Orange Belt - A trip gone wrong.

Terror. That's what it was. The absolute horror that could be seen in everyone's orbs reflected like a crystal ball. 'This is one of the last places they can ever find' - so we were promised - and it was broken only two months later.

Whether the authorities were in on this, or this was genuinely a surprise attack - we will never know, for we were invariably kept in the dark. They said it was a way to shield us from the evils of the world, but it was only a smokescreen to hide the possessive and insecure nature of men.

Anyway, now that this place was found out, and surrounded by their soldiers everywhere, it was time to flee from here. I planned to take a few women from this camp, and move far away from the Elysian camp. I wasn't lily livered, but I had to save my resources for the absolute worst. Running away was the only option for us. Running away from the Strykar Kingdom probably wasn't the smartest choice, but my last resort was the Neronians. As controversial their name was, they always accepted the weak and the lost. You didn't need to give them a price for your life, helping those in need just came to them naturally.

The huge building hadn't yet been infiltrated by the Strykan soldiers, so I signalled to my ladies - Lyrose, Emilia and Leah to follow my lead. Tying up our boots firmly, securing our daggers and swords and decanters of magical liquid at our waist, we jumped out of the high windows one by one, praying that no one hears us in the unfortunate mayhem around them.

Turns out that running away from the chaos wasn't the hard part, it was reaching our destination safely. Apparently, none of us knew royal dragons were on the lookout as well, and I had no idea they were trained to recognize the smell of witches. So obviously, walking past a sleeping dire dragon wasn't the smartest move on my part. Now, the brute was up and ready on its humongous feet, waiting for our demise rather impatiently.

"Oh God Zemma, what do we do now? This thing is going to end us all!" Shouted Ly in helplessness, which only caused the dragon to roar more fiercely.

"Don't speak, and step back Ly. Leah, give me your poison," I ordered her while keeping an eye on the beast.

I didn't even get the time to coat my sword with the lethal red liquid when it threw its first volley of fire at me. I pushed the other three girls to the right and flung myself on top of them to protect them from getting singed. And once again, I was on my feet since it wouldn't stop here. The dragon opened its mouth far and wide to show us its glowing red fangs, looking more like pieces of burning charcoal than teeth, and released another breath of fire but this time, I was prepared.

Throughout the heat, I withstood it all and slashed through the magical fire with my poison laden sword. The blood red mixed with the fiery orange and the flames disappeared in a flash. Such was the magic we witches possessed. Maybe that was the reason we were banned from practicing magic - so that their brutes could go on a rampage whenever they felt like it.

Taking advantage of its confused state, I boldly stepped forward and slashed against its scaly skin with my sword once again, causing it to falter and take a few steps back. It was now roaring in agony, and if there was any other human out here, they would have killed me for messing with a royal soldier. Nasty black blood oozed freely out of the wound I just gave it, and it tried to counter me with another step forward and another attack of fire.

The heat of the flames caught onto the neighbouring trees and dry twigs, and immediately caught fire. This was the perfect opportunity for us to succeed, I thought. I slashed at its attack with a newfound ferocity and vigor, and continued my attack with vicious, powerful, but fast as lightning strikes to both of its legs, and finished it with one final stab in its stomach.

Once the last blow was delivered, it sunk to the ground as the poison started showing its effect. The flames were still rising around us, and the black smoke was asphyxiating Lyrose. All around us, the paths between the trees were blocked, only one small opening remained. I signalled to the girls to run over to that opening.

Uttering a spell to get rid of the poison on my sword, I soon joined them.... only to know we had actually reached Strykar.

Hope you like it! <3
