Sailor's POV

"Welcome to Splatoon High!"

The boy sighed and rubbed his smooth hair. My smile faded into a concerned look.

"Is everything alright?" He looked up at me and blushed.

"Y-yeah! I'm just...thinking..." It stretched into awkward silence.

"Well, um, it's getting kind of late. Do you want to go check in?" I asked. And it was like a light dawned on him.

"Oh! Right! Sorry, I'll go now." He slowly walked off toward the school building. I smiled and waved as he disappeared from my view. Then I sighed.

I walked around the bushes calling, "Sugar! Sugar!" Suddenly a pure white kitten leaps from out of the shrubs and meows. I smile and stroke her fur as she purrs.

"You're not supposed to be here, Sugar. Go home!" But the cat continued to rub against me. I smile sadly and hug her.

"Yeah, I miss Mom and Dad and Ribbon and Sweetie and Glitter and Silk and Lace and Tailor and--and--" I choked on my tears and cried onto Sugar's soft back. She meowed and rubbed her cheek against my nose and I giggled through my tears. I wiped my tears and let her go.

"Go home, Sugar. I've got this, don't worry. Tell Mom and Dad and all my sisters I love them!" Sugar meowed again and leaped away, probably to go lay in what's left of the sunlight.

"OH SHOOT-" I totally forgot I was supposed to be signed in by now! I scrambled to the front gates with my backpack in hand. I pushed open the grand door to the school and rushed in.

A neat desk with a tall inkling lady behind it, typing away on a small computer. When she heard the door slam behind me, she looked up from the screen.

"You're late." I panted at the desk, then replied.

"I know! I'm sorry!" She rolled her eyes threw her glasses.

"Just get to the girls' dorms. Threw the door and take two rights. Then the door on the left, you can't miss it," she said emotionless as she handed me a slip of paper. On it was my room number.

"Thank you!" I called after her as I ran through the hallway. I obeyed and followed her instructions to the girls' dorms. I opened the door and was led through a thinner hallway covered in doors. My dorm number was 329, which is a ridiculous number to me, but this is only one of the three schools in all of Inkopolis, so you can imagine that there are a lot of students.

"Oh, I wonder how many students are in my class!" I started to get excited and began humming the tune to my favorite song, Color Pulse. Skipping through the hallways, I finally came to the three hundreds.

But as I was skipping along, I wasn't looking in front of me, and I bumped into someone. I fell to the floor with a thud and I rubbed my forehead before looking to see who I bumped in to. When I did, I found I had knocked down an octoling boy with a teal green buzz cut and striking dark pink eyes. He was still on the floor, getting over the shock. He was holding books that are now scattered across  the floor.

I quickly stood and picked the books up. "Here!" I held the books out for him to take. He looked up at me and he got startled and began blushing. He started to tremble and coward beneath me. I was surprised, not used to this kind of reaction, but smiled nonetheless.

"O-okay, I'll just leave your books here." And set the books in front of him, then began to walk down the hallway again. I tried to forget about the boy as I searched the doors for mine. I finally found the door marked, "329" and opened it.

Inside was a very clean room with a large window on the front wall. Two twin beds were on either side with a desk and a lamp beside each. On the left side was a dark pink suitcase neatly laying on the bed, glittery picture frames and makeup on the desk.

"Huh, much be my roommate!" I then proceed to unpack my things and put them in there proper place. The special blanket made by my younger sister. My phone and its glittery case made by another. And, finally, a picture of my whole family.

I sighed as I set the picture on the desk. I'll miss them dearly. I wiped away my tears threatening to spill with my sleeve.

Suddenly the door burst open and a octoling girl with long pick tentacles stomped in. She did not look happy.

"Who are you, thinking you can barge in like this?!" she commanded and a upset look was on her face.

"I-I'm Sailor, your roomma--" But I couldn't finish.

"No, my roommate is supposed to be Dash! Get out of here you rat!" I decided I didn't like this girl. And so, like I do when I'm mad, my cheeks puff out.

"You can't do that! I don't get ordered around by some--some hippy!" She gasped as if offended.

"HOW DARE YOU. GET OUT, NOW." I frowned as my cheeks still puffed out.

"No." She growled and left the room.

"I'll come back! I'm getting rid of you first, little pest!" She left. My cheeks were still puffed out and I was still mad.

"Good riddance!" I turn back to my stuff and suddenly spot a slip of paper from under my clothes in my backpack. I pull it out and open it.

Dear Sailor,

It's me! Lace! I asked Mom and she said it was ok for me 2 right you this letter. I think I'm getting butter at spelling!

I chuckled. Lace was one of the youngest sisters, only five. Her triplets, Glitter and Silk were just as good spellers.

So, I just wanted 2 tell U we luv U and miss U. Hop you have a good time at shool! -Lace

I smiled and hugged the piece of paper. They knew just what to do to cheer me up. Suddenly a loud lady's voice blasted through the speakers.

"All students must get ready for bed. Curfew is in ten minutes. Lights will automatically shut off."

I scrambled to change into my PJs and get comfortable. When I was going to put my clothes away, suddenly all the lights turned off. I sighed. I was never going to get used to this.

I got into bed and settled down. I started to wonder if that girl will ever come back. But she did after what seemed like forever, said nothing, and went straight into her bed.

I stared at the dark ceiling for a while, then the idea of sleep started to sound nice, and my eyes drooped.
