Toya lingered outside the school waiting for the opportune moment to approach his twin. She looked better than when he'd last seen her. It seemed like she was taking better care of herself, or their siblings were. No longer, did she resemble a skeleton wasting away, she was still thin but a healthier thin and appeared to have blossomed and grown even more beautiful in his absence. In the time he was separated from his twin, he'd grown stronger. He wasn't sure if he was strong enough to defeat their father but he knew it wouldn't be much longer before he could surpass him in strength and make him pay for all he'd put Tira through.

He wanted to steal her away but he didn't want to subject her to the life on the streets he'd been living. She deserved so much better. While living on the streets, he'd learned about a villain known as The Hero Killer, a villain who killed those he deemed as false heroes. His philosophy was something Toya could get behind, growing up with the man he believed to be the biggest false hero to ever exist. It gave him a new sense of purpose. With his new sense of purpose, he'd taken on a new name and was going by Dabi.

His gaze flicked upward as he saw a flash of grey and white in one of the windows on the second floor. Tira was standing in the window rocking a crying infant in her arms. Her steel grey eyes looked his way immediately latching onto him and he couldn't help but smile. Seeing her had calmed him. He'd been weighed down by guilt and regret at first after failing to run away with her when he got her out of her cell. Even now he'd sometimes lay awake at night and wonder what would have happened if he hadn't expended most of his energy hunting down and capturing the orderly who had tormented Tira. The orderly was still considered a missing person, no one would ever find his body. He'd served as a great way to take out his anger after being bested by his father and losing Tira. If he'd been at his full strength, could he have wounded his father enough to get Tira away back then?

Around noon, he sensed her getting closer, heading for the exit of the school and smiled faintly to himself as he ducked into a nearby alley across the street from the school between a coffee shop and a deli. He concealed himself in the alley and watched as Tira exited through the main double doors. She looked like a movie starlet as she exited the building and a gentle breeze swept around her causing the skirt of her dress to flutter a little. He watched as she smoothed it back down and looked around trying to find him.

He stayed hidden as she looked both ways before crossing the street. His heart clenched as he noticed a brief moment of panic cross her face as she desperately searched for him. It took all he had to stay hidden as she hesitantly stepped into the alley. Once she walked past him, he stepped forward and wrapped his arms around her from behind. She jumped at first before relaxing as she realized she could feel his touch and knew it was her twin.

Tira spun around in his arms, her eyes lighting up, and let out a squeal of delight as she jumped into his arms, throwing her arms around his neck and hugged him tight. "Nii-chan!"

Toya chuckled as he hugged her back and noticed that in their current position her feet didn't touch the ground. He held back a laugh, he'd gotten taller in their time apart. Holding her in his arms, it was the first time he'd felt calm in nearly two years. He wanted to whisk her away right then and there but stopped himself. His life now was far too dangerous and unstable to drag her into his world and Tira was far too sweet and pure, he couldn't allow himself to corrupt her into villainy. Reluctantly he set her on her feet.

After a moment her smile fell and her lips pulled into a pout before she swatted at him. Her small clenched fists lightly struck him in the chest. He couldn't help but let out a laugh, her feeble strikes did absolutely nothing.

"What are you doing?" He asked her with a chuckle.

"What took you so long!" She pouted adorably and continued swatting at him until he gently caught her thin wrists in his hands and firmly held her in place keeping her hands against his chest so she could feel his racing heart pounding in his chest.

"Sorry, I had some things to take care of." He smiled.

"What things?" Tira asked him softly. She tried to take a step back but found herself incapable of breaking from his hold.

"Don't worry about it." Toya gently tugged on her wrists guiding them to rest on his shoulders before releasing them and wrapping his arms around her waist. "How much time do you have until your prison warden notices you're missing?"

Tira frowned at her brother, "that's not very nice to Fuyumi..."

Toya smirked, "I suppose you're right, but you didn't deny it."

Her cheeks reddened and she averted her gaze. At times Fuyumi's hovering did make her feel like she was being suffocated. She ignored his teasing, "she'll be in a staff meeting for two hours."

"I guess it'll have to do." Toya shrugged before sweeping her off her feet delighting in the adorable squeak of surprise that escaped her.

"Nii-chan!" Tira yelped as he cradled her in his arms and took off at a run down the alley. She clung tightly to him and buried her face in his shoulder afraid they'd fall.

Once they were a few blocks away, Toya stopped running and chuckled as he realized Tira was still clinging onto him for dear life. He shook her gently. Tira lifted her head and noticed he'd taken her to an empty playground at a park. She looked up at him curiously before attempting to wriggle out of his hold. She was able to get free only because he released her though he let her think she'd managed it on her own.

"Where to first?"

Tira smiled and skipped over to the swing set. She smoothed down her dress before taking a seat on one of the swings and looked to the one beside her expectantly waiting for Toya to join her. She jumped slightly when she felt her swing jolt as he grabbed the chains keeping her suspended and pulled her back before letting her go causing her to propel forward.

"Hey!" She tried to sound upset but couldn't help but giggle as she swung forward, "you're supposed to swing with me."

Toya smiled, "this is more fun."

Tira turned to glance back at her brother. Her heart fluttered in her chest as she saw him smile. Her gaze drifted across his scarred skin. She faintly remembered being in a somewhat feverish state clawing at the spots where his burns seemed to have been the most serious. Toya noticed her looking at his scars and caught her as she returned to him. He held her still for a moment and looked at the revealed scars poking out of the neck of her dress. They looked like they'd been caused by deep scratches. He saw a few more poking out of the sleeve of her dress and frowned he had a hunch they'd been self-inflicted and that she'd been feeling his pain when it happened. Guilt tied his stomach into knots. Every time he got hurt, it hurt her.

He leaned forward and pressed his forehead against the back of her shoulder. Tira's heartbeat quickened. Her breath hitched in her throat and she felt heat spread through her entire body. "N-Nii-chan?" She squeaked.

Toya felt a small smile tug at the corners of his lips as he crossed the chains causing her to spin around to face him. She gripped the chains tightly to keep from toppling out of the swing. Her cheeks reddened as she came face to face with her twin and realized he was much too close. Her mind thought back to the times he'd kissed her inappropriately and her heart skipped a beat with excitement at the thought of him doing it again before she mentally scolded herself.

"T-Toy-?" He stole her words away with a kiss causing her to freeze up. Warmth spread through her core. Her eyes fluttered closed. There was a tiny voice in the back of her mind telling her this was wrong and she should push him away, but she couldn't.

Toya pulled away and traced a finger over her soft lips, "I'm going by Dabi now."

Tira leaned back and frowned, "why do you need an alias?"

"It helps me stay hidden." He shrugged.

A sad look clouded Tira's face, "so, you're not coming home?"

Toya shook his head, "no."

Tears welled in Tira's steel grey eyes, "please." She begged him.

Toya gently wiped away her tears. "I can't."

Tira threw her arms around his middle, "then take me with you." She choked.

Toya placed a hand to the back of her head and held her close, "I can't do that just yet but I promise, I will, soon."

"...you said you'd never let go..." Tira sniffled her words pulling at his heart strings. He felt sick with himself, he'd successfully upset her.

Toya hugged her tight, "I know, I'll make it right."

Tira frowned she didn't like the sound of that, "that's easy, just come home...dad's getting better...he's trying..."

"Sorry, I can't forgive him for what he did to you." Toya's voice came out in a growl and he regretted it instantly as Tira clung to him tightly in terror, she didn't like it when he was angry. He sighed and glanced around for something to make her smile. He spotted a nearby food vender with a crepe cart and smiled before disentangling himself from her, "stay put." He kissed the top of her head and released his hold on the chains causing her to spin back around with a cute squeak before he raced off to get her a strawberry crepe.

"H-hey! T-Dabi!" Tira yelled flustered as he bolted away from her, she'd almost slipped up and called him by his name, if he was using an alias that meant he didn't want people to know his real identity. Had he made enemies?

She got to her feet and spun around as she sensed him returning. As she opened her mouth to scold him for taking off, a warm soft fluffy strawberry crepe found its way into her mouth. Surprised she let out a panicked squeak and pulled back managing to get some strawberry filling on the corner of her lip.

"N-Nii-chan!" She stomped her foot adorably looking like she was ready to throw a tantrum as she was overcome with embarrassment.

Toya held back a laugh, she always had the cutest reactions. He leaned forward and kissed her sweetly stealing the strawberry filling from her lips with a smile. "Sorry." He stifled a laugh as she buried her burning face with her hands once she realized her hair was pulled back and she couldn't hide behind it anymore. He held the crepe out to her again.

Tira reluctantly moved closer. She tried to grab the crepe from his hands and blushed as he refused to hand it over intending to make her eat it out of his hand. "Nii-chan, stop teasing me." She fidgeted with the hem of her dress feeling embarrassed and a little self-conscious.

It took every ounce of willpower he had not to steal her away in that moment. He offered her the crepe again and smiled as she reluctantly leaned forward and took a bite. His heart fluttered in his chest as her eyes lit up and she let out a cute involuntary 'yum' sound before taking another bite. He couldn't help but chuckle at her.

Tira pouted as she heard him teasing her again before smiling softly to herself. She reached out and got a heaping of whipped cream on her finger before throwing him a crippling smile, "close your eyes."

Toya reluctantly did as she bid while trying to keep a straight face. He waited for her to tell him to open his mouth, but nothing happened. As he was about to ask her what she was doing he felt a glob of whipped cream smear across the side of his face. Tira's beautiful laughter enveloped him and his heart felt lighter than it had in years at the lyrical sound. He opened his turquoise eyes in time to see her scampering away to hide in the jungle gym.

He couldn't help but laugh at her, "hey, get back here!" He raced after her his heart rejoicing in the sound of her cute squeals of laughter as she scrambled up the small ladder into the giant plastic playground palace.

Toya scrambled after her a little less gracefully as he still had a crepe in one hand and wasn't as small or nimble as his twin and couldn't easily maneuver through the jungle gym. It was difficult for him to get through the small tunnels and he nearly got stuck when the floor turned into thick netting. He could hear Tira's soft giggles echoing through the jungle gym.

He smiled mischievously as he thought of how to trap her and get her back. He stuck his foot through the netting making it appear as if he were stuck and called out to his giggling twin, "hey, fun's over, come help me, I'm stuck."

"No, you're not." Tira didn't believe him.

"I am." He insisted.

A moment later, Tira appeared out of one of the tunnels and inched toward him looking skeptical. "I think you're lying, Nii-chan." She frowned.

He wiggled his foot to show her the netting appearing to be wrapped around it. She looked concerned and he resisted the urge to smile victoriously as she crawled toward him. The moment she was within reach he caught her in his arms causing her to let out a squeal as she struggled helplessly to break out of his hold. Her attempts were futile and in seconds she found herself trapped beneath him.

Heart pounding in her chest, threatening to catapult right out of her, she lay completely still beneath him. She tried to catch her breath but found it increasingly difficult as he leaned closer.

"Now you're in big trouble." He chuckled as he got a handful of whipped cream and smeared it across her face.

Tira let out a scream of laughter and tried to struggle out of his grip, to no avail. Before long they were both covered in strawberries and whipped cream laughing uncontrollably in the jungle gym. Once her sides ached with laughter, Tira was finally able to calm herself and lay wrapped in her brother's strong arms. At last, she was able to relax enough to close her eyes and drifted into her first peaceful sleep in nearly two years.
