Unknown Location

Darkness was all Clayde could see as he began to open his eyes heavily and looked around to see that his body was shackled in chains and he could hardly move at all. A metal collar was fastened around his neck and five chains connected to the walls around him as his arms and legs were shackled entirely as he struggled as the chainsa clanged against one another.

"Fuck, these things are tight!" Clayde cursed out loud.

"It's meant to be." A voice replied.

Looking straightahead, Clayde saw a blond man sitting in a chair outside of his cell as he had a green cloak around his shoulders with a symbol that Clayde has seen before.

"Clayde... this is a very good time to be honest with us right now because you don't have a choice. Who or what are you?" Erwin asked seriously.

"The better question is who the hell are you?" Clayde retorted.

"What?"

"Sitting in a chair with a serious face isn't going to help at all! First I was slicing up titans then I see my three best friends, then I pass out and now I'm in chains! Like what kind of shit is that?!" Clayde yelled at the ceiling as Erwin looks at him in confusion.

"How do you not know who I am?"

".....Jesus?" Clayde guessed.

"Clayde, what was the last thing you remember?" Erwin asked.

"Well like I said before, first I wa-" Clayde recited but Erwin interrupted him.

"No before all of that." Erwin clarified.

"Ummmmm....."

Erwin sighed before he leaned forward and looked him in the eye, "Reports from Squad Rico and witnesses along with Eren state that you slaughtered over 85 titans in the span of ten minutes. They also say you fought Eren in his titan form and was about to kill him before the cadets intervened."

"Okay." Clayde replied blandly.

"I also spoke to Cadets Mina, Krista, Ymir and Sasha as they witnessed you staring back at them but Krista reported that you didn't respond to her and the others nor did you acknowledge their presence. You were too busy slaughtering titans to even spare them a glance." Erwin continued.

"The form that you were in the fight was no titan and in all of humanity's years, we have never seen anything like it before so I ask of you Clayde... how did you turn into that form?" Erwin asked but with a more gentler tone.

Immediately, Clayde looked down at his chest as the cord pressed against the fabric of his shirt as he remembered Pochita's final words to him.

"I will always be with you Clayde. Whether you know it or not."

"I... had a dog named Pochita. He was a very strange looking dog with a literal chainsaw coming out of his head. It turns out he was the one who gave me this power and it costed him his life... he told me that he'll always be with me." Clayde said quietly as Erwin raised an eyebrow at that.

"Chainsaw?.... That's what those blades are called? The ones on your arms and your head?" Erwin clarified.

"Yeah, Pochita saved my life by giving me his heart and he told me that this was some sort of contract and in return, I had to show him more of my dreams." Clayde explained as he sniffed loudly.

"Interesting... so a dog gave you powers?"

"Basically."

"What type of dog was it?"

"I don't know... I didn't get time to ask."

Erwin nodded as he leaned back on his chair and crossed his arms before looking at Clayde's chest before speaking.

"When I asked you how you turned into that form, you looked at your chest... why is that?" Erwin asked curiously.

"There's a cord in my chest that connects to my heart, I think. I just pull it and I turn into that form." Clayde explained.

"Fascinating, you pull the cord and you turn into that other form. Other soldiers did say that you were insane and sadistic while fighting the titans as you exhibit levels of strength and speed that gave Eren's titan a run for the hills. Another thing that was seen was whenever the titans saw or sensed you, they went into a feral state and became more aggressive, care to explain?"

"I'm gonna be honest with you, I don't know." Clayde replied truthfully.

"Very well." Erwin said as he stood up and approached the cell door, "The judge already allowed Eren to join the scouts in the aftermath of his trial, hopefully you can also join our ranks as you would be a major asset to humanity."

"....Wait, what?" Clayde said after a brief pause.

"You will stand before a judge as humanity will decide your fate as to whether you should be killed or you will either join the Military Police or the Scouts. The choice is ultimately up to the judge himself as I will give my case in order to have you join our side." Erwin stated.

"I don't really know you though so how can I trust you?" Clayde asked suspiciously.

"You really lost your memory." Erwin stated as he narrowed his eyes in surprise.

"What are you talking about?" Clayde asked confused.

"We'll talk later but now... now your trial begins." Erwin said as two guards opened the doors to the dungeon.

Meanwhile

In the courtroom, every cadet who had a connection to Clayde were present along with the representatives of the Scout Regiment along with the Military Police and a couple of other leader-like figures of the people. Mikasa kept Eren close to her as the Scouts patched up his wounds resulted from Levi.

Amongst the cadets was Krista as she had a nagging suspicion of what this was going to be about as some of the other cadets like Jean, Connie, Reiner, Bertholdt and Annie had no idea what this was about exactly.

During Eren's trial, the Military police had them wait outside until after the trial was finished but now since that happened, they were in here waiting for something else.

"So why exactly are we here for a trial?" Connie questioned as Jean shrugged.

"Who knows." He replied.

"The only thing we could do right now is to wait and find out." Reiner said as he narrowed his eyes at the judge.

"Do you think the one who is about to be judged is... Clayde?" Sasha asked nervously as Mina nodded slowly.

"I would be dumb to believe otherwise." Mina confirmed before Judge Zackley banged his hand against his desk as it echoed loudly throughout the courtroom as all signs of talking disappeared.

"Order, order, now the next trial will begin. Guards, bring in the accused." Zackley spoke calmly as the doors opened to reveal Clayde in chains as two guards shoved him forward as they escorted him to the center.

Everyone looked at him closely as the guards fastened his handcuffs to an iron pole and drove the slack into the ground as Clayde kneeled before the jury.

"I am Judge Zackley and you are Cadet Clayde, correct?" Zackly inquired.

"Yup."

Armin looked at this closely but something caught his attention out of the corner of his eyes as he turned slightly and saw that Reiner, Bertholdt and Annie had looks of shock on their faces which confused him.

"It says here that you can turn into a strange creature and was able to kill 85 titans within the span of ten minutes, correct?"

"Yup."

"Now, can you tell us how you got these powers exactly?"

"Uhh... my dog gave them to me." Clayde replied as the right side of the court scowled while some chuckled as the judge raised his eyebrow at that.

"Your dog?" Zackley repeated.

"Mhmm, Pochita was a weird dog with a chainsaw sticking out of his head. He gave me his powers and told me to keep showing more of my dreams." Clayde explained.

"And when did you get your powers?" Zackley asked curiously.

"When I was in the stomach of one of those big human things." Clayde replied before a pastor glared at him.

"Proposteurous! No human can survive a titan's stomach! Where is this dog you speak of?!" The pastor demanded.

"Gone... don't know where he went exZackley." Clayde punned as he looked at the judge with shiteating grin as the judge chuckled at that.

"Good one, honestly that was pretty good." Zackley agreed before getting serious, "Can you tell us more about this monstrous side of you? Is it a titan?"

"If you're referring to those big bloated giants than no but to be honest, I don't know what I can turn into exactly. What I do know is that I can slaughter those giant slugs and have lots and lots of fun while doing it~" Clayde cackled madly.

"Hmm, interesting. Reports say that the titans you encountered turned into a feral state and charged you with malicious intent to kill you. We have four key witnesses who saw the events unfold; may Krista Lenz, Ymir, Sasha Braus and Mina Carolina please stand up." Zackley requested as the four ladies stood up from the stands.

"Now can you all explain exactly what you saw?" Zackley requested as the four of them looked at each other before Ymir spoke first.

"What I saw was a dangerous monster that is more deadlier than any titan we ever encountered and is capable of feats no titan could possibly reach. Clayde is an unpredictable person with mental issues and that makes him dangerous. True, he did save our lives but completely ignored us nor did he seem to recognize us at all." Ymir spoke out calmly.

"I don't even know who you are but you're already a piece of shit." Clayde commented before Sasha glared at Ymir before speaking.

"The four of us heard Clayde's scream so we rushed into the city to reach and help him but we were overwhelmed by titans. We would've died if it weren't for him coming into save us." Sasha said before Mina spoke next.

"It's true that Clayde may be dangerous, he still chose to save us rather than let us be eaten and just dismiss our deaths as unfortunate casualties to titans. Instead, he chose to do the right thing and save his friends." Mina reported bravely as Clayde looked at the four of them with confusion.

"Friends? I don't know these people." Clayde thought in confusion before the last girl, Krista spoke.

"I was about to be eaten by a titan when Clayde showed up. The titan that was about to eat me stopped and dropped me before charging after Clayde along with the rest of the titans. He saved our lives and he is not dangerous." Krista reported with a calm but serious face.

"Thank you for your reports." Zackley thanked them as they sat back down, "Now, according to Squad Rico, Clayde engaged with Eren's titan and nearly killed him in combat. Captain Rico, I understand you put together a report as to what happened?"

"Yes sir." Rico said as she stood up, "Eren managed to seal the hole in Wall Rose but then we had to deal with the remaining titans. Clayde showed up and killed all of them before engaging with Eren's titan. The feats that Clayde showed should've been impossible for a normal human as he easily jumped 40ft into the air without much difficulty along with overpowering Eren's titan punch with his own. The damage that was done to Eren was that his entire right arm was blown apart and Clayde was sent flying into Wall Rose but came out of the encounter entirely unscathed."

"I see... Eren, what do you have to say about this?" Zackley asked as the titan shifter stood up and looked at Clayde in worry.

"When I saw Clayde in that form, something within me said that he was dangerous and that he had to die. I didn't know it was Clayde at the time so I trusted my instincts and attacked him but I was out of my league. His strength and speed are on levels that I can't describe and the strange blades on his arms and head were incredibly sharp as they sliced through my titan's body like its butter." Eren said as he shivered a bit when he remembered the encounter.

"Would you be able to stop him if he turned on us?" Zackley followed up and everyone paid special attention to this, even Clayde as all eyes were on Eren as he closed his eyes and looked down before reopening them with fierce determination.

"As of right now, I can't. I haven't had much experience with my powers and Clayde probably has little to no experience at all but I will train and use them to my full potential... until then, I don't stand a chance of taking him down unless I become stronger." Eren replied seriously as Zackley nodded in understanding.

"Honesty is the best way forward and now I am leaning more to killing Clayde rather than letting him roam free but I will hear both sides of this, Commander Nile, please give your testimony." Zackley said as the Commander of the Garrison stood up.

"Thank you your excellence. I propose that we kill Clayde as he is deemed a threat to us all and if an army of titans can't stop him than what chance do we have? If he is able to go toe to toe with Eren's titan and come out unscathed than what chance do the Scouts have if he turns on us? It is best to kill him now before that option becomes a reality." Nile proposed as Pastor Nick pointed at Clayde.

"He is a devil! I've seen sketches of him from our Garrison soldiers and he is a monstrosity we should not trust at all! He will destroy humanity as we know it and is a threat to the walls itself!" Nick yelled angrily.

"That is your proposal?" Zackley confirmed as Nile nodded.

"Very well, Commander Erwin, give your proposal please." Zackley said as Erwin stood up.

"Thank you, now as you may know, the titans are unusually set on killing Clayde for some reason and they completely ignore everyone else. What I propose is that we use Clayde to our advantage to take back Wall Rose but also to safely expand humanity outside of these walls." Erwin explained as some people began murmuring amongst themselves.

"With Clayde, the amount of casualties can be reduced to almost none as him and Eren can wipe out all titans within the area and if we train him than he can be our most deadliest ally in this war." Erwin said before sitting back down as Zackley looked at him.

"That is your proposal?" Zackley confirmed as Erwin nodded as the judge grunted to himself as he thought to himself for a minute before speaking.

"After hearing both sides of the room, I have decided that Clayde will join the Scouts to help us defeat the titans." Zackley declared before slamming his hand against his desk in finality as the Garrison soldiers glared at Clayde with hatred while the Scouts breathed out a sigh of relief.

".....What the fuck just happened?" Clayde asked in confusion.

Timeskip

Clayde now found himself walking alongside Erwin as the commander wanted to talk to him on their way to Levi's office.

"For some reason, you lost your memories." Erwin noted.

"Okaaay?" Clayde said unsurely.

"The reason I wanted to bring this up was because you didn't recognize any of your friends, not even me even though we met a couple of days ago." Erwin elaborated as Clayde scratched the back of his head.

"I guess I did but I don't know, not knowing a lot is kind of cool!" Clayde said.

"How so?"

"For instance, I can reset my brain so any embarrassing shit that happened to me is gone! Now I can focus on my goals!"

"Which is?"

"I... don't know exactly." Clayde admitted before the pair reached a brown wooden door as Erwin knocked on it before a voice was heard.

"Come in."

Erwin opened the door and Clayde stepped inside as a female was sitting in a chair behind a desk as she didn't have her Scout cloak on at all as she looked at the two of them with a cold expression on her face.

"Captain Levi." Erwin greeted.

"Erwin, who the hell is this?" Levi gestured at Clayde.

"This is Clayde and he was the one I recommended to join the Scouts." Erwin reported.

"Why didn't he show up before?" Levi retorted quickly.

"He was caught in... an unprecedented situation." Erwin admitted.

"Like...?"

"That will be revealed in due time but for now, Eren Yeager and Clayde will be joining your squad." Erwin spoke with finality as Clayde looked at the coldly beautiful woman.

"Sup." Clayde greeted as Levi got up and walked in front of him before slamming a devastating kick to his balls as he yelled in pain and crippled to his knees.

"Don't you ever address me so formally for the rest of your life. You will address me as Captain Levi, do you understand?" She said coldly as Clayde groaned before she kicked him in the head as he fell flat on the ground.

"I said, do you understand?" Levi repeated forcefully as he nodded painfully before she nodded and walked out the door.

"Now get up, we have work to do."

Struggling to get up, Clayde groaned as he struggled to walk as his legs wobbled like a newborn baby as he slowly followed her, leaving Erwin in the room alone.

"You got a tough road ahead of you, cadet. Don't disappoint us." Erwin said to himself.

Outside

"Um Captain, where are we going exactly?" Clayde asked after he can walk properly now.

"To meet the other members, now be quiet brat." Levi replied in a tone that basically said no more questions.

Clayde decided to drop it as he followed his captain to a courtyard outside where some other scouts in green cloaks stood by some horses as they looked and saw their captain approaching so they saluted.

"Captain Levi!" They said seriously.

"Enough, this is Clayde, our newest member. You may have heard that he was in a court hearing earlier but I wasn't there to attend it. Get to know him and then get glasses over here to look at him." Levi ordered before she walked off to her horse as Clayde faced the other members of the group.

"Names Clayde." He greeted as they each introduced themselves.

"I'm Eld Jinn."

"Petra Ral."

"Oluo Bozado."

"Gunther Schultz."

"So you're Clayde, huh? The new guy who was supposed to show up two days ago?" Gunther asked as Clayde nodded.

"I suppose so."

"So what made you want to join the Scouts?" Petra asked as Clayde scratched his head.

"I got no fucking clue to be honest, people tell me I lost memories or some shit like that." Clayde said as Oluo looked at him.

"Lost your memories? What's the last thing you remember?"

"Playing with my friends! Hehehehehehehehe." Clayde replied creepily as the team backed up a bit at the change of tone before he yawned loudly.

"Alright so what's this cleaning shit I gotta do?"
