The Pentagon
Washington DC, Capitol of the United States of America
McGee parked his car in the Pentagon’s parking lot, then took a look at the building itself. What the hell is Abby doing here? he wondered.
He got out of the car and grabbed his bag, then started heading towards the front doors. As he approached them, someone else exited. It was obvious that he had been waiting for someone.
Judging by the way the man was looking, he had been waiting for McGee.
"Special Agent McGee?" he asked, walking up.
"That’s me," McGee confirmed, looking at the man’s uniform. "Captain," he added.
The man smiled, holding out a hand. "Captain Rogers. Abby told me you’d be coming."
McGee shook. "So what exactly am I here to take care of?"
Captain Rogers smiled. "Just a rather very intelligent system."
McGee blinked. "Excuse me?"
"I’ll explain in my office."

Abby looked up when the door to Steve’s office, and she smiled, jumping to her feet. "McGee!" she squealed, hugging him to death.
"Hey, ow!" McGee complained, dropping his bag on the floor as Steve closed the door behind them. "Yes, Abby, it’s good to see you, too."
"Thanks for finding him," Abby told Steve happily, sitting back down in her chair.
"No trouble, ma’am," Steve replied as he started pulling something up on his computer.
"So what’s this about ‘just a rather very intelligent system’?" McGee asked, folding his arms.
"JARVIS," Steve replied absently.
McGee blinked. "Excuse me?"
Abby snorted. "Just A Rather Very Intelligent System. JARVIS."
"Yeah, yeah, but why?"
"Let’s just say we need to get a very annoying person’s attention," Steve replied. "And hacking into his personal system is the only way to get it."
McGee sighed. "Fine," he grumbled. "Who’s attention am I getting?"
"Tony Stark," Abby replied.
McGee’s eyes widened. "What?"
Steve looked up at Abby. "Ma’am, does he always act like this?"
Abby shrugged. "He hasn’t hacked anything this crazy before."
The door opened behind them. "Well, he’s going to have to if we’re going to get Five’s attention."
Abby leaped to her feet again as Clint and a man she guessed was Bruce Banner entered the office. "How did it go?"
"I got him, didn’t I?" Clint asked unnecessarily, but he grinned and hugged Abby. "Bruce, this is Abby."
Abby smiled at Bruce and held out a hand to shake. "I get the feeling I shouldn’t hug you."
Bruce chuckled lightly, but shook Abby’s hand. "Thanks."
Abby shrugged. "And that’s my partner, McGee."
McGee blinked, finally getting his bearings. "Wait, Abby . . . you seriously found the Avengers?"
Steve looked at McGee, then at Abby. "How long was that?"
Abby looked at the clock. "About five minutes since he entered the office."
Steve grinned. "At least he realized it."
Something on his computer beeped. "And we’re hacking."
McGee finally got a hold of himself and started typing a fast pace on the keyboard. "All right . . . let’s see how well this works . . . "

It wasn’t until he heard the strange humming that Tony Stark realized that something was wrong in the tower.
Frowning, he entered the garage where he kept his current Iron Man suits and looked around. "JARVIS?" he called out.
There was no answer. "J?" Tony called again, coming to the center of the room. "Come on, buddy, I don’t have time for this."
"Really?" a familiar voice asked dryly. "So we wasted our time for nothing? Gee, thanks."
Tony groaned. "Oh, Capsicle. Great, it’s you. What did you do to my butler?"
"Well, we had to get your attention somehow," Steve replied. "So we hacked him."
"Who’s ‘we’ so I know who to sue?" Tony asked.
"Four, Six, and a few people from NCIS."
"Government guys?" Tony guessed. Then he caught up. "Wait, Bruce is there?"
"Right here, Tony," the scientist’s voice came.
"Hey, good to hear you, buddy!" Tony called in false cheerfulness. "Now excuse me while I go attend some more interesting matters."
"Tony – !" Clint barked.
"Sorry, guys, I have to go," Tony said sadly. "You have ten seconds to say why you’re here."
"Tony," Steve started.
"Four, three, two . . . " Tony counted off on his fingers.
"Wait!" he heard an unknown female voice call out as he reached for the turn-off switch. "It’s about Natasha Romanoff!"
His hand froze right above the switch.

"Four, three, two . . . "
"Wait!" Abby blurted out, budging Steve and Bruce out of the way. "It’s about Natasha Romanoff!"
Bruce looked at Abby in awe. Did she mean to annoy Tony that way?
Then Tony replied to her: "What happened to her?"
Abby threw a relieved look at all of them. "You’d need to get here for me to explain. I don’t want to fly all the way to New York when everything is happening here."
"Who’s saying this isn’t secure enough?" Tony countered.
"I never said it wasn’t secure," Abby retorted. "But we hacked here, didn’t we?"
There was a pause from the computer. "Y’know, I can see how you know Nat."
Abby smirked. "So you’ll get over here?"
"Loading up the suit right now."
"Move it, Stark," Steve advised. "You’ll need to hurry."
There was a snort. "Yes sir, Capsicle."
Steve growled as a click ended the contact. "I really hate it when he calls me that."
Bruce smiled, shaking his head. "He’s crazy, and he’s my best friend," he murmured.
Abby smiled, lightly punching McGee’s arm. "Like Tony and Ziva, huh?" she suggested.
McGee groaned. "Oh, do not even start," he moaned.
Clint grinned. "Oh, so those are the two partners Fornell’s always complaining about!" he exclaimed.
Abby grinned right back at him. "Bingo!"
Bruce groaned. "Brother–thing going on right here, gentlemen."
Both Abby and Clint glared right at him, then hit him over the head with their hands.
"OW!" Bruce yelled, rubbing his head while glaring at his friends. "What the hell was that for?"
"Do not ruin the moment," Abby advised.
There was a sudden whoosh of jets from outside, then a robotic voice asked "Ruin what moment?"
Bruce grinned. "Tony!" he called, and he and Steve hurried to open the window.
The Iron Man suit of red and gold landed in the room, and it folded off of his body to land as a suitcase at his feet. Tony grinned, looking like normal. "So," he asked conversationally, "what have I missed?"
