Shakshi's Pov

I stirred from my sleep. I don't remember when I fell asleep. I tried to  open my eyes but I was all tired. Oh my god! My Ari!! I was in the hospital with Ari. I stirred a little again. Then I felt someone's arms snaking around me. It holds me close against his chest. What's going on? I blinked my eyes open.

It's none other than Pratvik. My Saviour! I tried to entangle from his hold without disturbing him. He tightens his grip each time I try. His hand caressed my back making me to go back to sleep. Its the safest place I ever know. I hate to move from his embrace. But I need to check on Ari. Sorry Mr.ComfyPanda!

I pushed his arm away and sat in the cot's edge. He managed to hold my hand before I get up from the cot. I turn around to see him. His ruffled hair and his brown eyes made me do summersaults in my head. No! No! No! Go. See. Ari! I shook my head.

"Hey! Sweetpie!" his raspy voice after the sleep made him more sexy.

"I need to check on Ari." I said plainly.

He sat on supporting his elbow, looked at Ari's direction.

"She's fine. Monitor shows good status. Yet she's still unconscious."

"I need to see her." I tried to walk away.

"Wait! Come here!" he pulled me towards him. I landed on the cot and my back hit on his chest. He encircled me with one of his arm. Then he kept his palm over my forehead. I rolled my eyes at him.

"What? I'm just checking for your fever. You are good." he placed a kiss on my head.

I stormed up and stood facing him. He didn't expect this move. So he searched for my reason. He did nothing wrong. I know he loves me and care for me. But I need to stay away from him because he makes me happier even my hard times. This is definetly wrong. I feel guilty to be happy when my friend life is on cliff.

"Baby..." He again reached for me.

"No!" I shouted.

"Wh-What happened? Why are you..."

"Can you please leave?" I turned around, I can't face him.

"Why?"

"Leave."

"Aren't you feeling well? You can share about anything with me. Trust me sweetpie. I 'm with you."

Tears rolled down my cheek. I don't know whether its for hurting him or happy for his love.

"Le-Leave."

"Sorry baby. I can't let you be alone. Not in this situation. Talk to me."

Oh god! Please help me! This man is so stubborn. I just stood there. He slowly closed the gap between us and stood an inch behind me. I could feel his breathe on my back.

"Can I hug you?" his voice was just above a whispher.

Why is he asking my permission? I don't know. I inhaled sharply and closed my eyes. Mote tears fall from my eyes.

"Sweetpie! Let me take care of you. I will be there supporting you in your hard times. I know you are worried about her. But I can't let this broke your heart. I will make everything okay. Trust me littleone!"

He is taking me on cloud nine. His care and affection are beyond words. I never trusted anyone after my bad memories. But I held his hand again. I let him step into my circle. I want this to end good as I can't take another heatt break. I was frozen.

"Baby, Can I hug you? I am asking your permission because you are already vulnerable. I don't want to force you. I just..."

I turned and let myself crashed on his firm chest and sobbed. He swiftly wrapped his arms around my waist and kissed on top of my head.

"Ssshhh... I'm here. Everything's gonna be fine. Don't cry baby. Ssshhh..." he caressed my head and whispered near my head and kissing my head inbetween.

We were like that holding each other for sometime. I just want Ari and Stephan to be just like us. Why god did this to him?

"We need to talk, sweetheart." He gently wiped my tears. I snuggled into him even more. I have no idea when did I get this much close to the man I hate at our first meet. He is really something!

He tilted my chin making me to have eye contact with him. I can see all love in his eyes. He placed a soft kiss on my forehead.

"Shall we go for a walk?"

"But... Ari!" I saw her with an aching heart.

"Her anasthesia will take some time to recover. We will be back soon before she wake. I promise!" he took his phone from his pocket still holding me against his chest with one hand.

"Sister! I want you to see on Arica George for our absence." he ended his call.

Soon after, a nurse in her short skirt came into our room. I stood few steps away from him. But, her eyes roaming all over him from the moment she entered. She got a crush on him. Okay! Who didn't!?

"Yes. Dr. Pratvik! Its my pleasure. Please take your time. I'm so happy you called me. I will take care of her."
She was beaming ear to ear.

I already hate her. Why do these people behaving like that even in other's presence. Don't they have self respect? Did she even know I'm there too? I cleared my throat to have her attention. She gave me a disgust look.

"Its not visitor's time. Get out!" she pointed towards me. Seriously? She continued looking at Pratvik,"Sorry doctor! She will be thrown out now. I..."

"Stop it!" his voice boomed which made me flince.

"Watch your words! She is my..."

"Student." I cut him off before he say something stupid. Actually I'm proud of it. But I don't want a show, atleast not right now.

He rolled his eyes at me. I just shrugged my shoulders.

"I'm sorry doctor. Well, I didn't know that either." she walked towards him in a seductive way. I watched him. His face was plain with no interest. But she was beautiful, to be more correct, she was hell hot. Maybe he is enjoying secretly.

"Whatelse you want me to do doctor? You look so stressed. I can ease it up." she was standing too close to him showing her cleavage.

"Take care of her! And inform me if she wake!" he said and backed few inches from her reaching for me.

He hold his hand with me. Her eyes followed his actions. She was throwing daggers at me with her eyes. He pulled me with him taking me out of the room. We walked past her. I really need some air!

"Student? What is your name?" she asked raising an eyebrow at me with hatred.

I turned my head back and opened my mouth to answer.

"Can you wait outside for a minute?" he pushed me out the door and swing the door to close. Yet there was a small gap and I peeked through it.

"Don't play your dirty games. It won't work! And you have no idea what I can do to you!" I can see his back. He was facing that seductress crossing his arms.

"You can do whatever you want doctor. Most doctors like you once were now my boyfriends." she said playing her lips with a finger.

"Whatever? Hmm... Come here!" he said snapping at her. This made my heart skip a beat. What? I can't take this anymore. He is just like other men. I'm so mad at him.

She hoped towards him like a puppy. She licked her lips and winked at him. I can't see his face as he was facing that hottie. She tried to place her hand over his shoulder. But he ducked it!

"Wait!" he said raising one finger in the air.

He fished his phone again and dialed someone.

"Now tell me your name!" he asked her keeping his phone on his ears. What is he doing?

"Rosalie. You can call me rose!" she said running a finger over his chest. A tear slipped from my eye. I shut my mouth with my hand to prevent them hearing my sob.

"Yeah! I'm Dr. Pratvik. I called to report you about a staff. Her name is Rosalie. Fire her! Now! I will fill up the complaint later." he said it in one go.

Her eyes went wide just like mine. He grasped her hand and pushed her away. She fall on the floor.

"Stop whoring around and do your duty if you get another job." he turned around reaching the door. I moved myself away from the door and hopped a little from the room. I stood there as I didn't hear anything. He came to me.

"Come! Lets go!"

I didn't ask him about anything but just followed him behind. He stoped near the nurse station at our floor. The nurses stood abruptly at his presence.

"To the special ward, Ms.Arica George! Now! Inform me when she get back her conscious!"

Still I can see some of them checking at him. God! Get your own man and leave my man alone! I have to run to match up his speed. He was little bit tensed.

I grasped his arm, panting. I'm tired already.

"Hey! Sorry! I was in some thoughts!"

"Hmm?"

"Never mind. Lets walk on the backyard."

We just walked side by side, our hands rubbing now and then.

"So..." he started.

"How many girls dated you?" It just came as a word vomit!

He scoffed.

"I thought we were going to talk about Arica and you!"

"Fine if you are not interested to say to me." I crossed my arms and turned my head away from him.

"Its nothing like that. Come here!" He pulled me towards him.

"And promise me you won't get mad if I say the truth." After a pause.... "I had dated infinite girls. I spend many one night stands, had best chicks... before I met you. And I never cheated you since the day I saw you. I didn't believe in love until you came into my life! You are my sunshine. Please don't hate me! I'm sorry!" he lowered his head couldn't face me in eyes.

Actually I already knew this but I couldn't accept it either. I never knew he would confess to me like this. I shouldn't have asked this in first place.

"Stephan also said Ari was his sunshine." his memories clouded in my mind.

He placed me at a bench on the pavement. And just looked at me signalling to continue.

"I don't know how Ari will live without him. He cares her a lot. She was so happy with him. Stephan made her to forget the fact that she's an orphan even." my eyes filled with tears.

"Is she an orphan?"

"She got an uncle but she didn't like him. He just send her money for living. She lost her family in an accident when she was young. His uncle was taking care of her father's buisness. She again lost her loved one same in an accident."

"Do you want me to inform her uncle about the accident?"

"No! She don't want him to see her. I can take care of her. But this medical expenses... I need to ask my mom."

"You can ask me too, sweetpie!" he sat beside me placing his hand over mine.

"No! No. Thanks for saying. I can ask my..."

"Shakshi! I will take care of her bills. No more to discuss on this!" he said firmly.

"Why are you doing this?"

"Because I can! And please ask me anything. Don't hesitate. Afterall, what's mine is yours eventually!"

"Slow down! You are imagining a lot." I smacked his arm.

His phone buzzed and he attended the call.

"Okay. I'm coming!" he cut the call.

"She's awake." he said looking at me.

We went back to her room. She was looking pale, difficult to breathe. She blinked at me slowly. I ran to her and placed my hand on her arm.

"Ari... How are you feeling? Ari! Can you hear me? Ari?" I shook her lightly.

"Easy there! She needs some time." he placed his hand over my shoulder to calm me down.

"Call Dr. Sharath." he ordered the nurse and Dr.Sharath came within a minute. He checked Ari.

"She us doing great. Everything is good. She will improve soon."

Ari tried to move and flinced with pain. I calm her down. But she slurred something. I can't understand so I kept my ears closer to hear her.

"S-St-e-eph-an..."

I panicked. She still didn't know about his death. She tried to move again. Stirring in her bed making her IV line to disconnect.

"Ari! Stop! You might end up hurting yourself." I warned which she didn't care to hear.

Dr. Sharath took a sedative and gave her a shot and made her sleep again. Blood was oozing from her hand from her IV line. Tears rolled down my cheek.

"Shakshi! Lets wait outside! Let him do his job. You don't have to see this. Come!" Pratvik dragged me with him.

"She still doesn't know his death." I whispered.

"It is gonna be a hard time. But just remember I' m there for you."
