Twenty-Six

As soon as the couple landed in Kansai airport near their destination, they rented a car for their drive up to Katsura in Kyoto. It was only an hour and a half away which they were glad for, considering the awful heat that welcomed them as soon as they stepped foot out of the air-conditioned airport.

'Can you turn on the AC a little higher, please? I'm melting over here.' Taehyung complained from his place in the passenger seat as he fanned himself with a hand. The sun was making it worse for him since it seemed to shine only on his side, leaving Jeongguk in the pretty hands of shadows.

'This is the highest it can go.' Jeongguk said, watching a frown spread on his boyfriend's handsome face. 'Just hang on a little more, babe. We'll be there soon.' He extended his hand to caress Taehyung's thigh gently.

'I love Japan but man it is hot here.' Taehyung sighed, looking out the window at the scenery going by at a high speed.

'Maybe you should stop thinking about it and you won't feel it with such intensity.' Jeongguk chuckled, amused by the whiny blond but it was okay because it was his whiny blond which automatically meant it was cute.

'It's not as easy as it sounds.' The older sighed, leaning his head back against the headrest.

'Do you want me to pull over for a bit so you can get in the back seat behind me?' Jeongguk asked concerned, looking around for an empty parking lot at the side of the city road.

'No need.' Taehyung said as he unclicked the seatbelt and climbed on the passenger seat to move between the front seats towards the back. 'Done! This is a great idea, babe.' The blond said as he leaned forward to press a kiss at the side of his boyfriend's neck.

Jeongguk could only giggle at the surprising feeling of warm lips against his skin. Goosebumps rose all over his body as the tingly sensation sent a wave of heat through his system, making the younger feel like jello.

'Baby, I'm driving...' His voice trailed off, melting at the little pecks the older left all over the right side of his neck as a hand ran through his fluffy hair.

'I know.' Taehyung said, smirking at him through the rearview mirror.

'Don't, please.' Jeongguk gulped, trying his best to focus on driving when every part of him was screaming at him to pull over in a secluded area, away from people and join his boyfriend in the backseat.

'Just keep driving. Don't worry about me.' The blond whispered as he continued his ministrations, massaging every part of the younger's body he could reach.

'It's not you I'm worried about...' The other muttered, looking down at his lap with a shaky sigh. 'But if you keep on doing what you're doing I'm gonna have to pull over and that means your uncle could have the chance to slip away and flee the country.' Jeongguk threatened, knowing how badly Taehyung wanted to catch his uncle. It wasn't the place nor the time for his hormones.

'Fine, I'll behave.' Taehyung sighed, pulling away and resting back against his seat with his bare feet up on the cushions. 'For now, at least...' He mumbled more to himself.

"You have reached your destination." The monotone voice of a woman filled the silence that had settled in the car. Taehyung was too focused on his phone to talk while Jeongguk was concentrating on the road and following the GPS thoroughly.

They were currently parked across the street from the house that Hoseok described to be Mr. Woo's property. The villa looked really expensive as it was expected; being located in the rich district of the city. The building looked like it stretched for a thousand yards, surrounded by nature.

The garden was brought to life by tall, nicely trimmed bushes between the several traditional statues placed in a pattern that seemed to confuse the guests if they weren't lead to the front door by someone who was already accustomed to the labyrinth.

'Taehyung. We're here.' Jeongguk gently shook his lover's leg that was resting right above the handbrake.

'Oh wow... He really made use of all that dirty money.' Taehyung muttered, surprised by the sight that welcomed him.

Just thinking of the source of where that money came from made the older grimace in disgust. How could his own uncle be so ruthless, making money by mixing drugs into people's prescription pills, especially after knowing about his own sister's addiction?

Woo didn't even care about Taehyung's mother when she was admitted into the rehab clinic she was currently staying at. He never visited her nor did he ask about her well being for the past five years. Taehyung just wished he could've seen through his lies sooner so he wouldn't accept his job proposal at the firm.

'Bastard...' He swore under his breath, teeth gritted from the hatred that filled his heart. 'I just wanna see him behind bars as soon as possible.'

'And you will. We're not letting him slip through our fingers.' Jeongguk nodded, his mind already putting together the perfect plan to trick the old man.

'This mansion seems pretty big. How are we gonna cover that much ground just the two of us? He could be moving around with us and we wouldn't even know.' Taehyung said, looking through the window as he scanned the field and trying to come up with a plan on how to approach the situation without being detected.

'Don't worry about it. I already have something in mind.' Jeongguk smirked cockily, owning up to his high rank of assassin close to a master. 'We know he must have security cameras throughout his courtyard and house, of course, but I have a few gadgets laying around in my SUV that could help us.'

'Like what?' Taehyung asked, curious more than anything.

Jeongguk was the type of person to be prepared for anything life threw his way. It was understandable after all the younger has been through and especially giving his field of work. He couldn't afford to be unprepared on a mission or going back and forth between the headquarters and the target's destination. Jeongguk was a professional and he showed it.

'I have a few smoke bombs, infrared and t-ray goggles. Pistols too, although I doubt we will need them. Just made sure you have your hidden blade hooked to your wrist and it should be alright.' Jeongguk said as he pressed a button on the car's roof, the dashboard made a whole 180 degrees turn, showing off the said gadgets stripped perfectly to the panel.

'Wow...' The older's eyes went wide at the display in front of him. He didn't know Jeongguk had his car modified that much. 'Uhm but are the smoke bombs enough to not trigger an alarm? Wouldn't he find the sudden cloud of smoke suspicious?' Taehyung asked, taking the pair of t-ray goggles from their place to put them on.

'For the cameras, I have something else that will help us freeze them just long enough for us to pass undetected.' Jeongguk said as he pulled out an iPad from the glove compartment.

While the younger was trying to be serious, explaining the situation to his partner and expecting the blond to be all ears and pay attention to what he was being told, Taehyung was busy looking at Jeongguk through the goggles and frowning a little too adorably for the younger's liking, giving their situation.

'Tae, those goggles can't see through clothes if that's what you're looking for, you pervert. They help you see through walls and skin.' Jeongguk chuckled at his boyfriend's disappointed loud sigh.

'They should make those, you know...'

'And you need those what for...? You already see me naked every morning.' The younger frowned amused at the other's nonsense.

'Yeah but what if I crave to see you naked when we're not alone?' Taehyung smirked devilishly, pulling the goggles off to put them back.

'You are such a pervert, oh my god.' Jeongguk feigned offense before bursting into laughter when Taehyung launched at him to kiss him briefly. 'Alright! We need to focus, Taehyung! Stop distracting me with your nonsense.' The younger pulled back, gently nudging the blond back to his spot.

'My nonsense, huh? You'll see nonsense when we get home.' The older threatened, making the young assassin roll his eyes at his antics. 'So what is your plan?' Taehyung asked, taking a serious demeanor.

'We'll need to split up.' Jeongguk started but was immediately interrupted by Taehyung, panic spreading through the older's body.

'What? What do you mean split up? You can't leave me alone with him.'

'Tae, it's gonna be alright. You trained for months. Just don't let him see you're afraid.' Jeongguk tried to calm him down with a soothing voice.

'And what are you gonna do?' Taehyung questioned, confused and curious as to why he'd leave him alone with the big boss.

'My dad is in that house. I need to find him before your uncle has the chance to harm him any longer.'

'I thought we were going to get your dad after we'd cuff Woo.' Taehyung pouted, a little disappointed that his idea wasn't good enough for Jeongguk to follow. But he was after all older at their job.

'It's too risky that way and I can't risk this. I know you can handle this or else I wouldn't have asked you to come with me on this mission.'

'He's gonna know we're here for him and he's gonna call back up. How am I supposed to handle all of them, Jeongguk?' Taehyung was starting to panic, already thinking of the worst that could happen: getting outnumbered especially when he's a novice.

'Tae, just calm down. You're gonna tell him you ran away from us and you didn't know where to go to hide. You tell him that Hoseok gave you his address when you bumped into him, running away from the assassins and that you lost us at the airport. It's gonna be alright.' Jeongguk elaborated his plan, taking the older's hands into his to rub small, gentle circles into the skin to calm him down before he leaned in to place a quick peck on his cheek.

'What if he doesn't believe me, Guk? I'm scared.' Taehyung started nibbling on his bottom lip, the anxiousness taking over his body with each passing second his mind made up the different scenarios, and none of them good, that could eventually come true.

'We're gonna keep in touch, babe. Please, calm down. I'm not gonna leave you alone to fight him if it ever comes to it.' Jeongguk said as he picked up a pair of two black Bluetooth headsets, handing one to Taehyung.

'Isn't this gonna give away our plan? It's quite visible.' The blond pointed out, looking at the gadget worriedly.

'Great observation, Tae. That was a small test. What we're gonna use instead are some small in ears.' Jeongguk said, taking a small box from the left side of the dashboard and opening it to pass one of the chips to Taehyung.

They surveyed the property for a few more hours while they went over the plan several times to calm down the blond and boost up his confidence. Jeongguk had to make sure his anxiety was at the lowest level so it wouldn't interfere with their mission; distracting Taehyung when he is supposed to be focused.

They geared up properly, choosing the equipment the young assassin knew they would be needing, judging by the high level of technology Woo used to secure the main gate. He used an interphone that had facial recognition. It was a bit difficult to hack but the assassins held the right technology to break any type of locks there were present at the moment.

Jeongguk took two pistols and made sure to apply the silencer to them - he didn't want to make any noise and have the cops on them just yet - before he handed one to his partner. The hidden blades were secured to their wrists as it always were when they left the headquarters; just for self-defense.

A couple of smoke bombs were necessary to pass the security cameras if they turned to be problematic and wouldn't let themselves be hacked, although, Jeongguk doubts anything like that would happen. The younger couldn't forget the mighty Ipad that would help them get past all security they might come across.

After they made sure to equip the smart glasses as well, they threw one last look at the empty garden of the property. It was already starting to darken outside, the orange light of the sunset turning into a caramel brown. Just a few more minutes and they'd have to get on the move.

'Alright. You ready?' Jeongguk asked for what he hoped to be the last time that evening. He needed to make sure Taehyung had his head in the game.

'I guess so...' The older said, voice a little insecure before he saw the look on the other's face, hinting that his response wasn't what he expected. 'I mean, yes! I am ready! Let's get my bastard of an uncle.' Taehyung said more enthusiastically.

'Just remember, don't let your guard down regardless of what he might say. Don't let him get into your head.' Jeongguk gave him the last pep talk he needed.

'I won't.' Jeongguk kissed his lips shortly as a good luck charm and they both exited the SUV.

It was dark enough outside for the cameras to not make sense of the view perfectly. They were also wearing all black, caps and masks hiding their face. As soon as they got close enough to the main gate, Jeongguk pulled out the Ipad to hack into the system of the security lock. A few taps and the logo on the interphone turned green as a click was heard and the gate opened ajar for them to push it open.

The garden was illuminated by tall pillars which held a few security cameras attached to them. He managed to hack into the first on and froze the whole network for as long as he needed.

'Let's avoid the main alley just in case this hack might fail.' Jeongguk whispered to Taehyung as he turned to the left, squeezing through the short wall of shrubs trimmed neatly on the side of the alley.

It wasn't long before they found the back door, hacking the lock and sliding inside the mansion as quietly as possible. It was pitch black, their hint to use the smart glasses that Jeongguk adored and as soon as they were on, everything looked so bright that it took a few seconds for their eyes to get accustomed to the intensity.

The excitement made Taehyung feel a little nauseous now that he was inside the house and so close to their target. It was his first real mission where anyone could get seriously injured if it came to such a situation. He drew a large breath of air to calm himself and they started moving forward.

Moving along the house they found two strong traces of body heat in the farthest room of the mansion and Taehyung sighed relaxed that he wouldn't have to deal with his uncle alone. One of the bodies was moving around the room as if impatient about something which Taehyung assumed was his uncle while the other was staying in the same place, most likely Jeongguk's father.

It was odd that the mighty Woo didn't think to have some guards patrolling through his house, knowing the assassins were hunting him down. He didn't think to have anyone protecting him. It was as if he wanted to get caught. And if that was the case, then why didn't he just give himself up to the police station or the assassins? Something was off.

It was to their advantage, nonetheless. The closer they got, the frightening it got for both of the assassins. Taehyung was going to face his uncle and confront him about everything that's been bothering him while Jeongguk was going to see his dad again after all the years he thought he was dead.

'Wait.' Jeongguk whispered, stopping Taehyung from opening the last door standing between them and their target. 'I think you should still enter alone and try what we talked about. See if he trusts you.'

'I don't think he will believe me after what he said on the phone.' Taehyung said, moving to turn the knob only to be stopped again.

'Something seems weird here. Why doesn't he have any guards? We got to him way too easily. I think he wants us to catch him.'

'Or maybe everyone left him after they found out what a horrible man he is.' The older frowned.

'If only it worked like that...' Jeongguk said, amused by the way Taehyung seemed to think things worked between criminals. 'Just follow our initial plan, okay? I'm right behind this door if you need me.' Jeongguk kissed him briefly for good luck and opened the door once Taehyung nodded his consent and approval as he took off the smart glasses to hand them to his partner since they were too conspicuous.

This was it. The moment that haunted his dreams for so many nights. The confrontation with his own uncle and the blond felt his knees weaken with each step he took inside the room, taking deep, quick breaths to show that he ran his way over to his uncle.

'Uncle! Thank God, you're here!' Taehyung said, out of breath as he clung to his stomach bending over to catch his breath.

Woo was sitting right in front of the window, looking at the pond outside with his hands behind his back. Far to his left was a man, hands tied up behind his back to the chair while his head hung low. Poor Mr. Jeon. He must've been tortured for hours. But what for? Taehyung will get his answers soon enough. The only thing he could do was to block out Mr. Jeon from his head for his plan to work.

'What? What is this? What are you doing here, you bastard?' Woo frowned, visibly annoyed by his nephew's presence in his house.

'I-I ran away from the assassins, uncle, and I bumped into Hoseok into the airport. He saw me running away from them and told me to come to this address.' His eyes were big and expressive to sell his part as well as he could.

'And you brought those sons of bitches right to my house?! How dare you?' Woo started pacing towards Taehyung, making his heart jump as adrenaline pumped through his veins.

'No! No! I managed to lose them before I reached the gate. I don't think they knew I took the flight to Japan.' Taehyung tried to convince his uncle.

'You have a lot of guts showing up here after our last conversation.' Woo muttered as he narrowed his eyes at the blond.

'Uncle, I would never betray you like that.' Taehyung said, more convincingly than ever.

If Jeongguk didn't know better he would think that Taehyung turned against him. The man acted out his role perfectly, judging by the way Woo started to relax in his presence.

'How did you escape the assassins?' Woo asked, curious about his answer.

'It was a piece of cake. I made the one in charge of guarding me fall in love with me. I have my charms uncle.' Taehyung smirked, relaxing a little bit more.

'And he just let you leave? Just like that?' Woo furrowed his brows, confused.

'Actually, we were on a  mission when I escaped.' The blond took a few steps closer in his uncle's direction.

'What do you mean we? You joined them?' The man tensed when Taehyung was just a few feet away from him.

When the younger remained silent, Woo's eyes turned comically wide wheels in his brain started working and realized what the blond was really saying.

'You know this is the only way, uncle. Aren't you tired of running?' Taehyung said, trying to get closer only for his uncle to step back. 'Of bringing missery to people's lives?'

'No. It's their own fault they buy the drugs, not mine.' Woo defended himself, slowly back away towards his desk.

'You're mixing it in their prescribed medication! Can't you see how wrong this is?' Taehyung snapped, not being able to keep his act any longer.

'I couldn't care less. They do it on their own account.' Woo shakes his head as he goes behind the desk to open the top drawer.

'Don't make another move.' Taehyung threatened, holding the gun Jeongguk gave him. 'Don't make this harder than it already is. I know you'll make the right choice and come with us otherwise you wouldn't be here alone with Mr. Jeon.' Taehyung said, hearing the door click as Jeongguk decided to join him.

As soon as he entered the room, the sight of Taehyung holding a gun towards their target was something he didn't expect. He knew the blond had it in him somewhere deep but he didn't expect him to pull a gun on his own relative. Jeongguk underestimated his hatred.

The sight of his father tied up to a sleazy chair was unbearable to the younger and it took him everything in his power to not surge towards the man to untie him and get him out of there. But the assassin in him set the priority straight. The target comes first, always. He must eliminate the threa before anything else.

'I always knew you were a bastard who'd betray his own family.' Woo said disgusted as he kept his hands in the air.

'Me? I betrayed our family?! How dare you say that to me when you were the one to start a business using the one thing that put your own sister into a mental assylum? You never visit her, never ask about her. You're a jackass and I'm glad you're going to jail.' Taehyung said through gritted teeth as Jeongguk moved behind the man to cuff his hands behind his back.

'Have you ever wondered where your mom got her fix?' Woo smirked, proud of himself.

'You sick bastard! ' Taehyung lauched forward, fist connecting with the man's jaw.

'Whoa! Hey, hey. Taehyung, easy.' Jeongguk tried to calm the blond.

'And have you ever wondered why your dad isn't with us anymore?' Woo continued his abuse.

'No... you didn't...' Taehyung's eyes welled up with tears. His uncle just adds fuel to the fire and it's hard to keep the flames from bursting out for the sake of the mission and Jeongguk's request.

'He was trying to sober her up and I couldn't have that. Not to say your mom was bringing me a generous number of clients.'

'You're lucky he has his hands on you right now.' Taehyung gritted through his teeth as he pointed towards his partner.

'Or else what? You were always a wuss, Taehyung.' Woo tried to proke him even more.

'Easy.' Jeongguk said, tightening his hold on the man's wrists until a groan was heard. 'Watch it. You might not get a beating from him but you will from me.'

'I knew you'd come, Mr. Jeon.' Woo said, swallowing thickly. 'You father kept calling your name these past few months, saying how I'll regret torturing him.' The smirk was high on his face.

'Then I guess you prepared for this too.' Jeongguk said, delivering a punch strong enough to make him lose consciousness.

'Why didn't you let me do that?' Taehyung pouted, a little disappointed that his partner didn't give him the satisfaction to take out his nerves on him.

'I promise I'll let you do it once we're back home.' Jeongguk said, rushing to get to his father's side. 'Now help me untie my dad.'

Taehyung was to his side in a heartbeat, moving gently to not hurt the man even more than he already was. There were cuts and bruises everywhere on his skin. The pulse was very low but still there and that was what mattered.

'I'll talk to Yoongi to send us a jet. We need to get home as soon as possible.' Jeongguk said as he dialed his Master's number.

'What are you gonna do when he sees your dad?' Taehyung asked, concerned about the confruntation because he knows there will be one.

'I don't know but I won't tell him about my dad yet. We need to deal with your uncle first.' Jeongguk said before the line went silent on the other end, signaling that Yoongi picked up his call. 'Master, we got Woo. Send the jet.'
