Chapter 3
***I have good feelings about this chapter. I hope you have good feelings about this chapter. I only wish it wasn't so long LOL BUT for those of you who want some real chemistry between Kai and Skylor...you'll like this.***
***(Kai's POV)***
I can honestly say I've never done several things before – I've never skydived, surfed in shark-infested waters, or won the lottery, for example. Well, last night, I did something entirely less likely than any of those put together.
I tried to explain to an enraged noodle-salesman why I was dangerously close to kissing his only daughter in an unmonitored, unlit room.
I got out by midnight, then drove straight home, jumped into bed, and had nightmares of Skylor's dad after me with a pair of chopsticks. Needless to say, there will be no more kissing Skylor.
I smirk. Well, not while her dad's around, that is.
I may not like her very much, but something about her passionate, inspiring spirit strikes a chord with me. And she's obviously very protective of Nya, so maybe we have the same interests in mind.
I just have to redirect those, so Skylor sees my sister is better off without makeup and bootie shorts.
Twirling my car keys on my finger, I impatiently knock on the bathroom door.
"Nya! I have practice this morning, and you can't stay home alone!"
"Coming," she replies.
I hear giggling, a sound I will never get used to. That's my first sign something's up.
"What's so funny?" I ask. I have a feeling we'll end up fighting about this.
"Oh, nothing!" she cries. "Just – "
The door swings open, and I see Nya. In fancy clothes. And makeup. And –
Good grief, she looks like a younger, punk version of our mom.
I'm speechless. "Nya – you – "
Oh, no. No, she can't be...she can't be this grown up already.
She stares at me, eyes hopeful, fearful. "So, Kai, what do you think?"
"Nya, you – you're – " Breaking my heart.
"I told you he'd like it," says a familiar voice.
An all-too-familiar voice.
"Skye, what in Ninjago are you trying to pull?" I exclaim. "We had a deal!"
"Wait," Nya frowns. "You two are, like, on a nickname basis now?"
Skylor ignores her. "Yep, and part of that deal was to let me give you suggestions about Nya's upbringing. Well, let me suggest you allow her to wear this ensemble to your practice today."
"Wait – you don't know I go to practice. You didn't hear anything." Why is it so hard to keep secret identities...well, a secret? "And if your father figures out you're at my house, I'm doomed. And you will probably never be allowed out again."
Skylor laughs. "Kai, my dad won't be awake for several more hours, so he'll never know I even left. The staff won't spill my whereabouts to him - they love me. Also, I already know all about your little ninja team."
My anger turns to Nya. "You blabbed everything to Skylor, didn't you?"
She looks down, ashamed. When Skylor puts a hand on her back, though, my sister's head snaps back up to face me. "Yes, Kai, I did. But in my defense, I've known her for four years. She's always had my back. I trust her with that kind of information."
"What if she's one of Garmadon's spies?" I try.
"Oh, right, Kai," Nya rolls her eyes. "And Garmadon said, 'Gee, this new blacksmith kid just moved to town. I'll bet he's the elemental master of fire and will one day join a ninja team that tries to stop me. I should send a fourteen-year-old girl to make friends with the fire master's gullible sister. Then, my spy can learn all the secrets about this ninja team, and I'll be able to defeat them. At the same time, the spy can lead the fire master's sister down a dark road called lipstick and crop tops.'" She takes a huge breath. "Does that sound about right?"
I blink. Once, twice. Then, I look to Skylor.
"What did you do to my sister?" I frown.
"Nothing. I just supported her so she could stand up to you for once."
I chuckle. "Cute. However, that is not the way this is going to work. Nya, wipe off your face and go change."
My sister takes a deep breath, closing her eyes. "No, Kai."
I'm taken aback. "Wait – what?"
"Kai, I'm not going to do it. This outfit is fine, according to school standards."
"Not according to Kai standards!" I retort.
"And a little makeup never hurt anyone," she presses on. "Skylor and I even picked out some colors and styles I knew were more compatible with your rules. So, no. I'm not going to change a thing. I'm going to practice, just like this." She plants her hands on her hips.
"Nya," I growl, "there will be repercussions. I'm still the adult in this – "
Suddenly, a body leaps toward me. It's...Skylor?
I reach out to catch her, breaking her fall. That's when she yells, "Nya, run!"
I laugh, shoving her off. "There are so many holes in your plan. First, Nya can never outrun a car, which is what I'll be using to go after her. Second, you decided to pick a fight with the elemental master of fire. I mean, that's brave and all, but – "
Even though I pushed her away just moments before, she suddenly reappears on top of me.
My brain sputters.
"Kai," she laughs, "you're so into yourself. You're not the only elemental master, you know."
"But – that's impossible," I rasp. "There are five – and we're all on the team. There's no way."
"Wow, somebody needs to retake ancient history. Didn't you know that the elements on the ninja team are just the four main powers, plus the prophesied savior's element? There are far more powers than just those."
I scratch my head. "No, I actually had no idea. I assumed it was just the team and I."
"Aww, you thought you were special? I'm sorry."
I crawl from beneath her again. "Okay, you can teleport. So, what?"
She reappears in front of me. "So, a lot. I can stop you from going after Nya this way."
I slap my forehead. "Great. I forgot about Nya. I can't have her running to the monastery alone. Skylor, can you teleport and go get her? I promise I'll compromise on her outfit this time." By 'compromise', I mean I'll let her keep her hair down.
"Hmm. Yeah, about the whole 'Nya running' thing. She might have actually taken my car."
I laugh. "I thought you knew my sister better than that. She can't drive."
"I thought you knew me better than that. You forget my family is rich."
The dots connect in my head. "You have a chauffeur?" I shout. "He didn't come yesterday!"
She shrugs. "That was private time for me and Nya. Today...I figured we might need him."
I storm toward the door, knocking over Skylor when she teleports in front of me again. Feeling guilty, I extend a hand to help her up.
"Can't you take us to my sister?" I beg. "I mean, since you can apparate and all."
"No can do, Kai. This power only transports the master of smoke. No passengers allowed."
Still holding her hand, I drag her along behind me out the door. "Smoke? What a stupid element. And if you can't teleport more than one person, it's severely limited."
"I also can't teleport anywhere I can't see, and since I don't technically know where your sister is...you're really out of luck. I hope your reckless driving doesn't get us to the monastery before her."
"It'd better," I growl. "For both your sakes." I throw open the passenger side car door for her.
She raises her eyebrows. "You're...opening the door for me?"
"I have manners, unlike some people," I bite out.
"I don't know how you're able to think so highly of yourself." She gracefully slides into the vehicle, swiveling her legs in afterward.
I close her door without another look and stomp over to the driver's side.
What right does Skylor think she has to uproot my life? And my sister's life? Skylor doesn't know anything about hard work or protecting her family. And of course, she had to have her own little elemental power handed down by some useless master. What does smoke even have to do with teleportation? And she thinks –
"Deep breaths, Kai," Skylor says beside me.
I look over, snapping back to reality. "What?"
"You look like you're having a breakdown over there." She hitches a shoulder. "I was just reminding you to breathe."
I throw the car in drive and merge into my traffic lane. "I'm not stupid. I don't need you to tell me how to perform basic life functions."
"I didn't tell you how, just what. And you'd be surprised how difficult breathing is when you get really worked up."
"Oh, and I'm supposed to believe you're some breakdown guru now?"
"Easy, Tiger. I was a camp counselor last summer."
"No way. Your wealthy father would probably have a heart attack if you did any sort of manual labor."
"Nah. It actually helps his image when we get involved in the community." She reclines her seat back and crosses her feet on the dashboard. "Do you mind?"
"No, not at all. Make yourself comfortable in my beat-up junk car. I'd hate for you to overdose on the smell of fast food tacos and Nya's gym shoes."
"Speaking of food..." She picks up a paper sack, fishes around inside, and draws out an old French fry. "Not sure if this is still good or not, but it's been a while since I last had a generic drive-thru meal."
I slide on my sunglasses and turn up the radio.
Skylor immediately turns it back down.
"Hey," I complain, hovering my hand over the controls again.
"Slow down, Kai. We were just about to go deep there."
Her hand grazes mine, and I feel all sorts of things I'm not supposed to. I'm the playboy. Playboys are not moved by one girl's touch. Especially when that girl is incredibly annoying and in the process of ruining your life.
"It seems you have a lot of pent up anger," she assesses me. "I mean, part of it is your personality: You have a temper. But I think there's a deeper source of your frustration."
"Oh, okay. And I guess this is the part where I tell you my life story."
She quietly says, "I know your story about your parents making Nya live with you is a lie."
"She told you?" I fume.
"No. She hasn't given me a peep regarding that. But it's not hard to call your bluff. I mean, you kind of just admitted to me that it isn't true."
I mentally facepalm. I'm so stupid.
"I want to help you and Nya have the best relationship possible," she tries.
"Oh, yes. You've been a great help in that department."
She sighs. "And I care about you, Kai. As a friend. I want to help you."
"Wait. I'm still stuck at the part where we're friends."
She swats my arm. "Yes, we are friends. We have a common interest – Nya. And I think you're not a bad guy. When you're not bossing your sister around, that is."
"Yesterday, you would've begged to differ."
"I thought long and hard last night, Kai. And do you want to know what I realized?"
"That you should've slept instead?"
"No. I realized that you...are a teddy bear."
I slam on my brakes, almost hitting the car in front of me. He gives me a rude gesture, but I just grin in return.
Then my stormy eyes turn to Skylor. "I am not a teddy bear. You're clearly delusional."
"Yes, you are a teddy bear. After you told me off at the mall yesterday, it took me a while to cool down. But when I did...I remembered how relieved you were when we finally found you in the food court. I recalled how tightly you held Nya and the concern in your eyes." Her hand comes to rest on mine.
If this girl doesn't stop distracting me like that, we're not going to make it to the monastery without a collision.
"Kai," she says gently, "I think something bad happened to your parents. I think somebody got sick, or one of them left, and now you believe it's your responsibility to make sure that never happens to Nya."
"But it is," I swallow.
"She's not your parents, Kai." Her fingers wrap around mine, her thumb making circular motions on my palm.
I feel the tension begin to leave my body. "But...they'd want me to protect her from their fate, right?"
"Kai, I don't know what happened, but I can tell you they'd want your sister to enjoy her life. Sometimes, playing it safe is just an excuse for fear to control us."
We come to sit at a stoplight, and I use the spare moment to assess her face. It's solemn, her eyes shimmering with care.
"They died," I whisper, voice cracking. "My parents. It was a car crash four years ago."
"I'm sorry," she murmurs. "That must've been so hard."
"I don't know. I think it must've been worse for Nya. We were in the car with them, and I had a bad head injury, but Nya – she escaped with barely a scratch. When they finally weaned me off painkillers a few days after the accident, I had a world of grief to deal with. But Nya had already felt the worst of it, and she was all alone when she did it."
Skylor closes her eyes and shakes her head. "I'm sorry, Kai. I'm so, so sorry."
"Nya never speaks of what happened. I don't remember the car ride at all, and whenever I bring it up to her...she shuts me down. I think she keeps a lot of those memories locked away."
A car honks behind us, and I realize the light is green.
Skylor speaks after a moment. "So...you don't really know what happened to your parents."
"I know, in a way. My mom was killed almost instantly." I try to replace the sorrow inside with burning anger, but it's no good. I can feel tears coming. "My dad – he made it to the hospital, but died shortly after."
"But you don't recall what their last moments were like?"
"No. I wish – but I'm not going to press Nya to tell me more than she wants."
I feel Skylor stiffen beside me. Afraid she'll pull her hand away, I tighten my grip on it.
"Kai, I haven't been entirely honest with you," she sighs.
"Oh, great. So I pour out my darkest secrets to you, then figure out you're a liar? Thanks, Skylor. That makes me feel wonderful."
"No, Kai. That's not what I mean. The only thing I haven't been truthful about is my elemental power."
"I knew it was fake! Tell me, how'd you pull it off?"
"Oh, my goodness! Can you shut up for one moment?"
I frown. "Um...why?"
"See, my element's not actually smoke. I mean, I can use smoke, but I actually have the power of amber."
"What does that mean?" I'm clueless.
In response, she creates a small flame with her free hand.
I immediately slide away from her. "Eww, Skylor! You mean – we're related?" I feel like I'm going to throw up. "And you didn't tell me? I kissed you! I held hands with you! I was joking yesterday when I said that siblings in your family do that. Gross!"
"Calm down," she laughs. "Kai, the power of amber means I can absorb the elemental powers of others. Don't you know there can only be one master of fire at once?"
"Oh." I chuckle, uneasy. "So, you can use my power because we've touched?"
"Precisely. And I hadn't intended to tell you about the true extent of my power, but I think...I think I can help you."
"With what?"
"Your parents. I can use the power of mind, which means I can read memories and that sort of thing. And, theoretically, you do have some recollection of what happened the night your parents died, even though it's suppressed. It's possible I could read your mind and tell you what happened."
"Really? You mean – I could know what their last words were?"
"Yes, as long as you have memories of those last words."
"Oh, wow. This is..." I shake my head, laughing. "I could kiss you right now, and that usually only happens when we argue."
"Thanks for the compliment, but I'll pass. If you haven't noticed, we've arrived."
I heave a breath dramatically. "Skylor, you ruin everything."
***(Skylor's POV)***
Music cue <3
A quick glance around shows that Nya already got here. My sports car is parked a few feet away.
Smiling in satisfaction, I go to open my door. Kai's already there, however.
I climb over to his side of the vehicle and use his door.
"What was that for?" he exclaims as I climb out.
"I wanted to do it myself," I shrug.
"Yeah, but that was just plain rude."
"So are you, but you don't see me complaining."
"I distinctly remember you saying this morning that – "
I wave him off. "Let's go find your sister."
I watch as all thoughts of me flood his mind. His expression is replaced with fear.
"Oh, great. My sister. I've got to go get her!" He starts to run ahead, but I grab his hand.
"Remember what we talked about, Hothead. Your sister can take care of herself for a minute. Walk with me."
"But – oh, if one of the guys does anything to hurt her – "
"Come on, Kai! They're your team! Don't you trust them?"
He looks at me like I'm crazy. "They're guys! They might be nice and all, but they see a girls' legs and suddenly, all morals are thrown to the wind."
I roll my eyes. "Sounds like you're speaking from experience. Why are you so obsessed with legs, anyway?"
"I am not!"
"Then why couldn't you stop staring at mine yesterday?"
"Um...I...well..."
I chuckle. "That's what I thought. And you clearly haven't won me over yet, so I don't think your sister's in much danger."
"Oh, I have too won you over," he argues.
"Hmm. How?" Now this, I'd like to hear.
"We're holding hands."
"I'm keeping you from breaking the speed barrier just to get to your sister."
He shakes his head. "That's what they all say, Skylor."
"You mean, all those hearts you've left broken along the way?"
"Hey, don't blame me. I can't help that I'm full of charisma and model-like good looks."
I snicker.
He tugs on my hand. "Hey! Now that's not very – "
He stops as we enter the monastery. Nya is sitting on the couch with a book.
"Oh, phew," Kai laughs. "I'm glad to see you're okay, Sis." Then I feel him tense up beside me. "What were you thinking, running away like that? You could've been – "
Nya finally looks up from her book, and confusion is written all over her face. "Whoa, whoa, whoa. Why are you two holding hands?"
"Um..." I blush, releasing Kai. "He wanted to run in here to get to you, so I thought I would slow him down."
She sighs and goes back to reading. "That's what they all say."
Kai throws his arms in the air. "I told you so, Skylor!"
"What did you tell whom, Kai?" a guy in black questions, walking in. I recognize him as Cole, a social kid from school. I think he's in my graduating class.
He scans all three of us, then does a double-take when he sees Kai's sister.
"Wait – Nya?" he asks, dumbfounded.
She blushes a little and waves. "Hey, Cole."
He laughs. "Oh, my goodness. I didn't even recognize you!" He holds out his palm for a high-five.
"No, no, no!" Kai growls. "Nothing to see here. Step away, Cole."
"Come on, Kai," he groans. "Your little sister is adorable! You have to admit it." He raises his voice. "Jay, come look at this!"
"No!" Kai shouts. "There will be no looking. Everyone, close your eyes and leave the room while I – "
Jay – I recognize him from yesterday – picks that moment to walk in. "What's up, Cole? Is – "
Apparently, it's a day for unfinished thoughts.
Jay's eyes round. "Nya?" he asks, awestruck.
"Hey, Jay," she says awkwardly.
"Stop!" Kai yells. "Avert your eyes! There will be no 'hey Jay's' anymore!" He turns to the boy in question. "I suppose you think Nya is 'adorable', too?"
Jay laughs nervously and scratches the back of his head. "That's not the word I would use to describe it," he mutters.
Cole is still absolutely tickled. He grabs someone's arm as he passes through the hall. "Wait up, Zane. Get a load of this!"
The newcomer – Zane – surveys his surroundings. "Hello, Jay. Kai. And Skylor – I believe I know you from our shared economics class last semester." He turns to the girl of the day. "Hello, Nya. I see you've changed your appearance. It is quite suitable for a person of your age and stature."
"Um...thanks?" Nya asks.
"He means you're cute," Cole shrugs.
"Yes, I believe that is a correct term," Zane smiles. "Cute. Some synonyms would be 'endearing, charming, appealing,' and 'winsome.'"
Kai advances on him. "I'll show you something that's not 'winsome', or whatever you call it. How about a black eye?"
"Kai," I warn, tugging on his hand again. "They don't mean anything bad by it."
"Hey, guys," a boy in green greets, entering the living room. I've seen him in a picture Nya has by her bedside, so I assume he's Lloyd. "I heard yelling. What's that all about?"
"Oh, you're going to love this," Cole grins. "Lloyd..." He places both hands over the kid's eyes. "May I introduce you to..." He spins him around. "The made-over Nya Smith!" He removes his hands from Lloyd's line of sight.
"Cole, what in Ninjago are you..." He draws the word out, gaping at Nya.
She blushes furiously, standing up. She spins around slowly. "So...um, what do you think?"
Lloyd blinks. He scrubs a hand over his eyes.
His face is still blank.
"Jay, shock me," he states.
"What? For real?" the confused brunette says.
"Just do it."
"Okay. If you're sure." He aims his hand at Lloyd, and a small lightning bolt hits the kid in the arm.
Lloyd jumps, then rubs his arm. He turns to Jay. "Thank you."
Then, he swivels back to Nya.
"What the heck do you think you're wearing?" Lloyd bursts out.
"Um..." She looks to me, asking for help.
I don't give her any sort of a meaningful response. This was not the reaction I was expecting.
Nya swallows. "Um...clothes?"
"Are you kidding me? I can see, like, ninety-eight percent of your legs!"
Kai facepalms. "That's exactly what I told her, but nobody believes me!"
Nya's fists clench at her sides, but she doesn't say anything.
I step in for her. "Lots of girls are wearing shorts that length. There's nothing inappropriate about them."
Lloyd sees me for the first time. "Who in Ninjago City are you?" Then, not waiting for me to answer, he pulls off his jacket and throws it at Nya. "Tie this around your waist! And go wash your face off, would you? It's plastered in...well, who knows what!"
"Seriously?" she cries. I can hear the hurt in her voice.
He's still fuming. "You look like...like...some ho!"
Nya is entirely speechless. Tears form in her eyes.
I don't care who this Lloyd kid thinks he is. "You idiot!" I scream, storming toward him. "You take that back right now! You're just mad because other guys have stopped to notice your best friend is hot!"
"Who even are you?" Lloyd retorts.
"She's right," Kai bellows, coming up behind me. "Sure, I may not like Nya wearing clothes that short, but you can't just insult her like that!"
Pride rises in me. I knew Kai was a good guy. He just has some rough edges.
Nya sniffles and wipes under her eye.
"Aww, Nya, don't cry," Kai begs. "Please. I don't know what to do with tears."
"I'm not taking it back, Kai," Lloyd growls. "You're just supporting whatever your girlfriend says. I actually care about my best friend's reputation."
I scoff. "Kai knows more about caring for his sister than you'll ever know about...about eating breakfast cereal!" I mean, come on! Lloyd has to know the guy has literally raised Nya for four years!
Jay puts an arm around the girl's shoulders and whispers something in her ear. She nods, and the two head into the hallway.
Cole clears his throat against the silence. "No offense, Lloyd, but that was really harsh and unfounded."
He combs his fingers through his hair. "But – I'm trying to keep her safe! Guys are going to see her and think she's some cheap solution for one night!"
I place my fingers in my mouth and whistle loudly.
Their heads all turn to me at once.
I rub my temples. "Lloyd, I just now got Kai to let Nya explore her feminine side, just a little bit. I am not dealing with another stupid guy who thinks he can keep her from getting hurt, just by controlling how she dresses and the amount of makeup she wears!"
"I'm not stupid," Kai frowns.
"Well, it's how you were acting just last night, so I don't want to – "
"What is going on in here?" an old man shouts, walking in at a pace unusual for his age.
"Have fun," I whisper to Kai, heading off to find Nya.
Eventually, I hear voices coming from a room down the hall. I slip inside to see the television is on. It looks like a videogame.
Nya is slumped against one side of the couch, controller in hand. Jay is a cautious foot from her on the same sofa.
I clear my throat. "Hey, Sis."
She pauses the game and looks over at me. Her makeup is still intact, so I guess she probably didn't cry.
"Can I go home?" she pleads.
I come to stand behind her. "Sorry, but I have to be headed home, myself, and I'm pretty sure Kai doesn't want you at the blacksmith's shop alone."
"I could go to your house," she tries.
"Sorry, but my dad would kill me for having anyone over after last night."
"What happened last night?" she frowns. Then, she turns to Jay. "Can you take me?"
His face flushes. "I, um, don't know, Nya. I mean, if Kai lets me, then sure, but I don't think he likes you being home alone."
"I'm so stupid," she sighs. "I never should've tried to change. My best friend hates it. My brother hates it. I'm not fooling anyone."
Jay blushes. "I-I think it's good you're trying to climb out of your shell. You have more guts than I do."
I sit down on the arm of the couch. "Listen, Nya, you don't listen to people like Lloyd. He's jealous and over-controlling." I want to say she should be careful with their friendship, but I know she won't listen. Instead, I go with, "He's not worth the plan we made."
"What plan?" asks a confused Jay.
"But I love Lloyd. He's my best friend." She sighs miserably. "I really just want to go home."
"Let me talk to Kai," I suggest, walking toward the door.
That's when the menace who started this whole mess appears in the doorway.
"Nya..." Lloyd trails off, seeing me advancing toward him. I'm sure that look of wariness on his face is due to my mama bear expression.
"Lloyd," I grit my teeth. "Get out."
"It's okay, Skylor," Nya says. "Let him in. You go find Kai."
"You think I'm going to leave you alone so he can insult you without reason? Fat chance." I plant my hands on my hips.
"Hey, I'm not here to insult anybody," Lloyd sighs, raising his hands in surrender. "I just want to apologize. I...I got a little over-dramatic back there."
Nya's smile is slow. "I forgive you."
"Just like that?" I scoff.
She shrugs. "It's okay. He admitted he was wrong."
He scuffs his shoe along the floor. "If it makes you feel any better, Sensei Wu sentenced me to training the rest of the day after lunch."
Nya laughs a little. "That certainly helps."
I want to scream. Nya just excuses Lloyd's behavior like it's nothing. That girl is a prime candidate for an abusive relationship.
"I'm going to go find Kai," I huff, stalking out.
I run right into a muscular chest, and I know my search was easy. His hands reach out to grasp my wrists.
"I see you were listening in on that conversation," I mumble, unentangling myself from his arms.
"What are overprotective older brothers for?" he sighs. "I don't like her being around Lloyd all the time."
"I don't, either. He's a world-class jerk to her, then he saunters in and says just the right thing, and she automatically forgives him."
"In Lloyd's defense, he has had a hard past," Kai says. "I just don't want my sister in the center of the aftermath."
"You and me both. Hey, mind if somebody takes Nya back to the blacksmith's shop?"
His expression tightens. "I don't want her alone, but I'm doomed to train the rest of the day, just like Lloyd."
"Maybe she could stay with a friend? Well – sorry, that doesn't work. I forgot she doesn't really know anyone but the team and me."
He rubs his forehead. "I'm starting to think you might be right about me being too strict."
"You'll learn to ease up on her. I'll help." I poke my head back in the room to see Lloyd has taken Jay's spot next to Nya. Jay is now at the other end of the couch, watching her longingly.
I smirk, an idea playing in my head.
"Kai, how would you feel about Nya and Jay running some errands while you and Lloyd train?"
"About the same way I'd feel about having my wisdom teeth removed."
"Okay," I groan. "How about Nya and whoever's done with training?"
"So...we're talking Jay and Cole? I don't think Zane got here all that long ago."
"Okay. Um, would that work for you?"
He ponders this.
Finally, he looks down at me. "Okay. Fine. You win. I just don't want to see her unhappy."
"Sweet." My new plan – the one where Nya does not get together with Lloyd, but actually makes some normal friends – starts now.
***So...yeah! Sorry we capped 5,000 words. Comments? Questions? Concerns? (I know I have a lot of those.) I'm trying to keep things cute and semi-realistic, but Kai and Lloyd have some real issues to deal with, guys. Make sure you root them on from the sidelines!***
