I once made this character randomly during a spontaneous RP two months ago. The character Dave was just me having fun, nothing more.

Fast forward to the present day and Dave has not left my mind. Dave has evolved into something completely different and fun and honestly? I'm glad Dave exists.

So, here's what a simple character turned into over the past two months:

Universes/Books: Currently in a universe I'm simply dubbing Dave-Verse for simplicity reasons.

Name: Dave (No middle or last names)
Nicknames:
- Dee, Mostly just for simplicity's sake
- "That Guy," Given Dave isn't always talkative and doesn't always remember to mention a name in the conversations that Dave has
- Snowflake, To reflect appearance
Alias:
- The Gate/Gatekeeper Between Dimensions, Explained more later but Dave has a very unique job
- Only Spawn of Both the Father of Light and the Mother of Darkness or "Child", Again, explained later but basically, Dave is the only child of the universes most dysfunctional 'Couple'
Gender: Genderfluid, Is perfectly fine with being called a boy, girl, or somewhere outside the binary.
Age: Ageless, though appears to be an Adult, usually assumed anywhere between late twenties to mid thirties. Dave doesn't know how old Dave's body is
Species: Luumon/Siigon Hybrid (Beings of Light and Dark respectively)
Sexuality: Asexual Demiromantic
Birthday: Unknown, but upon realizing that birthdays were kinda important on Earth, Dave randomly decided on one to fit it, that being January 1st, decided that sharing a birthday "With the planet" was fitting enough given their role. (Don't tell Dave that's not what New Years means exactly, Dave is quite happy with their choice, it would ruin it).
Occupation: Full Time Job as a Broadcaster for a local Cooking Show.

Appearance: Dave has abnormally pale skin that has been joked to be "Vampire Like" quite a few times. Dave has a fairly averagely built body and is very tall, being around 6'6. Dave's hair is white and long, often kept in some sort of low ponytail, or possibly braided if someone gets their hands on it. When it comes to style, it can range anywhere from simple graphic tees and a jacket, to suits, to sundresses as Dave is flexible when it comes to fashion. However, the two common constants are long scarfs, usually in darker colors, and sunglasses.

Dave's eyes are highly unusual as they look like static on a TV and since this would obviously give any sensible person alarms that Dave isn't human, the eyes remain covered. Dave's 'Blood'  and 'Tears' also looks this way.

Personality:
+ Open Minded, As Dave is already a strange fellow, Dave is pretty open and accepting of pretty much everyone else, provided you're not harming anyone else in the process. Dave is a good listener as you know that you're not being judged because of this trait.
+ Calm, Dave has learned how to keep a level head in difficult situations so is often fairly mellow and good at overall not freaking out in stressful situations. This is part of the reason why Dave has managed to keep a job as it can get quite chaotic at times.
+ Sincere, Dave rarely says things that Dave doesn't mean unless it's for safety or to get out of a bad situation. Dave isn't just nice for no reason, every word is meant.
- Closed Off, Due to having to grow up fast and an isolated "Childhood", Dave isn't always the best at communicating. Rather than talking about what's bothering them or talking about personal life, Dave just bottles it up and shoves it aside. To put it simply, Dave is emotionally stunted. Pretty much all of Dave's emotional issues stem from this.
- Pushy, Dave can unintentionally get up in your face and personal space and might not realize what's wrong with it due to a lack of contact with anybody for a good chunk of Dave's Childhood. This can scare people off.
- Trust Issues, For various reasons, Dave has some serious trust issues that not only prevent Dave from sharing much about anything personal, but also a hard time forgiving after some sort of betrayal, which can sometimes seem rather small to everyone else, but big for Dave.

Habits:
- Standing Too Close
- Speaking Without Much Emotion

- Disappearing For Long Periods Of Time
Likes:
- TV, Dave is quite interested in all the shows that people come up with and can spend hours watching whatever comes on, fascinated. Fortunately, this helps a bit when it comes to social skills.
- Animals, Dave has a way with animals, or at least a 50/50 chance with them. Some flock to Dave while others grow hostile or scared. There's not really a rhyme or reason to it, it's truly 50/50. Dave loves animals of all sorts and has quite a few pets.
- Live Music, While Dave loves all sorts of music, live music is preferred. Dave insists that what kind it is doesn't matter, just that it has to be in person to truly be experienced and enjoyed. Concerts and street musicians are some of Dave's favorite things because of this.
Dislikes:
-  High Pitched Frequencies, Dog whistles and malfunctioning radios can both be quite a pain for Dave as they cause bad reactions and general discomfort. If it's too high or goes on for too long, Dave could pass out.
- Fast, Flashing Lights, Similar to Epilepsy, if Dave is exposed to flashing lights for too long, Dave's body overstimulates and passes out. Depending on how bad it is, this could happen quite violently, much like a seizure.
- Most Sweet Foods/Candy, While Dave can handle sugar just fine, the taste just isn't something that Dave's body agrees with and often ends with said food being spat out on the floor.

- Isolation/Being Alone (Again)

Dreams: To live a simple, peaceful life like seen on TV; To one day be rid of responsibilities and "Destiny"; To live a generally suffer free life; To find a true sense of belonging on Earth.

Strengths:
- Cannot Be Killed By Another Other Than The Beings Of Creation And Destruction
- Can Control Both Light And Dark
- Looks Human (Mostly)
- Controls The Gates Between Worlds
- Lucky
Weaknesses:
- Weak To High Pitches And Flashing Lights
- Unable To Be Killed Doesn't Negate Pain In The Slightest
- Has Difficultly Hiding Magical Signature
- Gets Weaker The More "Blood" That Is Lost
- Bad At Asking For Help

Powers:
- Levitation, Simple floating, a power that Dave is very good at and can do with ease. If Dave is having trouble floating, it's a very bad sign.
- Control of Light and Dark, Being both of the two highest beings of both elements, Dave has equal control over both and while Dave doesn't particularly like using it for combat, Dave is pretty strong in both of them.
- Immortality, Dave cannot age and has a very difficult time dying. This power cannot be controlled.
- Portals, Dave can travel from the void to Earth and back again. Dave struggles to control where the portal to Earth goes without a clear picture of what it looks like.
- Gate, While technically keeping the other Luumens and Siigon's out is a power, Dave doesn't really have much control over it. It can only be used to open the Gate if Dave wishes, though this has never happened.
- ???, As Dave is a new type of hybrid, the capabilities could be boundless, though Dave hasn't discovered any new powers in years.

Relationships:
Family-
Father of Light and Mother of Darkness-
Dave doesn't have a good relationship with either parent. The Father is cold and barely sees Dave as one of his own and The Mother just wants Dave to open the Gate to her so she can take over Earth. Both want this in fact but The Mother is more willing to break Dave because of it.
Bea- "Brother"- Bea is a Luumen and comes from Dave's Father's side. Bea was sent to convince Dave to let Father through the Gate but is now starting to question whether or not he should continue. Bea's orders are if too long passes before Dave makes a choice, to kidnap and bring Dave before Father to speed up the process, and Bea isn't sure he wants to do that anymore. Bea is stuck between figuring out what the right thing to do is, and giving Dave Free Will.
Noct- "Sister"- Noct is a Siigon and comes from Dave's Mother's side. Similarly to Bea, Noct was sent to persuade Dave to open the Gate for Mother but her orders were to do so by any means necessary. Noct is stuck between following the Orders of her creator to make things better for all of her kind, and not causing a chain reaction that will likely cause the destruction of Earth and eternal suffering of Dave. It's a difficult choice for someone who's not human.

Backstory: (Oh boy, Strap In)
Long before Dave was even born, there was difficulty in Creating and Maintaining Earth in its earliest stages as there was a constant battle. Not of Creation and Destruction, but rather Light and Dark. They fought tooth and nail for the Earth, insisting it was theirs for the taking as soon as Life presented itself.

Creation and Destruction tolerated it at first until both got fed up. The Earth was nearly destroyed in one fight and so, they put their foot down. Barred them off from reaching the Earth for good with a Gate.

Which didn't please Light and Dark one bit. Together, they hatched a plot and worked together for once to create a child, then presented said child to Creation and Destruction, who were dumbfounded. If they managed to be civil enough to have a child, could they be trusted again?

Still uncertain of their intentions, the four of them created a deal: The child would grow up outside the influences of both Light and Dark and would serve as the Gatekeeper of sorts. If either Light or Dark could convince the child to open the Gate for them, then they would be free to visit Earth once again. Creation and Destruction told this to the child and put the fate of the Earth into the child's hands before leaving to finish the rest of the universe, having little idea of the consequences it would cause.

Light and Dark did everything they could from the other side of the Gate to get the child to like them, but the child was unsure of their intentions, knowing it was only so they could get the gate open. When the child kept refusing, Light and Dark both grew frustrated and more sour and bitter towards the child. Earth was the doorstep to the rest of the universe that was being created. It wasn't just one planet on the line, it was all of them. They would both do anything to gain control again.

The child grew up in the void, trying to ignore Light and Dark's influences to get the Gate open and watching Earth grow. For thousands of years, the child never left the void, until the Earth became too tempting and the Chid decided one peek couldn't hurt.

One peek turned into two, then ten, then a hundred as the child fell in love with Earth. Seeing as being near the Gate was not a requirement, the child, though no longer truly a child, started to walk the Earth and partake in Early things.

One of which was getting a job. The studio was desperate for new hires at the time and upon applying, the child was to receive job training and start working immediately. Only problem was that the child didn't have a name. "Child" and "Gatekeeper" were the closest to names but weren't exactly acceptable human namesb. Upon explaining this to the manager, he groaned very loudly but stuck an old name tag on the child and settled for that.

The name tag read "Dave." And so, the child chose it as their own.

Dave was officially apart of Earth and for the first time, actually felt pretty excited about it.

Trivia:

- Dave doesn't have any genitalia of any sort, a purposeful small shapeshift as Dave saw no need for it. Anything eaten or drunken is converted into energy.
- Most Luumen and Siigon consider other Luumen and Siigon 'Siblings' as they all spawn from the Father and Mother. Technically, Dave has thousands of siblings.
- Though I don't have much of a story in mind for Dave, I do want Dave to be in some sort of fantasy action world but with romance because Dave deserves love.

This character has been stuck in my mind for literally two months. I had to properly write Dave down to be at peace.

Plus I accidentally fell in love.
