Why Is The Octopus Qualified

"Hello my wonderful students, hope you slept well last night~"
Outside of the UA highschool building and on the courtyard, Koro-Sensei, who was now dressed in a gym coach uniform, stood before the entire class of 1-A, all of them also wearing gym clothing and seemingly ready for any activities that might be brought up, though as the the squid teacher continues to speak with his students, his teacher assistant, Shota Aizawa, just stood off to the side, snacking on fruit drinks, and glaring at the so called teacher with careful and watchful eyes, as if waiting for him to mess up.
'Hm...'
/Flash Back\
"You want me to do what?"
Aizawa was currently in the principal office of UA, and was in the middle of speaking to the principal himself, the rat, dog, bear thing known as Nezu.
"I want you to be the one to look after Class 1-A, not only to look after our new teacher, but to protect our students as well."
Nezu quickly explains what he wanted from Shota, who was still a bit confused by the request.
"While I don't mind doing those things, wouldn't it be more logical for one of your more powerful Hero Teachers to look after them?"
While Aizawa wasn't entirely against the idea, he couldn't help but think there were others better in this situation.
"Because you're the only one I trust to keep things discreet and calm, you can't have someone like Midnight or Present Mic make a scene during and outside of class."
Nezu was able to give a reason that was able to make the tired hero understand almost instantly.
"Yeah, fair enough..."
Aizawa sighs, already imagining someone like Present Mic being literally loud in the situation, or Midnight being weird with the teacher in general.
"Also, while keeping an eye on the enemy is important, so is the education and future for our students as well."
Nezu also explained another reason for choosing Eraserhead for the task at hand.
"Let me guess, you want me to make sure our new teacher doesn't do anything to ruin that?"
But Aizawa was already quick to catch on to the true intentions and motivation of what the principal was truly asking from the Shota.
"You can say that, yes."
Nezu nods, after getting such confirmation, Aizawa grabs his chin and gets into deep thought, both considering what he was being asked and how to go about it.
"I see."
/End Flashback\
'Even if you're a world destroying threat, you are a teacher.'
Aizawa crossed his arms and continued to glare harshly at the tentacle emoji, who was still talking to the students.
'And I will make sure you are qualified to do your job right...'
As Aizawa continues to do his job as both the guardian of the students, and a watcher over the squid teacher, said teacher was currently using his super speed to fly and move around all around the courtyard, which definitely impressed and surprised almost all the 1-A students.
"Today's lesson will be using your Quirk as effectively as possible~"
Koro-Sensei then lands back in front of everyone, wiping away slight sweat, but still keeping him happy and excited to smile for everyone.
"So I went out of my way to create obstacles and trials tailored to your abilities~"
And the reason for Koro-Sensei more than the chipper mood, would be him showing off and completing around 20 obstacles sets, some looking simple with only a few trials, while others are large and complicated.
"W-Wait, you made all this, just for us?"
One of the students, specifically known as Ochaco Uraraka, couldn't help but be shocked and surprised by all this, not only because the teacher, that they were supposed to kill, was doing all this for his students, but even made what he made for them as well, a feeling shared by her fellow classmates.
"Of course, my job is to make sure you get the best help possible, whether it be in education or heroism."
Koro-Sensei said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world, which did make a few students, and even his fellow teacher, be left in silence, not knowing how to respond to the target's willingness to help.
'I still can't make out if this is an act or not, what are your true motives here?'
All Aizawa could do was watch, trying his best to figure out the true motivation and reason for all the things that the yellow octopus does.
"You will be graded by not only completing your test, but as well as creativity and resourcefulness, so be sure to think outside the box."
Once everything was prepared, Koro-Sensei was more than ready to get things started.
"Now then, do I have any volunteers?"
Though feelings of hesitation were felt in the students, despite admiring the length of what Koro-Sensei would do for them, he was still an enemy, so most were a bit weary of why he was even doing this in the first place.
"Hmph, I can handle your stupid obstacles, bring it on."
But in the end, everyone, specifically Katsuki Bakugo, took up his challenge to participate in the tentacle emoji trials, with full arrogance one might add.
"Confidence, I see, I like it."
Which only made Koro-Sensei happy to see.
"If I remember correctly, your Quirk is "Explosion", a special ability where you secrete nitroglycerin-like sweat from the palms of your hands and ignite it on command."
Koro-Sensei hums and rubs his chin, carefully considering who he was dealing with and how to properly test him in his abilities.
"Not only that, you also seemed to be an excellent fighter and already very skilled when dealing with your opponent, I can see why you scored very highly during the entrance exam."
After having a moment to think, Koro-Sensei disappeared and reappeared in a flash, seemingly finally able to figure out what to do and what kind of trial he should give the explosive hero.
"With those factors in mind, I have created something very special for someone like you."
And what Koro-Sensei revealed to the young blonde, was what appeared to be some kind of stuffed test dummy, two to be exact, one red, and one green, simple yet no doubt a part of whatever obstacles he had in mind for his student.
"This is a test dummy, made by yours truly, what I want you to do in this test is-"
"DIE!"
Though, just as Koro-Sensei was about to explain the purpose of said test dummy, Katsuki did not hesitate to charge up and shoot out a giant explosion towards the dummy props, not only was the size of the explosion was large enough for everyone nearby the neighborhood was able to see, but powerful enough to send shockwaves and heat to make everyone either brace themselves or take a step back in response, and once all was said and done, after the smoke and dust settled down, the test dummies that were once there, was nothing more but a pile of black dust.
"Woah..."
"There's nothing left but ashes..."
"He sure does have a powerful Quirk..."
To say that most of class of 1-A were impressed by what they saw would be an understatement, some even let out comments and slight praise to what just happened and how powerful it was to see.
'Kacchan is amazing, both in power and talents.'
And none could agree more than Izuku Midoriya himself, even as someone he knew all his life, going back as former childhood friends, he could not help but both admire, and somewhat worry.
'Even though he can be overconfident and prideful, at least he has the ability to prove it.'
Specifically, Izuku was worried how, despite Bakugo flaws, felt like he could never match up to him, both in literal power, and the confidence that comes with it.
'I can only hope to be half as good as him...'
While Izuku, as well as the rest of the class, had mixed reactions to what they saw, the explosive hero himself just stood up straight and wiped away whatever sweat he had left on him.
"How was that teach, did I pass with flying colors or what?~"
Katsuki looked at the squid teacher with a very wide and over cock smirk on his face, as if expecting to be told how great he was.
"Nope! Zero Points!"
However, instead of praise, Kacchan was instead met with not only a failing grade from Koro-Sensei, but also expressed a purple "X" on his smiling face.
"WHAT!?"
Much to the shock and surprise of both Katsuki and the entirety of the class, especially Midoriya and Shota.
"There is no question when it comes to your destructive capability, however your test was not about fighting others, but instead saving them."
But before outrage could be yelled out by the very angry Bakugo, Koro-Sensei was able to quickly explain the reason for his failure.
"If you were paying attention, you would've noticed that the dummy had a hostage, and, well."
Koro-Sensei glanced down at what, "Remains", of the dummies, letting out a sigh and shaking his head.
"As you can see, you didn't really save them."
After wiping some dramatic tears with a tissue, Koro-Sensei looked back at the still stunned silent explosive hero.
"So because of that, your today's grade will be marked as a failure, though I will give you extra credit for handling the enemy with swiftness and without hesitation."
Once the final grade was made by Koro-Sensei, Kacchan said nothing else and just walked back to his spot, it was obvious he was upset about what just happened.
"Wow, I can't believe he actually failed already."
"Well to be fair, he wasn't given clear instructions before he started."
"Maybe he should've waited instead of "DIE" everything he sees."
And it didn't really help when Bakugo heard all the hushed comments and whispered criticism from his fellow students, which only made him clench his fist and shake in quiet rage.
"Are you ok-"
"Shut up Deku..."
Izuku tried to calm and reassure his friend that it was OK, though he was met with rude bitterness from Katsuki, clearly not in the mood to be pitied, especially from him of all people, which made him hush up and say nothing else in response.
"Hopefully now you understand what to expect from this."
With all that said and done, Koro-Sensei looked at his entire class, expectations he had for them all were at an all time high, it was clear he hoped for great things from them, and to do better than what they just saw earlier.
"Now then, who's next?"
After understanding and accepting the true meaning of Koro-Sensei challenges, all of Class 1-A spent their entire time doing the trials that was specifically given and tailored to them, most were able to succeed with flying colors, like Tenya Iida, his obstacles involved making quick yet complicated decisions and sharp yet difficult movements while moving at high speed, however some either struggled or even failed at their trials, like Momo Yaoyorozu, her challenges forced her to both make choices while under pressure and had to be quick in making said choices before time runs out, yet despite some either failing or succeeding, it didn't change how much all of them were able to learn and understand themselves and their capabilities, as well as limits, not to mention with the yellow octopus constant encouragement, as well as receiving some both criticism and helpful pointers, all of the students came out with newfound confidence and determination to be better, as both future heroes and as a person in general.
'While I would've done something differently, I can't deny the results.'
While all this was going on, Aizawa just stood off to the sides and just watched everything that was happening in front of himself, even though he still unsure and distrustful towards the tentacle emoji, even he couldn't help but be impressed at what he saw and how well he did as a teacher so far.
'But for you, "Teacher", comes your real test.'
However it wasn't over just yet, as Aizawa still needed proof that he was worthy to become a teacher, and the only way to earn his approval, came in the shape of Midoriya, who seemed to be the last student to enter the trial, the fate and final decision will be made on whether or not he either fails or succeed this last test.
"And last but not least, Izuku Midoriya."
As Koro-Sensei was getting ready to set up his last challenge for Deku, Eraserhead just stood back and narrowed his eyes, as if waiting for the final results that would soon be made by him.
'Let see how you can handle someone like him.'
"For your test, what I want you to do is~"
Koro-Sensei, oblivious, or just doesn't care about the thoughts of the tired hero, has reappeared in front of the green-haired boy.
"This!~"
And what Koro-Sensei brought back and for Midoriya, was none other than a simple punching bag.
"A-A punching bag?"
Izuku couldn't help but be confused when given such a simple item.
"Yup."
Koro-Sensei replied with a simple nod.
"Um, what am I supposed to do?"
Izuku felt like there was more to this.
"Why punch it of course~"
Though Koro-Sensei just kept giving obvious and quick replies.
"... Is that it?"
Izuku still feels like he wasn't being told everything.
"Mhm~"
But even if there was more, Koro-Sensei sure wasn't gonna tell him.
"O-Ok."
Izuku could only sigh in defeat, seeing that he wasn't gonna be given any extra info, so for now, he would just trust his squid teacher, and just hope he does everything right, he looks at his challenge, which was still just a punching bag, he was still confused what his objective is, but he still wants to give it his all and at least hope he gets a passing grade, he takes a deep breath, clenched his fist, and prepare himself in what would happen next in what he was about to now.
"Detroit Smash-!"
"MINUS 10 POINTS!"
However just as Izuku was about to use his power, or just as Shota was about to use his powers to stop him, both were suddenly interrupted by Koro-Sensei yelling out, face turning purple "X" again and even held up a little sign that said "-10" on it.
"W-Wha-Why?!"
Izuku was now even more confused on why the yellow octopus would say such a thing despite doing exactly as he was asked, as well as Eraserhead, curious on what he had to say now.
"As I recall, I mentioned that grading will be determined by creativity, which includes originality."
Koro-Sensei wasted no time giving his reasoning for giving negative points.
"What you were doing was none of those things."
Though what Koro-Sensei said so far made no sense to them.
"W-What do you mean?"
Izuku was not understanding anything so far, a feeling shared by the tired hero, who was getting annoyed by the tentacle emoji not getting to the point already.
"Let me guess, your favorite hero is All Might, is it not?"
When Koro-Sensei took a guess on the favorite hero of Midoriya, he couldn't help but let out a loud gasp.
"H-How did you know?!"
Izuku was no doubt surprised to have his favorite guessed right by his squid teacher.
"He makes it too obvious."
Though Deku fellow classmates couldn''t help but shake their heads and sigh, it was obvious that they even knew that his favorite hero was All Might.
"Look, I can understand you having someone to look up to, and even get inspiration from said hero you admire."
For some reason, the green-haired boy couldn't help but feel worried and dread the more that Koro-Sensei spoke to him.
"But let me tell you this now, you will never become like All Might."
But it didn't take long for his feelings to be proven right, as Koro-Sensei hit him with words that were enough to cut deep into his heart and soul.
"D-Don't you think that's a little harsh to say?"
Izuku struggles to hold back his tears, even if it was said by his teacher and target, what he said hit harder than what it meant to be.
"I-I know I-I'm not perfect, but I'm s-still trying my best."
But even with such harshness, Izuku still felt determination in his heart, no doubt wanting to prove himself that he can do the impossible.
"And does your best include becoming the next All Might?"
But what Koro-Sensei said next, truly made Midoriya think about what he was truly with himself.
"Yeah! You tell him, teacher!"
Though before Deku could actually consider what was said to him, Katsuki of course took this chance to say something more in the hopes to bring him down even lower.
"He's just a Quirkless loser who should quit being a Hero and let those who actually have the power to make a difference!"
However what Katsuki did say was definitely not agreed by everyone here, some even making disgusted expressions when they heard what he had to say.
"Hey! That's Not Nice To Say! Izuku Does Have The Power To Make A Difference!"
A few even voiced out their disagreement and even defended the trying hero, one of them being Ochaco.
"I must agree, even though he can't be like All Might, I know very well that he will make a great hero!"
Another was Tenya, while his words were also a bit harsh and somewhat blunt, it was clear his intentions were to both defend and support Midoriya in becoming a hero.
'You guys...'
The words of encouragement were not only heard by Izuku, but also made him feel motivated to both try harder and prove himself, to himself and those that doubt him.
"And you're exactly right."
But once again, all this commotion from the students was once again interrupted by Koro-Sensei.
"H-Huh?"
And just like before, instant confusion had fallen upon Izuku and the students that were trying to defend, or one trying to bring him down.
"Just because I said you couldn't be All Might, doesn't mean you can't be a great Hero."
Koro-Sensei reaches a tentacle and gently pets the head of Deku.
"But I want Izuku to be the Hero, not just another false copy of someone else."
What Koro-Sensei said next made the trying hero go wide-eyed, no doubt never expecting anyone to say they wanted to see "Him" be the hero.
"Now then, try again to hit the bag, but this time, as Izuku Midoriya~"
Koro-Sensei then steps aside and allows Midoriya to try again with his test.
"As Izuku Midoriya..."
Though this time, Izuku had time to realize what he was doing and took what his squid teacher said to heart, looking at his hand and clenching it, he closed his eyes and took a deep breath, allowing himself to imagine as a hero, and what kind of heroic things "He" would do.
"DEKU SMASH-!"
"MINUS 20 POINTS!"
Though just as Izuku gained a new sense of understanding of who he wanted to be, he was once again interrupted and stopped by Koro-Sensei, going purple "X" again and holding a little sign that said "-20" this time.
"WHAT NOW?!"
To say that Izuku wasn't getting annoyed from the constant interrupting would be a lie.
"Please stop concentrating all your power in one spot, I would prefer not to see my precious students hurt themselves."
But before Deku could continue to be frustrated, Koro-Sensei suddenly mentioned something that definitely caught his attention.
"In one spot?"
Izuku was confused at first, but after looking at his fist, which was the only part covered in power of "One For All", things were slowly started to click for him, as if realizing something that should've been obvious.
'Oh! I Understand Now!'
Once fully understanding what Izuku was doing wrong and what he needed to do to fix that, he didn't hesitate to be and do better, so instead of just originally focusing all of his power in one spot of his body, he decided and started to concentrate in letting it all travel throughout his entire body.
"HAH!"
And after moments of focus and slight struggle, Izuku accomplished what he wanted to do, which was full control of his power without breaking anything, specifically with himself, of course the true strength of his power was only a fraction than before, not to mention it still strained his body, but he knew it was greater improvement than what he could do before.
"L-Like this?"
Izuku looks up to the tentacle emoji, hopefully he was doing everything right this time.
"Perfect, now you can continue~"
Which Koro-Sensei gave his full approval for what the trying hero just accomplished, his face even turning orange with a red ok "O" in response, once finally given the go ahead, Midoriya was finally able to continue on his challenge, which he quickly finished in a single kick, this had enough force to send the bag flying and landing far away, yet it didn't get completely obliterated, which was something he was happy to see.
"Excellent, of course there's room for improvement, but that you get a passing grade for now~"
Koro-Sensei was also happy with the results, quickly writing notes before tossing it to Shota, which startled and snapped him out of his surprise thoughts, no doubt what he saw definitely left a lot to think about.
"Welp! That concludes today's lesson, hopefully you can take what you learned today too heart and use it to become better than today."
Koro-Sensei looked at his entire class and let out an even bigger smile than what he had earlier, somehow.
"I truly believe everyone has what it takes to become a real hero, no matter what."
And Koro-Sensei truly meant what he said, which did make most of the students happy to hear such praise, even looking more motivated to work harder to achieve in becoming heroes, of course a few just either huff in response or ignore such kind words coming from his mouth.
"Now then, if you excuse me, I'll be heading off to America to get some burgers, call me on my cell if you wish to assassinate me, BYE!~"
With all said and done, Koro-Sensei gave his simple goodbye and goodluck, before disappearing in a flash, going high in the air and flying away in signature Mach 20 style.
'Hmph, you shouldn't give false hope like that, all you will do is give them expectations for the future.'
Aizawa, despite all he saw today, still looks at the flying away yellow octopus with narrowed suspicious eyes.
'But, I guess that doesn't make you a bad teacher.'
But even with such negative thoughts towards the tentacle emoji, even Aizawa couldn't deny or ignore the results given.
'For now you've earned my approval to teach... At least until we find a way to kill you.'
So for now, all Aizawa could do was just accept Koro-Sensei, even though he was the target and a threat that needed to be killed, he couldn't ignore his skills as a teacher and how helpful he could be for the students who wanted to be heroes.
"Oh yeah, those who failed will get extra homework."
"WHAT?!"
____________
I have ideas, but I'm open to suggestions on how to continue this story~
(Also probably not, but do you think I should add romance for Koro-Sensei? Again not required, but I'm open to the idea~)
