.

Mikasa: I couldn't get enough of how loyal you are to everyone, how kind you are, how caring you are, even if you have to bust some skulls.

I chuckled a bit, but she said it once more:

Mikasa: Elias, I have to say that I love you too.

We kissed once more as it was official, Mikasa and I are in love. This isn't like the childhood crush or young love in high school or whatever, this was real, and I'm all for it.

I couldn't believe it was just a matter of time before Mikasa and I confessed and we are together, but I'm happy to be with her.

We released again as we looked out over the district, where it was the night already.

Mikasa: You want to bring the news to everyone?

Elias: No. We should keep it from everyone. I really wanted to keep it a secret until the time is right.

Mikasa: Does anyone else know?

Elias: It's possible that Shitstain, I mean Jean...

She actually laughed at the nickname I gave Jean. Like I said, it's very rare that Mikasa shows some sort of emotion, especially laughter since she's not the kind of girl to laugh out loud, but if she's willing to show more of this side around me, I'm all for it.

Elias: It's possible he knows about my love for you, but he doesn't know that I'm with you now. And speaking of which, Mikasa Ackerman, my childhood friend, would you be my girlfriend?

She smiled again and kissed my cheek before saying...

Mikasa: I would love to. And Elias Heinrich, will you be my boyfriend?

Elias: I will. And I love you, Mikasa.

Mikasa: I love you too, so much.

We kissed again as we were just getting started with our relationship, but what comes next would alter the course of the history of our war against the Titans.
