Chapter 11
Our rush back to base was spend with me holding Cassian's hand tightly and one of my men tending to his arm as best he could.
Cassian groaned in pain as i had a permanent worried face.
"I'll be okay, Stardust.", he said, noticing my expression. He gave my hand a little squeeze.
I noticed his eyes slightly shutting.
"Please stay with me, Cassian. We're almost there.", I say through tears, softly putting my hand on his face.
"I love you, Jyn.", he said, eyes almost shut.
Hell no, you don't.
"No! Stay with me, damn it.", I say, lightly slapping his face.

By the time we get to the base on Yavin IV, there is an emergency team waiting for us as we called for one on the comm link.
We land and they rush into the ship and take Cassian.
I run behind them on their way to the hospital wing.
The tears in my eyes blur my vision.
I'm about to go into the emergency room before I am stopped by a nurse.
"I'm sorry, Ma'am, but we cannot allow anyone in the emergency except medical personnel. After we attend to the patient, you may visit him.", she said calmly.
"Okay, thank you.", I say. I don't want to be in the way.
I need to go to the only place that gives me comfort other than Cassian's arms.
The memorial plaque.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I can't lose him. He is all I have left.", I say through sobs toward the large slab of stone with engravements,"He can't die now. Not after he's been through so much."
It starts to rain. Pouring down on me and the plaque, making it's light shade of grey a darker one.
It rains somewhat often on Yavin IV and in times like these, it makes me feel more depressed.
It has been two hours before I realize it. I feel my stomach weigh down on my with nervousness.
Cassian had a 50-50 chance. They could have saved him on time and stopped the bleeding or they could have failed to save him due to too much blood loss.
I walk painfully slow back to the medical center.
The moment I find out what happened. That moment can change my life forever or it can continue on blissfully like it did before.
What if this is to happen again?
I can't die or let Cassian die without promising myself to him in this life and the next one.
This experience is a wake-up call. That is...if he survived.
Before I realize it, I am standing in front of the door to the medical center.
I walk in and up to the front desk, nurses and doctors passing by, rushing here and there.
"Excuse me, I'm looking for Captain Cassian Andor. He just underwent an operation in the emergency room. Are you accepting visitations for him?", I ask, my voice shaky.
The nurse looked at me sympathetically, recognizing my worry and distress.
This is the moment. She might tell me to go to the autopsy room or a recovery room.
"Captain Andor just came out of the surgery room about 15 minutes ago. You can go see him in his room. Let me find you the room number.", she said as she looked through files," Alright, he is in room 2187."
I breath out in relief. A feeling I have never felt before. So relaxing and reassuring.
"Thank you so much.", I breath out as a speed-walk to his room.
With every corner I turn and path I walk down, I am more anxious to see Cassian. His beautiful face. Dark brown, soft hair. Chocolate brown eye. Strong jaw.
I finally find room 2187 and waste no time as I open the door.
He is asleep. The anesthesia the doctor used must still be active.
There is white bandage wrapped around the arm where he was wounded. Now, it was been treated and sewn up.
A nurse walks in and sees me.
"The anesthesia should wear off in a few.", she says as she checks that all the cables are plugged into the machines in the room.
"Ok."
She walks out and I take a seat in a chair next to the bed he lays on. I hold the hand of his uninjured arm and close my eyes.
I cannot lose Cassian. This traumatic event made me realize truly how much I want to spend the rest of my life with him.
I am nervous. We've only been together about three months. I know it's crazy to think something like this but I just have a gut feeling that he is the one. He supports me, stands by me, and loves me for who I am. No matter all the problems and difficulties I pose for him. I cannot continue fighting the fight without him by my side. He is the one and deep down, I have always known it.
I open my eyes when I hear, "Jyn".
He has awakened.
"Cass.", I say lowly.
I carefully hug him and bring my lips to his. He kisses me back with just as much passion and want.
"Thank you so much.", he says as I run my fingers through his hair.
"For what, Cassie?", I ask through soft tears.
"For saving my life. And completing the mission. You are so brave and that is one of the many reasons I love you."
He holds a hand to my cheek which I lean into, desperate for his touch.
"Oh, Cass. I love you. Thank the Force you're okay. It could have been much worse.", I say in relief.
"Well, that is true but...this means that we can't have sex for the next few weeks.", he jokes, although it's true.
I give his good arm a light punch as we both laugh. Little bastard. My little bastard.
"What's wrong?", he asked, concerned, when he sees my smile fade away.
"Nothing. It's just that what happened made me realize something. Something important.", I say.
"What, Stardust?", he says, rubbing his thumb over my hand.
"That I want to spend the rest of my life with you.", I say confidently.
Cassian sat there with a surprised look on his face.
"Cass, you are the reason my nightmares subside. You are the reason I have any ounce of happiness in me. I know I've only really known you for some months now but I can't wait. I know you are the one. This is very untraditional but fuck tradition.", I say as I look into his astonished eyes, "Captain Cassian Andor. Marry me.", I finish, kneeling by his bedside at this point.
He is in tears. As am I.
"Come here.", he guides me onto the bed so I am straddling his waist.
"I will marry you, my sweetly annoying...bossy...obnoxious...beautiful Stardust.", he says between peppering kisses all over my face.
I snake my arms around his neck as I crash my lips into his. They move in perfect synchronization, as does our love. He grabs my waist with his good hand and kisses me back with just as much force.
"We're crazy, aren't we?", I say as we part our lips.
"Yea but...who cares?", he says, as we giggle, confirming that we are crazy.
"I'm gonna marry the shit out of you.", Cassian says with determination in his eyes.
Author's Note:
So this was slightly inspired by my mom's accident. Yesterday, on Mother's Day, my mom was walking down a slightly wet path (it was raining) and slipped. She broke a bone in her knee and as I am posting this chapter, she is getting surgery for her injury. I was pretty struck by it. But she will be fine, thankfully.
Anyways, aren't you guys excited for a Jassian wedding?! Well, sorry cause you'll have to wait a little for the wedding.
I've always loved the idea of the girl asking the guy to marry her. If i ever get married, that's how I want to propose.
Cute pic, huh? They are so cute together.
Please remember to vote.
May the Force be with you guys.
