(S.1 Ep.6) Test Time

In Class 3-E~

     "Now, class...Shall we begin?" Korosensei said while going left and right super fast, making it look like there are multiple versions of Korosensei.

     'Oh god...' You thought to yourself as you sweatdropped. "Begin what?" Everyone, but Karma, said as they sweatdropped.

     "The time has come for the midterms!--Yes, that's right. And that's why this period will be spent in a high-speed study session!" Korosensei shouted.

     Each clone went to each student, "My clones can work with you one-on-one to drill you on each of your worst subjects."

     You smiled a little, "Hmm, this might be helpful for me. I have terrible grades in English anyways."

     "Ridiculous. He even switches headbands for each subject." Terasaka complained.

     Korosensei arrives but with a Naruto headband on.

     "Hey! Why do I get a Naruto headband?!" Terasaka yelled at him angrily.

     I think Korosensei is getting faster and faster. Six Japanese, eight math, three social studies, four science, five English, one Naruto.

     Splitting up for each student like that?

     It wasn't too long ago that he could only handle four or five clones.

     Korosensei face then made a curve.

     You jolted at this, "What the?"

     "No sneak assassinations now, Karma-kun!" Korosensei scolded him, "Dodging will disrupt my persistence of vision!"

     Throughout Korosensei's rant, Karma just simply stuck his tongue out.

     Nagisa looked at Korosensei, "These clones are so fine and delicate." Korosensei's face went back to normal, "But do you have any strength left after making them?"

     "Not to worry. I have one clone resting outside." Korosensei replied.

     Outside is a clone relaxing with coffee in one tentacle while reading a magazine.

     "How is that helping?!" Nagisa exclaimed, he then kept staring at the window.

     This power-up in acceleration...

     He must be gearing up to destroy the earth a year from now.

     "That's not how you do it, (Y/N)-san." Korosensei reassured you.

     You groaned in frustration, "This is hard."

     No matter how you slice it, he's one tricky target for us killers.

     "So, do you understand so far, Nagisa-kun?" Korosensei asked him.

     "Yes, sir." Nagisa smiled.

     If you're facing exams... he's a good teacher to have.

After School~

     Some students are walking back home and some are staying behind for a bit to clean.

In The Staff Room~

     A rubric cube is twisted.

     "I want to line up the colors on this cube--all of them, and quickly, with a method anyone could use." He keeps trying to solve the puzzle.

In The Hallway~

     Kayano is wiping the windows and Nagisa is sweeping the floor.

     "Goodbye, Korosensei!" Nagisa says to him.

     "How would you go about it,"

     Korosensei laughs, "Hope you manage to kill me tomorrow!"

     "--teachers?"

In The Staff Room~

     Korosensei walks in and sees a man breaking a Rubix cube.

     "The answer is simple."

Kunugigaoka Academy
Principal Gakuho Asano

     "Take them apart and put them back together again. Very logical." He then sees Korosensei and smiles, "We meet at last, Korosensei."

     Korosensei closes the door behind him and makes a confused noise.

     "He says he's the principal of this place." Bitch-sensei informed Korosensei.

     "As teachers, he's our boss." Karasuma stated.

     Korosensei screams and quickly tries to butter him up, "My, my--you've come all this way (knead knead)!" The principal just simply sat in his chair and smiled.

     Nagisa walks by the Staff room and looks at what's happening in the room.

     "Say, might I receive a little bump in my salary?" Korosensei tried to convince him, Nagisa sweat dropped.

Korosensei's Weak Point #6
Subservient to higher-ups

     "I've added a few More clones, you see, and I'm sure in your power to--"

     "I must apologize." Principal Asano looked back at Korosensei, "I'd meant to come pay my respects." He stood up from his seat,

     "The Ministry of Defense and Karasuma-sensei have told me all about you. I can't claim to understand everything, but...

     How very sad you are. Looking to become the savior of the world, only to fall into the role of the great villain who would destroy it."

     Nagisa is surprised at what he's saying, 'Savior? Villain?'

     "But let's set that aside for now. Struggle as I might, I cannot hope to save the planet from its crisis.

     Barring the unexpected, I'll stay out of your assassination altogether." Principal Asano walked away, not before stopping at where Karasuma is standing, "You've certainly paid me enough."

     "That will be helpful." Karasuma replied.

     "Well, aren't you rational! I do like a rational man." Bitch-sensei says to him.

     Principal Asano bowed, "I'm honored. However..." He walks to the window,

     "As principal, I must consider what's in store next year and beyond, should the Earth survive. In other words, if someone happen to kill you, what is this school's future?

     Frankly, we need the E Class to remain as it is." He has a dark shadow covering his front body.

     Nagisa felt a bit cautious.

     "As it is? You mean, rock-bottom grades and treatment, like now?" Korosensei questions.

     "Yes." The principal answered, "Are you familiar with the worker ant principal?

     In any group, 20 percent will be lazy, 20 percent will work hard, and the remaining 60 percent will be average.

     My goal is a group with 5 percent slackers and 95 percent hard workers.

     "I don't want to be like E Class."

     "I don't want to be in the E Class."

     With 95 percent of students thus determined, my ideal ratio is attainable."

     A shadow covers some of Korosensei's face, "I see. How logical. Then the 5 percent in the E Class must be kept weak and pitiful."

     "I received a complaint from the D Class teacher today: "A student from E Class glared at one of my students and threatened to kill him." " Principal Asano explains.

     Nagisa made a face, knowing the situation since he's the one to occur it.

     "I'm sure the glare is part and parcel of the whole assassination thing. And that's fine.

     The problem

     lies in a student with rock-bottom grades defying a regular one. Under my policies, that cannot stand." Principle Asano's eyes got dark,

     Karasuma keeps a straight face throughout the conversation, "Please tell him in no uncertain terms to control himself." Principal Asano walks to the door then suddenly stops midway,

     "Oh, and--Korosensei?" He throws a metal puzzle at him, "You have one second. Solve this."

     "What? Just like that?!" Korosensei panics and rushes to solve the puzzle.

One Second Later~

     Korosensei is still struggling and so,show manages to get his tentacles tangled up in it.

     Nagisa's jaw dropped, 'What the hell is this?!'

Korosensei's Weak Point #7
Metal ring puzzles freak him out

     "Your amazing speed lives up to the hype." Principal Asano speaks as Korosensei still struggles, "No doubt you can dodge any attempt on your life."

     Principal Asano walks to Korosensei, who is chewing on his own tentacle, "But you know, Korosensei..." Korosensei stops struggling, "There are some problems speed can't solve."

     After a moment of silence.

     "Now, if you'll excuse me." Principal Asano escorted himself out.

In The Hallway~

     Nagisa sees that he's heading for the door and he quickly moves out of the way.

     Principal Asano sees Nagisa, who gave him a small nod, he smiled, "Hey there! Looking forward to seeing your midterm results! Good luck."

     Nagisa made a little gasp.

     Principal Asano then replaces his smile with serious look on his face. Nagisa hears him walking away loudly as if they're in a hallway made of metal.

     With that dry "good luck," I went from being an assassin back to the End Class, just like that.

In The Staff~

     Karasuma looks down at Korosensei, 'As a target, this guy is practically invincible. His assassination is entirely within our control.

     But as a teacher, there's someone more powerful pulling the strings:'

Outside~

     Principal Asano is walking back while a strong wind blows sideways.

     the principal of Kunugigaoka Academy, Gakuho Asano.'

Inside~

     Karasuma holds a paper of the principal, "A shrewd manager who, in its first ten years, made this school one of the nation's best.

     There's no escaping the structure he's built here." He looks back at Korosensei, "Not even for you."

     Korosensei stays on the floor. The metal puzzle broke apart from his tentacle.

The Next Day~

     "Good morning, class." Korosensei greeted.

     More copies of Korosensei appear before the class' eyes, "Today I've tried making even more of me!"

     Nagisa made a face, 'That's way too many!'

     Your eyes widen, 'My eyes can't keep up with this many!'

     Each clone went a student, "Now, let's begin."

     Even the afterimages are getting sloppy.

     The students are stressing out from the large amount of clones that Korosensei made.

     So sloppy, it's like he's turning into someone else!

     Kayano made a nervous smile, "What's wrong, Korosensei? Isn't this a little too gung ho?"

     "Hmm? Not at all!" Korosensei replied.

     Nagisa's mind kept rewinding to that moment with the principal.

Flashback~

     Principal Asano then replaces his smile with serious look on his face.

     "We need the E Class to remain as it is."

End Of Flashback~

     The bell rings, signalling the class to stop what they're doing.

     The students are looking at their dead beat teacher, who is fanning himself with a red face.

     "You know, he does look pretty beat." Maehara scans Korosensei.

     Nakamura held up a knife, "Maybe now's our chance!"

     "Why's he teaching this hard, anyway?" Okajima asked.

     "Maybe it's because he has some sort of goal in mind." You guessed.

     Korosensei made a weak laugh, "All to get your test scores up! If that happens..." A glow appeared in his eye.

In Korosensei's Mind~

     The students are running to him with a smile on their face while holding onto their tests.

     "Korosensei!"

     "I got a good score--thanks to you!"

     "You're the greatest teacher I've ever had!" You giggled.

Students gazing at him with respect~

     "I can't live without your classes, Korosensei! I could never kill you!" Isogai admitted to him.

Local big-chested college students who've heard how good he is~

     "Oh, sir, help us study, too!" The female begged.

Out of Korosensei's Mind~

     "...and with no fear of being killed, I'll be rolling in good fortune!" Korosensei is now pink.

     The students look at each other with a sigh.

     "Uh," Mimura looks at Yada, "the whole studying part is fine and all..."

     Yada smiled nervously, "Yeah, but if we assassinate him, we get ten billion yen."

     "And with ten billion, you don't need good grades to live the good life!" Nakamura stated.

     Korosensei panicked, "I-Is that what you think?!"

     You nodded, "I mean, an opportunity like this doesn't come around that often."

     Okajima agreed, "She's right. Also, we're the End Class, Korosensei."

     "Assassination is way more accessible to us than any exam." Mimura added.

     Korosensei held his head down, "Ah. I see how it is."

     His students look at him with confusion.

     "How what is?" Mimura questioned.

     Korosensei stood with his head still down, "You still don't have what it takes to be assassins." His face is purple, "Out into the schoolyard, all of you!"

ASSASSINATION CLASSROOM
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Outside~
     Everyone followed Korosensei's directions and went outside, only to see him standing in the middle of the field by himself.
     "What's the big idea, sendin' us all out into the yard like this?"
     "Who knows? A bad mood came over him all of a sudden."
With Korosensei~
     'One good thing about the E Class system is its built-in remedial process. By scoring in the top 50 of 186 students on periodic exams
     and receiving permission from their former teacher to return, they can leave this outcast E Class.
     However,
     it's too difficult to meet these conditions given their poor grades in this academic environment. Most E Class students being made to feel remediation is far out of reach,'
     Korosensei pushes an object into the middle of the field.
     'face intense discrimination.'
With The Students~
     "What do you mean, hurry up?" Bitch-sensei complained to Kataoka, who dragged her outside.
     "Korosensei asked us to bring you." Kataoka replied and went with the other students.
     Korosensei calls out to her, "Irina-sensei, let me ask you something as a professional assassin."
     "What is all this?" Bitch-sensei asks him.
     "When you're on a job, do you have one single plan prepared?" Korosensei ignores her question.
     She blinks then gets serious, "No... It's not often that my main plan goes as expected. Making more detailed backup plans in preparation for any contingencies
     is Assassination 101."
     "And you, Karasuma-sensei. When you teach knife skills, is the first strike the only important one?"
     Karasuma answers, "The first strike is of course the most important, but your next move matters, too.
     Against a powerful foe, your blow is likely to be dodged, so the precision with which you can land your second and third blows can decide the fight."
     Maehara speaks up, "Look, what are you getting at?"
     Korosensei then spins around, "As your teachers have said, having a trusty second step is what makes for a confident assassin.
     But what about you? "We've got assassination, and that's enough," you think, and down go your academic goals." His speed increases,
     "You're just trying not to face the reason for your inferiority complex." A strong wind is being created by Korosensei's spinning,
     "What if I got away from this classroom? If another killer managed to do me in? Without the assassination you rely on, all you're left with is good ol' E Class inferiority.
     As word of advise from me to you, as you walk that first line:" a massive tornado is now in vision,
     "Those who can't wield a second blade aren't qualified to be an assassin!"
     Massive winds are booming all around the field and throughout the school itself.
     With this much wind the tornado became much higher, enough for the students in the main campus to spot.
At The Main Campus~
     "What the—?!" A student exclaims from the sight he is seeing right now.
     "There's a huge tornado on the E Class's mountain!"
     Principal Asano clearly saw this and smirked with a dark face, 'Show-off.'
At The E Class~
     The harsh wind stops and the clouds were cleared away from the tornado and the light shined down below on the E Class.
     The students opened their eyes.
     "The yard was very uneven and full of weeds. I tidied it up."
     Everyone was shocked from the sight before them, when the dust cleared away.
     Korosensei is standing in place with glowing red eyes, "I am a super-creature capable of wiping out the Earth. Flattening out this area here is a piece of cake."
     You along with your classmates kept their eyes on Korosensei.
     You clench your top, 'He looks terrifying right now.'
     "If you can't show me that trusty second blade, I'll know there's no assassin in this classroom worth taking me on, and I'll flatten this entire campus before I go."
     "A second blade? When?" Nagisa asks.
     "Tomorrow, of course."Korosensei answers him, "I want all of you in the top 50 after tomorrow's midterms." The number 50 appears on his forehead.
     The students jaw dropped at what the request.
     Korosensei opens his arms, "I've already been developing your second blades. I don't use the doltish teaching methods they do at the main campus."
     Korosensei puts his arms down and points at them, "Wield those blades with all confidence! Succeed in your mission and hold your head high, smiling, unashamed.
     You are proud assassins—and proud members of the E Class!"
     Then...
     ...it was midterm time.
~~~~~

At The Main Campus~

     The teacher tapped his finger onto the desk beside him with a smug look on his face.

     Everyone in the room had a difficult time doing the questions.

     'Oh no... I don't know if I can do this!' You panicked in your head and erased your previous answer.

     All students took these exams at the main campus, which means it was only an away game for us E Class students.

In The Test~

     Nagisa screamed when the monster came and tried to attack him. All the E Class students ran away from the giant reptilian creature.

     Sugino holds up his knife, "One knife isn't enough to kill it! What's with this Question 4?!"

     Question 4 then attempts to once again attack on the students, it dives straight into them, but the students ran away in time.

     You felt yourself shake, "How are we gonna beat it? This is impossible!"

     I was well aware...

In Reality~

     Nagisa felt uneasy with this question.

     ...that our school's exams are the pits. Oh, no... I don't know where to begin! If this keeps up, this question...

In The Test~

     Question 4 roared at Nagisa.

     ...will do me in!"

With Korosensei~

     Korosensei stands out in the open, staring at the sky with a butterfly just sitting on his head.

     He then disappears out of thin air when Bitch-sensei threw a knife at him.

    She puts her hands on her hips, "Seriously? You'll really leave if they don't all make the top fifty?"

     "Yes." He replies.

     She has annoyed look on her face, "No way in hell! They've had the worst grades until just recently!"

     "I wonder. I don't know about the past, but they're my students now." Korosensei picks up the knife with a paper.

     He holds it up next to him, "When you're in a tight spot, protect yourself." The butterfly lands on the top of the blade, "That's the weapon I've given them."

At The Main Campus~

In The Test~

     Nagisa can practically see Korosensei's glowing tentacle guiding him.

     I'm sure I taught you this. That's no mystery monster.

     Korosensei made Nagisa point the blade at Question 4.

     Start by observing that fin carefully.

     See? On closer inspection, it's just a fin.

     Look carefully at each part of the question one by one, then string them all together to see the whole:

     The monster was washed away and it revealed its true form: a fish.

     See? What a trivial adversary!

     Nagisa smiled in relief.

     Now use your blade to cook it up.

     I got it!

     Nagisa cuts the fish, or in this case, completing question 4 with no problem.

In Reality~

     The teacher's eyes widen at the students.

     The trick to working out the important parts of a question—it's all just like Korosensei taught us!

     The teacher looks at the students doing the test with more confidence.

     This question...

In The Test~

     Question 4 is down.

     ...is dead meat!

     And the next one!

     Yoshida killed off the next one.

     And the one after that!

     Hayami stabbed the next one.

     And—

     The horror of the unexpected question just happened.

     Nagisa eyes are filled with fear after seeing his classmates get attacked.

     Question 11 stood up, Nagisa turned around to look at it, Question 11 swung at him.

     And then an unseen question beat us to death from behind.

     Principal Asano is sitting on his chair in a dark atmosphere while smiling.

After The Test~

With Karasuma~

     "What's the meaning of this?" Karasuma complained, "I felt the Test was markedly lacking in fairness."

     "That's strange. You should have been notified." A scummy voice replied to Karasuma,

Nagisa Shiota - Total score: 315
Ranked 105th of 186

     Maybe some kind of communication slip-up on your end?

Yuma Isogai - Total score: 367
Ranked 68th of 186

     I mean, you're not coming to the main campus either way." The Main on the other line laughed.

Ryoma Terasaka - Total score: 230
Ranked 159th of 186

     "I can't say there was—and regardless, this is highly unusual. Two days before the exams, and you broaden the scope to cover all subjects?"

     "You don't seem to understand, uh, Karasuma-sensei. We are a prep school. Testing students of last-minute cramming is part of our policies.

     Why, the main-campus students had the principal himself take the stage and give a splendid lecture about the changes." The guy explained.

     Karasuma glared up ahead, 'Is there nothing that man won't do in the name of his own doctrine?' He ends the call, 'They've put us in a fine spot.'

     Karasuma looks at Korosensei, 'If he leaves the E Class, we lose everything.'

With Korosensei~

     Korosensei kept his back faced at his students.

     You sighed at your score, 'Dammit! I should've went with my gut on question 14!'

     "I take all responsibility. I seem to have underestimated the system at this school. I can't bear to face you." Korosensei spoke softly.

     There was a moment of silence till Korosensei yelped in fright on how close the knife was at striking him.

     "You sure? If you can't face us, you can't see us coming to kill you." Karma slowly walks to Korosensei with his papers in his hand.

     Korosensei turned red, "Karma-kun! I'm very depressed right now, and—" he turned yellow, he stopped his rant and saw Karma's grades on his papers.

     "Changing the questions didn't matter to me." Karma simply smiled.

     Everyone stood up and saw his grades.

     "Whoa!"

     Isogai is shocked, "100 in math? No way!"

     You couldn't believe your eyes, "Wow Karma, you're really smart!"

     Karma continued to keep his gaze at Korosensei, "With my grades, you taught...

     ...more than you had to. So I could handle the questions even if they'd changed their scope.

     Still,

     I won't be leaving.

     Assassination is way more fun than going back to my old class. So what's the plan?

     You gonna use our not all making it into the top fifty as an excuse to turn tail and run?" Karma got up on Korosensei's face, "You're just afraid of being killed, that's all."

     Karma took out his knife. Korosensei grew a tick mark from Karma's words.

     The students then smiled at Karma's statement for Korosensei being afraid.

     Kataoka nudged Maehara.

     Maehara smiled with his arms over his head, "Oh, is that it? You were afraid!"

     "You should have just told us!"

     "Right? Like, "I'm scared and want to run away!" "

     "You're such a coward, Korosensei." You laughed.

     More tick marks appear on Korosensei's face as he turns red, he waves his tentacles around, "I am not running away!"

     "Oh? Then what?" Karma asks.

     Korosensei stops to look at him, then at his students while pointing a finger at them, "We'll get our revenge on them twofold in the end-of-term exams!"

     The students simply laugh.

    Korosensei panicked, "This is no laughing matter! Honestly!"

     We ran smack into a wall there with our midterms, a big thick wall surrounding the E Class.

     "Aren't you thoroughly disappointed?!"

     Karma looks away sticking his tongue out.

     But inside, I was proud.

     "Ready, now, after me: fight!"

     Proud to be in the E Class.
