Walking out into the parking lot Coleena felt her heart race. If Jasper was still in the parking lot would he be looking at her? Should she put the jacket on? What should she do? Would offering it back to him hurt his feelings? "Yo, Leena, you listening?" Mike asked as they reached the doors to the parking lot.
Coleena wracked her brain before nodding. "Yep. Yeah, what was it?" She felt the wind swipe over them and Mike exhaled.
"You totally weren't." He sighed out and smiled before grabbing her wrist, Coleena froze slightly fear creeping into her chest. Her breathing stilled as she allowed Mike Newton to pull her across the lot. Stop it. Stop. "Don't worry, Jess can tell you!" He turned around a boyish smile crossing his face and despite herself Coleena smiled warily.
Her emotions still being stuck on fear and distrust. No matter what, she wouldn't ever trust Mike. "Hey!" Angela called smiling as they reached their group of friends. Mike released her wrist before he looked to Jess.
"Jess, tell her about the party."
Party? Coleena's brain scanned over a few blurry memories before she shook her head. "No I really-"
"Oh! You have to come!" Jessica exclaimed nodding her head swiftly. "Everyone's coming!" She exclaimed and Coleena moved her eyes to Angela who nodded.
"I don't really like parties." Coleena expressed goosebumps popping up all over her skin. "Not really my move." She explained tightening her grip on her bag.
"Dressed like that?" Eric asked obviously doubting her words. Coleena shifted on her feet, how does she tell them that when visiting where she had been she was supposed to be dressed formal?
"Uh, cousins birthday." She tried and Jessica laughed.
"Yeah right."
"It's not really a party." Angela explained moving her hands around in front of her. "More of a gathering, I sit out back on the porch." She explained and Coleena exhaled before glancing to the sky. Should she try it? She could always take her bracelet off for extra measure.
No. She could hurt someone if her emotions popped in a house. She'll have to keep it on. She'll talk it out with Ashley. Subconsciously Coleena touched her cheekbone, the bruise was still a dark color and she felt her stomach drop uneasily.
"Will there be any drinking?" She asked warily and Angela shook her head.
"I don't. They do sometimes. It'll be fun!" Angela expressed her excitement. Coleena sighed before she nodded hesitantly.
"Alright." Everyone exchanged looks making her roll her eyes. "Yeah, I'm in. I need a ride home though." Jessica and Angela cheered as Jess nodded happily.
"Sure yeah, I give Angela rides home all the time." Angela and Mike scoffed at the same time.
"Not all the time." Angela protested before Mike nodded.
"Yeah sometimes I give her rides."
Everyone laughed except Angela as Angela climbed into the back, Coleena rested her arm on the door. She peeked across the lot to meet the golden eyes of Jasper Hale himself. His face seemed devoid of any emotions and she felt her eyebrows furrow.
Jasper shook his head almost as if warning her against her decision. Coleena shook her head before she reminded herself she was her own person. She didn't love Jasper and owed him nothing.

The Cullens sat around the living room wondering how to handle this situation. "Alice?" Rosalie asked lightly, she was sitting on the sofa next to Emmett who was holding her hand. Jasper was stood behind the couch while Edward was sitting in a chair.
Alice had been sitting across Edward in a chair as well, Luke stood behind her. "Things will be fine. It's forks." She assured everyone even though she was monitoring everything anyways. Really it was forks, what could really happen?
"What's this party even for?" Esme asked as she came down the stair case. Edward was the one to answer.
"Some away game, we won. Against Port Angeles." Esme smiled softly.
"So she's being a normal teenager." Rosalie smiled proud of the girl.
"Yes! It's exciting!" Emmett chuckled at his wife and before anyone could say anything Jasper sighed.
"You didn't feel her emotions. She was nervous and scared."
"Her thoughts weren't any better. That charm bracelet she's wearing, that was a factor." Edward pointed out searching through the book Carlisle had brought out. Jasper was about to speak before Alice spoke excitedly.
"She just got there!" Alice had been watching her choices due to Jasper request all night, something was off about the whole thing so he asked her to pay extra attention. "She's excited, but cautious."
"Hmm." Edward hummed making everyone look over. Jasper could sense the interest flowing off of him entirely. "There isn't a single thing about charm bracelets in this book." Esme smiled.
"Of course not. That doesn't have all the facts about the witches." She laughed lightly at Edwards exasperated look.
Alice gasped causing everyone to shift their attention towards her. The worry flowing off of her and Edwards annoyance coming towards Jasper in waves. His own anxiety rising as a result. "What?" He asked swiftly before Alice sighed out.
"Rosalie." Alice asked and Rosalie huffed out of annoyance. She didn't want to go be around the humans and their party. She wasn't normal and would never get that chance. Although Coleena wasn't normal either, she was a lot closer than her.
"What's happening?" Jasper questioned as everyone had agreed that Rosalie and Alice wouldn't go unless things were bothersome. "Is Coleena okay?"
"She's fine." Alice assured and Jasper scoffed but didn't protest. "Emmett should go with Rose, bring her bike back." Alice nodded before she stood up to put her plan in motion.
"I'll go make arrangements for Coleena." The three vampires swiftly exited from the house leaving only Edward who knew what was going on.
"Is she okay?" Edward hesitated slightly before nodding.
"She'll be fine."

The night had been good, fun even, until the football players got back. With them piled in there was a lot of everything. A flurry of events. Angela and Coleena had been sat on the back porch when all of the commotion had come through.
Jessica had moved to the back of the porch once the football players had made it back. "Not a fan?" Coleena asked, a teasing smirk on her face.
"Of the other team? Certainly not." Coleena's brows furrowed before she looked back in through the window behind the porch swing.
"The other team is here?" She asked and Jessica nodded her head.
"Sometimes they come here for parties and vice versa. Even kids from the school in Port Angeles makes the drive." Coleena nodded her head before Jessica handed her the cup she had.
"Can you finish this? I don't really like the flavor." Coleena stared at it warily before she looked back to Jess to decline. Jess had a face that was all but desperate about her. Hesitantly Coleena nodded friends cover for each other right?
Off into the house Jessica went while Coleena downed the contents of the drink. It was warm which made the beer in it taste a bit funky but she still swallowed it easily. Small flashbacks of her partying days at her old school flashing through her mind.
One drink would be fine. She would still be able to drive, and be able to stay in control of her own things. "You didn't have to drink her drink." Angela spoke and Coleena laughed it off.
"It's alright. I used to be a bit of a party girl at my old school." Coleena smiled as she remembered the days when she used to be the life of the party, lots of friends, captain of the cheer team.
"What happened?" Angela asked and Coleena smiled bitterly.
"It just ended. Wasn't what I wanted anymore." Coleena stood up the sudden rush causing her to be slightly light headed.
"Woah! Are you okay?" Angela asked as she seemed nervous to let her go anywhere.
"Yeah, yeah. Stood up too fast." Coleena brushed her off with a smile before she made her way inside, she passed Jessica who was talking with Mike and despite not having touched Jessica she knew she had feelings for Mike.
Jessica smiled excitedly before gesturing towards Mike. Coleena sent her a large smile and a thumbs up before she made her way up the steps. Once up the stairs she noticed how her body started to feel heavy before she got into the bathroom.
Once all her weight had been placed down she heaved out a sigh of relief before blinking hard. She felt weird, in the way that she shouldn't be feeling. Standing up had been a bit harder but she knew she just needed to make it to Angela and Jessica.
Just down the stairs, to the porch or the kitchen. Even to Mike or Eric. She'd make it there and be fine. At the same time, this was Forks Washington, nothing bad happens here.
However as the door opened and a guy from the other school grabbed her arm she just blinked.
Who was this dude?
"You okay?" He asked, almost seeming genuinely worried.
"Yeah." Her response was sluggish as the kid pulled her a bit closer to him.
"Well you don't look it. Do you wanna lie down."
Every single bone in her body told her to say no but her body felt so heavy, her head ached slightly, her thoughts were fuzzy. Fuzzy like that night. "Yeah, that sounds good." She replied as the kid smirked slightly.
"There's a bedroom back this way." Coleena felt her leaning into this guy who smelt entirely like sweat and cologne, almost like he had come straight from the game.
"Hey, wait." She said and the kid stopped outside a door. "My friends-"
"The pretty brunette right?" He asked and she looked at him confused. "With the headband." Her nod was slowish and all over the place.
"I'll make sure to tell her your up here."
"Promise?"
"Yep." Something about his reply had her hair standing on end before he opened the door. True to his word there was a bed with a pink comforter and he walked her towards it.
He let her fall onto the bed and she felt her jacket slide slightly. She'd only worn a zip up hoodie over her crop bralette. Her jeans had felt weird but her boots were light despite being steel toe. They hugged her ankles a bit tight and she squirmed a bit.
However as she felt his hand caress her cheek she opened her eyes again. Her expression innocent and confused. "I love your eyes. They're so blue." He stated before he ran his hand down her neck.
She shivered before she shut her eyes tight. "Hey." She grabbed his hand but even she knew it was weaker than normal. "Don't touch me." She said and the kid only chuckled.
"A little touching never hurt anyone." Coleena felt her heart hammer against her rib cage as she pushed his hand haphazardly.
"I said no." She stated quietly, she just wanted to sleep.
"Come on, I helped you. Help me out?" He asked before he snaked one of his hands under her shirt, his hand moved from the side of her waist to the center of her stomach. His fingers touching the wire of her bra. His touch seemed to burn her and as she grabbed his arm he sighed. "Just go to sleep." He stated and before either of them could reply the door opened.
"Coleena! I've been looking everywhere for you!" Both Coleena and the boy looked towards the door, although Coleena's look was slower.
"Rose." She breathed out before a small smile tugged her lips.
"I've brought Emmett like you texted!" Emmett suddenly moved his way through the door and Rosalie towards Coleena. The second the door had been opened the boy had moved his hand.
Coleena smiled slightly as Emmett grabbed her throwing her over his shoulder. She stared at the floor as her arms hung loosely down Emmett's back. "I'm glad you're here." The boy called and Coleena heard it briefly. "I brought her up here cuz she looked tired." He spoke and as Coleena wanted to protest she couldn't.
She was worn out, had a headache, and thirty pounds of stress. She only noticed they had made it outside once she felt the rain fall slightly onto her back. "No." She spoke out causing Emmett and Rosalie to stop. "My bike." She protested before Emmett chuckled.
"I've got it." Coleena couldn't put a face to his name as she's only met Edward Rosalie and Jasper. She knew she was safe with Rosalie though. She felt herself being set down before she saw Rosalie pulled a seatbelt over her.
"Where are we going?" She asked and Rosalie smiled sadly at how disoriented she was.
"Home. Try and sleep." Coleena nodded before she heard Emmett's voice again.
"What is that? Hives?" Rosalie sighed as she examined it.
"Leena," Rosalie asked and she shook her awake. "Are you allergic to anything? Did you take anything?" She shook her head as Rosalie huffed. "You have a rash."
"It's fine." Coleena replied a bit weaker as she slumped even more into the seat. "It happened last time, it goes away."
"Last time?" Emmett asked staring at his wife, almost as if she had all the answers. Even though it had been clear. Rosalie felt her heart sink and her chest tighten a bit as closed the passenger door.
How was she supposed to explain this to Jasper? Does she explain this?
—————————
The second the car had been in park Jasper had been outside and to the passenger door. However his face fell slightly once he noticed her asleep. "Coleena?" He asked and when Rosalie shook her head Jasper felt sadness wash over him. "Coleena, Darlin?" His southern drawl seemed to shake her a bit before she opened her eyes tiredly.
Her blue ones met his golden ones before she reached out to touch his face. Jasper closed his eyes leaning into it before he noticed she was practically burning him. His brows furrowed as she closed her eyes falling asleep again.
Jasper lifted her out of the car before looking to Rosalie and Emmett who were waiting for him. "What's wrong with her?" He asked noticing the rash on her hand.
"She." Rosalie swallowed before she answered. "She was drugged." Jasper seemed to visibly darken before Rosalie could continue.
"Well-"
"I think she's allergic." Rosalie finished making Jasper look towards her and focus on her. "She said this happened last time, so it should be alright." Carlisle appeared outside before he placed a hand on her forehead. Jaspers helpless gaze moving to his father.
"Her magic should burn it all out in the night." Jasper seemed to relax slightly before he made it towards the house. Everyone seemed nervous and worried for the unconscious girl before Luke came over.
"She'll be alright." Jasper nodded as Luke clapped him on the shoulder before Jasper brought him up to his room. He laid her on the bed with the green comforter before he removed her jacket.
The rash seemed to spread slightly up her forearms causing Jasper's worry to grow. "It'll be alright." Esme spoke from the door a comforting smile on her face. "It's just a waiting game now dear." Jasper nodded before he followed Esme down the stairs to the room his siblings were in.
Alice bounded through the door happily before she smiled at Jasper. "Don't worry! Her parents know she's here, they trust us since we're her family as well." Jaspers brows furrowed as he looked questionably towards Alice.
"It's because your soulmates. They know we'll all be family eventually." Edward supplied and Jasper nodded.
"That...fits somehow." He stated before he connected his hands behind his back. Although it's been years his military days are still hardwired into him.
—————————
Coleena crying entered all of their ears only an hour later before Jasper and Carlisle were up the stairs. They noticed the rash had spread up to the start of her neck causing worry to spread through Jasper's entire body.
"I thought it would get better!" He called as Coleena cried out before pushing harshly towards nothing. Jasper could feel her fear except it was more along the lines of terror.
"It should be." Carlisle responded as Jasper grabbed her arms to hold her down.
"Well it's not!" He called frantically before they heard Alice gasp downstairs. Edward and Alice appeared in seconds. Coleena woke up breathing heavily as she stared at Jasper's gold eyes.
"The bracelet! Take it off, it's limiting her powers." As Jasper let her go to take the bracelet off Coleena pushed his hand away.
"No." She cried out as she cradled her arm to her chest. "Don't take it off." She breathed out as she shivered slightly.
Jasper placed his hand on her forehead noticing how much she was sweating. "Coleena," he started before she shook her head.
"Leena." Edward called shocking everyone, his voice was surprisingly gentle towards her. "Listen, that bracelet has to come off. You're having a reaction to something and keeping your magic at bay isn't as important as healing yourself." Coleena seemed to be worried and as Jasper went to take it off she tugged her arm away.
"Hey-"
"She doesn't wanna see your memories." Edward stated before coming over. He nodded towards Jasper as he reluctantly moved his hands away. Edward took the bracelet off as a flash of blue surrounded the room. Everything hovered before crashing to the ground, the blue mist surrounding it floating it's way through the house.
It seemed to settle over the rash crawling up her neck before it retracted slightly. Her fever also wasn't as bad but still worrisome. "That's a lot better huh?" Edward asked brushing her hair back. Jasper clenched his hands tightly he wanted to be in Edwards spot. He wanted to brush her hair back, and comfort her.
Coleena nodded a small smile on her face. She liked Edward's memories. The memories of his mother warming her heart, and the killing spree not scaring her in the slightest. Edward might see himself as a monster but she saw him a hero. Saving other women from going through what she and Rosalie had gone through.
Edward stared into her eyes seemingly with the knowledge she just thought of and as he stood up to leave she grabbed his hand. Communicating the only way she knew how.
"You should give yourself more credit, Edward."
Alice had been the one to change Coleena's clothes, she had been dressed in a white nightgown that reached her knees and was a long sleeve. Alice had been saving the clothes from decades ago already knowing Coleena Caster would be in their lives.
The witch who would stop aging the second she touched Jasper Hale. However Coleena hadn't been ready to share that knowledge with anyone yet. Only Alice and Edward knew of it. Alice because she saw the devastation it takes on Jasper due to him being the reason that she will never experience anything normal again. Edward because he also saw this result. Coleena is forever trapped in the body of a 17 year old girl.
-3,233 words! I know this chapter was HEAVY don't worry! The next chapters to come won't be as heavy. :))) we're getting close to closing up the 'Pre Twilight!' It'll be so sweet, I can't decide how I wanna end it, if I want them to touch BEFORE Twilight or during it. Hard choices. We also learned a little bit about Coleena's old life (again) and we see the sibling like relationship Edward and Coleena are going to have, as well as Rosalie being proud of Coleena for trying to live her life as normally as possible. So sweet!!
