Something kicked Amber's back,and she woke with a start.

"What...?"She rubbed her eyes.

Oh crap.

Petra was writhing in her sleep,but it wasn't like she was having a nightmare.If she was writhing this hard,wouldn't she have woken up already?

Surely Petra would have bumped into something else?

Maybe not.She wasn't awake.

Amber considered waking Olivia.Olivia was smart.Maybe she knew what was happening to Petra.

Petra kicked out and nearly caught Amber's leg.

This is so weird.

She went over to Petra and poked her,but she didn't wake up.Amber jumped back as Petra kicked again.Something wasn't right here.

Should I wake someone?What if this happens often,and I'm not supposed to interfere?

Amber put some space in between herself and Petra,then watched.Sure,Petra had tried to kill her a couple of times,but maybe that was Amber's own fault.Maybe something she did offended Petra in a way she didn't understand?

Petra writhing continued,and Amber realised what was happening.

Amber's mouth flew open but she couldn't do anything.No screams.No gasps.

She had never seen this before.

It had never happened to herself.

A redish wolf looked up at Amber.

Petra had shifted in her sleep.

Amber had to move slowly.Anything could scare Petra into busting open the door,which wasn't boarded up anymore,then it would take a while to get her back.

Amber slowly crawled over to Olivia.Shifting would probably scare Petra as well.

Her wolf side must get restless easily.

Then Petra looked around and Amber froze.Just instincts.Freezing wouldn't make Petra scared.

But apparantly too many humans would.

Petra's hackles rose,and she looked around frantically,probably trying to find an escape route.

"No,no,no,no."Amber whispered.

She crawled over to Olivia.

"Olivia.Olivia.Olivia."She shook Olivia.

"What are you doing?"Olivia murmured.

Amber pointed to wolf Petra.

"Wait-"Olivia's voice rose.

"Shhhhh!"Amber shushed Olivia.

But Petra's attention went to the duo,and she let out a low growl.

"Shift or something!Bring her back!"Olivia urged.

"If I go toward her she'll bolt.If I shift she'll bolt."Amber explained.

"This isn't good.She sleep shifted?Or got to cold?"Olivia froze as the wolf looked into her eyes.

"The first one."Amber whispered.

Petra growled again,then turned to the door.At that moment,Jesse woke up.What woke her,Amber wasn't sure.

"What the...?"Jesse gasped.

The sudden noise made Petra turn to her,then Petra bolted for the door,seeing the night sky through the little windows at the top.

"No!"Olivia gasped.

Petra growled and hit the door with her head.It opened.It wasn't iron.

And Petra bolted.

Jesse shrieked,making Lukas and Axel wake up.

"What's up?"Axel looked around.

Amber looked at the door.

Gotta get her back.

I have to.

If I want more friends.

Maybe she will stop trying to kill me.
