Late at night, Tira laid in her princess like bed staring up at the frilly canopy as silent tears streamed down her cheeks. Her nightly routine. Everyone else in the house had already gone to sleep. She rolled onto her side and picked up one of the soft teddy bears. She frowned as she picked it up, unable to feel its softness. More tears streamed down her cheeks. She hurled the bear away from her.

'Tap'

Tira peered through the darkness and saw a shadow pass by the window.

'Tap'

She sat up and strained to see in the dark. There was a tall figure standing outside her bedroom window.

'Tap'

A gaunt face that looked somewhat skeletal at first with the dark mottled flesh beneath the eyes and covering the lower jaw peered through the window. Her heart fluttered in her chest; it was her twin. She shoved off the bed and ran to the window. If her body had the capacity to feel she'd have moved slower as her injured knee tried to protest but the damaged girl was too broken to feel it. A smile lit up her face as she threw open the window.

"Nii-chan." She almost leapt out the window after him but stopped as he chuckled softly and placed a hand to her forehead halting her in place. The moment he made contact with her, she felt a sharp throbbing pain in her knee and hurriedly took weight off her injured leg as a hiss of pain escaped her.

Toya ducked into her room and shook out his long dark jacket. It had started to rain on his way over. His turquoise eyes fell on the bandages around Tira's knee and he felt a spark of rage ignite within him.

"What happened?" He asked her quietly trying to keep himself calm.

"I tripped." Tira bowed her head feeling embarrassed at her own clumsiness.

Toya let out a sigh of relief as he realized it was her own doing. Tira attempted to hug him again and he avoided her as he realized she'd be in pain if she did so, "I don't want to hurt yo-."

Tears welled in her steel grey eyes, "I don't care if it hurts." She sniffled, "I just want to feel your arms around me."

Toya's heart swelled in his chest, moved by her sweet words. He couldn't bear to see her cry and reluctantly gave in. He stepped toward her and wrapped her in his arms. Her body tensed at first as she was hit with the pain from her knee before she relaxed in his warm embrace able to block out the pain and enjoy the love and warmth enveloping her. The twins stood locked in a loving embrace for a long moment. Soon, Tira's body began to shake as the pain in her knee became too much. She bit her lip and tried to keep a straight face not wanting Toya to release her. Toya frowned, he could feel her pain and knew it was too much for her.

"You don't have to act so brave." Toya kissed the top of her head before sweeping her off her feet.

Now that she was no longer standing it was a little easier to bear. Tira threw her arms around her brother's neck and looked into his eyes. "Nii-chan?"

"Hm?"

"Are you going to take me with you tonight?"

Toya smiled down at his pure hearted sister, "only for a little bit."

"Oh." Tira looked somewhat deflated as she realized he hadn't come to take her away with him for good.

"Although, perhaps you're not up for it." He teased her, "I guess I'll have to come back another night." He made a move to deposit her on the bed and couldn't help but smile as Tira let out an adorable squeak and clung to him tightly.

"No, no, I'm up for it, I'll go, I'll go!" She panicked not wanting to get left behind.

"You don't even know what it is." He snickered causing her face to redden.

"No...but I want to spend time with you." She sniffled, and gave him a misty-eyed smile that tugged at his heart strings.

"You better not show this expression to anyone else." Toya gently cupped her face in his hand easily managing to balance her with one arm.

"Huh?" Tira tilted her head to the side curiously, "what expression?"

Toya smiled at her sweet naivety. "Never mind." He gently set her on her bed and Tira felt a fleeting moment of panic as she thought he was going to take his leave. She relaxed as he made his way to her closet.

"What are you doing?" She asked him curiously.

"Did you want to go in your pajamas?" Toya chuckled, "I personally don't mind but I don't think you'd appreciate it if I burned every creep that ogled you."

A blush claimed Tira's cheeks. "Nii-chan, that wouldn't be very nice."

"I suppose not." He replied with a shrug from inside her walk-in closet, "best to avoid it then." He grabbed a nearby dress in a dark grey and found a comfortable looking turquoise colored sweater to go with it.

Tira looked up as her brother returned. She reached up to take the clothes from him and a soft gasp escaped her as he caught her hand in his and gently tugged her to her feet. "A-Ah, Nii-chan, what are you doing?" Her face flushed scarlet as he reached out as if he were going to unbutton her pajama top.

Toya noticed the blush spreading across her cheeks, "why are you embarrassed? I've helped you change many times before. What's different now?" He smirked wondering if Tira was finally allowing herself to return his feelings.

"I'm n-not embarrassed, I just d-don't need help." Tira replied growing flustered.

"Why is your face so red then?" Toya mused.

"I-it's not!" Tira made a move to shove him away from her.

Deciding she'd had enough and he didn't want her to hurt herself trying to hit him, Toya turned around with a sigh so she could change. Tira hurriedly changed before stepping into a pair of black flats. Once she finished changing, she tapped Toya on the shoulder.

He turned to her with a smile and whisked her off her feet delighting in the adorable squeal that escaped her. "Ready?"

"Where are we going?" Tira asked him curiously as she concealed a wince of pain, her knee was really hurting, she had a feeling all her running around might have ripped out a few stitches. She glanced at the alarm clock on her nightstand and frowned, "is anything even open at this hour?" it was two in the morning.

"I know a few places." Toya chuckled as he climbed out her window. He glanced around; the rain appeared to have stopped. He held Tira tight and took off at a run whisking her off into the night.

Tira felt anxious as they soon made their way to an unsavory part of the city. It had the highest crime rate than any other neighborhood in the city. She unconsciously tightened her hold on Toya, clinging tightly to him as he carried her through a dark alley.

Toya resisted the urge to laugh, she was too cute for her own good, "you do realize you and I are stronger than everyone else here." He smirked.

"We don't know that." Tira squeaked.

"I'll keep you safe, always." He assured her as he carried her to a door within the alley. It had a pink neon sign hanging over it that read 'VR'cade and karaoke' though some of the letters were out so it read 'V_'c_d_ _n_ k_r_o_e'.

Toya stepped inside, he knew it was a shady business, the business was just a front for their money laundering but it was always open and they did have some neat virtual reality rooms for rent. The food was mediocre but they served great drinks.

As Toya carried Tira inside, she tensed as she saw some scary looking men exchange money for a duffel bag from a tall sleazy looking man with greasy pale hair and circular rimmed glasses. The shady men turned as the twins stepped inside. A tall man behind the counter got to his feet and came around to greet them. He looked annoyed but made an effort to be polite as he realized the cute girl was injured and they weren't some obnoxious drunk couple here to cause a ruckus.

"What you need?" He asked gruffly.

Tira flinched and buried her face in Toya's shoulder. Toya threw a dark look at the man his quirk activated reflexively and bright blue flames sprang to life atop his head looking like wicked horns made of hellfire. The man took a wary step back and held his hands up for peace, something in the boy's eyes sent a chill down his spine and he had a feeling if he crossed him in anyway, he'd be dead in a heartbeat and no one here would be strong enough to stop him.

Once the man had backed away enough, Toya calmed himself and dismissed his quirk, "a room, please."

"Alright." The man grabbed a key from under the counter as Toya placed some money on the counter. He handed Toya the key.

"Thank you." Toya smiled coolly before walking down the hall the man indicated to find the room they were given.

Once they were out of earshot, Tira slowly lifted her head and looked to her brother warily, "Nii-chan, what do you think those guys were doing?"

"Hm?"

"They gave that guy money..."

Toya frowned; he didn't want to lie to her but he also didn't need her to know what kind of place this was. "I saw some signs about a missing bag, perhaps it was reward money." He felt guilty for lying especially when she bought it so easily.

"Oh...now I feel bad for getting the wrong idea about them." She bowed her head.

Toya chuckled, "you're far too pure for this world."

"I feel like you're making fun of me." Tira pouted as they came to a stop outside a door with the number 6 on it.

"I'd never." Toya smirked as he unlocked the door and carried her inside. There was a comfy booth around a low sitting table and projectors all around the room. He set her on the bench and went over to a small monitor next to the door to order some drinks. "What do you want to drink?"

"Do they have strawberry milk tea?" Tira asked as she looked around the bare room curiously.

"Why did I bother asking." Toya snickered at his innocent little sister, "Never mind, I'll pick for you." He ordered her a strawberry daquiri and got himself a drink.

"Hey! Now I know you're making fun of me!" Tira whined and continued looking around the room. There was nothing here. "Nii-chan, why are we here?"

Toya smiled as he selected the scenery. "For Fireworks."

"Fireworks?" Tira asked him curiously.

"You'll see." Toya finished making his selections.

A few moments later the man from before appeared with two alcoholic beverages. He felt a little less apprehensive around the freaky boy with the patchy skin as he got a nice tip for bringing them drinks. Perhaps the boy was just protective of the cute girl he'd brought with him. The man could understand that and respected it. He offered them both a polite nod of his head and took his leave.

Tira looked at the strange somewhat frozen drink. It was bright pink in color and had a mini umbrella sticking out of the side. "What is it?" She asked her brother curiously as she accepted it from him.

"Try it." Toya chuckled.

Tira took a sip from the crazy colorful straw. It was sweet at first and tasted like strawberries, but it had a strange aftertaste that made her scrunch up her face. Toya laughed at her adorable reaction.

"Don't like it?" He mused.

"No, it's good, at first, but it has a funny after taste." Tira pouted before taking another sip. The after taste wasn't so bad the second sip. She took another and it started to go away. Soon her drink was almost empty and she didn't get any bad aftertaste with it. When she looked up to tell Toya the weird taste was gone, she found another drink sitting on the table and Toya shaking his head at her and laughing quietly. "What?" She blushed as she took a sip of her new drink.

"Nothing." He snickered. "Ready for fireworks?"

Tira nodded though regretted it a little as the room seemed to spin for a moment. It was gone once she stopped nodding. Frowning at the drink in her hand as she suspected it was somehow responsible for the funny feeling in her head, she set it down. Toya smiled and moved next to her. He draped an arm across her shoulders and leaned back pulling her with him so they were laying atop the booth together looking at the ceiling. He pressed a button on a remote and all the projectors whirred to life. Tira gasped as their surroundings seemed to magically change. The ceiling looked like the night sky, the walls and floor looked like the outside.

Hidden speakers emitted the sounds of crickets and other nighttime critters making it feel like they were really laying under the stars. Tira looked around the room in wonder. Toya smiled as he saw the glow in her eyes and the bright smile on her lips. He held her close waiting for the fireworks to start.

The sky above lit up and the boom of fireworks practically shook the room. Tira let out an adorable squeal of delight as bright colorful explosive lights lit up the night sky. Toya felt a lightness in his chest and a sense of peace and calm wash over him at the heavenly sound of her joy. He lightly caught her by the chin and tilted her face toward his.

"I love you." He breathed softly, staring into her bright steel grey eyes.

Tira felt her breath hitch in her throat, she had a feeling it wasn't a normal 'I love you' that siblings would exchange. If she said it back it would mean something different, something taboo. She bit her lip as she hesitated for a moment before leaning into him.

"I love you too." A single tear escaped her as she gave in to sin and kissed him. There was no turning back now.

Toya's lips pulled into a smile against hers and she let out a muffled yelp as he easily maneuvered them so that she was lying flat on her back on the bench with him laying overtop of her. Tira's heart pounded in her chest so hard she was sure he could feel it. Her head felt like it was swimming as she melted beneath him, his kiss spreading fire through her core. Her mind raced as Toya gently touched her neck. She feared he'd try to do more and felt panic grip her as she realized she wasn't quite ready and she knew nothing when it came to these types of matters.

Toya broke the kiss as he felt Tira begin to tremble beneath him. "Tira?" he gently smoothed her hair back in a soothing manner trying to calm her down.

"I'm sorry." She squeaked.

"For what?" Toya frowned.

Tira's cheeks turned a bright shade of scarlet. "I don't know what I'm doing." She buried her face in her hands.

Toya couldn't help but laugh, she was far too innocent. "You don't have to apologize." He sat up pulling her with him and placed her on his lap. "If anyone should apologize it's me. I may have gone a little too far." He kissed the top of her head affectionately. "I blame the alcohol."

"Alcohol?" Tira looked up at him curiously. "When did you have alcohol?"

"We had alcohol, moments ago." Toya chuckled.

"Huh?! Me too?" Tira squeaked causing Toya to lose his composure. He nearly doubled over laughing. His sides soon began to ache from laughing so much. "H-Hey!" Tira pouted.

Toya regained his composure and smiled down at her, "what am I going to do with you?"

Tira felt her cheeks redden again, "love me?"

"Always." He vowed.

The twins finished their drinks, though Tira once again forgot it was alcoholic until she took her last sip. As she remembered she started to panic causing her brother to laugh at her expense once more. Toya ordered them more drinks and the adorable process repeated. They played a VR racing game which Tira was absolutely terrible at. She finished in dead last every time and always ended up going the wrong way but they had a blast. Once their time was up, Toya carried Tira out of the room.

"Hey, my knee doesn't hurt anymore." Tira gasped suddenly as Toya exited the building and stepped into the alley.

"Probably the alcohol's doing." Toya chuckled, "should have known you'd be a lightweight."

Tira pouted feeling like her brother was making fun of her again. The cool night air felt nice on her hot skin. Why did she feel so hot? She tried to roll up the sleeves of her sweater, "it's hot."

"Also, the alcohol." Toya snickered enjoying her cute reactions.

Tira fell asleep on the way home. Toya took her back home and managed to successfully sneak back into her room. He laid her on her bed and took off her shoes before finding a simple nightshirt to dress her in as he didn't want to mess with buttons from the previous pajamas she'd been wearing. As he got her undressed his gaze lingered to the scars around her ribs from when she'd had to have surgery to repair damage to her lungs. Seeing her scars renewed his hatred of his father and made him that much more determined to bring him down. After getting her into pajamas and tucked into bed he leaned forward and kissed the top of her head.

"I will get you out of here, someday, I promise. I'll give you the life you deserve. We can see fireworks and ride merry-go-rounds every day." He kissed her sweetly on the lips. "I love you, Tira."
