Three months ago,

Third POV:

Tenma used to be alone and would fight the members of the Shadow Clan that were attacking the town. He would fight alone and didn't have allies. He took down some of them and lived by himself. He also hid his identity and never done any crimes. He wore a black hoodie and gray pants. He only has one sword on his back that he uses to fight.

Somewhere in the backstreets in an abandoned building.

Small fast footsteps can be heard, running inside the building followed by loud footsteps, someone was being chased. A little boy was running, trying to escape the three people chasing after him, not looking back.

"Please, someone, anyone, help me!" The boy internally prayed, hoping something will happen.

But suddenly, the boy tripped and fell down to the ground, injuring himself a bit. He tried getting up, when suddenly, a voice were heard behind him.

"Well, isn't that unfortunate."

The kid looked as his eyes widened in fear and shock. The three men stood there, two of them having their weapons in hand. They started approaching the boy.

"I got to admit, you did pretty good with your little escape attempt. But this is as far as you can go kid," The guy with black hair and black and white clothing said as he approached with a smirk.

The boy tried to get up and run but he was paralyzed with fear. The man brings out his spear and grins. He stops a bit at a certain distance.

"Don't worry, this will only hurt a little," He said as he spun his spear a little before getting ready, "Good night."

He then charged and gets ready to impale the kid as the boy puts his arms infront of them and shuts their eyes. But suddenly, someone came dashing towards the guy at a very fast speed and does a flying kick to the man's face before the spear could even touch the kid, backflipping off and landing on their feet infront of the boy, while the man gets sent flying back and onto the ground past the other two. The other two men were shocked and while that was happening, the mysterious person quickly picks up the kid before running off with silent footsteps.

"Jester, are you okay?!" A guy with redish hair asked while helping the guy out.

"I'm fine, but don't let them get away!" The guy replied as he sits up and rubbed his face.

"Yes sir," A different guy with brown hair responded and tries going after the two.

The red haired man helps Jester out and the guy soon recovers from the kick.

"That guy just now, he is gonna pay for this!" The man said in his thoughts.

Meanwhile:

The mysterious person carried the boy in their arms and entered a room while closing the door behind them, making sure not to make a loud noise. The person had a hood on to hide their identity as the shadows covered their eyes. They then put the boy down.

"Are you alright?" They asked.

"Y-yeah, t-thank you, mister," The boy said while wiping his tears.

The person noticed the injury and brings out some bandages from their pocket.

"Here, let me tend your wounds, wouldn't want them to get infected," the person said.

"U-uhm, okay," The boy replied being hesitant at first and then the mysterious person proceeds to tend to the boy's wounds.

"There, all finished," the person said as they finished applying the bandages.

"Arigato," the boy said.

"You're welcome. It isn't safe here, come, I'll-" The person said while getting up, but stopped their sentence when they heard something. They then turned to the door and the person got serious.

"Mister?" The little boy asked.

"... Looks like they are coming, quickly, over here," the person said softly to not get heard by the enemies and gestured the boy to follow him.

He then quietly moves aside some furniture and opens a secret door which was a good place to hide.

"Hide in here, and whatever you do, don't make a sound and cover your ears. I'll come get you once things have settled down," The person whispered a bit as they looked at the kid.

"But, what about you?" The boy asked, whispering back while giving a worried look.

"I'll be fine, now quickly," the person replied and the boy nods before entering the hiding place.

The person closes the door and silently puts back some furniture to hide the spot. The person then draws out their sword and gets ready. Not for long, the footsteps got louder and the group barges into the room, but found no one there.

"Tch, no one is here," Jester said.

"Are you sure they went this way Marco?" The red haired guy asked while looking at the brown haired man.

"Yes, I'm sure of it Reid," Marco replied while looking back at the guy.

"Uhuh, sure you are, like last time where we wasted two hours trying to search for a non existent target," Reid responded sounding sarcastic a bit as he looks away to look at the room.

"But I'm actually serious this time!" Marco replied.

"Quiet you two, save you're quarrel for later, we have work to do," Jester said as he starts investigating, "Marco, you watch the door just in case, Reid, you help search."

"Yes sir," Marco replies and stands guard.

"Roger that," Reid replied.

They then did their part and checked around the room. Jester checked the window and found it was locked, not just that, there wasn't any other way to lock it from the other side nor was anything used to self lock it if they escaped this way.

"This window is locked, therefore they couldn't have escaped this way. This is the only way they could have exited besides the door we came through. If they never escaped and indeed went into this room, that means," Jester said in his thoughts as he closed his eyes, before opening in realization, "They are here!"

But it was too late, as the mysterious person dropped down from the ceiling in the dark area and did a quick downward slash from behind Marco before he could react, killing him instantly as his body falls to the ground, creating a loud thud. The two Shadow Clan members turned with their eyes widened from shock as Marco's blood spills onto the ground.

"Marco!" Reid called out as Marco turned to black ash along with the blood that was once there.

The mysterious person faced the two with a blank stare, their sword covered in blood before the blood turned to black ash.

"Y-you, I'll kill you for what you did!" Reid shouted and gets ready with his dagger in hand.

The person didn't react and instead swung their sword to the side, flinging off the remaining blood and ashes as they get ready. The two members charged at him and tried to kill him, but the person fended off both of them with ease, getting only a few scratches. Reid then tried to slash him but the person stopped his attack by catching his arm and swiftly stabbing the guy in the chest as their sword pierced through all the way. Reid coughed out blood a bit and when Jester tried to attack from behind, the person quickly tosses Reid who isn't dead yet to Jester, causing Jester to get interrupted and sent back a bit. The person quickly charged and kicked the two towards the wall. Jester's back slammed against the wall as Reid was on the brink of death, but the person wasn't finished. Suddenly, their eyes glowed a light metallic blue as the same colored aura surrounds their sword. The person then fired one sword beam at the two and it hits, killing Reid and injuring Jester. Jester struggles to recover and get up as he weakly glares at the person. The person then goes to a stance as their eyes glowed. In a blink of an eye, he dashes and is now infront of Jester and is about to end him.

"Sayonara," He said in a cold tone as Jester's eyes widened.

With that, the final strike came, decapitating Jester as he bled and slowly turned to ashes along with the blood. The person's eyes stopped glowing and they stood there a bit while putting the sword back in the case. He then turns to the hiding spot and moves the furniture away before crouching down.

"Its just me, don't worry," the person said before opening the door.

The boy then looks at the person as he puts his hands down, some tears in his eyes.

"It's over now, you can come out-" the person reassured but didn't expect the kid to suddenly hug him as the boy cried a little while trembling a bit. They were caught off guard but quickly recovered before hugging the boy back and reassures him.

"I-I was so scared, I t-thought, no one will help me, t-that, I won't see my mom and dad again," the boy said while sobbing and clinging on tightly to the person.

The person could tell he was terrified and let the child be while they reassure him.

"Don't worry, I promise you'll see them and be with them later, there there," the person reassured as they closed their eyes.

After a little while, the two separated and the boy quickly wipes their tears away while the person gets up.

"Come, lets take you back to your family," the person said as they lent a hand out to which the boy nods and holds his hand.

The two proceeded to walk until they reached the stairs and when the child was going down a few steps, he turned and noticed the person not walking.

"Are you coming sir?" the boy asked.

"I'll just be behind, you go on ahead, just be careful," the person replies.

"H-hai," the boy agrees and carefully walks down the stairs.

When the boy reached the ground floor, he heard multiple footsteps and some voices. He then peaked out and sees the police has arrived. One of the officers sees the boy.

"I found him sir. Don't worry, we're here to take you back to your parents, you'll be fine. Are you hurt anywhere?" the officer said as he carefully approached the child to not scare him.

"I-I'm fine sir," the boy replied as he felt reassured.

"Come, we'll take you back. Is there anyone with you?" another officer asked as he approaches the boy.

"H-hai, they're-" the boy responded while looking at the stairs but then saw the mysterious person was gone.

"Alright, come on men. Ronald, you take the child outside, the parents are waiting there," the officer said while looking at the man.

"Roger that sir, this way kiddo," Ronald said and the boy agrees as the two left while the rest investigate upstairs.

When the police checked the upper floors, they stumbled upon the room where the fight happened, three weapons were on the ground a dagger, spear, and sword. There was a broken table, a bucket on the ground, and moved furniture which hid the hiding spot, but no one was there. Meanwhile with the boy, he was reunited with his family outside as they hugged.

"Naoki, thank goodness you're alright!" The mother cried out as she hugs her son with tears rolling down her eyes.

"We're glad you're safe, be more careful next time okay bud?" the father said as he smiled, happy that his son is back.

"Hai!" the boy replied as he smiled with tears of joy in his eyes.

Meanwhile with the mysterious person, they stood on the roof of a different building as they looked down on what was happening below. He then removes his hood as the moonlight shines on him a bit. Tenma's eyes had no shine in them and was just dull as he watched the family happily reunite. Even with having no expression or any emotion shown, he felt deep inside that he was relieved and glad that things went well. He checks around a bit and sees no one saw him which reassured him a little bit, even if it was night time. Tenma proceeds to turn the other way before fleeing the scene, leaving no trace. As for Naoki, he felt someone was there and looked at the rooftop where Tenma was on before but saw no one.

The next day, meanwhile with Raimon.

They were in the meeting room and discussing the situation.

"So there's another assassin in the town?" Hamano asked.

"Indeed, there has been some reports and a few sightings from the other members of teams two and three, but they never got to know their true identity. Most of these sightings were usually in the backstreets, some rarely on the main town rooftops," Kudou sensei said.

"Do they work with the Shadow Clan?" Tsurugi asked.

"No, it doesn't look like it. I'm sure a few of you heard that some of the Shadow Clan camps were taken down even though the members stated that no one has handled them," Kudou sensei replied.

"Not just that, some Shadow Clan groups also got killed, for example, last night with Jester and his gang," Otonashi-sensei added as an image of the three weapons from the group appeared on the screen, which is recognized by Shindou and some of the others who read some of the files regarding the enemies.

"So this person already got rid of them, pretty quickly as well," Shindou said in his mind.

"Jester's group was one of our targets right?" Ichino asked.

"Yes, but they got eliminated already by the mysterious assassin," Otonashi-sensei replied.

"What do we do now Kudou sensei?" Sangoku asked.

".. We bring them back here to the base," Kudou sensei responds.

This shocked the members while some were just caught off guard even if some were just a bit.

"Are you sure this is a good idea Kudou-sensei?" Leo said.

"Yeah, they might be from a different or secret clan and rat us out or something, Kudou sensei," Kurumada added.

"Yes, I am sure of my decision," Kudou sensei replied.

"Also, there are no other clans in this area here to be discovered yet, and they might not be in one," Otonashi-sensei added.

Some of the other members looked at each other a bit but soon all of them agreed to the decision while some were reluctant.

"Alright, who is gonna be doing the mission, Kudou sensei?" Shindou asked.

"I'll be assigning Shindou, Kirino, Tsurugi, and Hamano to the mission. Hamano can use the drone to locate them while the rest of the three will bring them here. Do your mission at 11:00 pm stat." Kudou sensei said.

"Hai!" the four assigned responded.

When it was 11:00 pm, Hamano went to the rooftop and prepared the drone, since it had night vision, seeing in the dark was no problem. Shindou, Kirino, and Tsurugi parkoured on the rooftops and split up to find Tenma. As Hamano flew the drone, he saw movement, then he looked closely and saw a boy with a black hood and gray pants parkouring on the rooftops. He touched his earpiece and called Shindou.

"Shindou, I found them, they are at ******** street, in your direction. He is currently now resting on the rooftop of an abandoned building," Hamano said.

"Thanks for the information, inform the others. I'll be on my way there," Shindou said.

"Roger that!" Hamano said and hung up.

Shindou continued to jump from rooftop to rooftop and after a few minutes, he arrived at the destination. He saw Tenma standing at the ledge viewing the town with his hood on. He slowly approached him quietly and said.

"Hey there," Shindou said.

This caught Tenma by surprise. He swiftly turned and charged at Shindou, with a sword in hand. Tenma stopped and pointed the sword at Shindou, the sword was inches away from Shindou's face. Shindou didn't get much of a chance to bring out his weapon and just stood, slightly shocked at how fast Tenma was.

"What the, their speed just now, I didn't even get the chance to even react," Shindou said in his thoughts before internally sighing, "Compose yourself Shindou, we're not trying to make them an enemy, we just need to take them back to base."

Shindou then did a straight face again. They were silent for a bit, but then Tenma broke it.

"Who are you?" Tenma asked in a serious tone.

"Calm down, I'm not here to hurt you," Shindou replied.

"Are you working for the Shadow Clan?" Tenma asked, keeping his eyes locked on Shindou's.

"I'm not an enemy, don't worry," Shindou replied.

"...What do you want from me then?" Tenma asked, still being serious and aware.

"I just want to ta-" Shindou was about to finish his sentence when the two of them heard someone.

"Maestro (Shindou's codename)!" Kirino said.

Tenma saw him and backed up. Tsurugi and Kirino landed beside Shindou. Tenma put his sword away and turned the opposite direction. He then started running from them.

"Wait!" Kirino said and the three of them went after Tenma.

Tenma continued to run very fast with the three behind him and the drone above watching it.

"Sorry about that," Kirino apologized.

"Its alright, no worries," Shindou replies.

"Shindou, he's heading to an alleyway with three exits, try to corner him there," Hamano said in the earpiece.

"Roger that," Shindou replied.

"Kirino head to the right, Tsurugi head to the left, I will chase him to a dead end, that way we can corner him," Shindou said.

"Got it!" Kirino said.

"Hai!" Tsurugi replied in unison with Kirino and the trio split up.

Shindou continued to chase Tenma from behind and the two of them went down from the roof and ran into an alleyway. Tenma reached a dead end and turned to the left but only to see Tsurugi blocking the way. He then looked to his right and saw Kirino.

"Nowhere to run now," Kirino said in his mind.

Tenma smirked and brought a smoke bomb out of his pocket. He then threw it and it exploded and released smoke.

"A smoke bomb?!" the four Raimon assassins said in their minds.

After the smoke cleared, Tenma was nowhere to be found.

"Where did he go?" Tsurugi asked.

"Hamano, did you locate him?" Shindou asked.

"No, I lost him," Hamano said, "I'll try to find him again."

Meanwhile with Tenma, after he threw the smoke bomb and released smoke, he went through a broken window without making a sound and ran. As he fled, he found a way back up to the roof and parkoured from rooftop to rooftop. After running for minutes, Tenma stopped and sat down at a ledge of a building. He was taking some breaths from running.

"I think I lost them," Tenma said in his mind.

He then took down his hood and slightly leaned back. The wind blew as his hair flowed from the wind, he looks up at the starry night sky, admiring the view. He then closed his eyes as he felt the cool breeze, it was very calming and relaxing for him. After he rested for about a few minutes, still felt tired. He also felt kinda uncomfortable about staying out for this long. Tenma was about to get up and go back to his hideout, but suddenly he heard someone.

"There you are," Tenma heard someone said from behind him.

Tenma stood up and looked behind him. There he saw Shindou and then his friends land beside him. The drone lowered down next to Tsurugi, but above him a bit.

"You really don't give up huh?" Tenma said.

"You're, not gonna run?" Hamano asked through the speaker of the drone, preparing it in case he decides to run again.

"Nope, if I did then it will start a goose chase again, plus I'm still tired from running. So I will just listen to what you guys have to say," Tenma said.

The four Raimon assassins internally sighed of relief, atleast they get the chance to talk things out.

"Phew, I thought we will have to chase him again," Hamano said in his mind.

"Now, give me a reason why I should trust you," Tenma said in a kinda serious tone, his dull eyes looked at them and it felt like he is eyeing them suspiciously a bit, not that they can blame him, they literally just met.

"You plan on trying to defeat Shadow Clan too right, me and the others are also trying to take them down. You could join our team," Shindou said.

"The last time I heard someone say that to me, they pretended to be my ally and friend and then backstabbed me by trying to kill me," Tenma said.

"We won't betray you, we can work together and fight alongside each other to fight Shadow Clan, we all have the same goal, and its alright if you don't trust us now, but atleast give us a chance to prove ourselves to you that we are trustworthy," Shindou said as he went to Tenma, "We can assure you that, or even make it a promise if you want, it's better than trying to do it all on your own."

Shindou then lent out his hand and said, "So what do you say? will you come with us to the base?"

Tenma was silent as he thought about what Shindou said. Finally, he answered, "Fine, but if you try anything you know what will happen."

"Alright, understood," Shindou said as he smiled a bit and they shook hands.

They then let go and Shindou starts to introduce himself and the others, "I'm Shindou Takuto, these are my friends, Kirino Ranmaru, Tsurugi Kyousuke, and Hamano Kaiji."

Tsurugi and Kirino smiled in response.

"Hello!" Hamano said through the speaker in a happy tone.

"What's yours?" Shindou asked.

The shine in Tenma's eyes appear for a bit as he was reminded of something a little.

Tenma smiled and said, "I'm Ma-" before he could introduce himself, a gunshot was heard.

Tenma looked down and saw blood. His eyes went dull again and he was about to fall to the ground but Shindou caught him.

"What happened?" Kirino asked.

"A Shadow Clan member must be here," Tsurugi said.

Hamano flew the drone higher and checked the direction. There, he saw a person with a sniper rifle.

"He's behind the boxes," Hamano said.

Kirino and Tsurugi went down from the rooftop and ran towards the person with the sniper rifle. The guy saw them and grabbed ammo from his pocket, but when he faced them, Tsurugi sliced the barrel of the sniper cleanly. The guy fell and quickly got up to run away. Not for long, Kirino caught up with the guy and swung his scythe. He sliced the guy in half and then he turned into ashes.

Tsurugi and Kirino went back to Shindou and Tenma to check on them.

"Is he alright?!" Kirino asked.

"He's still breathing, we have to return to base and fast," Shindou said and his friends nodded in agreement. Shindou then touched his earpiece and contacted Hamano.

"Hamano, make sure no one else is around," Shindou said.

"Hai!" Hamano replied and clicked a button on the controller.

He checked the radar and no other person but the four are there.

"It's all clear," Hamano said.

"Alright, lets get moving everyone" Shindou said and lifted Tenma.

Tsurugi, Shindou, and Kirino returned to the base with Tenma. Otonashi-sensei and Kudou shujin were shocked. They asked what happened and Tsurugi and Kirino explained while Shindou and Otonashi-sensei brought Tenma to the doctor's office. The doctor said he will be alright and apparently, Tenma had other wounds from previous fights, and also he will have to rest for days. The next day Tenma finally woke up.

Tenma's POV:

I opened my eyes and noticed I was lying down on a bed. I sat up and I felt a pain in my stomach for a bit, I looked down and saw I was wrapped in bandages, I also wore a hospital like outfit. I looked around the room and noticed I was like in a hospital. I then heard a door open and I looked at it. There I saw a man with dark violet hair and a mustache, his bangs covered his left eye, and beside him was a woman with dark blue hair and red-framed glasses.

"I see you're awake," the woman said as she smiled, "how are you feeling?"

"Alright I guess, who are you?" I asked.

"I'm the advisor of the Raimon assassin clan, Otonashi Haruna" she replied with a smile.

"This is Kudou Michiya, he's the mastermind of the clan," Otonashi-sensei introduced the man.

"Ohayo," I said, trying to sound as polite as I can.

I then saw the three people I met yesterday and someone was with them, it must be Hamano.

"Oh, your awake," Hamano said as he smiled, his voice was definitely familiar.

"Hey there, you must be Hamano right?" I said.

"Hai!" he replied.

"So you do remember us?" Kirino asked.

"Hai," I replied.

"These four already told me about what happened last night and I want to ask you this. Do you want to join the Raimon clan?" Kudou sensei asked.

I went silent and looked back at the events that happened. I then finally made up my mind, I guess it won't hurt to join them.

"I thought about it and, I accept the offer, " I said.

Kudou sensei then slightly smiled and said, "Very well then, you will be taking the test after you recovered, you understand?"

"Hai!" I replied.

"By the way, I have a question," Shindou said, "you were not able to introduce yourself last night, so what's your name?"

"My name is Matsukaze Tenma, nice to meet you," I said and even though I wanted to smile, I couldn't bring myself to, so I bowed a bit despite sitting down.

After I recovered, I took the test with some other kids, there were twenty or a bit more of us in total. There were three tests, parkouring, sneaking, and fighting.

I managed to pass and joined the first team with a girl named Athena and a boy named Cole, while the others who passed but didn't get the score to join the first team were moved to either the second team or third team. According to what I heard, the second team building and third team building are somewhere else on the mountain range but it is a bit far, I'm guessing the the buildings are just as large.

The three of us chose our assassin uniforms and were now members of Raimon. I wonder, how things are gonna be from here on out.

The appearance of Athena and Cole as assassins:

The others who didn't pass got their memories related to assassins were removed and were sent to a good orphanage. I got along with the members of the clan and trained hard to help the team.
