Learning Time
"Nothing is true, everything is permitted." These words continued to course around in his head as he parkoured his way back up to his room. How long had it been since he came here, he wondered as he used his hidden blade to unlock the window to his room.
His talk with Cinder earlier did help provide some useful insight into the philosophy behind the Brotherhood's creed with her exact words being, "The Creed has many meanings behind it, all of them true but it's up to you to decide what that Creed means to yourself." He smiled at the concept, funny how not long ago he thought of the creed in manner similar to guidelines but upon repeated talks with Cinder, his thoughts on the matter had changed.
It wasn't until Desmond showed him just what happened when freedom is removed that he finally began to realise the truth. "Freedom is a right of all living things and it should not be taken lightly." Desmond had warned when he showed Jaune just how badly the Faunus were treated in the dust mining camps.
He sighed as he shook himself from the memory that was forever seared into his brain, 'What is peace if not something everyone yearns for?' He thought to himself as he stripped off his clothes, removing his weapons as well, pausing only for a moment to examine them for any sign of damage.
Once he was finished, Jaune threw on a plain set of pure black pajamas and walked over to his desk where he pulled out a small piece of paper, losing his train off thought in the process, on that paper was a set of notes detail some changes he wanted done to his Hidden Blade. He smiled, recalling how Desmond had mentioned that Bleiss was the resident blacksmith of the Assassin's and could basically be considered the Leonardo Da Vinci of Remnant with how many improvements she's made to both the weapons, tools and items wielded by the Assassin's.
In fact, Bleiss had often made improvements to the vehicles and the base itself which in turn allowed it to run off of electricity which without the need of any dust whatsoever, same goes for the vehicles as well but he did think it was a bit cheap because Bleiss did use the Apple of Eden to help herself come up with said improvements. Jaune frowned as he recalled what Desmond had said about the pieces of Eden, "The pieces of Eden aren't some kind of toy people can flaunt around with." He'd warned them, "Power attracts attention and the pieces of Eden are exactly that - power and in the wrong hands, people can be driven insane by that power and if the wielder isn't careful, they to will be consumed by it's power and will inevitably die."
Of course immediate after this, the group had felt themselves being called by the pieces. Bleiss was drawn to the apple of Eden, Cinder was drawn to a bow called Petomai, Mercury found himself being drawn to a short blade called Edge of Time, Emerald found herself trident called Poseidon's Trident, Jaune found himself being drawn to a sword called Chrysaor, Nora was drawn to a hammer called Mjolnir, Ren found a twin set of dagger dubbed Arachne's Stingers, Illa had found herself being drawn to a battle axe know as Minotaur's Labrys, and Fiona ended up with the atgeir called Bálhrafn Atgeir.
What was shocking was that the pieces of Eden seemed to meld with their aura, boosting it beyond its normal strength and enhanced their semblances. When Desmond learned about what they did, he wasn't very happy at first but relented with him stating that he could never fully guard all the lives of Eden and as such charged each of them with the mission to protect their pieces with their life.
That was over a three months ago and true to their word, the group kept their pieces safe and secure. Shortly after this, the group ended up learning that the Precursor forge was emitting a strange signal that not only helped permanently repel the Grimm but it also doubled as a sort of animus, letting everyone in its area live the life of the Assassin's of Earth, how and why this is happening is still unknown but Bleiss promised that she'd eventually get to the bottom of it but until then everyone got to experience the lives of important Assassins with Jaune, himself, having a strong affinity for three assassin's in particular, them being: Ezio Auditore, Edward Kenway and Connor Kenway which coupled with the Bleeding Effect, helped him speed through his training at a much faster pace.
Of course this wasn't without its side effects, as Jaune ended up taken some mannerisms from all three of them and not only that but he ended up going to Bleiss and asking her to craft a special Assassin's armour for him called the Drachen Armour. Of course, Jaune wasn't the only one affected because both Cinder and Mercury ended up being influenced by the Edo-Japan era assassin's outfits with Mercury donning a face mask modelled after a gasmask, Emerald found herself wearing a variant of the Hidden Ones outfits worn during the Ptolemaic period of Egypt while the others weren't as affected but it did lead to some sudden relationships forming mostly between Ren and Nora as well as Mercury with Bleiss.
Stretching his muscles, Jaune turned off the lights in his room and began making his way over to his bed, tiredness finally begging to settle in. As he pulled the sheets over his head, one last thought occured to him, "Isn't the entrance exam for Beacon less then two months away now?' He thought as his mind finally shut down and the bleeding effect began, causing him to take on the of Altaír, the very first assassin that Desmond has to synchronize with in order to learn about the Apple of Eden and who subsequently helped him unlock eagle vision which allowed him to detect who was friend or foe.
_______________________________________________
First things first, the Assassin's bases that we see in the AC games excluding Rogue's will appear in this game. Second, outfits for the characters are as follows, Mercury Black is wearing Smokes outfit from MK1, Jaune will be wearing the Drachen Armour seen in AC: Brotherhood as well as Ezio's main outfit from that game as his regular clothing alongside the New York City outfit from AC3, Emerald will be wearing Amunet's Hidden Ones Outfit seen in the Hidden Ones DLC of Origins, Cinder is wearing a red version of Naoe's outfit seen in AC: Shadows. Ren wears Basim's assassins outfits, Nora wears a version of Thors armour seen in AC:Valhalla, Ilia wears Avaline's main outfit and Fiona has Evie Frye's outfit seen in AC Syndicate. Desmond is basically wearing the same outfit he wore in the AC games expect he also has the inverted version from AC: Revelations, he's also grown some facial hair and his outfit is armoured in a similar way to Ezio's outfits from AC 2 and Brotherhood.
Yes, I know I went a bit off track when I wrote this chapter but all in all, I think I did some good story building.
See you guys next time!
