Ellie
As morning came a went, I quietly sat in my room. I wanted to venture out of my room again, but I wasn't ready to face any new surprises just yet. I still wanted to learn about why my father was killed. I'd asked Kylie and Jacob earlier who had come in to give me my lunch, but like last time, neither of them knew. Maybe Elijah will tell me. I hope.
Either way, let's not think about the bad times now. For today, I decided to watch Carmen San Diego. I'd just recently got into it so I hope no one spoils it for me. I was just about to watch the 3rd episode when I heard the door open and close really fast. I paused the show and looked to find a little girl no older than 7. She looked just like Elijah.
The girl was breathing heavily before she noticed me. "Oh. Hi!" she said giving me a very excited wave. I couldn't help but smile back. "Hello."
"Are you the girl that Eli brought home?" she asked. It took me a second to realize she meant Elijah. "Oh yes I am. I'm Delilah."
"I'm Ellie!" The girl, Ellie told me. I widened my eyes. Of course. No wonder she looked like Elijah. This is his sister, Ellie Santiago. No one in the entire world has ever seen her except for the time that she was an infant. The Santiago had made a choice to not disclosure her face to the world so as to protect their child from the media. They did the same with Elijah until he was 18. I always wondered what'd it be like to have wonderful parents like that.
Ellie made her way to the couch and plopped next to me. "Whatcha watching?" she asked as I giggled. "Carmen San Diego. It's about a thief that dresses in red."
"I like red. It's my favorite color." Ellie told me, her eyes never leaving the outfit worn by the protagonist. "Pink's my favorite color. But I also like red." I replied as Ellie nodded. "Pink's pretty too." she said, finally turning her head before she gasped dramatically. I tilted my head and followed her gaze to find that she was looking at my Care Bear that I was cuddling. "Is that a Care Bear?!" I laughed at her little cheerful face. "Yeah. This is Hopeful Heart Bear." Ellie practically squealed upon seeing something so cute. "Can I hold it. Can I? Can I?" she beamed reaching out her hands to grab it.
Before I could tell her that she had to say please, a knock came at the door. "Ellie! I know you're in there!" I knew immediately that it was Elijah. And so did Ellie because she quickly raced off the couch and under the covers on the bed. Ellie poked her head out a bit. "Don't let him know I'm here." she pleaded with the cutest giggle I've ever heard. I gave her a quick nod before Elijah came into the room.
I felt my laughter crawling up my throat when I saw that Elijah's entire face was covered in red glitter and sparkles. He gave me a playful glare as he searched the room. "Where's that little diablo?" Thanks to my intermediate studies of different languages provided by my father, I was able to determine that diablo meant 'devil'. I didn't trust my mouth to reveal the location of his cheeky sister, so I just shrugged.
Elijah chuckled. "You little sneak. I know she's here." he said making his way over to me. I scooted up against the couch arm, my Care Bear covering some of my belly. "You don't know anything." I giggle as he smirked and grabbed my ankle. I squeaked when I felt his fingers dancing on my sole. "Do I need to give you another raspberry demonstration?" Elijah said as I giggled freely. "No, not that. Anything but that." Elijah opened his mouth to reply, but stopped when he heard a faint giggle coming from the bed. Elijah stopped tickling my foot and made his way over to the bed. "If you try to stop me, I'll tickle you next."
I gulped just as Elijah plopped onto the bed, Ellie letting out a little squeak of surprise. I watched from the couch as the two siblings interacted. "Oh Ellie~" Ellie giggled at her brother's voice. Elijah ever so slightly wiggled his fingers over Ellie's sides, even though they were still covered up. Ellie let out a few snorts and giggles. "Come on out. Your big brother's here." he said as Ellie squealed under the covers. Elijah chuckled before he grabbed the blanket. "You silly girl. I'm gonna have to play 'Peekaboo'."
"No. No peekaboo." Ellie giggled under the covers but Elijah wasn't having it. Elijah lifted the covers surprising his sister with the sudden light. "Peekaboo!" he said before slamming the covers down in front of her eyes. Ellie crackled as her brother repeated the gesture. "Eli! Quit it!" she giggled as Elijah wrapped his arms around her petite body and gave her a raspberry on her neck while also wiggling his fingers on her belly. Ellie screamed at the top of her lungs, her laughter causing me to laugh along with her.
Once Elijah had enough, he playfully tossed her back on the bed watching her curl up in a ball. "I hate raspberries!" she giggled out as Elijah gave her a kiss on her cheek. "You shouldn't have doused me in glitter now shouldn't you?" he said before booping her nose and walking back to me. I blushed when he gave me a smirk. "Hey Delilah, I gotta show you something." he said as I lit up at his tone before hopping off the couch and following him out the room.
