Thank you

The next stop was none other than the Gucci store.

Hongjoong insisted he would just wait outside, mildly intimidated by the security guards but mostly worried about money. He told them to go ahead but Seonghwa grabbed his arm and pulled him along.

He had never stepped foot in such a fancy place before but he wished he would get to again.

There weren't nearly as many clothes as there are in regular department stores but everything was neatly arranged so that it was clear what was being sold. He figured if someone was willing to pay that much for it they wanted to know exactly what they were buying.

Jinyoung had already picked out a few suitcoats and was looking around for an attendant to fit him. Hongjoong was overwhelmed and tried to tell Seonghwa he would just wait outside scared that if he even touched anything he'd have to pay for it.

But it was Seonghwa's turn to drag him around.

He brought him towards the suits as well, asking for advice as he looked at different colors and patterns.

"What about this one? I like the fit," said Seonghwa, holding it up to his chest.

"I don't know how much is it?"

"Price is not a concern. What do you think of the pattern?"

"It's nice but I'm not sure it's worth thousands of dollars," sighed Hongjoong, not able to fathom how Seonghwa just blew off a thousand dollar price tag.

"Hongjoong! I want your advice. You're so good at color-coordinating and you always look so stylish. Can't you help?" Seonghwa flashed puppy dog eyes.

Hongjoong was weak. With the flattery and the cuteness, he was unable to resist.

"Fine. If you wanted my advice, I think you would look best in—"

Hongjoong flipped through the rack, piecing together a few of his favorites.

"These."

He handed them forward to Seonghwa who stood frozen looking down at them.

"Well? You wanted my advice, didn't you?"

"Yeah, I just didn't think you'd go full stylist mode. I guess I'll go get fitted."

Hongjoong followed after him and they walked to the back. They made it to the rooms and an attendant ushered Seonghwa into a room and Hongjoong waited outside.

In a few minutes Seonghwa came out and Hongjoong's jaw dropped.

He had picked out an all-white ensemble with a tie around the waist. It was pulled nearly all the way but still sat a bit loose on Seonghwa's small waist.

"Well? What do you think?"

Hongjoong struggled for words before standing up to look it over.

"The waist would need to be taken in, and the sleeves are a bit short. I think the pants sit low enough—a bit of ankle makes them breathable and gives room for socks. I think maybe they could be brought in around the waist as well as at the calf here," he said, holding the fabric by Seonghwa's ankle.

The attendant nodded and took Seonghwa back to his room to change.

The next outfit was a three-piece maroon velvet number and Hongjoong held in his emotions to give notes.

"Take it in at the waist again, especially this jacket. Let me check the vest—"

Hongjoong pulled the jacket off, reaching behind Seonghwa to check the fit of the vest. It was at this moment that he saw Seonghwa's sculpted arms again and almost had a heart attack but continued through his burning ears.

"Yes definitely take the vest in, too. Careful with the chest, it's already a bit tight," he gulped trying not to look at it for too long.

"Same measurements again for the pants."

The attendant nodded and walked him back to the dressing room for the last suit.

Hongjoong sat down, taking a deep breath. Why did he do this to himself? This was both amazing and very difficult.

"Hongjoong? What about this one?"

Hongjoong looked up, thinking he couldn't possibly be any more shocked but he was incredibly wrong.

The last suit was a midnight blue with silver detailing and almost fit Seonghwa perfectly.

"Hongjoong?"

He snapped out of it to see Seonghwa looking at him nervously.

"It's—it's a m—much better fit than the last two. I—I don't really have any adjustments."

"I think it could be taken in a bit in the waist again and the sleeves are a bit short," Seonghwa instructed the assistant while Hongjoong stood trying his best not to stare.

Seonghwa went back to the dressing room and Hongjoong took a deep breath. He had done too well picking out the suits.

Seonghwa returned with the receipts in hand and motioned for Hongjoong to follow him. He stood up and expected to walk to the front to check out but Seonghwa grabbed his arm and dragged him back to the suit section.

"What are we doing over here?"

"If you had to pick a suit for yourself, what would you pick?" Seonghwa asked.

Hongjoong laughed.

"As if I would ever be able to afford this."

"Well then if you could afford it, which one?"

Hongjoong had already selected a favorite when they were looking before and pointed to it.

"Well definitely this one but—"

Seonghwa grabbed it off the shelf and pulled Hongjoong back to the fitting rooms.

"Seonghwa! Are you crazy?! I can't afford something like this!"

"Just try it on."

"No! I'm going to rip it or something and then—"

"You'll be fine. Just try it on."

He shoved Hongjoong into the fitting room and closed the door.

Hongjoong held the suit in his hands, wanting desperately to put it on. But that was insane! And a waste of his hope. What if he really liked it? And then he just had to put it back? He shook his head.

He'd just try it on for fun. If he liked it, he'd just smile and put it back on the hanger anyways. He was not in a place financially where he could just drop $2,000 on a suit.

As soon as he put it on he looked in the mirror and gasped.

It was gorgeous. He looked incredible.

It was silver with white embroidered flowers and came with a white velvet vest underneath. He really really liked it. He shook his head and started to take it off as he heard Seonghwa call out,

"Are you coming out or not?"

Seonghwa wanted to see it? Why?

He looked back at the mirror and selfishly wanted to show it off. It was probably his only chance.

He sighed and walked out, heading over to the seating area. Seonghwa gasped.

"Oh my God."

"I know, right?"

"Hongjoong that's beautiful. Oh my God."

Hongjoong did a little twirl and Seonghwa covered his mouth with his hand.

"How did you just pick that out so fast?"

"I've been eyeing it ever since we walked over there. A man can dream," he laughed as the attendant came over.

"Oh, I'm sorry I won't be buying this," Hongjoong said, feeling a bit embarrassed.

"This suit was made for you. You've got to have it," the attendant said, looking back to Seonghwa for reassurance.

Seonghwa was still just staring.

"It's alright, I'm okay. Thank you though," Hongjoong turned to go back to the fitting room.

"Well at least let her write down the measurements."

Hongjoong turned back and immediately the attendant began measuring and taking notes.

"Seonghwa it's fine, I'm really not going to be able to afford it."

"It's just measurements."

"Yeah! And she's doing this work for nothing! I'm not buying this suit!"

"It was made for you."

"Seonghwa! I can't just throw away my money like you! Us poor people have to ration what we have!"

Hongjoong felt bad for snapping but he was being put in a very uncomfortable position and it was exactly why he wanted to stay out of the store in the first place.

"Oh my God you didn't figure it out yet?"

Hongjoong looked at him, confused.

"I will buy it."

Hongjoong felt the blood rush to his face.

"W—what? Seonghwa you can't—"

"You really thought I was making you get your hopes up for nothing?"

Hongjoong stared at him unable to process his words.

"Wait—this whole time—that was the plan!?"

"Yes."

"You couldn't have said something sooner!?"

"Nope."

"I was so embarrassed! You are evil Park Seonghwa!"

"Hey, remember who's paying for that," Seonghwa warned.

"Thank you thank you thank you," Hongjoong smiled, genuinely grateful.

No one had ever paid this much for him, ever. To be fair, he didn't know anyone else who had as much money as Seonghwa but still. It meant a lot.

He finished getting his measurements and giddily raced back to the dressing room.

When he was done changing, he held the suit up to the mirror, brushing a hand down the front. This was his. Well, not this one. He'd need a lot of adjustments, specifically hemming everything. But still.

He couldn't stop smiling.

The attendant brought him the receipt and he almost had a heart attack looking at the price.

$3,700!? That was way more than before! He couldn't make Seonghwa pay for that!

"All ready?" Seonghwa asked, waiting to head to the register.

"You know what, it's not really my favorite. I can wait and get a cheaper one that I like more," Hongjoong said, wanting Seonghwa to believe him.

"Really? Well then let's look back at the suit rack and pick a better one. I thought that one looked amazing on you," Seonghwa responded, reddening a little at the last line.

"It's alright, you don't have to. I guess there wasn't really anything here that I liked. Thanks for the offer though!"

"Hongjoong."

Hongjoong looked up from the ground where he was diverting his eyes.

"Yes?"

"Is it about the price?"

"No! I know what you said before—"

"But the adjustments add a few thousand?"

Hongjoong didn't like how easily Seonghwa saw through him. He pouted.

"Maybe."

"It's fine, really. I swear. I already anticipated that since—well—"

Seonghwa gestured at Hongjoong's height.

"That makes sense I guess."

Seonghwa held a hand out, waiting for the receipt.

Hongjoong held it close, looking at the price again.

"Hongjoong, just give it to me. It's really nothing. It costs less than one of my mine."

Hongjoong sighed and gave in, his desire to own the suit greater than his sense of guilt.

Seonghwa smiled and walked up to the front, once again dragging Hongjoong along with him.

As they stood in line, Hongjoong knew what to do. He reached for Seonghwa's free hand and laced their fingers together.

"Thanks, Hwa. I really mean it. This is the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me."

He saw Seonghwa look to the side again, which seemed to be his attempt at hiding his burning hot cheeks and Hongjoong felt himself getting butterflies.

"Of course," Seonghwa mustered.

Hongjoong prepared for his final trick.

He leaned forward and wrapped his arms around Seonghwa's waist, pulling him into a tight hug. He pressed his head against his chest and heard his heart pounding.

He had confirmed it.

Seonghwa liked him too.
