2: A New Beginning
"We need to go inside now," Shuichi replied, "Before the K9's find us."
"I'll miss those clothes," Himiko sniffled, "Especially that hat, it was my favorite."
"Don't worry Himiko, I'll make sure to get you a new hat." Maki promised, and Himiko looked at her.
"Really? You promise?" Himiko wiped her face from all the tears that were falling down her face.
Maki nodded. "Let's go inside, and see if this place has an open house for us to use. We'll also need to be careful with introductions. Until we know for sure, everyone here is a suspect of being a part of the Danganronpa Team."
The others nodded, and they began to walk inside the main gate.
The town was relatively small, and after about ten minutes or so, they found a house that fit their every need.
"How much for the house?" Shuichi asked the man who showed them the house.
"Absolutely nothing young man," he replied, "We believe that we're all the tenants on this wonderful world." the man walked away, and Shuichi nodded towards Maki.
"Remember to be careful in his town," she reminded them, "We are new, and we need to fit in with our current surroundings."
"Yes Maki." Himiko replied. Shuichi nodded in agreement.
"Then what are we waiting for? Let's go to sleep."
It was a restless night for Shuichi, too much was on his mind- from their friends, old and hopefully new, the entire Killing Game, and their new home.
"You awake?" he heard Maki's voice.
"Yeah," he replied, "I can't stop thinking."
"About?"
"Everything that's happened."
"You know what will help you with sleep?" Maki asked him.
"Not too sure." he answered.
"Training." He rolled over to look in her direction.
"Sounds like a plan."
"Then let's get going then."
Shuichi then stood up, and he walked outside in the back, and they dropped down to start their old training regimen.
After a half hour, Shuichi felt himself beginning to become more and more fatigue.
"I think that's enough, Maki said as she stood up swiftly, "You're becoming tired."
"I guess so." he said.
"You okay? Thinking about them?"
He paused for a moment. "Yes," he confirmed, "I just feel so lost without Kaito and the others."
Maki paused for a moment. "If Kaito were indeed alive, he'd want us to continue living like this, move on, and reach for the stars."
He nodded. "He would've indeed say all that. Do you think we made the right choice? By leaving."
"Yes, why?"
"I've been thinking-"
"Oh boy, this is going to be good."
"It doesn't matter if we left. Danganronpa is a popular show with high ratings."
"Yeah, and?"
"They'll just continue where they left off."
"What do you recommend then."
"After this entire thing blows over, how about we take the fight to them? Like we actually brought an end to the Killing Game's future seasons?"
"I like the thought but how would we gain support for this?"
"We make it impossible for Danganronpa to 'make' new contestants."
"I like where this is going. How will we tell Himiko?"
"I'll deal with that, don't worry."
"Alright, let's destroy this Killing Game once and for all."
