An Encounter with an Enemy
Xisuma stared at the file in front of him, projected onto a blue holographic screen. The file was about the scanning of the meteorite that hit the stage, it matched up almost perfectly with the coding discovered in Cleo, Zedaph and Grian.
He narrowed his eyes and zoomed in on a certain section of the file.
The coding of the meteorite seems... oddly alive. He wrote it down on a piece of paper.
"Mr. Void," Adrilia called out staring at Xisuma, with non-digital files in her arms.
"Ah, yes?" He glanced up at her, noticing the files in her arms. "Oh." He gestured her towards a drawing to his right. "Those go in there."
She sighed and headed there, pulling out the cabinet that matched the files' colors. Once she was done, she got up and turned to face Xisuma. "Mr. Void."
"There are some files in the red section, it includes the schedules, appointments, bills, debts and everything."
She sighed out and opened the red cabinet, looking for the files including the workers's schedules. "Mr. Void."
"Miss Lia, I'm quite busy, unless you would like to help out with research on the meteorite and– a— alienated cod— coding? I guess..." He mumbled the last part to himself, then got back to work. "Then leave please."
She sighed out. "Sir, I just wanted to inform you that—"
Just then the door slammed opened and both Void kids were on the other side. Xisuma yelped out and leaned back into his sit. Adrilia rolled her eyes and left the room, mumbling underneath her breath, "Tried to warn ya.."
"Dadshami!" Keralis cried out, going around the desk and embraced Xisuma in a hug. "Hey dad!" Bdubs waved at him and headed towards them, joining in on the hug.
He laughed out nervously and leaned forwards into the hug. "It's great to see you two again."
"It's great to be back!" Keralis shouted, breaking the hug. Bdubs nodded his head and chuckled, releasing his father from his grip.
Xisuma laughed out, he pocketed his left hand and smiled at his children joyfully. He chuckled nervously and glanced to the sides. "Don't get me wrong. As happy as I am to see you again." He glanced at his desk. "I have... some work to do..."
A hand came into his view a turned off of the screen, grabbed the source of the hologram, which was a black, thin rectangle.
"Hey!"
He glanced up to find Bdubs holding it close to his chest.
"Come on, dad!" Bdubs cried out, throwing his free hand up. "This is all you do! Work! Work! Work!" He slumped forwards, leaning towards Xisuma with a grin on his face. "Why not spend time with us? At least today?"
"Yeah!" Keralis joined in, pleading his father with his wide puppy eyes. "Pleasseeeeeeee?"
Xisuma glanced between the two. He sighed out, his hand reaching out and grabbing a fistful of his black hair.
"Where is Ex?" He asked out after a silent debate with himself. Bdubs and Keralis jumped back a bit, they glanced at each other then turned back to Xisuma.
"He's checking on Cleo, Zedaph and Grian," Bdubs answered. Xisuma nodded his head, he tapped onto the mechanical piece over his ear. "Hey Ex. Could you do some research on the meteorite and the alienated coding? I'm going to catch up with Bubbles and Keralis."
They both lit up at the response and turned towards each other with a wide smile.
"Anndddd, send that as a text, Stacy."
The mask covering his mouth, and tip of his nose glowed green. He glanced up at them, a green smile forming onto the screen of the mask, where his mouth should be.
"Come on."
Xisuma walked over and picked up one of Keralis's bags. He wrapped his held Keralis's hand and Bdubs gripped onto his father's elbow. Xisuma tapped his watch and projected a holographic screen.
"Let's get you guys a place to stay at firstly."
He pressed onto a dot on the screen, located at least 5 miles away from the building they were currently in. Their body dissolved into codes and reappeared in front of a simple cabin with a teleportation pad I front of the well kept lawn, a bus stop next to the pad.
Xisuma let go of Keralis and Bdubs followed, the raven hair walked towards the cabin with his two children behind him.
The cabin was made out of spruce as the wall and dark oak as the roof. Smooth stone stairs, upside down surround two glass block, two poppies on them, a window behind them. A trail made of both cobblestone and gravel leading up to the front door, patches of flowers on both sides of the front door.
The door was spruce as well, spruce trapdoors acting on the sides of the windows. A cobblestone chimney sticking out with smoke coming out of it. Looking into the windows, it was dark, signaling the lights were out.
Xisuma made it to the door and knocked onto it. Bdubs stared at the patches of flowers with narrowed eyes. He glanced at the cabin and glanced behind at the trail.
Did Grian made this? If he did, is it his career? Making real estate?
He pursed his lips and turned to the door. He widened his eyes as Doc opened the door.
He looked... very different from what he remembered.
Doc seemed to let his hair grow out, which was odd to Bdubs, considering up until he came out Doc always wanted his hair as short as possible, an eyepatch was covering where his robotic eye should be, a non-robotic prosthesis arm replaced his robotic one. He's dressed professionally, however his outfit was a bit messed up.
"Oh, hey Xisuma," Doc greeted him, seemingly not noticing both Keralis and Bdubs behind him. He waved at Doc with a small grin. "What exactly are you doing here?"
"Well uhh..." He laughed nervously. "Bdubs and Keralis are back."
Doc widened his eye and rubbed them. "Wait, it's winter break already?" Xisuma nodded his head and grinned awkwardly at him. He chuckled and rubbed his neck awkwardly. "Yeah and well, due to everything recently, I was wondering if you're willing to..."
Doc raised a hand to stop Xisuma from continuing with a tired grin. "Say no more, I'll be preparing the rooms for them when they arrive."
"That's really nice of you, Klaus!" Keralis yelled out with a wide smile, causing Doc to turn towards him with widened eye.
"Wait, you're here already?"
Xisuma laughed out nervously. "I... forgot they were coming back, not gonna lie..." Bdubs let out a loud, offended gasp.
"The meteorite incident caught me off guard!"
Doc's expression darkened and he let out a dead smile. "So did you bring them over for me to babysit them or?"
"Oh no, I just wanted to drop off their stuff and then catch up with them." He grinned at Doc awkwardly. "I hope you don't mind..." Doc shook his head and waved dismissively. "Nah, nah. It's fine, I needed s distraction."
Xisuma placed a hand onto Doc's shoulder and gave him a smile. Doc returned it. Keralis let out a cough and they both turned towards him and Bdubs, who was avoiding eye contact with the creeper hybrid.
"So, uhh..." Keralis trailed off and awkwardly grinned at him. "Do we just leave our stuff here or...?" "Preferably in the living room but either way, it's fine," Doc answered. He waved a hand at them. "If you're leaving it here, avoid trembling the flowers, Grian cherish them and I want them to be in perfect condition when he comes back."
So Grian did built this cabin...
Bdubs nodded his head and placed his bags on the grass, Keralis followed and Xisuma handed Doc Keralis's bag he was carrying.
"Are you sure you don't wanna join us?" Bdubs asked, grinning at him. Doc shook his head, taking as many bags as he could. "Nah, go have fun you guys. Lots has happened since you were last here."
Bdubs nodded his head. He gave Doc an awkward grin and a wave.
"Cya Doc."
Xisuma headed towards the teleportation pad with his two sons following him.
