Twenty-Nine
'Yes, he is! I thought I told you to stop looking for him.' Yoongi said through gritted teeth. 'Since when did you start to disobey me?'
'Since I found out you're lying to my face.' Jeongguk spat out, fisting his hand as he tried to stay calm. He couldn't lash out to his Master before getting some answers; possibly about his mother.
'I told you the truth, Jeongguk-ssi. Your mother hasn't been around for a long time now.'
'Liar, I don't believe you.' Jeongguk gritted his teeth. 'Why don't you tell me the truth about what really happened to my parents.'
'I told you, already!' Yoongi growled, 'What has gotten into you? I sent you on a mission to kill that idiot, Woo, and you came back changed. What did he tell you?'
'It's not about what he told me. It's about what I saw there. His hostage.'
It took him a second to realize what the younger was talking about. That Woo! He was always careless about the orders. It was no surprise to Yoongi since they split up but he at least could've had the decency to not mess with the other's plans, knowing how important the young assassin was to the blond.
'Why did you do it, Yoongi?' Jeongguk mumbled, disappointed in the only man who was like a father to him. 'Are you that selfish that you had to steal away my parents?'
'It was for your own good, Jeongguk-ssi.' Yoongi said, eyes focused on the others.
'And may I ask how? What could possibly make you think that it was acceptable for you to do this? The younger's voice grew grave, stained with hurt.
'They were a weakness. You wouldn't have done what you did so far if they were by your side.' Yoongi explained softly. 'Admit it, Jeongguk, that pain made you stronger. I made you stronger.' He made sure to emphasize the right word.
'No, you only made me vengeful. I swore to punish the one who had stolen them away from me. And now that I found you, it's time to pay.' Jeongguk growled, lunching forward to the other's neck.
'Jeongguk, no!' Yoongi struggled to plead.
Just when he started to press a little harder on his windpipe, Yoongi fought back, throwing a punch to the younger's livers, making him take a few steps back as he coughed out the pain.
'Don't provoke me, little one!' The Master growled, rubbing at his neck to ease the stinging.
'Same warning applies to you, old man. I'm not a kid anymore. You have no idea of the power I possess.' He was breathing heavily, planing the moves in his head as he always did before he struck.
Although Yoongi was an older assassin, more experienced, and stronger in many ways, physical strength wasn't an advantage in the situation at hand. Jeongguk built more muscle core in a shorter time than the other and he liked to train more often than anyone.
It was no surprise when Jeongguk lunched at him swiftly that he took a hit right to his cheek, spitting out the blood that started to spill from the corner of his mouth.
'I'm not gonna tell you again. Tell me the truth!' The young man demanded as he grabbed the collar of Yoongi's shirt. 'Is my mother alive as well?'
'Yes, I know you stole my phone. Why do you even need to ask me this?' The blond sighed heavily, trying to keep his heart from pounding out of his chest.
'Where is she?' There was hatred latched into his words, making the other cringe.
'Far away from you. And if you want to keep her safe, I suggest staying away from her.'
'Don't make me ask you again.'
'She's in Tokyo, enjoying the time of her life, far away from you.' Yoongi smirked, even though he felt Jeongguk's grip tighten around his collar, getting closer to his neck again.
'You don't have the right to speak to me ever again. And I'll make sure you'll suffer for this.' Jeongguk pushed him into the wall harshly before swinging him around to clasp the hands behind his back.
Jeongguk pulled up a pair of handcuffs from his back pocket and secured them nicely around Yoongi's wrists. The older didn't even flinch, showing no signs of fighting back which took Jeongguk by surprise.
He willingly walked towards the cells they had in the basement of their quarters, looking quite sad. Or at least it looked like it.
'I'm sorry, Jeongguk.' He said as soon as the door closed behind the younger.
'No, you're not.' He shook his head, disappointed by the lies as he climbed the stairs back up.

It didn't take Jeongguk long to get back to his quarters to the others and explain what they had to do next. He wasn't sure if the other would help him achieve what he planned to do.
'So you want to go to Japan to find your mother?' Namjoon asked, rubbing his chin between his index and thumb.
'Why don't you just use the phone you stole from Yoongi?' Jimin shrugged his shoulders as if it was obvious enough.
'What if she wouldn't believe it was me?' Jeongguk said, fidgeting with the phone in his pocket.
'You have to at least try, Jeongguk.' Taehyung went to the desk where he knew he hid Yoongi's phone to pass it to the younger.
The younger opened the messaging application and started typing a series of words, not quite sure of what to say to the woman he hasn't seen since he was a little boy. A lot of thoughts passed through his mind, especially a certain what if. What if his mother grew accustomed to life without a son and was happy that way?
'What should I say to her?' Jeongguk nibbled on his lower lip as he turned towards his lover, looking for an answer.
'Just tell her what you feel.' Taehyung gave him an encouraging shoulder rub.
After only two rings, the line changed into a deathly silence before the voice of a woman tickled his ear. It felt overwhelming hearing his mother's voice after so long. Tears were starting to fill out his eyes as he swallowed thickly, trying to stop himself from letting the emotions get the best of him.
'Helloo? Is someone there?' The woman tried again.
'Mom?' It was a shaky sigh but Jeongguk finally let the word out of his mouth. 'Is that you?'
'What? Is this some sort of joke, Yoongi?' She was starting to get angry.
'No, mom, it's me Jeongguk.' He rushed to say before she got the chance to hang up on the call.
'What? How is that possible?' Her voice turned sweeter at the affirmation that it was indeed her son speaking to her. 'Where is Yoongi?'
'Behind bars, where he belongs.' Jeongguk said, hatred filling his voice at the thought that he trusted him with his life, only to find out that his selfishness took his parents away.
'What happened?' His mother asked again, genuinely curious.
'I'll explain everything when I'll come to pick you up. You're coming home, mom.'
There was a loud sigh coming from the other side of the line and it made Jeongguk emotional to know his mother still wanted to see him after all these years. It was time for his parents to see each other again and get their marriage back. Most importantly, their family.

After explaining to his mother all the murderous things he had to do at Yoongi's command, the woman remained speechless. She didn't expect it would get so messed up after they left. Her son was supposed to be taken care of by their friend, not turned into a killing machine.
Yuji had only herself to blame for everything her son went through for the past couple of years. She shouldn't have gone along with Yoongi's torturous plan.
Before she even knew what she was doing, she found herself walking around the headquarter towards the elevator. She had only one thing to do to at least make herself feel half as guilty.
'You're sure you want to get inside his cell, Miss?' The guard asked skeptically. As if Yoongi really was that dangerous She rolled her eyes internally as she nodded demandingly.
'It's fine. He wouldn't hurt me.' The woman shrugged him off, waiting for the man to guide her towards their ex-master's cell. 'I would also like some privacy once we get there.'
'It's against the policy, Ma'am. I'm sorry but you can't remain alone with a prisoner.' The guard puffed his chest to show some authority.
'Since when? You do know who you're talking to, right?' Yuji narrowed her eyes, starting to get annoyed at the man's boldness.
She was going to have an important conversation with the man and the subject she wanted to scold Yoongi about couldn't reach anyone's ears. It was for everyone's best interest. It happened a long time ago and it was a mistake. But the matter is that it indeed happened and there was nothing anyone could do to change it.
'By the look in your eyes, I'll take it that you're new here. My name is Jeon Yuji and I'm Jeongguk's mother. Your superior as you may know. So if I say I'd want a few minutes alone with Yoongi, then I will get them. Period.' She stated matter-of-factly.
The man shrugged annoyed by the woman's nerve to give orders as if she was the boss, not her son. He did wonder if Jeongguk actually knew that his mother wanted to see and speak to the traitor. He also wondered what was so important that required that type of intimacy.
As soon as they got in front of Yoongi's cell, the shock was pretty obvious on the man's face when Yuji sent the deadliest stares his way. He knew what was coming. He has been expected it somehow, someway. Although, it was pretty surprising seeing her just a few feet from him.
'Y-Yuji?' Was the only thing he could mutter, surprised that she would even want to see him after everything that has happened. He knew that Jeongguk told her every little horrible thing he ordered the young man to do.
'Yoongi.' The woman said, no emotion visible on her face. 'Why?' Was the only word worth asking.
'Why what?' Yoongi asked back, trying to feign confusion.
'Don't play dumb with me, Yoongi! You know what.' Yuji rolled her eyes as she sat with her arms crossed over her chest. 'Why did you put my son through all that bullshit?' Her voice was stern as she tried to control her anger.
'I didn't do anything!' Yoongi frowned, raising his voice to try and make a point.
'Oh, so you didn't turn my son into a killing machine for your own personal pleasure?'
'No, I didn't. He did that as a coping mechanism after you left him.' The man reasoned with her, trying to put the blame on the poor woman.
'You know very well why I had to leave.' Yuji took a step toward the man, barely keeping her calm to not strangle him.
'I'm not the one responsible for your mistakes.' Yoongi shrugged as if the whole thing was just a consequence of her actions.
'You were the one who promised that if I'd leave, no one would know about it and you would be the one to take care of my son!' Yuji was getting frustrated by the lack of empathy he showed.
'I said I would keep him safe, and I did. I trained him to be safe, I taught him who to trust. I kept my part of the promise.' He explained with such calm that it infuriated Yuji even more.
'You erased me and Jonghyun from his life!' Yuji yelled at him, tears welling up in her eyes.
'Then you shouldn't have done what you did. You know it's frowned upon in our order and yet... you still did it, knowing there would be some consequences to your actions.' Yoongi was smirking, feeling smug about the fact that he got the last word.
He knew he was right. It was written all over Yuji's face, the guilt, the disgust by just speaking about it. It felt right at the moment but seeing how things evolved, the young woman would have taken it all back. She didn't fully know what frowned upon meant and how exactly it was punished.
'If I could take it back, I would. Trust me.' She said through gritted teeth.
'Would you really let your husband die rather than doing one tiny little favor?' Yoongi was pouting to emphasize the power he had over her.
'You made me sleep with you!' The woman yelled in frustration. 'And then you banished both me and my husband.
'I didn't make you do anything. Watch your language. You did it on your own accord.' Yoongi's face turned serious as he raised a finger to scold her.
'You gave me an ultimatum and it was just as bad.' Yuji said with a disappointed tone.
Just as she was about to turn and get back to her son's quarter, there was a mumbled apology coming from the man that seconds ago was so smug, even the Martians would feel it.
