The date was so aimlessly organized.
Jungkook wasn't exactly certain. The restaurant was pretty nice looking, just like for their first anniversary, except this time it was a different restaurant.
The waitress wasn't too happy to be there, she came out with the wrong drink for Seokjin, and got Jungkook's main order wrong, somehow.
On the other end of the table, Seokjin seemed frustrated with the woman. He had a hard glare every time she walked over, especially when she messed up Jungkook's order.
"This date could've been better," he sighed.
Jungkook shrugged. It wasn't awful or anything. "I like being here with you anyway, hyung."
At that, Seokjin smiled.
"We could've just hung out at home if that's the case." True. But Jungkook wouldn't have gotten a free dessert because of the waitress's fuck-up.
"It's fine, hyung," he reassured him. "The food's really good and we're already here. There's no need to worry about it, anyway."
So, they ended their date like that.
It wasn't the best date they've been on, but at least they were together and Seokjin looked hella hot. Gosh, did he look hot.
Hair slicked back, a fresh haircut. Black slacks and a tucked-in dark grey buttoned shirt; one Jungkook could easily undo and get into. Same with the pants.
"You look really nice, hyung."
He reached for Seokjin's hand, knowing he can drive with only one.
"You too, bun." Seokjin intertwined their fingers and lifted his hand, pressing a kiss to the back of it.
"Yeah? Did you take me on this date to make me drool the whole time?"
Seokjin chuckled. "I don't need a date to make that happen, Jungkook-ah."
When they finally got back home, they made their way to the bedroom, shoes kicked off and coats thrown onto the chair next to the window.
Jungkook was the one to pull Seokjin into a kiss. Having the older press him against the wall and kiss him so slowly had him weak in the knees.
Still makes him feel so lively.
"Mm," Jungkook hummed into his mouth. Let himself melt into the wall as Seokjin placed his hands on his hips, grip firm.
Seokjin pulled away from the kiss and cupped the younger's cheeks to gain his attention. "Turn around and close your eyes," he muttered. "I have a surprise for you."
Surprise?
Jungkook let himself be guided to face the wall, chuckling at the thought of Seokjin bringing out something he's probably bought online again. Maybe something to try out.
Probably that damn lingerie set— the bunny set that Seokjin was joking to him about the other day.
He closed his eyes, noticing that Seokjin wouldn't leave him until he did so. There was a quick shuffling from behind Jungkook and he couldn't help but smile.
Seokjin is such a dork.
He loves him.
"Okay," Seokjin breathed out. "You can turn around now."
With his eyes fluttering back open and that playful smile on his lips, Jungkook turned away from the wall and—
There he was. Seokjin, knelt down on his knee, proposing a velvety red jewelry box. In the box was a ring— a fucking ring.
Almost immediately, Jungkook covered both his ears. It was a reflex, covering his ears when he gets shy and doesn't know what to do with his hands.
His eyes were widened, lips parted as he gawked at the ring.
So lovely. Simple, yet beautiful. Diamond in the middle, band silver. Presented just so perfectly.
He glanced back at Seokjin, the older with an anxious look in his eyes as Jungkook seemed to realize what was happening.
"Jeon Jungkook,"
Jungkook wasn't even breathing anymore.
"I've never, ever felt so happy in my life." Seokjin swallowed hard as Jungkook sunk back onto the wall. "W-We've had our ups and downs, but I still— I'll always love you."
Tears. Jungkook felt tears prickling his eyes now, and a tight lump in his throat as Seokjin spoke.
"Every laugh, every playful smile, every trait you have, and all the things that come with them. Everything about you, Jungkook-ah. I just love everything about you."
Seokjin was tearing up as well and Jungkook was wiping his wet lashes to try and not cry.
His heart was warm. Like a sudden fire— but not in a bad way. He just felt warm all over. Fuzzy.
"I promise you that I will do my best to always have you smiling and laughing like that, too, baby. I always want you to be happy."
"I've fallen so hard for you. So hard that I just can't see my future without you. So please, make me the happiest man in the world."
Here it goes.
"Jeon Jungkook, will you marry me?"
The younger bit back his tears, lip probably going to hurt when he lets go, but he needed to respond.
Needs to make Kim Seokjin the happiest man in the world. That's all he's ever wanted.
"Yes," he choked out, his voice nearly in a whisper. "God, y-yes. Of course," he spoke even louder.
Seokjin let out a breath as if he was holding it in the whole time, suffocating in any "what if's".
He stood up just as quickly as Jungkook stepped up to him, immediately pulling each other into a kiss.
Jungkook was so, so warm. Heartbeat fast, cheeks heated, head bursting with all sorts of emotions. Even his lips were warm, melting on Seokjin's as they kissed.
When they did pull away, Seokjin pulled the red box back around to him. "I hope this is okay," he muttered.
Jungkook had to wipe away more tears as his boyfriend— now fiancé— pulled the ring out and took his free hand, putting it on his finger.
"You have no clue how nervous I was," Seokjin let out as he looked down at the ring. The pretty, shiny thing on Jungkook's finger. So stunning.
Jungkook giggled at the new feeling.
"It was wonderful, hyung. Of course you'd be nervous t-to propose." Jungkook was then pulled into a loving hug. "You should've known I'd say yes, though."
Seokjin nuzzled into his neck.
"The date should've been better. It was supposed to be special just for you, bunny."
Jungkook pulled him back and kissed his cheek. "That wasn't your fault. Our love isn't a movie or a book, hyung. You're perfect to me. And I loved every word you said just now. So yes, I'll marry you."
That brought a soft smile onto Seokjin's lips. "I can't imagine spending the rest of my life without you."
Jungkook grinned back at him.
"Then it's a good thing that I'm not going anywhere, my love."
