Outside the Walls of Trost

Over the course of three years, Pochita had to survive from the Titans and find a way to drill a hole into the thick wall which took a couple of months to do but the hardest part was hiding from the so called 'Devil Hunters.'

As Pochita tried to escape Titans, strange humans with devil auras have been popping in and out of the city and searching it entirely which forced the dog to hold back on his plans and find a place to hide from them. He didn't know what they were but they were connected to the Control Devil and that meant bad news... it means they were specifically hunting him.

Not only Titans and Devil Hunters, other Devils have been showing up in Shiganshina and began taking refuge in various places with most of them in hiding and some were actively hunting for something to crave on. Since Titans were the only things there, the Devils began to feast on them and sparked a little war between them.

Due to this war, somehow all Titans are now more aggressive to Devils and whenever one of them spotted Pochita, the dog would have hide and wait until the what died down which sometimes took weeks to achieve.

Soon enough, after two and a half years of being hunted Pochita managed to bide his time and carve out a hole in Wall Maria and took off into the open field. The devil finally managed to free himself from the wall's confinements.

Now all that separated him and Wall Rose were 62 miles of land that was filled with Titans and other wildlife. That took another six months to cross and avoid being eaten before he finally reached Wall Rose.

"Finally... stupid mortals made everything so difficult." Pochita thought angrily as he came to the top of a hill before his body froze in shock.

Wall Maria had another hole in it and Titans were pouring in as there were no soldiers on the wall itself to stop them and as Pochita looked closely, he saw what had become of them. Many bloody corpses littered the ground as broken swords and crushed gear laid beside them.

Immediately, Pochita ran as fast as his legs can carry him as he needed to get there as fast as he could.

He needed to save his friend.

Three Hours Later

Clayde found himself in a strange place that was cramped and unfamiliar to him. The walls were crusty and dirty while there was trash on the ground as strange black lines connected from one wall to the next. He looked up and saw that the sky was grey and gloomy.

Walking forward, Clayde kept seeing the same thing but he couldn't talk nor move at all before a passageway opened up on his left and it revealed an ominous looking door. Approaching the door, Clayde felt uncertain if he should open this or not as he raised his hand to grasp the handle.

Looking at his arm, he was surprised to see that it was shaking uncontrollably as it crept closer and closer to the handle before suddenly he was ripped out of the strange place and he awakened as he breathed heavily.

Instead of seeing that dark and creepy place, Clayde found himself looking at his bloodied hands as the sight of Wall Rose stood in front of him as the yelling of soldiers filled the air beyond them along with the screams of the ones who were being eaten alive.

Wincing, Clayde sat up before taking in his injuries, his stomach had a massive bruise on it as his entire body was incredibly sore. Some of the broken bones inside him boiled to an excruciating level of pain as he gritted his teeth painfully. Feeling warm liquid trickle down his face, he raised his hand and touched it before looking at it, it was his blood.

"Fuck... man." Clayde muttered as he shakily stood up and roared in pain as his injuries took its toll on him. Trying to ignore the pain, Clayde slowly got his blades out before pressing the trigger and took to the skies.

The pain tripled as Clayde fumbled in the air but held on as he swung himself on top of the wall and looked at the situation. In the right corner of Trost, a massive horde of Titans were grasping at the cadets who stood on the wall above them. They were struggling to reach them as they reached out but couldn't quite get to them at all.

"What?" Clayde muttered before he looked at the rest of the town and saw nothing at all... nothing out of the ordinary. Curious as to what exactly they are going to do, Clayde began to walk to the right side of the wall or limp rather as his injuries were beginning to take over now.

As he limped, a little bit of movement caught his eye as he looked to his left and saw that there was one titan walking in the middle of the Town. Clayde faced its direction before looking back at the massive horde at the right... why exactly weren't the cadets killing the them?

"Was there a plan to lure all of the Titans to the right-side and kill them with some sort of secret weapon? Well, better go along with it." Clayde thought before he zipped towards the Titan as he swung past multiple houses as the pain in his body dulled a bit as he zipped through the breeze.

"I do wonder what the hell socked me up into the air." Clayde muttered as he made a sharp right and then a left before landing on the roof of a house as he overlooked the Titan as he readied his blades.

Why lead the Titan to the others when he could just kill it right here and now?

This question ran through Clayde's mind before a yell caught his attention as he looked to his left downwards and his eyes widened, it was Marco.

Swinging towards him quickly, Clayde landed besides him before yelling at the pain in his body but helped him up as Marco looked at him in shock.

"Clayde?!"

"No shit, now why the hell are you yelling like a pussy?" Clayde demanded as he gritted his teeth at the pain.

"Reiner, Bertholdt and Annie are titans!" Marco yelled as Clayde looked at him in disbelief.

"Listen I know I'm crazy as fuck, which is not me admitting that I'm mad but I'm not fucking stupid." Clayde said in a deadpanned tone.

"No its true! I overheard them and they took away my ODM gear and left me to die!" Marco pleaded with him as tears poured out of his eyes which made Clayde falter a little.

"Why should I believe you?"

"Didn't you hear that Eren can turn into a Titan also?"

"... No?"

"That means its possible! Please, you gotta believe m-!" Marco said before something slammed into Clayde's body hard as he collapsed in pain before two pairs of arms grabbed his arm each and pulled him up and restrained him. Looking painfully at his holders, his eyes widened as he saw Reiner and Bertholdt restraining him.

"Hey Clayde, been awhile?" Reiner asked in a calm but menacing tone.

"Sorry man but we can't let you two blow our cover." Bertholdt said nervously.

Marco got up and tried to help Clayde but Annie landed behind him and slammed her leg straight into his shin as he collapsed in pain as the blonde girl looked at Clayde and her eyes widened.

"Not you too." Annie muttered as Reiner looked at her.

"Do the same thing you did with Marco, take off his ODM gear." Reiner commanded as loud stomps got closer. The Titan was getting closer and closer to them.

"Bu-" Annie protested but Reiner glared at her.

"This is for the sake of the mission! These devils were never our friends, especially this psychotic freak! If anyone knows our secret, its a major blow to Marley!" Reiner roared as Annie looked at Clayde.

"Annie, he nearly killed you and no doubt if we let him live with any promise he makes to us to not tell... he will not keep this secret and he will kill us." Bertholdt pleaded before Clayde's eyes widened as Annie immediately went and began to take off his ODM Gear.

"What the fuck is wrong with the three of you?!" Clayde yelled as Annie completely took off his gear and held it in her hands.

"Sorry Clayde, nothing personal... it just has to be this way." Reiner said as Marco made eye contact with Clayde before the madman nodded slowly as confusion flooded Marco's eyes.

Using his legs, he flipped up and grabbed Annie's neck with his feet as he put hard pressure on it as Annie widened her eyes and tried to get them off her. Clayde's ODM gear fell near Marco before Clayde twisted his legs and made Annie lose balance.

Using his strength and ignoring the pain, Clayde elbowed Reiner in the gut before grabbing Bertholdt's hair and judo slammed him over his shoulder. Turning around, Clayde blocked a hit from Reiner before socking him in the jaw hard.

Moving to Marco, Clayde unclipped his blade sheathes and began clipping to a shocked Marco's waist.

"Wait Clayde, what are you doing?!" Marco screamed.

"You gotta get out of here." Clayde replied before attaching his ODM Gear to it all.

"I'm not leaving you here!" Marco insisted before Clayde grabbed him roughly to make him look at him.

"Listen! You need to warn the others and make sure they know! I'll hold these three off, I'm feeding these fuckers to that Titan coming at us." Clayde said confidently before Bertholdt grabbed him and threw him to the ground behind him before the tall cadet went to grab Marco but the cadet instinctively zipped away but not before looking at Clayde with worried eyes.

"JUST GOOO!!!" Clayde yelled as he got back up only for Annie to kick him in the jaw which made blood splurt out.

Reiner got back up and punched Clayde in the jaw before grabbing him and kicking him in the stomach. Annie performed a roundhouse kick to his head and it connected devastatingly as a sickening crack was heard as three teeth pitched out of Clayde's mouth as he fell over before all three of them began kicking him as most of the hits made contact with his head as his body was on fire in terms of pain and he felt completely numb as he couldn't even think right.

Annie then curbstomped Clayde's head as the heel of her boot caused extra damage to Clayde's head as the old wound that he got two years ago bursted open as blood flooded out of the wound and he wasn't moving but he was still breathing.

"Let's move!" Reiner ordered before zipping away with Bertholdt and Annie right behind him as the Titan was now upon their previous spot as Clayde struggled to move before his body was picked up by the Titan.

Opening his eyes, Clayde's vision was red and hazy but he recognized the mouth of a Titan and before he could react, the titan bit on his right arm before tearing it off as Clayde yelled in pain.

"GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!" Clayde screamed in pain as yell echoed throughout Trost.

The Titan didn't stop there as as he chomped on Clayde's legs and ripped them out before going in for another bite and bit into his stomach as the cadet's vision faded as pain overwhelmed him as he screamed until his lungs had no more air as he could barely see Bertholdt, Reiner and Annie looking at him from a distant rooftop.

Pain and numbness flooded his mind as Clayde couldn't feel anything as he kept screaming in pain as the Titan ripped his intestines out and slurped them up greedily before putting the rest of his body in his mouth.

That was the last thing he saw before the Titan's jaw clamped on the sides of his head before his life was snuffed out of him entirely.

Earlier

An entire crowd of Titans of more than a hundred of them were clawing at the wall as the new cadets were on top of the wall and were looking down at them with fear in their eyes. The group consisted of over 250 cadets as they were technically the bait for the titans

"This is a stupid plan." Jean commented as he looked at the far side of the city.

"Like it or not, this is the only plan we got." Ymir muttered as she had her blades prepared and stood beside Krista.

"Is Clayde alright?" Krista asked in concern.

"He had a lot of open wounds and broken bones after taking a punch of Eren's titan, supposedly they said he'll be alright." Jean replied bitterly as Sasha looked at him.

"Why do you sound like you're disappointed?" Sasha questioned.

"I am not!" Jean yelled angrily before gesturing to the Titans, "We're stuck up here on a suicide mission while we have to hope that Eren will complete the mission!"

"Knock it off already, if Eren fails, he fails... we can't do anything about it." Ymir said, "Not like I want to do anything about it."

"What's that supposed mean?" Krista asked in confusion.

"It means that I don't believe that we should put all our trust and faith into one person, take god for instance, we put our faith and trust in him and here we are at the face of extinction... if Eren fails, its to be expected since I don't expect anything more than that." Ymir stated bluntly.

"Having Clayde with us would've helped us a lot." Krista said sadly as she looked in the direction where Clayde was resting as Ymir looked at her.

"That's my point exactly, Eren nearly killed Clayde and got rid of one of our best cadets while he stays and takes all the glory." Ymir replied.

"Hold on, Eren is not like that." Sasha argued as she narrowed her eyes at Ymir.

"Meh, just a theory." Ymir shrugged it off before a bolt of yellow lightning lit up the city on the other side of the cadets position before a green flare was shot up into the air as the crowd of cadets looked at this and knew what this meant.

"Here we go." Sasha said nervously.

Soon enough, Mina swung up and landed near the group as she nervously peered down at the Titan crowd from the wall before looking at the group.

"Clayde's in stable condition but it'll be awhile before he wakes up." Mina said as her voice cracked up at the last bit before she looked in the direction of the green signal flare as the plume of green smoke rose up to the sky as the cloud got thicker and thicker.

"He'll make it.... I know he will." Sasha said determinedly.

"Suit yourself." Ymir muttered as she looked over and saw that most of the massive group were shaking drastically as fear threatened them to lose all control of their limbs and fall straight into the mouths of oblivion.

"It's just this last mission..." One of them shakily said.

"One last time."

"I'm not doing this again."

"Let me leave!"

"I don't wanna die!"

"We're going to die."

All these voices of doubt are now sowing into the minds of every single cadet who heard them as they were now losing their confidence and were now backing away, out of the line of the Titans sights.

"Come on, Eren... HURRY UP!!!" Jean yelled as his facade was crumbling drastically as his eyes were firmly set on where the lightning bolt struck as everyone's eyes were there and then to their horror, a new signal flare went up and it was yellow.

Which meant that the mission failed.

"No..." Jean said in horror as he fell to his knees in despair as that same feeling spreaded to the other cadets as some of them clutched their heads in despair.

"I knew it was too good to be true."

"We're doomed!"

"We're gonna die!!!"

Panic spreaded through the cadets as the Titans were trying to jump and reach them desperately as Krista put her hand over her mouth in shock as Ymir shook her head as she knew something was bound to go wrong with this operation.

Sasha and Mina looked at the flare with wide eyes and open jaws as this flare meant that something must've gone wrong. Eren failed or he was killed so which one was it?

"Do we abandon the mission?" Krista asked the others as they didn't have an answer at all as they were still processing the fact that the mission was a blow and gathering all the Titans of Trost into one place was one whole dumb and suicidal idea.

"What do we do?!" Sasha cried out in fear as she couldn't take it anymore as her confidence broke into pieces and now every thought about winning just left her mind and no hope remained left within her.

Suddenly a loud scream pierced the sky as it echoed throughout Trost as Krista, Ymir, Jean, Sasha and Mina's eyes widened at the sound of the scream.

It was Clayde's scream... and it was coming from the center of town.

Immediately, Krista jumped off the wall and swung towards the sound of her friend's scream as tears seared out of her eyes as a fearful look took over her face.

"CLAYDE!!!" She screamed as she moved quickly to reach her friend.

"Krista!" Ymir yelled in disbelief before going after her along with Mina and Sasha following as Jean looked at them in horror as he looked at his shaking hand.

"No... god, no..." Jean muttered out before looking in the direction of his retreating friends but he remained on his knees. He wasn't going to risk his life for Clayde, if he died...

...

....

.....

Then he died.

Meanwhile

Reiner, Bertholdt and Annie watched as the Titan ripped the screaming Clayde to pieces before shoving the rest of the body into its mouth and swallowed before looking at them and began making its way towards them but they swung away using their ODM Gear before Reiner looked at the two of them.

"We have to go after Marco, if he makes it to the others than our cover is blown." Reiner said seriously as Bertholdt nodded nervously as Annie didn't do anything but the look in her eyes meant that she agreed with him.

"Split up." Annie said before taking the right side as Bertholdt took the left and Reiner continued straight as the three of them hoped to intercept Marco before it was too late.

Speaking of the cadet, Marco was heading straight towards the direction of Eren and the others considering they were the closest to his location. As he swung through the air, Marco heard Clayde's screaming and wanted to turn back to help him but he had to warn the others, tears spilled out and flew behind him as he cried loudly.

"Goddamn you three! Goddamn you!!!!" Marco screamed in anger and sadness as he poured on the speed of Clayde's ODM Gear.

As he swung towards an opening Marco swung into view as he noticed a giant boulder when he swung upwards and his expression filled with hope.

"There you guys are!" Marco said in relief as he poured on the speed but before he could, something sharp pierced his stomach as he lost control and fell to the ground hard as scrapes immediately appeared and chunks of skin peeled off the right half of his face as he slid to a stop on the ground.

Marco tried to get up but Reiner stomped on his head and pressed his heel on his head. Grabbing a blade, Marco swung as hard as he could and sliced Reiner's arm which made him wince but he applied more pressure before Bertholdt came into view and sliced Marco's arm off as he screamed in pain.

"Lift him up." Reiner commanded as Bertholdt nodded before signalling to Annie to come over and help him. As the two of them hauled Marco's bloody body upward, Reiner stepped in front of him with a blade in his hand.

"Sorry Marco, you and Clayde were in the wrong place... at the wrong time." Reiner said darkly before Marco spat blood straight in Reiner's face.

"Fuck... you." Marco spat out angrily before Reiner wiped it off before slicing Marco's throat open with the blade in his hand as his eyes widened and tried to scream but now he was gurgling blood as he coughed up a bunch of it.

"We'll take him to the canal and dump him there. It flows outside the walls so no one will find him." Reiner ordered as Marco's eyes were getting more dull by the second before they finally lost all signs of life and he slumped lifelessly in the arms of his murderers.

Five Minutes Earlier

Through the hole of Wall Rose, more titans were pouring in as they mindlessly wandered around the area as the group assigned to protect Eren's titan were trying their best to keep the titans away from him but he wasn't much help right now.

Currently, his face was steaming along with his fist as he was slumped against the massive rock and was not moving an inch at all.

Mikasa, Rico, Ian and Mitabi were doing their best to lure the titans away from Eren in order to give him time to wake up but it wasn't happening at all.

"At this rate, the titans will overwhelm us!" Rico shouted in frustration.

"We need to get out of here now!" Mitabi yelled to Ian who shook his head.

"Stick to the plan!"

"Are you mad?! The titans will kill us at this rate!" Rico yelled in horror.

"We have to hope that Eren will come back to his senses, we just need to buy him time!" Ian roared out as he slashed the nape of a titan.

Mikasa was listening to the conversation while also trying to wake Eren up and it wasn't working at all as no response was given at all.

"Come on Eren, wake up!" Mikasa pleaded with him.

Unbeknownst to the elite team, they failed to notice a dog that came through the hole and immediately ran to the left to avoid detection as he used the shadows of the buildings to cover his tracks.

Pochita ran faster than he ever had before because a new smell entered his nose and it was the smell of Clayde's blood.

Since he has been with Clayde for years, he has drank his blood to survive and for healing properties and that forged a bond between him and the human. Now, Pochita is smelling it in the air which meant Clayde was injured... or worse.

Running with everything he has, Pochita tracked the smell through many streets and took shortcuts to the center of Trost before he heard a scream that made his eyes widen.

"GAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!"

It was Clayde's scream and it was a painful one as Pochita turned the corner and saw a titan devouring Clayde's body before it chomped on his torso, chewed him up and swallowed him entirely.

Pochita watched the sight in horror before three humans swung away from the scene as the dog glared at them with hatred.

"They let him die!!!" Pochita thought angrily before facing the titan and ran into the open street as he revved his chainsaw loudly to get the titan's attention. The titan looked down at him and its expression became more feral and wild as it roared loudly before charging forward and snatched Pochita in its hand before the dog could react.

Immediately the titan threw the dog in its mouth and crushed him with his teeth as Pochita's lower half was crunched by the titan's jaws as the dog wailed in pain as the lower half of his body was bitten clean off before the titan swallowed and Pochita fell down its throat to the depths of its steaming stomach.

When Pochita landed in the acid-like fluid, he let out an angry bark as his insides were exposed to the fluid as it already began dissolving his flesh. Struggling to stay afloat, Pochita used his two front legs to paddle forward as he searched for Clayde's corpse desperately.

Turns out the titan ate a lot of humans because there were mangled bodies everywhere as they were lifeless and just floating about. After about fifteen seconds of searching, Pochita finally found the remnants of Clayde's body.

His friend was chewed up as his face was unrecognizable as it flat with giant teeth marks in them as his body had gaping holes in them as one arm and both his legs were nowhere to be found as his intestines were floating around him like a huge snake.

Immediately, Pochita grappled onto Clayde's body as the vision and life within the dog was fading away rapidly and his body succumbing to the pain. Finding a dry spot on Clayde where blood was still leaking out, Pochita latched onto it with his fangs and drank the blood as he felt his injuries slowly heal before he closed his eyes.

He wasn't going to let Clayde die... not yet that is.

Slowly, his body melted away on top of Clayde's heart as it looked like the dog was melting as his essence fused with Clayde's. Pochita's melted body began beating like a heart as metal chains slithered out from his limb stumps and attached themselves to his arm and legs before pulling them back together with his body.

Clayde's body slowly began to piece itself back together as Pochita now looked like a melted sludge covering the entirety of his torso as the human's body was soon back to normal and the dog closed his eyes before letting the white light take him.

Unknown Location

Pochita opened his eyes and took in his surroundings as he recognized the place he was now in, it was Clayde's home in Shiganshina. The dog looked around curiously as no one was in here before he heard the sound of footsteps coming downstairs as he turned and looked.

Clayde came downstairs as he looked Pochita before double taking entirely as his eyes widened before tears poured out of them.

"Pochita!" Clayde yelled as he ran towards him and the dog barked happily as the human hugged his best friend tightly. Pochita licked him all over as the dog himself was crying but... it was not because of joy.

"I thought you ran away!" Clayde sobbed out as he released the hug and looked at the dog.

"I mean I did take care of you so the least you could've done was say goodbye!" Clayde said as he wiped away the tears in his eyes.

Pochita raised his eyes at that as the dog looked at him carefully before he noticed something on Clayde's head, it was a long gash that was forcibly stitched up. Something must've happened during the five years they were separated.

"No matter, now we can just relax in our home! After that, we'll go outside and have some fun Eren, Armin and Mikasa!" Clayde said happily before rubbing his chin thoughtfully, "I wonder if Carla is cooking something delicious..."

Something wasn't adding up here as Pochita noticed Clayde wasn't talking about him dying or anything. Using his now psychic link, Pochita scoured his mind to find out what was going on only to realize that his friend's mind is... blank.

Blank of the memories that happened over the course of six years, no invasion of Shiganshina, no joining the Scouts, no memory of how he died.... Nothing. Just his childhood years with him and his three human friends, other than that there was nothing at all.

"What's wrong, Pochita? Aren't you happy we're finally going to achieve our dreams together?" Clayde asked as he was oblivious to the dog's shocked expression.

As of right now in this death state, Pochita can sense the insanity that was abiding in Clayde's mind along with the loss of memories so his friend was in a normal state right now but as soon as he heads back to the world of living, his insanity will return but not his memories. Pochita weeped sadly before looking his friend in the eye and he spoke.

"I always loved hearing you talk about your dreams, Clayde." Pochita said in soft voice as his friend's eyes widened in shock.

"You always talked about something better for the both of us and right now, you can still achieve them... there is a lot I know about you but you don't know a lot about me and I wish I can tell you but we're running out of time. This is a contract, I give you my heart and in exchange, you show me more of your dreams." Pochita said as he put his paw in Clayde's hand.

"I will always be with you Clayde, whether you know it or not." Pochita said before the light around shined brightly as Clayde closed his eyes tightly before opening them and sitting up quickly.

"POCHITA!!!" He yelled in shock as he breathed in heavily and looked around him, he wasn't in his house but there was liquid around him... was he in a river, no it stinks and it reeks of a pungent odor as there were bodies of other people floating around.

He looked at himself and looked at his teared up clothes as he noticed a symbol on his shoulder.

"What the fuck is this? Where the hell am I?!" Clayde yelled angrily as he felt his body hurriedly before his right hand brushed against something on his chest as he looked down.

It was a strange black thing that went straight into his chest as Clayde looked at it thoughtfully before he gasped. It was Pochita's tail and somehow it was in his chest which meant...

"OH MY GOD, I ATE POCHITA!!!!" Clayde yelled crazily as he stood up and punched his stomach as he tried to make himself barf.

"Don't wor- ACK!, I'll barf you ou- HUAH!, I'll save you!!" Clayde said as he continued to try and throw up but nothing was working at all as he stopped trying to hurl as he coughed out loudly as spit came out of his mouth before he stopped and fiddled with the tail.

It had a hole in it as Clayde intellectually stuck his middle finger in it and for some reason, had an instinctual urge to pull it.

He didn't know what it was but something in his mind told him to pull it with everything he had as he grinned psychotically as he faced a glistened pink wall of slime and god knows what else.

"Fuck it.... LET IT RIP!!!" Clayde roared before pulling the cord hard as it stretched out as far as his arm could go as a loud sound was heard from within him as a long chainsaw erupted from the middle of his face as blood splurted out of the wound as orange glob formed around his face afterwards and formed six narrow eyeslits. His mouth became bigger until it was full of needle like serrated teeth and a long tongue as his forearms splitted open to reveal chainsaw blades that were long and sharp as all three of them revved with intense speed.

Clayde's mind forgot all about what was going on just now and his mind was now hardwired to kill and slaughter his way out of here as he walked forward and looked at his arms.

"OH YEAH, IM COMING HOME BAAAAAAABY!!!" Clayde roared out insanely before thrusting his chainsaws forwards as they cutted through the flesh like butter before he began slashing wildly to freedom.

Outside, the titan was walking around as it was hunting down some more humans to eat before it felt something going on in its stomach as it looked down curiously before its stomach had poked out a bit before a long slash formed and Clayde's upper torso slipped out as the madman was crazily trying to find his way to freedom as blood flooded from the wound as his tongue flailed wildly.

"THE LIGHT, I CAN SEE THE LIGHT!!!" Clayde yelled out as he bursted out of the titan entirely and before the titan could react, he clawed his way with astonishing speed and chopped its head clean off as bit savagely into the nape and devoured it.

The massive body fell down as Clayde revved his chainsaws up more intensely as his powerful strength coursed through his body as he looked around and hollered out loudly.
