Chapter 76: Easel of Combatants
Easel's Void enhanced shape towered to match Taylor's flight path as Proxim's words echoed in their mind.
"Huh? She's got the horse constellation, not the painting one!"
"Her name's Easel, you idiot!"
Several Seahorse Constains forged and fired several streams at them when Wali pulled them away with his tongue. Sehki's teeth clenched, summoning Ophiuchus to give the quartet a platform to stand down, augmenting himself in darkness.
"How many lives will you manipulate, you miserable fae cowering in an iron shell!?"
Wali agreed. "A mere instigator hiding behind his many victims."
"Big words coming from the Obsidian Prince and the Imitator of Darkness. Why not let the fae reveal her true luster?"
Sehki leapt off, launching a giant black serpent at Proxim, who surfed inside it's mouth to reach him through the metallic durability, enduring the biting pressure.
"I will not repeat your former principal's mistakes!"
"Fine, Came Soul!"
As if psychic, he reduced its mass to a condensed armor with lanky, fast arms when Proxim punched him, latching onto their arm as the rest of his body stretched back, blindsiding the metal foe with striking speed.
Proxim simply got out of the way and let Easel dive at him, sucking up the moisture and firing the hope of a quick battle at him. Lorena flipped up to him, and with a nod, the two punched up an elastic storm competing with Easel's attack until they managed to cancel it out.
That was until the feminine DeVoid set her nose out on the luxurious side, constantly sniffing out bubbles in cannonball speed trapping and rising different fae, starting to scream and beg for them to be released. Wali peered deeper, dropping his mouth.
"She's swallowing their magic...potentially their life force."
Ainsley brought Cree and Candy to see the carnage with them.
"She'll get stronger and we'll have a massacre on our hands. But Proxim-"
Sehki winced, planning on holding Proxim back while Lorena, Wali and Taylor fought Easel as the Uyocron sibling freed the populace but the mastermind surrounded her enraged accomplice with an army of Voids eating each other until manifesting into a large Void.
"Gemini Void, replicate!"
The massive blob's vacuumed enough essence to slurp and reforge itself until becoming a mirror reflection of Easel's DeVoid state, now heading towards the developing section of Coastrosity.
Lorena shuddered. "The home, there are families still over there!"
The wide scale monitors from the race showed the towering perspective of the DeVoid, Easel's malevolence manifestations subconsciously targeting the people she felt could've helped. Lorena trembled, asking all of them to rush over and get them in time.
An aquatic slimy streak smashed two of them away from hurting a family. The Shadow brawlers smiled as the person created slides made out of their fluids in order to guide the civilians away in a fast, fun manner.
"Yessenia?"
"You all know an actress is supposed to have bodyguards to protect them, right? I better get paid overtime for this."
Starz watched the commotion from her screen with the production crew, on the outskirts of Central and Saiban's borders, regretting not being there.
"Isn't she an actress?"
"But, she can't do this alone."
The main villain summoned ameteor of metal.
"Lorena, do you have the data I asked for?"
"No deal!"
"Hmm...then you'll decide who I eliminate, you or," moving the growing ball of metal collecting debris from them, "her. And if she survives, I wonder if your death will accelerate the potential within your family," throwing it down at the Shadow Brawlers and flying to them.
All of them barely prepared themselves to stop it when a large wave of water mirrored and splashed the meteor back at Proxim, forcing them to split it apart before the might of their own creation.
"You will leave the guests of my kingdom alone!"
Proxim's armor pondered the situation, collecting rebar emanating from the armor into a deadly metallic rain when she called out a spell: Sextans Arts: Aegis Discharge. The water navigated through the metal shower, drowning their impetus in seconds.
Wali blinked. "So that's Sextans Arts: the power to navigate the user and their spell's power to safety. She had this much mastery over it?"
Proxim's cold, robotic, and eerie laugh did not rust their menace in the slightest.
"The Shallow Queen fighting me of all people," clapping. "Shame, you're out of your depths."
Austrina kept her oblivious smile with confidence riddle above her.
"Sounds like a shame it's just as deep as you."
Proxim twitched, constructing metal rockets to fire at her. She simply called out her StellArt, creating what looked like a clone made out of water that morphed into a typhoon spinning around her and destroying each one approaching her in seconds.
"It's just like Ophiuchus' normal state?"
"Sort of, normally the Sextans StellArt works as a long range attack that boosts range of magic the future you are. But depending on your element, your spells will get stronger when the measurement between you and the distance between two attacks is farther."
He nodded at his girlfriend. "Huh...a distance demon...fae....goddess."
"It's not so fun training with her," Loren's admitted, just as Easel raced down to the group with her dorsal fins aim at the queen. Sehki covered her back while she yelled out Pisces, conjuring another clone figurine of water to push the real body back.
Austrina turned to Sehki.
"Will you fight with me, young shadow sentinel?"
"Thanks, but we'll have to decide and conquer. I have my own queens I need to treasure. I won't let any of your people die."
"Keep your promise. Go, I'll handle them."
Taylor's confidence wavered.
"Mom, why didn't you ask me?"
"Taylor, I," needing to use both while stepping with breakneck pace from Proxim's fists. With the others torn on what to do, he clenched the trident and flew upwards into the DeVoid's range, stabbing it.
"You all stop the horde. Villain, know your place!"
