Charlotte Task 2

Charlotte closed her eyes as she stood in her dressing room, all dolled up. She was wearing a traditional dress from her kingdom, as well as jungle themed heels. Most of her jewelry was personal, like her golden elephant necklace and her dangly bead earrings, but her maids had just gone to fetch her emerald crown, which was a family heirloom. Charlotte opened her eyes, turning to look down at the cat sitting at her feet. Well, cat wasn't exactly accurate. The creature sitting at her feet was actually a cheetah cub. "Its going to be okay, Malik" Charlotte murmured softly, lips barely moving as she trailed her hand across the vanity, looking down at the cheetah. Malik was her most recent rescue, the others consisting of a lion, a tiger, a jaguar, and a leopard. Members of her family have been known to rescue abandoned or orphaned cubs, as well as injured adults. Her first rescue occured when Charlotte was nine, when she was wondering the woods. Ever since then she's almost always had a creature with her. Currently it's Malik.

Charlotte's eyes glanced back to the vanity, where she saw that her emerald studded crown had been placed. Picking it up, she placed it carefully on her head. She swiftly exited the room, before pausing to pick up Malik.

Charlotte was going to take one last stroll through the gardens, but she needed to know no one would stop her. Silently walking through the halls, holding her heels in one hand and Malik in the other, she peered through the ballroom doors. She saw her fathers two lions asleep on the floor, which meant her father was also sleeping, and Charlotte knew her mother was currently at the elephant sanctuary two miles west. Smiling to herself, Charlotte turned to open the door to the garden, searching the wall. On a lucky day, she would see her leopard or her jaguar laying atop waiting for her, but today was no such day. But Charlotte knew a cat that both her and Malik would enjoy seeing. Duma was Malik's mother, but was unable to care for him after being attacked by foreign poachers. She set Malik down to lead the way, before she had to suddenly stop at the sound of her name. Her mother stood at the door, watching, waiting. "It's time to go now"

Charlotte nodded in response, following her mother throughout the castle into the carriages. B

ut as she stepped up into the carriage she whispered something no one else could here.
"Come, Malik"
And sure enough he came.
