The Project

Marinette's POV

We all got situated back in our seats and the teacher handed us each a slip of paper as if nothing had happened. It had a list of instructions. Probably another project.

"We will be doing a project on Ladybug and Chat Noir. I have put you in random pairs. The project is do make a presentation on one of the superheroes. You may do any of the options listed on your sheet. I have assigned you each to a different form of the presentation. Now, one of the pairs will be doing a play for us. I will draw a name out of this hat. If you do not want to do a play, just say pass and I will draw another name," Ms. Bostier explained.

"I hope I can do the play!" Alya whisper yelled.

"You'll have to wait and see," Marinette whispered back.

"The pairs are Chloé and Sabrina, Alix and Kim, Juleka and Nathanaël, Rose and Max, Myléne and Ivan, Alya and Nino, and Marinette and Adrien. You may go to your partners," Ms. Bostier said. Everyone moved to their partners. I moved up to the front row, next to Adrien. "I will now draw the name for the pair that is doing the play." She reached her hand into the hat that had all of our names in it and grabbed on out. "Marinette. Would you and Adrien like to do the play?"

Adrien nodded. "Yes," I replied. Groans were heard across the room. Everyone wanted to do the play. Ms. Bostier handed me the instructions for the play.

"The following pairs will be doing a speech: Chloé and Sabrina, Juleka and Nathanaël, and Myléne and Ivan. The pairs doing the presentation are Alix and Kim, Rose and Max, and Alya and Nino. You may begin," Ms. Bostier explained.

Adrien's POV

I wanted to do this play because it would be the easiest since I was Chat Noir. I would be able to make it sound like him.

"So, Adrien, what is our play gonna... Oh, no..." Marinette's voice trailed off. She was looking at the directions for the play. I looked where she was looking and mentally kicked myself. We had to dress up as Ladybug and Chat Noir. The class would figure out that I'm Chat Noir for sure.

I wondered why Marinette had such a problem with it, though I gave her a confused look.

"Why do you have a problem with us dressing up?" I asked.

"Oh, uh, I... would have to... make the costumes for it... And it takes a long time..." Marinette replied. That makes sense. She does fashion designing, so she could design our costumes.

"You don't have to do that," I told her.

"But I want to," she said.

"Okay," I said.

"We should start working on the script. You're friends with Chat Noir, so do you know something he does all the time?" Marinette asked. I obviously knew because I was him.

"Yeah, he makes a lot of puns," I replied, trying not to smile. Marinette smirked. I was afraid why she would be smirking.

"Okay. Then we should call our story A Day Without Puns," she said. Really? Why would she do this to me? I had to agree, or else it might be suspicious.

"Um...Sure," I replied.

"Okay, so... We should start it when they're about to patrol. Then Chat Noir won't make a single pun. Then they start patrol and afterwards, Ladybug can ask him why he hasn't made a pun. Then Chat Noir could say 'Looks like you spotted the difference.' Then Ladybug can challenge him to go an entire day without saying a single pun and Chat Noir accepts and asks what he will get in return. Ladybug tells him he can have whatever he wants and Chat Noir can say he wants to go on a date with her. Ladybug accepts and is sure she will win. The next day, Chat Noir gets all the way through to the evening without making a pun. Then he says a pickup line. Then Ladybug finds out that she has to go on a date with Chat Noir. The end," Marinette explained. Wow. She had just told me an entire story and now she wants us to make it into a play. I was impressed with her.

"Um... Sure," I replied.

"Do you think we could meet up after school?" Marinette asked.

"Um...Sure. I don't have anything going on except a photoshoot, but I can come to your house to work on the script afterwards. You could probably work on our costumes until I get there," I replied.

"Okay. Sounds good. We should write a summary of the play so we know what to do. Could you write it?" Marinette asked.

"Um...Sure," I answered. I felt like I was saying 'Um...Sure.' way to much. It seemed like the only thing I was saying.

"Good. I can start drawing the costumes," Marinette said.

Marinette's POV

I got out a piece of paper and started drawing the costumes. It was pretty easy to draw Ladybug's costume since I was her. I realized that I would be wearing it and everyone would find out our identities. I had to make it a little different than my suit. I wasn't sure how, though. I decided to just go with it.

Then I got an idea. I could make the suit with a different shades of red and black than the the normal suit. Then it would be easier to hide my identity. I decided that since I was doing it to Ladybug's outfit, I should also do it to Chat Noir's. It would make more sense.

I had finally finished Ladybug's suit when Adrien said he was finished with the summary. It was in different words and there were a few details missing, but we didn't have to put in every little detail. After all, we were just gonna be making things up as we went.

Adrien examined my drawing wide eyes. He looked impressed with it. I guess he thought it was really close to Ladybug's actual suit. Just different shades of the same colors.

"That's amazing, Marinette. You are really good at designing! It looks a lot like Ladybug's actual suit!" Adrien exclaimed. He sounded very impressed at my designing skills. I did want to be a fashion designer when I grew up. "You're also really good at drawing!" Wow. I was getting complements on drawing my own suit. I guess I was pretty good at designing and drawing. I was proud of my drawing.

"I can't wait to see Chat Noir's suit! I bet it'll look just as good!" Adrien complemented. I was very flattered by his words. I blushed a little when he said Chat Noir. Was I really that much in love with him? I wasn't sure.

"Thanks, Adrien. That's so kind of you," I thanked him.

"Yeah, I'm just that kind of guy," he joked. I laughed.

"I guess so," I said.

"So, are you going the Ladybug and Chat Noir celebration for their first anniversary?" Adrien asked. Why would we be having an anniversary? We weren't married or even engaged. We weren't even dating!

"They aren't married! I'm sure I could go though," I said. Adrien looked at me with wide eyes.

"No! They've just been fighting crime for a year! Tomorrow is the first day they started! There is gonna be a celebration for them! I won't be able to make it, though. I have a couple photoshoots," he explained. Oh, yeah. I totally forgot about it. Wait. I can't go! I have to be there as Ladybug. Marinette can't be there if she is. I had to make up an excuse.

"Oh, yeah," I said.

"I'll tell Alya that you can go," Adrien said. Noooooo! That is a very bad idea. Now I really needed to come up with an excuse.

Then I got an idea. I could go home and then call Alya and tell her that I won't be able to make it because I was busy. I would tell her that I had to run some errands for my parents or something like that. It was the perfect excuse for going to the celebration.

"Okay," I said.

Adrien's POV

I walked over to Alya and Nino. They looked up at me expectantly.

"Are you guys going to the Ladybug and Chat Noir celebration?" I asked.

"Of course!" Alya replied. "How could I miss something like that?"

"I'll be there too, dude," Nino said.

"I won't because I'll be at a photoshoot, but Marinette will be there," I explained.

"Great! I'll call her after school," Alya said.

I walked back to Marinette.

"Alya's gonna call you after school," I told her.

"Okay," Marinette said. The bell rang for us to switch. I grabbed my stuff and went to my next class. We were gonna have a good time writing our script.

That was the 3rd chapter. Hope you liked it. Please comment, vote, and enjoy! If you follow me, I'll follow you back! Bug out! 🐞
