Shindou's POV:

After the mission of assassinating Echo, everything was alright. I continued training because I couldn't forget about what happened back in the fight. I was knocked out and everyone else was injured. I clenched my fist and calmed down.

"I won't let that happen," I said in my mind.

I clicked the button and holograms appeared. I went into a fighting stance and got ready to fight. I fired projectiles from my staff and hit some of the robots while the other dodges. One of the robots had a sword and tried to slash me, but I blocked his attack with my staff. I pushed him back and fired a beam by slashing downwards. It knocked down the robot and I heard footsteps coming at me from behind. I knew it was another hologram, so I backflipped and the hologram went past me. I fired projectiles and it hit the hologram, it was now down. I looked around and a lot of holograms were charging at me. I charged my staff up and swung my staff from left to right, creating a wave that looked like a staff (or stave/ the lines you see on music sheets) with some music notes.

After I took out all of the enemies, I went to the bench and took a break. As I was taking some breaths, I heard someone walking towards my direction and sensed a familiar aura. I looked and saw Kirino. He was wearing his casual wear.

"Kirino," I said.

He smiled in response.

"Training hard again?" Kirino asked as he went to me and sat next to me.

"Yeah, still trying to make some improvements," I replied.

"You know you shouldn't overwork yourself too much, not to mention the work that's still needed to be done later, regarding some files you wanted to study and check," Kirino said as he grabbed something from his bag.

I just smiled in response a bit as I replied, "I appreciate the concern but, I'll manage, so don't worry."

"Well, I'll still help out with the workload so we can finish it and come up with something to resolve it quicker," Kirino responds before handing me a water bottle and a towel.

"Here, you'll need it," Kirino said as he smiles back.

"Arigato," I said as I got the towel and water.

After I drank some water, I looked at the training ground and smiled as I remembered when me and Kirino took the exam.

"Hey Kirino," I said and he looked at me with a bit of a confused look.

"Remember the time when we took the entrance exam?" I asked.

"Yeah, in the parkour test, I almost fell and failed the exam. But then you grabbed my hand and prevented me from falling. I still owe you something," Kirino said as he smirked, remembering that time.

"You already paid me back though, in the fighting test, when I was about to be out, you saved me from getting 'killed'," I replied as I smirked back.

*I haven't explained the exam so here it goes.*

Each examinee will be given a device that glows four different colors. Green means still alive, Yellow is injured meaning like your supposedly to bleed, Orange is near death, And Red means you died, Yellow and Orange are used in the second and mostly in the final test. It has a good detection so like when you get stabbed in the arm the device will glow yellow. Don't worry no one actually gets killed or hurt. There can be as many examinees that can participate.

Parkour test - It will most likely be a race, they will go through simple parkour, wall jump parkour, rooftop parkour, and other things, while avoiding some obstacles. When they reach the end they will have to press the button. The bottom floor is covered with mattresses so no one would get hurt. But when you fall from a high place and land on the mattress, the mechanism will glow red. Half way through, you'll be given two paths to choose from, one being easier but longer while the other is way difficult but its a shortcut.

Sneak test - There will be a hologram in the middle and you will have to knock it down. If the hologram sees the examinee, it will most likely fire fake bullets and try to 'kill' them, it also has a sword. So when the fake bullet hits you or stabs you in an area of your body where you can die, the mechanism will glow red.  There is also a timer so you shouldn't take to long, but it also requires patience and observation. One person at a time will enter the available fields and may choose a difficulty, easy mode gives the least amount of points while hard mode gives the highest. If all requirements are met, you have more points, if you get caught or seen sometimes but kill the target, that possibly can be considered average, if you get caught and 'killed' though, you fail.

Fighting test - This is where the hard part comes, you won't be fighting holograms, you will have to fight some of the Raimon assassins based on what weapon you chose to use in the fight. The Raimon assassins and examinees will use fake weapons that acts like real weapons so that no one gets killed. You may use teamwork and what you've learnt. When your device glows red, you're out of the round or test.

There is no total of people who pass.

"I guess so," Kirino said with a smile.

"Well, my break is over now. Thanks again for the water and towel," I said as I got up and placed the towel and water bottle down.

"Back to go training?" Kirino asked as he got up from the bench.

"Yeah," I replied, "You wanna join in training?"

"Sure," Kirino said, "I'm gonna go change into my assassin uniform first though,"

"Alright, I'll wait for you," I replied.

Kirino ran off to get changed and I waited for him. After a few minutes, Kirino came back. We did parkour training and raced each other. Me and Kirino tied, so we did the sneak training. I had the fastest time while Kirino was a few seconds away ahead of me. In fighting, I may have a long-range weapon, but Kirino is very good at getting close to getting me. At the end of the fight, I won. I helped Kirino get up and decided to stop training now. We talked to each other as we walked our way to the dorms.

"That was a good fight, even though I lost," Kirino said as he smiled, "That is as expected from you after all, being the captain."

"Yeah, you were close to beating me though," I replied as I smiled back.

"Anyway, where do you think the others are?" Kirino asked.

"Some of them might be in the library, Hamano might be there too or he is in his dorm working on something along with Hayami, some of them might be in the living room, or other places around the base doing their own thing," I replied.

After walking for minutes, we finally arrived at our rooms. Mine was next to Kirino's so I could just go to him.

"I'll be going now, see you later Shindou," Kirino said.

"Hai," I replied.

I entered my room and changed into my casual wear. I put my stuff away and put my clothes in the laundry machine. I went out of my room and then went to the kitchen to get something to eat. When I arrived, I check the cabinets and saw that there wasn't much food. I closed the cabinet and decided to go buy some stuff. I looked for Otonashi-sensei to ask permission, I went to her workplace and knocked on the door.

"Who is it?" I heard Otonashi-sensei asked.

"It's me, Shindou, may I come in?" I replied.

"Yes you may," She replied.

"Excuse me," I said as I entered and saw her working on something. She stopped what she was working on and looked at me.

"May I ask something Otonashi-sensei?" I said.

"Sure, what is it?" Otonashi-sensei asked as she smiled, presumably wondering what I was gonna ask.

"May I have permission to go to the town?" I said, "I noticed were kinda running low on stock with some of the food such as snacks, drinks and a few other things, so I just need to stop by at the store and purchase them."

Otonashi-sensei gives a smile before replying, "You don't have to ask my permission Shindou-kun, but alright, you may. But be very careful okay?"

"Hai!" I replied, "Arigato," I added as I bowed and then straighten back up.

I then left the workplace and went to my room. I grabbed a black hood and my gloves just in case. I grabbed the things I need and then left. I sneakily went into the town and came out of an alleyway. I walked to the store and bought the things we were running low on. After that, I checked them out and realized, I had to use the bathroom. I asked if I could leave my groceries cause I had to use the bathroom. They allowed me and I thanked them. I went to the bathroom, and after a few minutes, I washed my hands and went out. While I was on my way back to the counter, I heard shouting. I peeked around a corner and at the counter, I saw three guys wearing black clothes and a mask. One of the guys was pointing the gun at the guy at the counter, while the other two made sure the people in the store don't leave. One of the men saw the cameras and shot them. Everyone got down while I hid.

"This won't be good, they also destroyed the cameras.. I have an idea," I said as I looked at my bag a bit.

I sneakily went into the bathroom and then wore my black hood and gloves, I also wore a face mask, mentally prepared for what's to come. I sneakily went out and hid in one of the aisles. I saw one of the men checking the area, I hid and when the time was right, I hit the back of the guy's head, hard enough to knock him out. He fell to the ground and a loud thud was heard.

"What was that?" the other guy said and then saw me.

"You little," he said and then charged at me, knife in hand.

He tried to stab me but I sidestepped and dodged the attack. I grabbed the guy by the nape (back of the neck) and back before pushing him downwards as I kneed him to the chest. I let go and put my leg down as he falls to the ground. I then faced the last person with a serious expression. He pointed the gun at me and fired, but I dodged and charged at him. As he was about to shoot, I jumped high and kicked the guy in the face, causing him to drop the gun. He got sent back and he crashed onto the floor, his head hit the floor and he went unconscious. When I landed, I heard a gun cocking sound. I quickly look behind me and I saw one of the guys holding a gun. He fired but missed me as I dodged in time, I looked at him before charging towards him. He tried to punch me, but I jumped and did front flipped. I landed behind him and then I did a roundhouse kick. He flew to the side and banged his head, making him unconscious.

"Thank you, sir," I heard someone said, it was the guy at the cashier.

I responded with a smile and nodded a bit, when suddenly I heard sirens. The police had arrived, while everyone was distracted, I sneakily went to the bathroom. I removed my hood, face mask and gloves before hiding it in my bag, which was hidden in the bathroom. I then sneakily went into the crowd of people and tried to blend, putting on my act.

"Excuse me," I heard someone said from behind me.

I calmly turned around and it was the cashier.

"Here, before you accidentally forget and leave," he said as he handed me the groceries with  smile.

"Oh, thank you, sir," I said as I grabbed the groceries while smiling back.

After that, I left while the police arrested the three men. I went into an alleyway and sneakily went to the rooftop and parkoured my way back to base. When I arrived I went to the kitchen and placed the bag of groceries on the table. I looked around and no one was there. I sighed and then left the kitchen and went to my room. I placed my bag down and then went grab my clothes from the laundry. I grabbed my clothes and then put them in my closet. I had nothing to do, so I left my room and went to the rooftop. When I arrived, I saw Akane standing there and viewing the outside.

"Akane?" I said.

She heard me and turned around. I walked towards her and then stopped walking.

"Shindou," she said.

"What are you doing out here?" I questioned her.

"I just, needed some fresh air," she replied as I saw she slightly blushed.

"Oh, well I was thinking the same thing," I said with a smile, "how is your head?"

"I'm alright, it was just a scratch," Akane replied with a smile as she rubbed the back of her head.

"Good thing," I replied with a smile, "how about we check on Rina and Tenma to see if they are feeling better?"

"Sure thing, hopefully they are doing well," Akane replied with a smile.

Me and Akane went to the doctor's office and visited Rina and Tenma. When we entered, we saw Tenma reading while Rina was just laying down on the bed. Tenma almost immediately saw both of us and gives up a welcoming smile.

"Hey there Shindou-senpai, Akane," Tenma said. Rina heard him and went into a sitting position.

"Oh, hey there captain and Akane," Rina said with a smile. I responded with a smile.

"Hey Tenma, Rina," Akane said as the two of us went to them and sat at the chairs.

"How are you two feeling?" I asked.

"I'm good, my arm is almost healed up. The doctor said after two or three days, I can go fight," Tenma said with a smile.

"Same here," Rina smiles as well.

"I'm glad," I replied, smiling back.

"How are you two and the others doing, Shindou-senpai?" Tenma asked as he looks at the both of us.

"Doing alright, the others are also doing fine and working hard," I responded while giving a reassuring smile.

"That's good to hear," Tenma commented as he smiled back.

"Some of the others also visited us a while ago. Thanks for coming by though," Rina said as she softly smiled.

"No problem, it's nice to have some company once in a while after all," Akane responds smiling as well.

The four of us talked and joked together sometimes. I'm glad everything turned out alright today. I wonder what's gonna happen next, guess we'll just have to wait, and better be prepared for it too.
