Chapter 18 - Baby Throw Up

When we got home, Calum had Makenna, and Michael had Morgan. Ashton was cleaning up the floor. Makenna and Morgan still had throw up on them.

"Give her here," I walked over to Michael, grabbing Morgan. I asked Calum for Makenna too, and I took them both into the nursery. I got their clothes off and in the wash before cleaning them up themselves.

After I got them bathed, I put clean clothes on both of them. Luke was helping clean out the throw in between the couch cushions. I walked in the kitchen and got the girls something else to eat because they would need something else if they had just thrown up their dinner.

As I was feeding the girls, Luke walked into the kitchen and apologized for this happening.

"Luke, it's not your fault. There was an expired baby food in the fridge. You didn't know. And we had already had a great night. Don't worry about it," I smiled at him, giving him a quick kiss.

"I know. I had a great time tonight, not having to worry about anything until we got the call."

"Yeah.. Perfect timing on the call Michael," I joked as Michael walked into the kitchen.

"I couldn't help it that your children decided to throw up because of the expired sweet potatoes you left in the fridge-" Michael defended.

"I was kidding. You know that, right?" I laughed. Michael nodded.

"You were saying something right before Michael called, babe.." Luke stood beside me, "what was it?"

"It's not important.." I pushed it off. Right now wasn't the greatest time to tell him that we were having another baby, especially after the twins throwing up.

"Okay.." He turned around, "we need the floor cleaner.."

"It's in that cupboard over there," I pointed. Luke smiled at me to thank me and took the floor cleaner container out from the cupboard and over to the living room.

I picked the girls up out of their high chairs and took them into the nursery. I wanted them to get some sleep, and maybe after the boys left, Luke and I could be alone so we could talk about the new baby. I needed to tell him soon, but I didn't know when the perfect time would be.

"Hey babe-" Luke called as I walked into the kitchen. I responded, "yeah?"

"We need some kind of spray, like, scented spray. We have everything cleaned up, but it smells terrible," he emphasized terrible.

"I'll get some," I told them, walking into the bathroom and grabbing the scent spray out from underneath the sink.

"Close your eyes. I know of someone that has sprayed this stuff before while looking up at it, and they got some in their eyes. Stupid."

The boys closed their eyes, and I sprayed the disinfectant on the couch and around it, then I sprayed the scented stuff around the room. Luke was right, it did stink, but it didn't after I sprayed.

"Thanks babe," Luke smiled, opening his eyes, "everything is cleaned up, thankfully."

"Yeah. Now we don't have to deal with baby throw up or the scent of it, just as long as I take your shirts and wash them. Do you want me to wash them before you go home?" I asked Calum and Ashton. They must've been holding the twins when they threw up.

"Could you? Please?" Ashton took his shirt off and handed it to me. Calum took his off as well, and I took both shirts back into the clothes washer.

"I didn't want to go home with that on, even if I was just going on the bus," Ashton told me, and I agreed with him. It was gross.

"So how was your night, other than having to come home early to clean up throw up?" Michael asked.

"It was pretty good," Luke smiled at me, "we got our minds off of things and were able to talk about things other than babies or getting married, like we had been a few months ago."

With that comment, it made me unsure whether he wanted another baby or not. He said that he was glad to get his mind off of talking about babies. That confused me, and I was worried.

"Luke.. Could I talk to you alone for a minute?" I asked him, "maybe in the kitchen?" I pointed to the kitchen, standing up. Luke nodded, probably wondering what I wanted.

"What is it, babe? Is something wrong?" He asked. I shrugged. I didn't know if he would think it was bad or not.

"A few days ago.. I had noticed that I'd missed my period, and I.. I took a pregnancy test," I gulped, "it was positive.." I pulled out an ultrasound copy from the day before out of my purse and handed it to Luke. His eyes widened, and there was a smile that grew on his face.

"We're having another baby?" He questioned. I nodded, and he hugged me tightly, "this is great, baby.."

"After you had said about getting our mind off of the topic of babies tonight, I wasn't sure if I should tell you or not. My mind was never off the topic of babies tonight. That was all I was thinking about, when to tell you. I was going to earlier, but Michael called."

"That's what you were going to say," he figured out. I nodded.

"But don't worry, babe. We'll figure something out. I don't mind having another baby, as long as it's not twins again."

"I hope it's not twins," I laughed before deciding with Luke to tell them boys right then.
