Erwin has secretly begun his operation to capture the fugitive who destroyed Hange's Titan subjects.

But behind the scenes is a calamity that has been waiting for the right moment to strike.

The capture of the female Titan is a success with multiple wirings attached to every part of her body.

Eren can see the Female Titan from afar as he was surprised by its features.

Eren: An Abnormal? Is it the same as the special types Y/n talked about? Or could Commander Erwin be...

Oluo snaps Eren's thoughts when he screamed at him,

Oluo: Eren, snap out of it!

Petra: Whatever you're thinking, save it for later! We'll stand farther ahead!

Eren: Yes, Ma'am!

Back to the captured Titan, Levi suddenly unsheathes his blade but Erwin stops him.

Erwin: Wait, Levi. It's an eye for an eye. Squads 2 & 3, empty the reserves!! FIRE!!!

Hange's and the other squad fires their multi-grapple guns. Y/n is just watching them waste an amount of 3 boxes of grappling guns.

Y/n: 'This won't make her give in to you... She's planning something. I can tell just by the way she looks at me...'

Y/n just observed the madness in a calculative way as she just kept glaring at him, not even flinching at the firepower of those grappling guns.

Meanwhile on the borders of the Forest, every squad is just watching the Titans find a way to climb up to where they stand on. Which at times... very interesting results. One of them is trying to grip the trunk of the trees and try to climb up but they can't.

Krista reported this to one of the officers of the Scouts named Nanaba.

Krista: Um... it's climbing up.

Nanaba: Well, I guess I'll move aside once it gets up here. I suspect withdrawal orders will be issued in just a bit.

Krista: Is that because of the explosions we heard coming from inside the forest?

Nanaba: Maybe.

The explosions which were the sounds of the grappling hooks were heard from afar based on the amount of the grapple cannons were used. Sasha on the other hand is clearly shaken from the sounds before as she asks Mikasa.

Sasha: Mikasa, what do you think is making those sounds? Could they be firing cannons inside the forest? Is Y/n alright?

Mikasa is just looking down at the situation below while Reiner assumes.

Reiner: 'It didn't look like they were carrying any cannons though.'

Ymir: Sounds like there's a real ruckus from the inside of this forest. Hey, Bertholdt, any idea where Krista is?

Bertholdt: Sorry, no clue.

Connie is sighing at what the heck are they still standing around while keeping a watch on the Titans below. Jean suddenly orders Armin.

Jean: Let's change positions, Armin!

Armin: Okay!

They swing to the other branch nearby because the Titan they've been keeping an eye on is climbing up and was getting the hang of it.

Jean: Looks like the bastard's got the hang of it. It's getting better and better at climbing.

Armin: That means they have the capacity to learn and adapt, frighteningly so. But likely some more so than others.

Jean: Also, it sounds like something is going on inside the forest, and I and Y/n may have a good idea of what that might be. We led that female Titan here to capture it, didn't we?

Armin was surprised about Y/n's and Erwin's motives on why they are here.

Jean: To be precise, it's to capture the human inside it.

Back to the Levi Squad Eren assumed the same.

Eren: That was Commander Erwin's plan all along. That's what it was, right? But new recruits like me aside, why did they not tell the Scout veterans like all of you?

Oluo: Shut it!

Petra: Are you implying that we're not trusted by the Commander and the Captain?!

Petra swings her blade in threat to him. Eren tries to reason but Y/n beats them to it as he lands on them with his ODM gear on.

Y/n: That is the reason, Eren. Why were we led here and led that lady into his trap.

Oluo: Vice Captain Y/n?! What are you doing here?!

Y/n: I was asked to check up on you to see if you're okay. It looks like he assumed right.

Eld sighs and grabs their attention.

Eld: Anyways, it's just as Eren and Y/n said. I think the Commander had a reason for keeping this from us. Not to mention why he didn't need to tell Y/n about it.

Gunther: Like what?

Y/n began to say the reasons to complete the puzzle of their questions.

Y/n: Trust no one. One of the reasons is; a human with an ability to transform into a Titan. Next is a human who has a power to wield a Titan that is beyond than any knowledge has ever comprehended. Lastly, a spy or an impostor who's working with someone is Among us and it's here.

Eren was surprised by this state. Meanwhile, Jean and Armin thought the same too while they're talking.

Jean: You thought so too, right? Someone in the Corps...

Armin: Yeah. I'm positive.

Back to the Levi team, Gunther is confused about the last choice Y/n explains to them.

Gunther: A spy? Do you really think that?

Eld: Commander must be suspecting about it. I dare say only the survivors from 5 years ago were informed of the plan. In Y/n's case, from the experience he had with Eren as the Titan about a month ago, he calculated and may have foresaw this predicament.

Gunther: I see. So that's what they were thinking.

Oluo: I agree. Well, Eren there it is.

Petra: If that's the case, it makes sense. Maybe they're assuming the enemy slipped in five years ago when the wall was first destroyed, and narrowing down suspects accordingly.

Eld: Then the spy is also the one who killed Sawney and Bean?

Y/n: You're right on the money, Eld. Also that's what Commander meant back then, Eren.

Eren then realizes it as the question repeats one time in his memory.

Eren: His question... Now I understand.

Eld: If we had answered that we may have been able to participate in the true operation. Though, I don't think such a person exists.

Y/n then looks at all of them with a menacing aura. They looked into his eyes and saw a person who was betrayed and backstabbed before, presumably during his experience in the Trost incident.

Y/n: Oh it does, Eld. Sometimes, all that person needs to do is create one or more good lies and a river of blood.

They were tense from that one line. They would never know when the impostor is gonna crawl towards them and backstab them from the shadows.

Eren then thought about that in relation to this expedition.

Eren: In any case, if this succeeds, we'll be that much closer to the truth of this world. But... even if it's for such a cause... too many people have died.

He can remember the deaths of Scouts who died against the titan and Y/n having an expression of failure to save them from the cockpit which he just clicked his tongue or grits his teeth as he saw the deaths of them. Eld suddenly asks them.

Eld: Do you think the Commander is mistaken?

Y/n suddenly answers this question with the same as Armin's after seeing the Titan who climbed up just falls down to the ground with his butt stuck to the dirt crater. This question was also brought by Jean as he states about it, personally.

Jean: You can't say this was right. If we knew there was a Titan privy to inside information, things would've gone differently. Like the case of Captain Ness...

Armin remembers his death by being mercilessly slammed to the ground. Armin remembers that and answers him.

Armin: No, he wasn't mistaken.

Jean: Huh? What do you mean? Just how many soldiers do you think died in vain?

Armin: Jean, it's simple to say what should've been done in hindsight. However... Nobody's able to predict the end result. Y/n knows this too since he was there with us in Trost. But despite that, the time for a decision will surely come; it's inevitable.

From behind the track of where Levi Squad ran from was multiple dead bodies that the female Titan killed with her still immobile from the wires attached to her.

Armin: The lives of a hundred comrades or the lives of all those within the Walls... The Commander made his choice. He decided to cast off the lives of a hundred comrades.

Eld talks to Eren about Erwin's decision.

Eld: Eren, you've yet to realize it, but I'm sure you will soon enough. The reason Erwin Smith was entrusted with the Survey Corps is to become the hope of mankind.

Petra: Captain Levi puts his full trust in him, after all.

Oluo: That's assuming you survive long enough to find out though.

Y/n: Be careful who you trust, though. People you know can hurt you the most. Especially you, Eren. You would never know when someone either entrusts or betrays you for good or bad reasons.

Eren looks at Y/n who's looking at his GP Watch at the holographic screen of the camera from his Gundam to check on the captive Titan and its surroundings.

Y/n: I only trust Erwin's decision if he's really prepared for the consequences he would make. Like me, I have my own consequences with each choice I make and I'm prepared to face them. Maybe, even to the point I made myself become a wanted criminal by this government just to protect you all. I'm pretty sure Erwin does too.

Eren and the rest of the Levi Squad had no words to say when he said those last lines. They never knew him or Erwin but somehow they were surprised by his choices in order to protect them.

Armin then talks about his own intuition of Erwin Smith.

Armin: I haven't lived long enough to prove it, but there's something I'm certain of. If there are humans who can bring about change, they are surely those who are capable of abandoning everything. People who, when required to surpass even monsters, are capable of tossing aside their very humanity. People who are unable to abandon anything will likely fail to produce any change.

He can think of four people who have that capability.

Firstly is Pyxis because of his decisions to go too far to the point he would trust the monster to deal with a monster. Second is Ian because he would do everything to save a life even to become a Titan food which Y/n luckily enough didn't let that happen as he was too young to die. Third is Erwin which would be a mix of both the two. You could say that if he's going down he's taking all his enemies with them. Finally, Y/n Kujo, who is a combination of the three, adding up with his other persona and his interesting tactical plans and foresights of revealing their sins or situations like this.

Meanwhile in Y/n's position, he then asked the Levi Squad something that's been bugging on his mind recently.

Y/n: Say, did your expeditions ever have a strange encounter before. Besides my first appearance?

Oluo: Hm? What do you mean?

Y/n: Like... anything strange you saw in the distance or in the corner of your eye? Either strange structure or objects?

They thought deeply about that while Eren was confused about his statement. Suddenly Petra answered his question.

Petra: Wait, I remember... There was one time in the 55th expedition where we discovered something strange in the mountains.

Oluo: Wait, are you sure it's okay to tell them?!

Gunther: It's alright. Besides these two recruits are special conditions.

Flashback

The 55th expedition team rides their horses slowly towards the location. They dropped down when they found a nearby tree to park their horses up.

Petra: We had discovered a cave entrance. With multiple writings and drawings on the walls.

The Levi Squad, along with Erwin Smith, looked at the writings as their expressions are shocked.

Petra: We saw the writings in a stone slab and it was our writings and language. With one of them being told by a prophecy.

Y/n: What does it say?

The Scouting team dusts off the wall to further read the description.

Eld: It says: "The time of humanity and Titans will crumble as the [Amber One] along with the [All-Knowing] will awaken and raise its feathers and rain down judgment on humankind."

Hange then adjusts her goggles and reads further. Gunther narrates what Hange reads on the tablet.

Gunther: "The Amber One will strike down its lightning to the world, the All-Knowing will grant humanity stupidity with its horrific tentacles."

Petra finishes it up with one last paragraph that was engraved in the tablet which she read.

Petra: "In order to preserve the man, the man must create demons to hunt down those so-called Angels of man. The man created two demons and named them."

Petra then sees another tablet and she picks it up. She noticed that there's a connecting mechanism so they connected the two slabs and the third paragraph was revealed in complete writing.

Petra: "He named his first creation, Bearded Wolf. And the other, Marquis of Hell. The man uses those demons to hunt and destroy those angels to restore order to humanity. The demons though were never seen again as they battled the Angels from afar."

They saw the pictures of two battles one being an angelic being while the other is a tentacle creature, each battling a humanoid creature with weapons at hand.

Petra: The weird thing about it is when I touched the slabs... I saw a flash of some battles with these mechanical noises that I've heard in my head. But after that I just looked at the Scouts who looked worried at me.

The Scouts looked at the tablet's drawings making it look like a story of a battle and what was to come. 

Oluo: And there we thought this stuff are only the Wallists would be interested in. *gets punched by Petra's fist* Ow! What was that for?!

Petra: How about you tell the rest of the paragraph and the story?! Since you were so cocky from the beginning of our depart from horses.

Oluo: Alright, fine. It said there: "Though both sides are gone, they will return again to battle to the death. For humanity's survival, and when they do, it's best to let them battle and watch."

Y/n: Did you dug deep into the cave?

Oluo: Well... We didn't have to.

The Scouts went deep into the cave until they stopped as they're too close to the edge of a giant pit.

Oluo: We found a pit along a huge object in that pit when Levi and Erwin dropped the torch that was illuminating our path. We've got no idea what it is, so...

They look at each other before they decided to call it off and put the slabs in a bag.

Oluo: We call it off and we just keep it to ourselves and only we are aware of this knowledge until we return back to HQ. When we returned, Hange just keeps surveying them out, not even leaving the room. But after 2 years, even she can't figure out what was the meaning of it. So she just kept it in her laboratory in our HQ.

Oluo: And now that you know, you best not to say it to others about it.

Y/n: You're right. It's a good thing you told me about it immediately.

This made them raise their eyebrows.

Eld: What do you mean?

Y/n stands up as he prepares himself to tell them the real truth about those angels.

Y/n: You're entirely right about reporting this story and matter to me. It's a good decision on your part. I appreciate this, Petra. Only I know of the power of these machines.

Eren is still confused so he asks him.

Eren: Machines? Are you saying they're almost as mechanical as your Gundam?

Y/n: Well, completely mechanical and extremely dangerous than any Titan you've ever encountered. It is wise that I tell you all about what those angels are, even inform Levi and Erwin about this matter when this expedition is over personally.

Eren: So... What are they?

Y/n's face is grim as he tells them the truth.

Y/n: They're called Mobile Armors. Forbidden machines that were once at the heart of a war in humankind's history called the Calamity War. They were massive units that killed hundreds of millions and crumbled civilization before you were even born in this world.

This makes them gasp in horror at what these Mobile Armors could do to humanity and possibly, the world.

Eren: So they're... weaponry machines unlike yours.

Y/n: No, they're completely different. They're unmanned, meaning there's no need for a person to operate and it has intellect which means it can fight on its own.

Petra: Fight on its own...?

Eld is just giving a face of having bad lucks painted on him.

Eld: Looks like we have bigger problems now than these Titans.

Y/n: Indeed. There is also that "feathers" that were described. Those are its minions and soldiers for the Mobile Armor. They're called Plumas, they're purpose is to follow the Mobile Armor's orders to protect their commander which in this case the Mobile Armor itself. It is also theorized that it can regenerate like the Titans. We may encounter what's left of it when we return after the expedition.

Oluo: Dead? You mean..!

Y/n: You are correct. I grabbed their attention and destroyed them immediately before any harm came to the soldiers and recruits in this expedition. That's why I immediately destroyed the Plumas scouting around the fields as they might find us and destroy us immediately based on their Master's orders, per se.

Eren is now troubled by this.

Eren: Mobile Armors... Can regenerate like the Titans... Looks like our cruel world still has its own secrets being kept from humanity...

Back in Erwin and Levi's position, Hange fired her grappling hooks towards it and it was a hit and it held there in a stable position.

Hange: How does it feel? You can't scratch even if you get an itch. Moving a muscle is out of the question. Probably forever.

Hange's lust for Titan knowledge is slowly coming back to her. As she craves to see how that giant lady gets out of the predicament.

Hange: The idea is that the more your wounds heal, the stiffer your joints get. Hehehehe... *calms down* But really, why haven't they gotten the key target out yet? What are those two doing?

Miche and Levi came out from behind to try and attack the hands along the nape to expose the wielder. But the Titan acted on instincts and covered her hands in hardened crystals.

Levi and Miche attacked but their blades are easily broken thanks to its protection. Miche retreated as he shook his head to report to Erwin that it's no use as they're blades are easily broken.

Erwin: The ability to shield a part of the body with tough skin, huh? It closely resembles what I've heard about the Armored Titan but too far for the Gundam's protection.

The crystal began to break and its fleshy hands were wide open again.

Erwin: Each ODM Blade attack continues to weaken it as well? We have no time to test this out. Which only leaves...

As on cue, Y/n arrived asking about the situation.

Y/n: So... No joy?

Erwin: We still haven't been able to get her out of the body. So it leaves us with one option, which you say would be risky.

Y/n: Don't tell me...

Erwin: Your Rifle on your back, we'll use it to not waste explosives that we have.

Y/n: So using the rifle with controlled fire, enough to burn the head and hands, then expose the user, huh?

Y/n then thought about something when he left from the Levi squad.

Flashback

Eren: Wait, Y/n. Where are you going?

Y/n can be seen adjusting his wrist device as he told them.

Y/n: I'm going back there. Check upon their work, they've been wasting ammo on those grappling hooks.

Oluo: What are we supposed to do, now?

Y/n: Keep an eye on Eren and keep him hidden while I'm gone.

Petra: Wait, what about those Mobile Armors you're talking about?!

Y/n: As long as we're not close to its location, it should be ok.

Levi is just standing on top of it's head, annoyed at her.

Levi: Hey, won't you come out already? We don't have all day here. Say, what do you think will become of you? Do you think you'll be able to escape this predicament?

Levi is glaring at it while his blade is still primed and armed.

Levi: I only wish you'd consider the trouble you're causing us. If I'm not mistaken, you killed my subordinates in various ways, but did you take joy in any of it? Because right now, I'm actually enjoying this moment. Hey, you felt the same, right? I'm sure you, of all people, understand.

No response came to the Titan and this made Levi's aura grow bigger and bigger with his eyes showing no mercy.

Levi: Oh wait. There's something I want to ask. Is it alright if I sever your hands and feet? They'll grow back like a newborn lizard's tail, right? Your real body to be precise. It'll be a problem if you die, after all.

Just then they saw the Gundam in front of her. Ready to do it.

Levi: Oh, right. About that fun of killing you and I have. Maybe it's more fun to watch you being incinerated by the Gundam.

On cue, the 00 gets his Long Rifle and points the barrel on her head. Levi then speaks.

Levi: We need you alive, after all. But Erwin didn't specify on how alive you will be after what the Gundam is gonna do.

Y/n activated his outer coms with a controlled volume and talked to the Titan. The Rifle is powering up and about to shoot her with a "controlled shot".

Y/n: Whoever's in there, you better get out of that body now. Otherwise, this is gonna burn your own sanity and go crazy. Not to mention, the Feathers of the Angels are nearby and their Angel is close by too.

With that, she didn't respond and he sighs.

Y/n: Your funeral.

But they didn't expect what the Titan did.

An ear shattering scream that made him shut the coms and sent his Gundam back a little bit. Everyone else either covered their ears or was startled from this.

After a few seconds of screaming, Levi is annoyed at what she did.

Levi: You give us quite a scare. You s***.

Hange and Moblit are shocked from her own screams as her assistant is still trying to come back to his senses.

Moblit: Was that its death throes?

However this was more than just screams. When Miche reported in, he was grimmed.

Miche: Erwin, it smells.

Erwin: Direction?

Miche: Everywhere. All at once.

Y/n and Erwin know what it is. Y/n began to fly up as he pilots his Gundam.

In the borders, every TItan is going towards the location of the scream. Armin and everyone there was shocked.

Jean: What happened to them? They're all going in together! They're ignoring us!

Ymir: What the hell?

Connie: All of them are Abnormal?!

???: It doesn't matter! Attack, don't let them through!!

Armin's walkie talkie erupted in a loud voice.

Y/n: All units in the borders, take out the Titans! I repeat, take them out!!!

All of them are startled by his voice. Mikasa unsheathes her blade at what's happening.

Mikasa: What's going on?!

Sasha: Wait a second! I recognized that shriek earlier. From the forest I lived in; It's the voice of a cornered animal that's abandoned everything. I was taught that the end of a hunt was the most dangerous.

Sasha's expression is full of troubled, and hyper-alert as she was once a hunter who hunts wild animals for different purposes.

Mikasa: So I should be careful?

Sasha: Be twice as careful as usual! You'll die if you underestimate the forest!

Mikasa: I was also raised on the mountains though.

Sasha: A girl that grew vegetables wouldn't understand!

Mikasa just nodded and remembered about her own instincts.

Mikasa: 'Sasha's instincts are usually accurate, even when it comes to dangers. Armin guessed Eren and Y/n would be at the center rear, didn't he?'

Erwin was surprised at his sudden orders. Then he heard Miche's voice.

Miche: Here they come. From the east!

Erwin: Wagon escort squads!! Intercept, now!

The squad intercepted but it failed as their speed was too fast and they couldn't react in time.

???: They're ignoring us!! Are they Abnormals?!

???: 3 Titans have slipped past us!

???: Captain Levi!!!

Levi is stomping on the titans head as he was annoyed by what she did.

Levi: Hey, you. You called out your friends, didn't you?

Levi then revereese groped his other blade and begins to kill two of them in one attack run. The other is a small one and began to eat the leg.

Erwin: 'They're targeting the Female Titan?

Suddenly he saw the army of Abnormals coming through to the Female Titan.

???: Titans from every direction!

Erwin: All soldiers, engage the enemy! Defend the Female Titan!

Hange, Moblit and everyone is engaging the Abnormals but it was no use.

Change: Oh no!!!

The Abnormals are just eating everything that the Female Titan was before. Cannibalism is more likely what's happening now. Erwin then ordered.

Erwin: All units, retreat!!! Assume the formation. Return to Calaneth District!

They all just watch about the ABnormals eating away every piece of the Female Titan's corpse with other Abnormals laid to rest on the ground and are destroyed by the Scouts.

The Scouts just watched about what's happening. All of them looking at the mission objective were destroyed and they failed to protect it.

Erwin: We've been bested.

Levi: Just look at you. Don't tell me you-

Erwin: This shows the enemy was prepared to abandon everything. To think they'd have themselves devoured to avoid leaking info.

Levi: Here we are, after everything we said at the trial. If we go back empty- handed, who knows what'll happen to Eren and us?

Erwin: Let's consider that after the fact. We should concentrate on getting back with minimal losses first. For now, at least.

He then looked and calculated at what's happening.

Erwin: The air is clouded by the corpses' steam. This might hamper the use of smoke signals.

Levi: I'll call up my squad.

Erwin: Wait, Levi. Resupply your gas and blades.

Levi: We're short on time. What I have on hand should last. Why?

Erwin: I said so. It's an order.

Erwin's glare stopped him from asking any more questions.

Levi: *sigh* Understood. I'll trust your judgment.

Erwin: 'Since he said we're short on time. Then let's make him use that short time while you catch up.' Y/n, I got instructions for you!

His Gundam looked at the cannibalism below and then looked at Erwin from above.

Y/n: What is it?

Just then they fired Blue Flares to call out a retreat order from multiple positions. The Scouts on the borders noticed it.

Nanaba: We're withdrawing. They want us to withdraw and head back on horse.

Krista: Got it!

Jean: What? It's over already?

Connie: We can go back! Oh, Thank God!

But Mikasa is still skeptical about the situation.

Mikasa: 'What in the world's going on? How's Eren?'

Back to the Levi squad, they noticed the order and Gunther updated them.

Gunther: Looks like we're done here. Mount your horses! Prepare to withdraw!

Oluo: Guess so. Why don't we go see what the bastard that was inside looks like?

They inspect their gear before departing.

Eren: Did we really get them?

Petra: It's all thanks to you.

Eren: But I didn't do much.

Petra: You believed in us, remember? It's because you stuck with us then that we arrived at this result. It's rather difficult to make the right decision, you know.

Oluo: Hey, don't spoil him so much, Petra. What are you saying he did? He was just shamefully making a racket, no? Well, I guess returning alive is enough the first time. But you can't be sure of that until the operation's over. Listen, brat. The expedition's not over until you're back home.

Eren: Jeez, I already got it.

They then depart by using ODM gear.

Eld: Oluo, Petra, you two have come a long way since wetting yourself on your 1st mission.

Petra: Gyaaaagh!!! Don't tell him! What if he loses respect for me, Eld?!

Eren: 'Wait, so...'

Eld: Can you deny it? For the record, I didn't wet myself, Eren.

Oluo: Idiot! I'm the one who has the better record in kills and everything! I'm better, you dolt!

Eld: Kill records alone can't indicate a soldier's worth.

Oluo: Shut up, stupid!

Suddenly a green flare was fired by a hooded Scout. Gunther noticed this and assumed.

Gunther: Oh. Must be from Captain Levi. We'll meet up with Captain! Save the rest for after we get back. Gunther fires his flare while the hooded person standing on top of a tree branch notices this and begins to unsheathe its blades and throws away the flare gun. Another hooded man with blades at hand finds the two flares and begins to boost through the other direction, fast.

Meanwhile Erwin and the others are on horseback to go back to the district.

Hange: Erwin, why'd you have Levi resupply and Y/n give instructions personally? We don't have time.

Erwin: Y/n thinks the same too. The female Titan was devoured. But, did you see the person inside get eaten? Because I didn't from the amount of smoke it released.

Hange then clicked it and gasped.

Hange: Don't tell me-!

Erwin: Exactly. Just as you and Y/n deduced. If they're a type that can move to some extent even after transforming, assuming they had a ODM gear equipped. Wearing the same uniform as us, the one controlling the female Titan could use it to blend in.

Both hooded people arrived beside Levi Squad's position. Gunther noticed the two people beside them.

Gunther: Two Captain Levi? Wait, no... That's not him! Who-

As he said that the hooded person on the left began to attack them but the one on the right locked its blades with that person.

Levi Squad: *gasp*

The one on the right kicked the one on the left. As it moved away to try and attack again.

Petra: Who are they?!
