Twenty-Five

As soon as Yoongi heard the news about Mr. Woo's location, he gave a direct order to Jeongguk and Taehyung to leave immediately for Japan, taking Jimin and Namjoon along with them as back up; in case they needed help.

They were all geared up with wireless earphones connected to their secret frequency that was designed especially for their mission to keep in touch with each other in case anything were to happen. The wrist blades were hooked on their right arm - Taehyung had it on his left since he was a lefty - and a small, unnoticeable pistol was resting at their sides, tucked into the hem of their pants, just for emergencies.

On the way to the airport, they all shared Jeongguk's SUV to discuss the strategy more openly. Taehyung sat in his rightful place on the passenger seat next to his boyfriend while Namjoon took the seat behind the youngest, with Jimin on his right.

After almost a year of searching for the most dangerous CEO in the nation, they were finally able to find out his location. The only thing left was for them to catch the man before he escaped again.

'Okay, so it's a given that he might have a clue we're coming for him since he hung up on Taehyung that quickly.' Jeongguk started, eyes focused on the road.

'What did he say, exactly?' Jimin asked from his place on the back seat as he leaned up to hold onto Taehyung's chair.

'He said that he knew my phone call was a trick and he won't let you find him so easily.' The blond turned around in his seat to look at the pair in the back.

'Well... that's not good.' Namjoon hummed thoughtfully as he rubbed at his chin. 'Jeongguk, how do you propose we do this?'

'We need to be prepared for anything that could happen. Just stay on guard on full time and be aware of your surroundings. He might try to run away from Japan. Yoongi called the custom police to warn them.' The younger ordered, speeding through the traffic to get to the airport as fast as possible.

One look in the rearview mirror and he saw them nodding along to the instructions before he took a left at the first intersection, five minutes away from the airport parking lot. It felt unreal how close they were to catching the man who's been indirectly killing thousands of people.

'Beware of Hoseok too. He's gotta be trying to get back in the country as well. Pay extra attention at the airport. If he managed to already get back in the country it's gonna be a problem. Hopefully, he didn't leave without his boss.' Jeongguk continued, glancing at Taehyung quickly who was fidgeting relentless.

'We will be careful. It'll better if we split up into teams, though.' Jimin suggested, looking at Namjoon for approval.

'That's a great idea. I'll go with Jimin and you'll go with Taehyung. That way we can cover more ground.' Namjoon nodded, content with the decision he took.

The airport was crowded as usual, regardless of the hour of the day or night, which troubled the assassins even more. If they were worried about surveilling the building before, now it felt like hell. It felt like searching for needles in a bale of hay, except the needles were Hoseok and Woo. And the bale of hay was the biggest airport in the country.

It was next to impossible to check every person that walked past them but that didn't stop them from continuing their search. Best case scenario, they'd bump right into the bastards unknowingly but they were certain that would be too easy on their part, so they focused on scanning every person that was in their sight.

'Okay, guys. This place is a maze and it would take too long to scan the whole building, so the plan is to take different floors on the route to the gate we have to board.' Jeongguk ordered, looking around the crowd, scanning the area.

'Alright, Namjoon and I will take the ground floor. You and Taehyung can check the first floor.' Jimin suggested, checking his phone to see if their Master might've sent him any notification with an update on the situation.

'If you find anything, let us know. We'll do the same.' Namjoon said, gently nudging Jimin's elbow to start moving.

Jeongguk was already used to being hyperaware of the environment after being an assassin for most of his life. It became his sixth sense. With just a glance thrown around the room, he managed to scan the crowd for anyone who might've looked suspicious.

Taehyung, on the other hand, felt lost. He could barely keep up with Jeongguk's fast pace, always turning around to check if he missed anyone. It was his first time out on the field on an important mission and he felt giddy with adrenaline by just thinking of the possibility that he might be the one to catch their targets.

It was by the time they reached the middle of the airport that Jimin had called in to let them know that things weren't going that well for them either. No sign of neither one of their targets.

'As a matter of fact, I don't think I've seen anyone look as unsuspicious as they are right now. Something isn't right.' Jimin narrowed his eyes, scanning the room one more time just in case he might've missed something.

'I know. It's really difficult but don't let your guard down. We still have half of this airport to check. I'll update you if anything happens.' Jeongguk reported as he moved through the crowd with Taehyung right behind him.

To prevent losing each other in the sea of people rushing to their flights, most of the time not even looking where they were going, Taehyung hooked his pinky around Jeongguk's. The younger didn't even notice the added warmth to his hand as he was too busy scanning the room.

'Boss, I don't think it's a good idea to come back just yet. I already bumped into a few assassins just as I got out of the plane. They're looking for us.' Hoseok spoke into the microphone of his phone as he walked past the people sat in the middle of the corridors searching for their gate numbers to correspond to the tickets.

He chose to wear casual clothes to blend in more naturally, opting for a black t-shirt and a pair of jeans, topping it all with a black hat. He decided to skip the mask since it would've made it seem suspicious hiding his face. He was anxious the whole time ever since he stepped foot off the plane and the only thing he wanted more than anything in the world was to exit that airport alive and free.

'It isn't a good idea to stay here either. Taehyung knows this place and he's gonna come for me. I'm sure he's working with those bastards.'  Woo's voice was heard through the speaker, stern and rough with frustration.

'I'm sure he wouldn't do that to you after everything you've done for him.' Hoseok tried to reason with his boss. It was too dangerous for him to fall into the hands of the assassins.

If Hoseok got captured, Woo could get him out in no time. The man had his connections. But if the boss himself got caught, their business would go to hell and they didn't want that. They were far too deep into the mess to give it up.

'That son of a bitch was always ungrateful to me. I'm gonna move to our villa in Kyoto. It's relatively new, so he doesn't know its whereabouts. Good luck, Hobi! I'll wait for an update on your situation.'  Woo said before he hung up, leaving Hoseok to concentrate on avoiding running into the enemies.

'There's no way we'll find them here.' Taehyung said, getting the younger's attention as the grip on his hand tightened just a little more.

'We will. Have a little faith and we they'll fall right into our hands.' Jeongguk said over his shoulder right before Namjoon's voice was heard through his in-ear piece.

'Guess who bumped into us? Literally.' Namjoon chuckled on the other end of the line. 'Meet us near gate 79, in the bathroom. Jimin will stay outside to meet you guys.'

'On our way.' Jeongguk responded before he pulled on Taehyung's hand to start walking towards the destination their colleague told them. 'Told you a little faith was all we needed to get them.'

Taehyung gave him a short smile before they started speed walking past the groups of people walking confusedly around the avenues. The blond felt relieved that they caught Hoseok so quickly but it was also suspicious. Why would he give himself up that fast? And why would he come back to the country where he was the most wanted criminal?

As they were getting closer to their destination, Taehyung tried to keep those thoughts out of his mind. Jeongguk and the others wouldn't put anyone in danger, so there was no reason to get anxious. Instead, he tried to focus on how he should get his revenge on his so-called employee for treating him like shit all the time when he used to work at the firm.

'He's inside. I'll keep watch to prevent anyone walking in and interrupting you.' Jimin said before he moved to the side to make way for the two assassins to get inside the bathroom where Namjoon was holding Hoseok.

'Alright. It won't take long.' Jeongguk said lowly.

The anger he felt coursing through his veins when he entered the room was something he hasn't felt in a while. He was so close to getting the answers he's been craving for the past few weeks. So close to finding his dad and finally having the proof he needed to confront Yoongi about all the lies he's been telling the younger.

Just by seeing Hoseok kneeled on the floor, his hands cuffed behind his back while Namjoon was holding the gun towards his head was enough to push Jeongguk to start asking the right questions and not beat around the bush.

'Where is Jeon Jonghyun?' Were the first words that left his mouth as soon as he got in front of the man.

'I don't know who that is.' The man on his knees muttered disgustingly, eyes still kept glued to the floor.

'Wrong.' Jeongguk said as he slapped the man's cheek, hard enough for his own hand to sting from the pain.

The loud noise brought the attention of both Taehyung and Namjoon to him while Hoseok was still glaring at the dirty white floor. Jeongguk didn't look back at his fellow assassins but he could feel their eyes digging holes into the back of his head. He paid them no mind as he continued with his interrogation.

'I'm going to ask you again. Where is Jeon Jonghyun?' The younger growled lowly.

Hoseok stayed quiet, pushing the tip of his tongue into his cheek to make the pain go away. He wouldn't cave so easily. Hoseok was strong enough to handle any type of torture that could come his way. The thought that Woo was going to free him was reason enough to endure anything that might be thrown his way. He would stay loyal till the time he'd die if it ever came to that.

'Alright... I see you refuse to answer when I ask nicely.' Jeongguk said, bawling his hand into a fist.

Luckily for Hoseok, Namjoon saw the younger's action just in time before he had the opportunity to swing for the other's face again and caught his wrist right on time, struggling to keep the younger's arm in place.

'May I talk to you in private for a second?' Namjoon narrowed his eyes at the younger.

'This isn't a good time, Namjoon. I'm in the middle of something here, can't you see?' Jeongguk said ironically, pulling his hand back forcefully to free himself.

'I can see that but humor me.' The older nudged Jeongguk to the other side of the room, sending a subtle signal for Taehyung to watch over Hoseok as the blond quickly took hold of his own pistol and pointed it at their target.

It felt weird to be left in charge on his first real mission. Weird in a good way, of course. There was a wild thought going on in his head, something telling him to start questioning the man himself and find answers for his own questions but he didn't want to go against the order Namjoon gave him. The man was old in the business and much wiser than Taehyung. He didn't want to undermine his superior so soon.

'What are you doing?' Namjoon whispered as soon as they got further away from Hoseok to prevent him from hearing what they were saying.

'I was interrogating a criminal. What are you doing?' Jeongguk narrowed his eyes, annoyed that he was interrupted.

'No. You were asking a question that has nothing to do with our mission. Why are you asking him about your dad?' Namjoon asked confused.

'Because he knows where he is. And if we find my dad, we find Woo as well.' Jeongguk sighed, frustrated that he was wasting time explaining himself to his colleague.

'What? How do you know this? Does Yoongi know?'

'I just do. And no, Yoongi doesn't know. And I'll like to keep it this way.' Jeongguk glared at the man in front of him, pushing at his side to get back to his job.

'Wait a second. Are you going behind your Master's back for some delusional thought that your father might still be alive? Jeongguk, you know he's dead. Stop bringing back the past because it will only hurt you.' Namjoon grabbed his wrist to push the younger back in front of him. 'Needless to say, that you're breaking the third tenant here.'

'I don't fucking care about those stupid tenants. Yoongi lied to me and I can't keep doing this anymore.' Jeongguk growled low enough for only Namjoon to hear.

'What are you talking about?' He asked confused, a frown on his face.

'Hoseok threatened to kill my father if we wouldn't stop looking for him. He clearly knows where he is and don't tell me he said that just to get to me because it doesn't make any sense. He could've used anything else. Yoongi knows my dad is alive and he kept it from me.' Jeongguk confessed.

'That doesn't sound like Yoongi. You know he considers you his own son. Why would he want to hurt you?'

'I don't know. I'm gonna make sure to ask that once I rescue my dad and confront him. Now, let me do my job and stay out of my way.' The younger moved past Namjoon to resume his interrogation.

It was safe to say that it didn't take long for Hoseok to confess everything he knew about Woo and everything related to the man. After he got a taste of the younger's strength, he decided that it was best to come clean and spend the rest of his life in arrest than to have an unscheduled plastic surgery without any anesthesia.

As much as he wanted to be a loyal employee, he never imagined the young assassin would've hurt him that badly. The worst he expected was that he would've been thrown into some dark room and left to starve until would've started to speak. He didn't know why he would expect the assassins to go easy on him but it was clearly a dumb expectation.

'You two make sure he's getting to the headquarters without any problems.' Jeongguk pointed towards Namjoon and Jimin before continuing, 'Let's go, Taehyung. Our flight leaves in twenty minutes.'

The blond nodded, silently following Jeongguk out of the bathroom and towards the gate. He was going to ask his questions once they were back at the headquarters in case his uncle wouldn't answer him. It was good to know he could bring the cowards out of people and make them speak the truth.

They were so close to stopping his uncle it started making the blond feel giddy with excitement. He planned on getting some answers once they would get in the same room with Woo. He needed to know why his own uncle chose to involve drugs in his business after everything that happened with Taehyung's mother. Only a few hours stood between them and the answers.
