|Tolerate| - Connor and Haytham

Connor x Reader x Haytham
-

"You two have been at it for over an hour now. Give it a break." You groan, slapping a hand to your forehead.

You thought it would be a good idea to help Connor and Haytham become less snappy with each other. Connor was stressed over Charles Lee, Haytham was just stubborn and refused to help his son, thus ending in a huge fight.

Bringing them in the a tavern might help. That's what you thought. Now the two cry babies are sitting on each side of you at a bar, eyes shooting blazing fire. You slam your forehead down on the bar, giving up on trying to help them.

"If you would just tell me-"

"For the last time, I'm not telling you where he went. Get over it, Connor."

You lift your head back up only to slam it back down, your eardrums about to explode. You probably would've preferred that, to be honest. You hit your head on the counter multiple times, large clanks following after.

"I'm leaving." You stand up, your bar stool screeching across the floor.

You don't turn back to give a goodbye to the two, heading straight for the door without another word. The two watch your back, sighing in unison as you walk out of the tavern. You stop in your tracks, turning your head back to see Connor glaring at Haytham and Haytham looking displeased.

"When you two stop acting like children, you know where to find me." You shout over all of the other voices.

They don't hear you. Your voice mixed in with the already booming voices and loud noises like clashing mugs or laughing. With sad eyes, you give up and shut the door, knowing you had failed on trying to bring peace between the two.

-

You sneak on the rooftops of Boston, eyes scanning over the people and redcoats that were in their own little world. You crouch down, peering other the edge of the house to see two guards whispering to each other. With suspicious eyes, one of them starts to walk off, his body trembling slightly. The other guard walks the other direction, looking like nothing had happened.

You smile, knowing you were about to get some kind of information. Maybe it was about Charles Lee, maybe it was about the Templar you were after, Thomas Hickey. He had killed your parents without any mercy, and for that you wanted revenge. You asked Haytham to where he was, but all you got was warm eyes but sharp words in return. Connor likes to press on, you don't.

You quickly and quietly make your way down from the rooftop, trying not to make any noise to attract any other guards. As you start running after the suspicious looking redcoat, the back of your hood is grabbed and you're yanked into a small pathway between two buildings.

"Wha-? Guys, I almost had him!" You whisper shout at the two Kenways, fuming.

Connor tilts his head like a lost puppy, Haytham sighing at his sons stupidity. You lean your back against the brick wall, quirking a brow.

"You two made up yet?" You blink innocently.

"Hardly. If by making up you mean: 'tolerating' each other, then yes. I suppose so." Haytham crosses his arms behind his back, looking down at you with a smirk.

"You two could make up and kiss, you know." You laugh at Connor's bitter expression.

"No thank you. I'm already related to him. I do not need to be any closer." Connor hisses, his deep and dark tone making you freeze up.

"Oh, admit it son. You adore me." Haytham pats his sons back harshly.

With pink tinted cheeks, you give a shrug of your shoulders, a sheepish smile clawing up your lips.

"There is always... worse things." You wiggle your eyebrows, bursting into laughter afterwards.

Haytham and Connor look to each other, immediately catching your drift. The two cringe before stepping away from each other, looking like they had seen a ghost. You awe, grabbing the fabric on both of their chests and pulling them in for a group hug. You hug the both of them, feeling happy that you at least got them to stop arguing all the time.

"Okay okay," you pull away from the much needed hug, backing away.

"I really need to catch up with that redcoat." You wave, spinning around and sprinting off, ready to collect your information.

Connor crosses his arms, looking over to Haytham that had a mischievous glint in his steel blue eyes that you adored so much. Haytham starts to run after you, not bothering to fill Connor in. Connor runs after Haytham, an irritated look on his face.

"Where are you going?" He catches up to his fathers sprinting side.

"To get (Y/n), of course. Don't be stupid, Connor."

"I'm not the stupid one here, father."
