Twenty-Eight

'So are you gonna tell us what the hell is going on with you?' Namjoon raised a brow after enough time went on in deadly silence, eyeing Jeongguk curiously. Everything was a blur ever since the airport incident with Hoseok.

Part of the silence was because of how awkward it felt to know that someone was actually listening to them being intimate and the other part was because the others felt awkward having to listen to them having sex.

'That's why I called you up here.' Jeongguk sighed, taking a more serious look.

'Oh, so you didn't want us to listen to you two?' Jimin rolled his eyes from his place on the sofa, next to Namjoon.

A short kick in the shin made Jimin grimace and stop talking nonsense when they had something more important to discuss.

'What? What's wrong with you?' Taehyung frowned from his seat at the end of the coffee table next to his boyfriend.

'Me?' Jimin shouted, offended.

'Yeah, you! What the hell has gotten into you? Since when do you care so much about their love-life?' Namjoon frowned, turning his whole body towards the younger.

'Nothing got into me. This is just wrong. Jeongguk, he is a criminal. How could you do this?' Jimin jumped from the couch, pointing an accusing finger towards his friend. 'I thought those rules meant something to you.'

'They do but you never cared that much about my partners in general. And since when do you know about what my rules are?' Jeongguk furrowed his brows questioningly. He never did tell Jimin about those rules. He said something vague to mess with the current hothead at the table but never got into any details.

'I figured it out. I'm not as stupid as you may think I am.' Jimin was fuming already, the hatred was starting to grow.

The sudden change in behavior made the others even more suspicious. Something was going on with Jimin and it wasn't his love for justice nor jealousy.

Everything felt oddly familiar. A strong feeling of deja-vu surrounded the youngest. There was only one way to prove his theory. If it was what he was thinking about, Yoongi would have to try harder.

'Jimin, may I speak to you in private, please?' Jeongguk ushered him in the next room, voice calm and steady.

The was a death glare thrown his way, but the youngest didn't even flinch. It was just Jimin. Yelling-while-pulling-on-weights Jimin. But most importantly, his friend. He wouldn't start a fight with him because of some stupid rules Jeongguk might've had, or Taehyung's status.

As soon as they entered the bedroom, Jeongguk made sure to close the door smoothly. He needed the conversation to be private to make sure the other wasn't going to say anything else that might hurt Taehyung's feelings.

'So? What's up?' Jeongguk said, casually.

'You can't continue this thing with Taehyung.' Jimin shook his head, disapprovingly. 'He's not right for you.'

'And how do you know that?' Jeongguk raised a brow, curious about his explanation.

'Well, he is a murderer for starters. He managed a company that killed thousands of people and there is no way in hell he didn't know what he was doing.' Jimin tried his best to convince the younger.

'Alright, let's say you're right about this. What about the other reason?'

'You can't be with me and that's that!' Jimin's patience was running low.

'Jimin-ssi, if you don't stop this nonsense, I'll shut you up myself.' Jeongguk threatened in a low voice, making the other shudder.

'You'll see it's not nonsense.' He shook his head, disappointed in the younger for not listening to his warnings. 'Youngy-hyung was right about you. Taehyung is not good for you.'

'What? Since when are you so close to Yoongi-hyung?' Jeongguk narrowed his eyes, questioningly.

'Since you stopped hanging out with me and got intimate with the enemy.'

'For the last time, Taehyung is not the enemy anymore. He's one of us.' The younger defended, taking a few steps towards the other. 'And Yoongi was the one to accept him into our brotherhood.'

'Yeah, it was a test to see if you'd fall for it. And you fucking did!' Jimin was getting angry. 'Can't you see that you broke our last tenant? Do not compromise our brotherhood... And you fucking did!'

'Okay, what did Yoongi tell you?' Jeongguk's patience was officially out of the door.

The only thing that was heard in the entire room was Jimin's loud huff as he turned away to get back to the others. He told his point of view and if the younger wasn't going to listen to it, that's too bad. Jimin would change his mind some other way. Yoongi will help him.

'Don't you turn your back on me!' Jeongguk growled as he grabbed Jimin's elbow, pulling harshly to stop the man from taking any more steps away from him. 'I said: tell me what Yoongi told you!'

Jimin just shrugged him off, continuing his walk and something has changed. Something that wasn't quite as visible at first. But when Jeongguk focused his mind on the person in front of him, he noticed that the other's aura started to glitch. It was battling between blue and red.

It only took a second before the young assassin had the man pinned to the door, his back pushed to the wooden surface. His suspicion was confirmed and it terrified him for what he had to do next.

'Speak. Now.' Jeongguk spat, voice low and demanding.

'Get off me, you traitor.' And a big mistake was made because Jimin had the audacity to punch the younger right in the ribs.

'Oh, you did not just do that...'

Jeongguk smiled bitterly, grabbing the other's wrist when he went in for another punch and with a swift move, he twirled Jimin around, face-first on the floor.

'Don't embarrass yourself. You know I'm stronger than you.' The younger said with a roll of his eyes.

'Fine.' Jimin huffed, struggling to get loose from Jeongguk's tight grip on his wrists.

'No, no. You'll be speaking to the floor and it will better be fast before I lose my patience.' He nudged the man, earning a groan.

Jimin couldn't hold it in any longer. He knew he couldn't compete with the young assassin because, despite his age, the man was incredibly strong. Jeongguk could prevent almost every move, making sure he would give it back twice as hard.

In just a few minutes, Jeongguk's suspicions were confirmed. Jimin was supposed to sabotage his relationship with Taehyung because Yoongi was afraid of losing the young assassin. His best man who wouldn't fail any mission that was thrown his way.

'You can't quit being an assassin, Jeongguk. This is your life now, not Taehyung.' Jimin struggled to say, trying to escape the heaviness on his back. 'And you can't share your life with anyone because that will make them a disadvantage for you.'

'That's not true.' Jeongguk kept shaking his head in denial. 'No one can force me to live this life. I can leave it behind any time I want.'

'Can you, though?' Jimin sighed, letting his body go limp. 'You've made a lot of enemies, Jeongguk, and they will come for you at some point in your life. Maybe they're just plotting the right move, or maybe they have forgotten about you. Can you take those chances?'

'I will take them and there is nothing you can do to stop me. You either help me or not.' The younger said sternly, nudging the other's wrists as he tightened the grip.

'Fine.' Jimin sighed, tired already from struggling to fight Jeongguk off of him. 'But Yoongi won't let you leave so easily...'

'We'll see about that.' Jeongguk finally stood up, taking Jimin's hand to help him get up. 'Now, if you'll let me share my news to all of you, maybe you'll understand what I am talking about.' He scolded with a roll of his eyes as they headed for the door to get back to the others.

Jeongguk tried his best to explain everything that has been going on ever since Taehyung made his majestic appearance. The flashbacks he's been having about his parents that happened coincidentally when he met Taehyung and disappeared right after Yoongi got a hold on the artifact that former CEO's employee has stolen from God knows where.

He also told them about the phone he found in their Master's quarters which contained exchanged messages with someone who claimed to be his mother. He tried to think of the possibility of his mother still being alive but the answer to that question would have to wait until he was going to confront Yoongi.

His father's appearance was what seemed to shock everyone in the room, apart from Taehyung who was just sitting on his pillow quietly, at the end of the table.

'Why would the Master do something like this?' Namjoon furrowed his brows, bewildered by the new information.

'That's what I need to find out.' Jeongguk sighed. 'But apparently, it was to make me a strong assassin. He used my suffering as motivation.' He glared at Jimin, nostrils flaring from anger.

'That's cruel... I never thought Yoongi would do something like this.' Namjoon shook his head, visibly disappointed by the news. 'So what do you propose we do?'

'We?' Jimin questioned, a little surprised by the sudden intervention. 'I'm not gonna plot against Yoongi hyung!'

The three men turned their heads towards the blond's direction almost simultaneously. It was at the moment that Jimin realized he screwed up by admitting he wouldn't betray their Master even though he knew exactly what he did to the youngest member of their order.

If he would have kept his mouth shut, maybe he wouldn't be left by himself, locked up in the love bird's bedroom to think about his life choices, as Taehyung cockily put it before they all left to confront the boss.

The tied were tight around his wrists and the chair he was sitting on was pretty uncomfortable. He knew he had to loosen the ties enough for him to slip out a hand to reach the phone to give Yoongi a heads up but it was quite difficult.

Jeongguk knew how to do the perfect knots. Jimin remembers that the younger has shown his technique before but he was too busy daydreaming about a certain hyung. A hyung that was getting in trouble any minute now and Jimin had to find a way to get loose so he could prevent any misfortunate event.

'Come in, Jeongguk-ssi.' Yoongi ushered the young man to enter the quarters. 'You may begin your debriefing.'

The older took his place at the desk, crossing his arms as he watcher Jeongguk intently. It made the younger nervous for some reason as if Yoongi knew that Jeongguk did something wrong and was waiting for a confession.

'The mission was successful, as you wished, Master.' Jeongguk looked at the ground, trying to gather the strength he needed to confront him.

'Very well, my student. Anything else I should know?' Yoongi raised a brow, daring the young man to speak.

'There is one matter I want to speak with you about...' The younger started, waiting for a sign to continue.

'Speak your mind, then.' He said with a gesture of his hand.

'While I was hunting down Mr. Woo, I found someone who made me question everything I've done for the past ten years.' Jeongguk took a few steps forward, towards the desk.

'And who might that be?' Yoongi asked, feigning boredom.

'My father.' Jeongguk met his eyes and there was only fury written in them, pupils dilated and teeth clenching, trying his best to stay calm for the moment.

'That is impossible, Jeongguk-ssi. You know your father is dead.' Yoongi frowned.

'Is he, though?'
