CHLOE STEPPED INTO the bar, her hood up to the point of blocking her upper facial features. She spotted Sam and Steve sitting at the bar with a blonde woman speaking next to them. The Assassin walked up to the left of the Falcon, taking advantage of the temporary distraction.
"―Most of it's noise, except for this." The woman passed Steve a file as Chloe scanned the room with utmost caution. "My boss expects a briefing pretty much now, so that's all the head start you're gonna get."
Steve took the file. "Thank you."
"You're gonna have to hurry," she continued. "We have orders to shoot on sight."
The woman left as Chloe glanced at the file. "Who's she?"
Steve's eyes dropped to the table as Same jumped in surprise. "God, kid. How do you do that?"
Chloe smirked, her mouth the only feature prodding eyes can see. Glancing around the room once more, her eyes glowed a golden hue to figure out the safety of the bar. "So, I'm here. Why?"
Steve glanced at the young adult. "We could use someone with your talents and connections. I'm using that favor you owe me."
"I'm surprised Cap hasn't asked you to join the Avengers yet," Sam stated.
Chloe shrugged, her eyes cold and calculating. "Would if I could, but I can't."
"How's your arm? Can you fight?"
The Assassin looked at the Captain. "Well, seeing as I nearly died in a cave a couple months ago, I'd say I'm good. Just gotta make sure I don't overdo it; Doctor's orders."
Steve nodded and Sam laughed. "Dying in a cave, why am I not surprised?"

"Why are we here?"
Chloe walked into the rustic apartment behind Steve, her eyes scanning for possible threats. Her bow and quiver, along with her sword and electric blade, were equipped with the young Assassin.
Steve took a book off of the refrigerator as Chloe glanced out of the dusty window. Her bow was loaded with her signature red arrow in case of an upcoming fight, one she insisted would take place. Her mind was on high alert and filled with questions. Where was Barnes?
"Heads up, Cap," Sam spoke through coms. "German special forces approaching from the south."
"Understood," Steve spoke, his head not lifting from the book.
Chloe, sensing another presence, whipped around and pointed her arrow at Barnes. "Steve."
Rogers turned around and saw Bucky with his hands up in a surrendering motion. His hand was out to the side and gestured to Chloe. "Frye, stand down."
Chloe, hesitating, unloaded the bow and stuck the arrow back into the quiver, her eyes not leaving Bucky's figure. Her eyes narrowed in suspicion and took on the golden hue. A blue surrounded her vision and, although Bucky held a steady blue, she was still wary of his alter ego.
"Do you know me?" Steve asked.
Bucky hesitated, glancing at the Assassin. "You're Steve. I read about you in a museum."
Sam's voice filled Chloe's ear. "They've set the perimeter."
"I know you're nervous, and you have plenty reason to be," Cap spoke, setting down the journal and walking to the man. Chloe's hand hovered over her arrows. "But you're lying."
"I wasn't in Vienna, I don't do that anymore."
"They're entering the building."
"Well, the people who think you did are coming here now, and they're not planning on taking you alive," Steve spoke. Chloe stepped between the two men and walked over to the door, pressing her ear to the wooden surface. Hearing a distinct rush of footsteps, she nodded at Steve and loaded an arrow.
"That's smart. Good strategy."
Chloe scoffed, glancing at Barnes. "Really? Going to give up just like that?"
"They're on the roof. I'm compromised."
"So will we if we don't all get the hell out of here," Chloe muttered, taking a few steps back from the door.
"This doesn't have to end in a fight, Buck." Steve tried.
Bucky sighed. "It always ends in a fight."
"Five seconds."
Steve glanced at Chloe. "You pulled me from the river, why?"
He looked at Steve and glanced at Chloe, who was pointing an explosive arrow at the door. He pulled his glove off of his metal hand. "I don't know."
"Three seconds."
"Yes, you do."
"Breach! Breach! Breach!" Sam yelled.
A smoke grenade broke through the window and Steve hit it away with his shield. Bucky kicked another flash grenade to Steve, who trapped it under his weapon. A loud banging came from the door as Chloe tightened her jaw. They're trying to break in.
Bucky shoved the Frye to the ground an picked up his mattress, using it as a barrier as another grenade came flying in. The man flipped a table over Chloe's head in the general direction of the door. Two soldiers came crashing in through the windows.
As the two older men took care of them, and the soldiers through the back door, Chloe began fighting the other German soldiers. She launched the explosive arrow in the direction of the window in order to distract the soldiers.
Using the bow as a baton, she swiped the men from their feet and punched him in the face, knocking him out cold. She whipped out her sword and sliced a few men's kneecaps and pushed it through a man's shoulder.
She turned around and pointed her sword at Bucky who rose to his feet. She sighed and lowered the weapon. The sound of a gun drew her away from the man and to the door. She slung the sword into her quiver and loaded another arrow, pointing it at the door.
Chloe and Bucky made eye contact as he placed his right hand on her shoulder. Her eyes snapped to his as he gave her a distinct nod. Blinking, the young woman stepped back and let Buck stand in between her and the door.
Barnes punched through the door and Chloe followed, her hood securely up and blocking her features. She launched a flurry of arrows down the staircase. A man broke through the ceiling window firing a gun, and Bucky stood over a crouched Chloe as if to protect her from the bullets.
Chloe stood after the soldier was knocked down and began releasing a launch of attacks using her red sword, trying to save her arrows. Bucky worked his way down the staircase and Chloe followed, taking care of the soldiers he left behind.
She plunged an arrow into the thigh of a German soldier and elbowed a guy in his nose, effectively knocking him down. She pointed a flash arrow down the staircase, and as she fired it, a soldier who managed to get past Barnes pushed her back onto the stairs. She grunted, using her electric blade to knock the man out.
He was pulled from the top of her and kicked down a flight of stairs by James. She stood up cautiously, checking to feel any broken bones. After finding none, she saw Steve emerge from the apartment, grab a man's communicator, and jump to the platform where Chloe was standing.
The three worked together, with Bucky and Steve punching guys and Chloe impaling the others with an arrow, a sword, or shocking them with her blade. Chloe shot a man's leg and Bucky punched him over the railing.
Steve caught him, sighing at the two. "Come on, guys."
Bucky elbowed a guy and Chloe shrugged, glancing down the flight of stairs. Bucky used the railing to escape down to the floor below as Steve and Chloe took care of the rest of the soldiers. She drew an arrow and shot the shoulder of a soldier attacking Bucky as Steve launched his shield at him. The three exchanged glances as Bucky swung himself over the railing down to the floors below.
Chloe sighed and looked at Steve, wincing at the bruise she felt forming on her ribs. "Steve, I'm running out of arrows."
He looked at her and down the flight of stairs to see Bucky running through a doorway. He turned to her with a serious expression. "If you run out, if you start to get tired or hurt, or if it's to the point where you can't help anymore, I want you to leave."
Chloe sighed. "You know I can't do that―"
"―Keeping your secret matters more than helping me get him, Chloe. I want you to leave if you think it'll expose your organization, that's an order."
She sighed and nodded. Digging through her pocket, she gave a spare tracker Alex gave her earlier. "Keep this on your person at all times, I'll find you guys when I can. Got it?"
He nodded, and the girl took off through a door. She glanced behind to Steve and gave him a nod before escaping through the fire exit. She saw a figure run up behind Bucky in a black suit. Shooting arrows from behind the wall, she ducked to avoid discovery and heard a spark fly out of the arrow long enough for Bucky to distract the suited person, or at least she hoped.
Her coms was still secured in her ear as she ran down the exit. Hearing Steve, she paused for a moment. "Sam, southwest rooftop."
"Who the hell's the other guy?"
"About to find out."
A helicopter emerged from behind the buildings, making Chloe grunt in annoyance. Arming herself with an arrow, she shot it in the direction of the vehicle and watched as it embedded itself in between the panels. She vaguely saw the prongs sink into the metal, making the controls go haywire.
It didn't help when Sam kicked the tail.
She ran down the fire escape and kept an eye on the streets below, watching the chase from a distance.
She stopped at the edge of a building when she saw Bucky and his chaser leap into traffic, with Steve and Sam following behind. She ran down the path, following the sound of sirens and crashes from below. Despite the situation, she couldn't help but smile slightly.
They really couldn't be discreet, could they?
Hearing a loud explosion, Chloe stopped and leaned over the concrete railing, seeing the chaser finally catch up to Bucky. Not wanting to give away her situation, she crouched down just enough to see the others, but not enough for the others to see her.
Steve began running after them with a flipping car in tow. He tackled Bucky's assailant, the figure skidding to a stop with his metal claws. She saw cop cars roll in and Rhodey land before them.
Sighing, she caught the eyes of Steve. Nodding to him, she blended into the crowds forming, escaping the prying eyes of the people below.

GUESS WHO'S BACK?
idk how long this section will be. just depends how much free writing I'm willing to write.
also heyyyyyyyyyy we've made it to the main enemies now! I don't know if I'm going to be able to use the main antagonists from Aveline's and Shao's games, but we'll see.
hope you enjoyed!
update: instead of doing the Templars (I'm probably gonna do that later), I have decided to do the supporting characters? Would that be what you call them? I'm just gonna do the sassy assassin counterparts.
