Prologue

Pasha:

I darted across the room without making even a whisper of a sound- Stealth was my specialty.

My victim was still oblivious to my presence and his impending doom as he started to remove his robes to change into his night clothes.

I gripped the handle of my katana even tighter and was about to take another step to close in when he suddenly spoke up.

"You've been running around the room for quite a while. Are you planning to kill me?" He asked dryly in his smooth, velvety voice.

My eyes widened. How did he notice me? He was supposed to have night blindness!

"Although my eyes are pretty much useless in the dark, my hearing, however, is probably 20 times sharper than yours" he explained nonchalantly while he turned to face the direction I was in. I held back a gasp. He appeared to be looking right into my eyes, but it seemed as if he wasn't really looking at me.

He was blind in the dark afterall.

"I can hear your heartbeats...your breathing... impressively quiet" he complimented sincerely. "But I know exactly where you are. So just come out already, would you?" He said, bemused.

I decided to just play dumb, in case he was trying to trick me and stayed where I was, leaning against his closet; motionless.

I heard him sigh impatiently.

Then I was suddenly gripped firmly by the arm and tossed onto the floor. I gasped, caught off guard.

I didn't even hear him! He was quieter than even me?

Then I was pinned down by a sudden weight. My hands were pinned above my head, I couldn't move my legs, and I had a knife against my throat.

And not to mention, a chiseled, bare torso against my own.

I attempted to shake my hands free but he was too strong. I had lost my grip on my katana and it had apparently fallen somewhere.

Was this how it was going to end for me? A failed mission?

"Hmm... a girl..." he murmured.

I scowled and tried to use my knee to hopefully hit his groin, but his hold was firm.

He pressed the knife harder against my bare throat, "oh no you don't. That's not playing fair, little kitten." He whispered mischievously into my ear. I shivered slightly and he smirked in satisfaction.

His long, smooth locks were cascading around his defined face, it's raven color bringing out his rather pale skin and his blue-violet eyes.

He was beautiful.

Too bad my mission was to kill him.

"So we finally meet. My name's Pasha Storm and I'm here on a mission to kill you" I said bluntly.

He chuckled softly, seemingly amused.

"Nice to meet you, Pasha. My name is Jellal Zirconian."
