The Zodiac Squad's lunch time was quite peaceful, with only soft chatters of our day so far, though it was mainly focused on my previous high school experiences. Until an odd commotion happened within the cafeteria and the room erupted with applauds.
Our heads turned, peering through the windows, the school's attention onto a ginormous dirty blonde man. He had a killer smirk on his face as he ran his large hand through his hair messing it up entirely, making the female population squeal, except for me, I gagged at their reactions. I instantly recognized him as the cognac-eyed jock in Ms. Neptune's calculus AP class, though I did not know his name.
"Who's that?" I asked, my eyes narrowing down on the play boy.
"Aries," Gemini spoke up, "He is one of the most popular in our school," She cast her disapproving onyx eyes at the dirty blond lamp post, who has a dark haired curvy women in his arms.
"Who's the girl in his arms?" I asked, noticing how the girl kept forcing the giant to look at her, only wanting his attention captivated on her.
"Oh. That's his fifth victim since the beginning of school." The phone-obsessed girl answered. She scowled when the so called 'victim' giggled at something Aries said. "Her name is Centaurus. You can say she likes being the Centaur of attention."
I choked on the milk I bought near the start of lunch, "Are you fucking serious." I hissed, wiping away the excess milk from my lips as Aquarius, who was beside Gemini snickered.
"I'm sorry, I've been wanting to say that since this Tuesday." Gemini half-heartedly apologized.
"Oh my god Gemini, please refrain from making any more puns, AND DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT, AQUA." Libra scowled, pointing an accusing finger at the short female who had her mouth slightly agape to say something.
Aquarius grinned sheepishly at having been caught. "I'm sorry, I just can't stop horsing around."
"Please kill me now." Scorpio groaned, done with the punny duo, slumping her head deeper into her arms to block out their annoying jokes.
"But puns make a stable relationship!"
"NOT YOU TOO, TAURUS." Libra screeched, burying her face in her hands.
"On a different note, you said fifth victim right?" I inquired, changing the topic. "How is that even possible? School literally started two weeks ago."
"Hun, when you a playboy, anything could happen." Gemini explained, "Plus, there are also weekends if you've forgotten."
"Oh. Yeah I forgot about that. Does he play football?" His arms were definitely build, and well defined.
"Nah, he plays basketball, but his twin brother plays football." Aquarius chipped in, beating her joke buddy to the punch.
"His twin brother?" I tried to recall someone who might share the same eye colour or hair colour as Aries.
"Sagittarius."
"The poet with the amber eyes?" I immediately recognized the name, the amber-eyed boy that read 'Don't be Beautiful'.
"Yeah that's him."
"Oh that's nice, he beats many of the clichés out there." I nodded my head.
"Yeah, that's him." Aquarius a lost look in her eyes, a small smile playing her lips.
I stared at her clear love-struck expression. "Is sh-?"
"Yup, she's in love with him, ever since last year" Gemini butt in before I even completed the question.
"I-um... nice." I said, unsure how to react to the confession. "And does h-?"
"No he doesn't know." She did it again.
I paused. "Can yo-?"
"No I can't read minds." And again.
"Are yo-?"
"Yes I'm sure." And again.
My eyes widened as I stared at those around me. They gave me shrugs, making me question the possibility that Gemini is indeed a mind reader.
"One hundr-?"
"Yes I'm sure Cap, now stop asking." Gemini ended the conversation, checking her phone after a "bing!"came from it.
"She's actually a mind reader." Aquarius leaned over and whispered in my ear.
"I heard that." The culprit said, not bothering to look up.
"From your mind, oOOoOoo" She made a fail attempt to mimic a ghost
"Guys stop kidding her." Libra demanded, shaking her head in disapproval.
"You guys are honestly so embarrassing. Please stop." Scorpio added in her input.
"Fine." Aquarius huffed, crossing her arms over her chest as she turned her head to avoid looking at the mature trio. There was an uncomfortable silence after that, I finished my milk, and excused myself to discard it.
I return to my seat, "So wh-"
"And.." Aries loud voice boomed, overlapping me completely. "I would like to give it up for my man Leo, for winning first place in the 600m Freestyle event this summer!! Come on up Leo!" His arm was outstretched to beckon his friend up onto the table he was currently standing on. Centaurus was nowhere in sight. A light brown mess of hair strolled to the front confidently, his ocean blue eyes addressing the crowd below him.
"Thanks Aries, I really appreciate your gratitude. I couldn't do it without my supports cheering on the sidelines, so I would like to thank all of those who supported me during my competition!" He announced, the audience clapping at his speech.
"And I would like to give it up for my twin brother, for well, being my twin brother! Come on up!" The tall blonde cheered.
Blocking out the commotion I turned my attention back to my group. "So um.." I started, waiting for their eyes to find mine. Once I received the attention of all five pairs of eyes on me, I continued. "What classes do you have for period six and period seven..?"
"I've got gym then soulmate." Libra replied.
"I've got foods class then soulmate!" Taurus chipped in.
"Band, then soulmate." Scorpio continued on.
"I've got computer science, and then soulmate!" Aquarius winked at me.
"I have art, then soulmate." Gemini finished, taking a sip of the orange juice box she retrieved earlier from her lunch bag.
"Art, and soulmate..." I trailed off, until sudden realization dawned on me, "We all have soulmate class together?" My eyes widened at the resolution.
"Yup!" Aquarius grinned, "And you and Gemini have the next two classes together."
After the topic died down, Libra was hauled away by her men's swim team to discuss stricter schedules, Scorpio dismissed herself to go practice a bit for Band. Aquarius was called out by another admirer, and Taurus tagged along.
Fifteen minutes were left till the end of lunch. Since Gemini and I were left behind, we temporarily parted ways to deposit our items, and meet back at the agreed place, the cafeteria entrance, the midpoint between our lockers.
Shoving the container that held my pizza hostage back into my backpack, I found my way back to the rendezvous, Gemini already leaning against the pillar, texting away on her phone. When she spotted me walking down the hallways, she shut down her phone and put it away in her back pocket.
"Shall we get going?"
We wandered down the school halls, with Gemini in the lead. She walked strongly with every step she took, her long dirty blonde hair glowed as though it absorbed sunlight. She looked like a goddess compared to me. Although I was taller than her, she appeared far more superior.
As we rounded a corner to our next class, we heard a crash, as if someone punched a locker. We gave each other a knowing look before heading off to investigate. We followed the noise down to an isolated hallway. No one was seen or heard near the scene, except for the quadruplets ahead.
In our misfortune, the clouds of September made its way in front of the bright sun, and enabled us from seeing the faces of the group of four. One sprawled against the lockers, while the other three stood above him tauntingly, like vultures surrounding their prey.
The tallest one, the leader, had messy brown hair, and grey eyes, while both of his minions had dark hair and hazel eyes. "You fucking piece of rainbow shit. Bring your gay ass somewhere else you fucking pussy" The tallest one of the bullying trio growled.
"I-I'm s-sorry.. I'm sor-sorry!" The victim coughed up, his hand clutched his stomach in pain.
"You better be before you bring your LG-fucking stupid-BT pride near me the fuck again." He spat, its then did I notice that the one on the ground was wearing a light pink shirt, with a rainbow on it with the words: '#LGBTPride!'
Gemini looked like she was about to storm in and attack all of them. Her eyes were narrowed down to slits, and her fists were clenched. She gritted her teeth as she was forced to watch it. "Those freaking assholes." She hissed, she took a step forward.
"Wait Gemini." I halted her steps, giving her a look to think it through.
"I can't just stand here and watch them!" Her eyes were filled with anger.
"I know, but please think this through. I want to help him as much as you, but I don't think we can take them on by ourselves. I'll go look for someone. Only get in there when it's serious." I looked her dead in the eye, "Please be careful."
"Fine." She crossed her arms over her chest as she glared at my retreating figure.

I couldn't stand watching them. It was torture, to endure watching them beat the poor kid up. It appeared as though they stopped physically abusing him, but now resorted to verbal bullying.
And then it happened in quite the flash. A mass of blonde appeared out of nowhere, just before the leader of the group was about to hurt the poor boy. My eyes widened in surprise, as the newcomer stopped the throw, engulfed the bully's fist in his large hands, and twisted it.
"Why don't you pick on someone your own size?" Aries advised, although he was practically a giant compared to them. "I mean, are you fucking serious, Hector? Just because you found out your soulmate was a fucking dude doesn't mean you should beat the dudes who actually like guys." He shook his head with discouragement.
The trio flinched away from him. A look of hatred written across their face. "Don't tell me what to fucking do." The leader, Hector barked, maintaining eye contact with Aries.
The confronter didn't say a word. He held his stance and glared right back with the force of a thousand men.
"What's going on?" A demanding voice boomed.
"Today's your lucky fucking day." Hector swore, as he and his minions turned heel before storming off.

I bolted down hallways as quickly as I could, looking for familiar faces that could assist us.
"Woah, woah, Cap, what's going on, are you okay?" A voice called for my attention, I nearly tripped when I immediately halted to a stop and did a one eighty.
"Cancer, just the man I would looking for!!" I exclaimed, rushing up to him to explain what was going on.
He nodded his head in understanding as we both sprinted to the scene.
"What's going on?" Cancer imitated a deep authoritative voice that could be mistaken for a teacher.
The bullies turned their head in surprise, and said something inaudible before scampering away from the area.
"Are you okay?" Aries extended his hand to help lift the victim up. "What's wrong, why are you crying?" Worry laced his voice.
"I-it's ju-just, so-someone-one act-actually stood u-up for m-me!" The victim hiccuped, as tears streamed down his cheek. "My name is An-Antinous."
Aries scratched the back of his head, "No problem at all, Ant, I'm Aries." He smiled.
"I love you, Aries!"
The blonde cringed away at the sudden outburst. His cognac orbs widened as though he's seen the world in new colours. He stuttered awkwardly, "Ar-are you my s-soulmate?"
Gemini looked horror-stricken, as though she was finally reveals a gruesome truth after a long-lasting lie. Cancer looked shocked, as though all the pieces he was fitting together was suddenly falling apart. I mentally aw'd at the situation, oblivious to what lied deeper.
But, that was not the case. Antinous tilted his head, his innocent brown eyes looked up at Aries towering form. "W-what do you mean?"
"I.. can see colours." He whispered, his ears tainted red in embarrassment.
"I'm s-sorry, but that isn't my soulmate feature.." Antinous trailed off, he bared his wrist. On it was a glass incasing, a countdown clock was embedded in his skin.

Aries seemed at lost for words. His eyes were filled with despair. "Am I your soulmate but you aren't mine?" He asked quietly, almost impossible for those around him to hear.
"Ari-" Gemini was about to speak up but the bell rang, signifying the end of lunch.
Students marched down the hallways to their lockers, clearing away anything that interrupts their path. And they blocked Gemini from reaching Aries lonesome figure.
