Tiana's Task 2
I stood in front of the mirror, watching the reflection of my mom and my maids fidget and adjust my dress.
A couple days ago, after finding out the theme of the ball, my mom and I walked down to the nearby village, hand picking the fabric, the flowers, and the jewels that would be used to make up my ball outfit. After hand sketching the design, my headmaid presented the sketch, and with a couple tweaks, we, mother and I, were both satisfied with the design.
When the day of the ball finally rolled around, I woke early, in order to get started. I wanted to do as much as I could myself. Picking up the earrings from the jeweler myself, and, putting the necklace, ring, and earrings into a dish, I sought out my mother. We both fussed with the shoes to carefully match, trying multiple before settling, and it was quickly time to get the dress and makeup.
Heading into my bathroom, I carefully applied a prepicked shade, trying hard to keep a steady arm with all my nerves relating to the ball.
Now, a whole half hour later, my maids were adding the finishing touches to the dress, my mom piping in to add a helpful tip every once in a while. Turning around so they could test the bow on my dress, I was amazed at how beautiful my almost daily simple dresses could look when applied with the right shades.
"How does it look, Tia?" My mom asked, smiling as I made my way over to her. I nodded, as if in a daze. My mom chuckled a bit, quietly, before continuing getting me ready.
Tucking my caramel brown locks over my shoulder, she carefully clipped my necklace on, before moving up to put on my earrings. Kissing my forehead, she set the finishing touch of the outfit on me. The careful flower crown. I was in awe. The entire outfit was simply beautiful, and I loved it.
