Thirty

Six Months Later

Taehyung was on the balcony of the headquarters, looking over the training course as he supervised a couple of novices doing numerous exercises with their assigned assassins. He smiled content at how everything turned out.

There were pretty pink leaves dancing in the soothing spring air. Everything was perfect. Jeongguk's parents found each other again and resumed their marriage, being just as in love as they were the first day they decided to get married.

And so it blossomed, even more, the relationship between Taehyung and Jeongguk. They moved to Japan after Jeongguk decided to expand their business and create another headquarter the two could manage.

'Babe, mom and dad are gonna be here in thirty minutes.' There was a voice calling out from the office.

'Already?! But I didn't have time to shower and get ready, yet.' Taehyung rushed through the double glass doors, almost getting tangled in the drapes.

'Easy, Tae.' Jeongguk giggled at the other's clumsiness. 'There's still time. They just landed.' He took his lover's hand and escorted him to their quarter.

The whole ride in the elevator, Taehyung couldn't stop stomping his foot, impatient to get to their penthouse. There were so many things the blond wanted to do for his parents-in-law, as he wanted to call them.

When they told Jeongguk's parents about their relationship, Yuji and Jonghyun were surprised at first but the surprise soon turned into relief. The young couple appreciated the fact that they felt comfortable enough to tell them the truth and they were happy for Jeongguk; that he found someone who would share his life with him, knowing the truth.

Now, to get back to the reason as to why Taehyung was rushing to their penthouse. He wanted to have a nice fancy dinner with his in-laws because it has been too long since they last did it and Taehyung wanted to always leave a nice impression whenever they get together.

'Why does it take so long to get to our floor?' Taehyung whined, turning to pout at his boyfriend.

'The question is: why are you so restless to get everything done so perfectly?' The younger frowned as he tried to muffle a giggle because his boyfriend was too cute to handle sometimes.

'Because! I want them to have a nice impression of me.'

'They already do, baby. You don't have to keep trying to impress them. They love you almost as much as I do.' Jeongguk cupped his cheek and leaned in to press a soft peck on his forehead just as the elevator doors opened.

Jeongguk didn't even get to enjoy the kiss when the other sprung through the opened doors and went straight for their apartment. The young man rolled his eyes, a little frustrated that his lover was so stressed out over a simple visit.

' We're so happy to see you, Mss. and Mr. Jeon.' Taehyung gave them his sweetest smile as they all took a sip of wine.

'Please, call us by our first name, Taehyungie.' Yuji giggled at the formalness.

There was a sharp pinch on Jeongguk's right leg and he looked over to see his boyfriend almost crying from joy. The whole situation made him burst out laughing because he has never seen anyone being so happy over their in-laws.

The diner turned out to be the greatest any of them has had in quite a while. They were already trying out the deserts when Jeongguk quietly stood up from his place, excusing himself as he started making his way into their bedroom.

The chocolate lava cake was delicious, judging by the way Taehyung was almost licking the plate clean. He could've gone for another slice but the moment got interrupted when his lover came back into the room, clearing his throat loudly to get everyone's attention.

'Everyone, may I have your attention, please?' Jeongguk fixed the cuffs of his shirt in nervousness.

It was time. He has been having these feelings for a long time, now, and they just seem to grow stronger and stronger with each day. It was confirmed over and over with each painful event in the past year, especially thinking about how roughly it all started.

From a prisoner to his lover, helping him find his parents and fight off the big boss of assassins, as well as Taehyung's uncle. The blond proved himself in front of Jeongguk every time, he passed the test without any problem, even surprising the younger with some of his approaches.

'I'm so happy you guys are here as well.' He waved at his parents to get their attention. 'This is a special moment and I want you to be a part of it.'

The younger reached for the back pocket of his pants and brought out a small velvet box. He turned toward his boyfriend to see him ogling the object with big eyes, the "o" shape his mouth adopted almost made it comical for the younger but he had to stay serious.

As Jeongguk went down on one knee, Taehyung and everyone in the room sighed adoringly at the scene. A sweet smile made its way on the younger's face as he swallowed the knot in his throat. He was starting to get nervous and he wanted to just ask the big question already but he knew he had to make it romantic for his lover.

'Baby, I know how much you want a family and you can't even imagine how much I love that about you. I want to give you the world if I could ever be able to do it, but for starters, I want to give you the opportunity to start a family with me. I know it's early in our relationship but I love you so much, Taehyung and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. So... will you marry me?' He tried to stay calm and not crack due to the intense emotions he felt but he made it.

There were tears welling up in the other's eyes. He was so taken by surprise that he couldn't even make out the words to give the other an answer. He never expected Jeongguk to pop the question so quickly, based on previous experiences.

'Uhm, Yes! Of course, I'll say yes!' Taehyung squealed as he jumped up from his chair and leaped into his lover's, Uhm-Uhm, fiance's arms.

It brought joy to Taehyung seeing his parents-in-law so overwhelmed with happiness for the two that Yuji even took a napkin to wipe out the tears before they would ruin her makeup.

The wedding turned out to be a small gathering of all the people dear to them who actually love the couple. The older didn't want anyone who would be a threat to their ceremony. God forbid someone ruins it with some stupid interjection.

There weren't so many preparations done because they didn't think it was necessary. As long as they have each other everything would be all right. It may sound cheesy but it was the truth.

Taehyung wore a beautiful white tux, baby blue bow tie sitting snuggly around his neck. It was his something blue, burrowed from his now good friend, Jimin.

And Jeongguk, he was the perfect gentleman. He managed to rip out a sigh from his lover when their eyes met in front of the priest, hands clasping together reassuringly because they were both a wreck of emotions.

They managed to find the most beautiful place in Japan to make the ceremony even more memorable. They managed to get everyone to Okayama where the bioluminescent rocks were lighting up the beach after sunset in a beautiful electric blue light. It was perfect.

'I can't believe we got to witness such a beautiful wedding.' Namjoon smiled content as he took Seokjin's hand into his own.

'Is that your way of saying you're thinking of proposing?' Seokjin rolled his eyes, letting out a small giggle.

The honeymoon phase lasted longer than the couple predicted because they couldn't get enough of the happiness it surrounded the both of them alone in a foreign country, visiting everything and having the best time they could possibly have alone.

Every worry disappeared when each of them pronounced the word 'husband' in each sentence. They couldn't get enough of it. Especially since they were honeymooning in America. New York to be more precise.

'Can you believe it we made it this far? I never imagined you would propose to me.' Taehyung giggled, caressing his husband's hand as they lied in bed.

'I knew you were the one I wanted to spend my life with the minute I punched you in the nose.' Jeongguk shrugged, voice deep and serious.

'Excuse me? Is that supposed to be romantic?' Taehyung frowned, pouting for effect and waiting for the other to do something about that pout.

'Well, you were adorable how you kept complaining about a little nose pain.' And now the younger was laughing as he kept teasing the man.

'I kinda don't want to return to Seoul...' Taehyung said after a moment of silence as he played with the sheets between his fingers.

'And where do you want to go?' Jeongguk raised a brow, intrigued.

'Japan would be nice to move out to... You know how much I love cherry blossoms.'

'There might be something I could do about it.' Jeongguk smirked as he dived to attack Taehyung with kisses.

The time flew by quickly in the next couple of months as they tried to make the new land that they bought in Tokyo feel as homey as they could. There were training exercises for miles away, built carefully for every rank of assassins. Some of the training exercises were a bit difficult for Jeongguk himself but he was proud.

The headquarters were as big as a castle, resembling a beehive. Every room had its own bathroom and kitchen for the ones who felt the need to be independent. The canteen was situated in the penthouse, overseeing the whole court from the terrace.

The married couple had their own side of the quarters, decorated by Taehyung himself. The main theme was baby pink since his favorite thing about Japan was the cherry blossoms. The furniture was all Ikea which proved to be a challenge for the couple.

'You could've made me duel my worst enemy and it wouldn't have been as difficult as assembling these pieces of shit!' Jeongguk kicked the box in frustration.

'It's not that bad..' Taehyung said confused as to why his coffee table had the shape of a triangle when it clearly looked rectangular in the scheme.

'I'm two seconds away from summoning the assassins for help.' Jeongguk froze in his place, contemplating the decision.

'Jeongguk...' Taehyung rolled his eyes as he urged the other to continue building the library.

It took them a couple of weeks to finish arranging the whole quarter but it was worth it. It was their dream home, just like the couple imagined it would turn out to be.

While Taehyung and Jeongguk continued their lives in Japan, the others decided to remain in Seoul, trying their best to keep the crimes at bay.

It all felt surreal most of the time, accomplishing so many things so quickly but they couldn't feel more proud of their work.

'I'm so happy we moved here, Jeongguk.' Taehyung sighed as he leaned his head on the younger's shoulder. They were watching over the field as their novices were doing their best in training.

The sun was almost down, turning the sky in a pretty pastel orange. There was a light breeze messing his hair a little but it was pleasant; made his skin rise.

'I'm so happy I have you by my side.' Jeongguk muttered as he turned around, cupping the other's face to place a soft kiss on the plump, pouty lips.
