Actually I can't able to sleep last night. This girl is really something. I felt butterflies flying in my stomach. I made fun of Reni when she said all this. But now I'm paying my due!

I called Arica george. Arica is really helping me in this. Thanks to her. I should work smart to earn Shakshi's trust. And its not that easy!

"Arica. Its me!"

"Go-  Good morning sir?"

"Is Shakshi awake? I know its just 6 but I need your help."

"Oh.. she is... she is still sleeping in her room,what help? Sir?"

"Did Shakshi said anything about me?"

"Yes sir. She did." she giggled.

"Arica? What?" I became impatient.

"She said you are caring her very much. How much you were possessive when she was with Varun. But she is not sure whether to give you a chance or not, sir!"

"I don't know why she is still in dilemma! Is that all? Didn't she say you about my birthday today?"

"No? Oh! Happy..."

"Ssshhhh.... Don't! Arica stop! I want her wish to be the first!"

"Oh sorry sir! But she didn't said about that,sir!"

"Hmm. See you in class with Shakshi." I ended the call. I was filled with disappointment. Okay! This is too much to expect the very next day. But its my birthday!

I silenced my phone. I know Reni will be trying to call me. But this time my heart longed for her wish. Its not about just the wish, but my importance in her life!

I showered and dressed myself in some formal suit. I skipped my breakfast. I hate things around me. I lost interest today in everything. I drove to the college with emptiness. Atleast seeing her would make my day.

It was my lecture class in the morning so I went straight to the class. To see her. I was really mad at her a little bit. I informed her right? I did many things for her beyond my ego, can't she just wish? So adamant!

I entered the class and found her misding near Arica george! I gritted my teeth. So she planned to avoid me particularly on this day?

After the class, I signaled Arica to come out.

"Sir. She said she have some work today."

"She is really teasing my patience." I left to my cabin. I never expect this day to be like this. I went for the elevator. Varun was there, waiting too! I am not in a mood to handle him now.

So I took stairs. I climbed two steps once. I was so depressed. I opened my cabin and closed the door behind me with a bang.

"Ieekkk" someone yelped!

Shakshi was sitting there. She looks so beautiful. She caught me checking at her and looked away. Blushing. Am I dreaming?

"Hey?" I was in shock. I don't know what to say.

"Happy Birthday!"

This is what I need. Hurrah!

"Uh..hmm... Thank you!"

"You were absent for your class?" stop being stupid. Is it so important now?

"The leave application will be submitted tomorrow, sir!"  she said and stromed up from her seat. I could sense irritation from her voice.

I was really good at flirting and dating women. But I am knocked out completely when its her!

"No..no! Sit! I- I didn't mean that." I tried to calm her now!

I walked near her then I found something on her side wrapped in glitter paper. Gift? For me?

She sat down back on the sofa. I used this opportunity to sit with her. I sat beside her. She moved a little from me to make sure that there is no skin contact. Huh?

"I-Is it for me?" I pointed to the gift she was trying to hide.

"No! Its for Varun! Sir"

I frowned and got up. I turned my face away!

"Its getting late for your class!" My voice showed anger.

"Are you kicking me out? Why? Varun is not like this!"

Thats it. All my patience rushed out of the back door.

"Enough!" I boomed.

"Shakshi." I grabbed her arm tightly and pulled her up.

"Please. Leave." I spat at her. I was pissed already!

"It hurts!" she tried to release my grip with her small delicate fingers.

"You are the one hurting me!"

"I was just teasing you." her voice was low.

Damn! I released her arm. Think straight man. Why did she have to come to your cabin if she wants to gift for varun? Yeah she was just playing and you screwed up asusual.

"I'm sorry. Just don't say his name."

"Why?"

"I just hate him."

"Are you afraid that I would fall for him before you make me fall for you?" she smirked.

I widened my eyes. I didn't expect this from her. What? Is he my competitor? You went beyond limit Shakshi. I will make you understand. Wait!

"Whats in it?" I tried to change the topic.

"Oh! Yes! Here!" she handed me the gift.

"Don't imagine a lot. I'm just your friend nothing much!"

"Nothing much? Lets see." I took the gift box from her and raised my eyebrow.

"Yes. Nothing much! Just to show back my gratitude to your care and affection."

"If you really want to show your gratitude, just, just don't use his name to me again!"

"Varun?" she beamed at me.

"Shakshi..." I warned.

"Varun. Varun. Varun." she said with both her hands on her hips.

"Say it one more time and I will..." she cut me off.

"What? What will you do? V- A- R-"

She is gonna regret this!

I held her waist and pulled her closely to my chest just in a fraction of second and crashed my lips to her. First, she was frozen, widening her eyes and tightly closing her lips. But she didn't try to push me away. Thank god!

Then I held her neck in one hand and caressed her arm with another hand trying to ease her. She responded to my touch and gave in. She closed her eyes and parted her lips. She placed her hands on my hip for support!

I smiled against her lips. They were so soft like that of rose petals. I nibbled her lower lip and then her upper lip. I hope this was her first kiss by the way she is not reacting. And... I'm not complaining. I don't want to deepen the kiss and scare her. So I stop there but it was very difficult to decline those plump lips.

I kissed her lips one last time and inched back to see her face.  I hold her waist and caressed her cheek with my fingers. Her face was so beautiful. Her long black lashes from her closed eyelids complementing well with her fair skin, the red blush crept on her cheeks, her pink lips and the lipstick which she wore was smudged by my recent action. Beautiful. I chuckled!

"Shakshi." I wishpered not wanting to scare her.

She opened her eyes and blinked a couple of times and blushed hard looking down. So innocent. So pure. So naive. All mine!

I caressed her face trying to assure her that she is safe. I bent and planted a feathery kiss on her forehead.

She was litlle bit shaken. I know it was fast but I'm not regretting it anyway. This is my best birthday! To reduce the tension in air, I bent down to her ear and wishpered,

"I like it! Keep saying his name!" I chuckled.

Finally she is back. She pushed me away and ran out of my cabin!

I was so happy like that I defeated so many kingdoms in war. I kissed many women but this is so special. This feeling... The feeling of kissing your love is just beyond words to express.
I took the gift and a label says 'Happy b'day Mr. Arrogant.'

I chuckled at her nickname for me and opened the present. There was a white colored coffee cup and a wrist watch wrapped around a stress ball! I know she is smart! My Shakshi!

My intercom ringed disturbing my thoughts. I picked up!

"Good Morning sir. Your sister Renika asked you to call her, sir."

Oh no! I forgot about her. I fished my phone from my pocket. There was 21 missed calls from her. I silenced the phone today so she called my work place. Typical her.I know a storm is waiting for me!

"Okay! Thankyou."

I rang Reni. She took my call on the first ring.

"Reni. Sweetpie..."

"Happy Birthday!"

"Uhmm. Thanks! My phone was on silent mode. Thats why... I'm sorry!" I was pleading there.

"Just because its your birthday you are forgiven. Have all your dreams come true. And just be happy always. I will pray for you. Visit me when you have vaccation!"

"Sure sweety! I will"

"Is there any party today? You could have came here."

"Party?"

Yes! I could treat her today and my birthday is a nice excuse. I need a plan.

"Hello..."

"Reni. Sorry. I will call you later dear."

"Okay busy doctor! Bye!"

"Bye! Take care!"

Will she come with me after what I did today? I need to give a try atleast.

I called Shakshi and as I expected she didn't attend my call. Did I scare her that much? Its just a kiss! Yes for you man but not for her! She will really afraid to come alone with me. I need to fix this. I called Arica george.

"Are you with Shakshi?"

"No sir. I was seeing a surgery, operation theatre. Its break now sir."

"Oh. Okay! I planned to treat her."

"Great sir. Do you want me to inform her sir?"

"No! Umm- yes! Uhh... That, I want you to console her and bring her there!"

"Sir?"

"Listen Arica. Its too hard to explain. She just won't come alone. So, call some of your friends and your boyfriend and say them its a birthday treat and a discussion for that... What... Yeah, that golden jubliee event. Hope it works!"

"Okay sir. Did something happened again? Is she hurt?"

"No.. No! She's fine just.... embrassed a little." I said after a pause.

She just chuckled.

"I will bring her sir."

I ended the call and headed to my ward rounds.
