Chapter 1

A bad storm started. Some were worried it would turn into a tornado, but that was unheard of in Minecraft. Unless someone messed with the code, again. Strong winds blew throughout the server. Knocking down trees and other unsturdy structures, causing a domino effect. Lots of trees falling posed as threats towards the hermit's builds but they always seemed to end before hitting one. Xisuma warned everyone about the conditions and told them all to stay inside, but something bad is always bound to happen on Hermitcraft. He had powered off his communicator while sleeping, must've been from the causal tossing and turning. Still, that's not something he'd normally do, turning off his coms I mean. He was in his Barge, restocking items that had emptied, mainly sand and gravel. He felt the wind brushing against his face, quite roughly. He looked up and saw the clouds turning into a dark shade of gray. His pupils delighted at the sight of the clouds. He didn't like dark clouds, those ones always held rain. He panicked, running to the nether portal to try and get home before it started to rain. He knew it would be better to travel through nether. 1 it was faster. 2 no rain, so he would be safe inside the nether. After a bit of running he made it to the town hall, leaning his arm against a tree trying to catch his breath. It was yet to rain but he still did NOT want to be caught in it. He could hear a glitching sound close to him, he lifted his head in curiosity and saw the portal flickering in and out of existence making weird screams of agony. Before erubartly exploding and shooting out small purple glass shards in all directions. He tore his arm off the tree to shield his face to shield himself from the shards, they pierced into his forearms, legs, wings, basically everywhere that wasn't shielded making him wince from the pain. He fell to the floor holding his arms in pain. His wings wrapped around him for comfort ; they were soft and fluffy. The perfect material to calm someone. Something worse was starting as he was focusing on rubbing the bridge of his wings, in an effort to comfort himself. Ombrophobia. The word rang through his head. Rain started to drizzle from the smokey gray clouds. They splashed onto his face. He wasn't afraid of a little rain, It was when it started to pour. He HATED tons of water on him, clothes and wings to be specific. He felt like it weighed him down, which made him nauseous and lightheaded. So his friends offered the idea of having a phobia of it. Grian didn't want to argue with his new friends at the time so he agreed to the phobia, but he wasn't scared. He was mad.

The rain brought him out of his thoughts, it was actually very relaxing for a bit. The feeling of sweet water running down his face, cooling his steamy cheeks. He hadn't noticed the rain pour increased at all. Feeling quite calm he looked at his communicator and tapped at it. Smashing his face with his palm when he realized it was powered off. It would take another minute before it powered back on. He pushed himself closer to the tree he was leaning against. The leaves created a dense canopy above him, holding the rain off for a little while more but for safe cautions he held his wings above him like an umbrella. He was waiting for his comms to turn on. The warm moist air made him feel as if he could take a rest. Right here, right now. No, he needed to stay awake. His comms were still on a black screen before returning to an updating screen, normal updates went relatively fast but he was not in the mood for waiting around for 2-3 minutes. He waited a minute. And another, nothing was happening except for the bar slowly ticky upwards. It was at 84%, 30 seconds and it would be over but a rustle of leaves brought Grians attention away from the silly device. He first moved his wings away a little then looked up at the leaves, nothing was up there? Then lots of little droplets fell onto his face, those were soon followed by a pour of rain onto his face, shoulders, wings, and hair. It flattened his hair making it cover his eyes.

*Should've gotten that haircut* He thought half mindly. Before shock filled him.

The splash shocked him to say the least, it caused his heart to jump, skipping a beat. His little heart continued on this trend, skipping a beat. Birds are normally weak hearted but he chose to ignore this fact. His lungs being a close follower of the heart started to close the walls. Suffocating him. Or at least that's what it felt like. He was trying to stabilize his breathing but it. Wasn't. WORKING. A buzz on his arm averted his attention. They could help.

< MumboJumbo > Grian how are you doing? Are you safe?

< GoodTimeWithScar > Grian?

< Iskall85 > I'm going to run over

< Xisuma > Iskall no, the storms winds are growing stronger threatening to become a tornado and if anyone should run over it should be Scar

< Iskall85 > But X! He's not responding, even when he's having a panic attack he normally responds!

< Server > Grian has powered on his communicator, Welcome Back! You may now pm him.

< Stressmonster101 > Grian! Where are you?

< Grian > I'm in town square, under a tree.

It went silent, Grian waited for a response telling him what he should do. That moment never came. But something else did.

As he was waiting for them to respond he saw a light gray funnel-looking thing lower from the clouds, it was quite far but very noticeable. That couldn't be a tornado, all the ones he read about were that they were small fragile-looking sticks with large debris clouds. Even still he scrunched up under the tree trying to make himself as small as possible so it couldn't pick him up and toss him. Grian didn't realize he was sitting on a large root. His eyes were tearing up and curling into a ball only made him suffocate more. He was choking on a lack of oxygen and sylvia, as the walls of his lungs squeezed tighter. He watched as it grew bigger and bigger, or was it getting closer? It swept up the trees he was around before. Yep, getting closer. The one he was sitting under was ripped from the dirt causing him to topple down and face plant into the tattered and mucky soil below. Without the canopy of leaves above him, he got covered in more rain, making him feel heavy and lightheaded. He climbed onto his knees to get up but fell backward, now realizing how lightheaded he was. Grian knew he was going to be swept up but he hadn't lost hope in his friends. He himself was impressed he was still on the ground.

< Grian > I need advice here guys

< Stressmonster101 > I'm sorry love but it seems we don't know how to get there and help.

< Grian > oh n
