CHLOE JUMPED OUT of the truck in her red and green uniform, scanning the area with resourceful eyes. Her job was simple, scout the area and make sure the Templar's backup does not do their job.
She tapped the communications device in her ear and glanced at the retreating pickup truck. "Anyone hear me?"
"Loud and clear," Rebecca confirmed. "Okay, we're going to wait by the assumed entrance while you scout the area for potential backup. Got it?"
Chloe nodded to herself. "Understood. Don't get caught."
"Same for you. Good luck."
Avoiding the security cameras in the surprisingly quiet area, the Assassin scaled the Palace with surprising ease. She observed the surrounding streets below her and spotted the backup. Disguised in a white delivery truck, Chloe saw a red cross strapped to the arms of the soldiers before the Palace.
The Assassin got to work. Knives were thrown, arrows were shot, and electricity was forced through the systems of the enemies. She decided that stealth was the way to approach the situation; she didn't need unwanted attention.
Chloe approached the side of the truck, her boots silent against the solid concrete. She turned her head slightly towards the opening, glancing inside to see three men, all wearing masks and armor.
Pulling a smoke grenade out of her pocket, the Frye pulled the ring and tossed the item into the compacted truck. She heard the men's shouts of alarm and pulled out her bow. Jumping into the vehicle, Chloe tripped the nearest soldier, shoving a knife into his heart. She repeated the process to the second soldier and shot an arrow at the third.
"That's it!" she heard Shaun say through comms. "It's under the palace!"
"Time to go!"
Chloe muttered, pressing the device to her ear. "I'll meet you all at the rendezvous point."

The four stood in the basement-like area, looking before them as the Templars grabbed the Shroud. Chloe's jaw clenched, her fist tightening around her already loaded bow.
"Sigma Team beat us here," Rebecca whispered. "We're too late!"
"What do we do?" Galina questioned.
Chloe sighed. "The only thing we can do."
She heard Shaun sigh. "Killing really is the least productive way to achieve our goals. Kill them all."
Chloe smirked as Rebecca pulled out a smoke grenade. The older female threw the weapon into the eyes of the Templar goons.
"Contact!"
"Cover me! That skinny piece of shit tried to murder me, Berg, I want him to bleed!"
Chloe snuck out from behind the pillars and secured the hood over her head, peeking out from behind the concrete.
The Assassin shot an arrow into the smoke-clouded room, hoping she hit someone. Emerging from the shadows, the young woman smirked in satisfaction at the sight of her red arrow in the leg of Agent de Costa.
Seeing Galina struggle, the Frye had no time to celebrate and decided to tag-team Berg. The older man had Galina's arm in an awkward position when she intervened.
"Only the mission matters!" he yelled.
Shooting an arrow through his shoulder, Chloe heard the Templar hiss before facing the girl. The two began fighting when she heard Rebecca yell Shaun's name and a gunshot go off, but she didn't allow herself to become distracted.
Berg's fist landed a punch on her right eyebrow when she knocked the feet from under him, leaving Galina to deliver the deadly blow.
"Galina, Chloe, we need an exit!"
Chloe took in the feeble state of Rebecca and was about to respond before gunshots began firing once more. She scrambled behind the pillar in front of an injured Rebecca, shooting silent arrows into the fog.
"Secure the vault! All targets are righteous!"
"We need to go! NOW!" Shaun yelled.
Galina nodded. "Understood!"
Chloe and the older woman both launched smoke grenades into the vault, creating a shield of fog to surround them. Galina ran to eliminate the targets as Chloe slid to the side of Shaun and Rebecca, pulling out a cloth to apply Rebecca's wound. She ignored the blood seeping out of her eyebrow for the sake of her sister-like friend. No one was dying on her watch.
"The... Shroud..." Rebecca said.
Chloe chuckled dryly, a panicked look on her face, as Shaun spoke. "Forget the bloody Shroud, stay with me, Becs! Please!"
The youngest looked up to see Galina nod at the three of them. "We go!"

Chloe sat in the hospital ward at the base, getting her head looked at for what felt like the millionth time. The incident at the Buckingham Palace was in the past, specifically four or five weeks ago. Alex sat next to the girl in a sweatshirt and shorts who looked like hell, and Chloe felt that way.
Not only was she physically exhausted, but mentally, too. The Doctor treating her gave her a smile. "Thankfully, you have no serious injuries anymore, but you still have a minor concussion, so I'd take it easy for a while. Drink water, get some sleep, and limit your screen time."
Chloe smiled tightly. "Thanks, Doc."
The Doctor nodded and left the room, leaving the two cousins in peace.
The young Assassin still felt bad. Rebecca was still recovering from surgery, and even though she knew her injury wasn't her fault, that didn't stop her from worrying.
Alex, taking note of the worried look on his cousin's face, grabbed the remote from a nearby coffee table. "Hey, maybe some good 'ole TV will cheer you up."
The Frye raised an eyebrow. "Doc said to limit screen time. Did you not hear him?"
Alex shrugged. "He said limit screen time, not cancel screen time. What's a little TV?"
Chloe sighed as the screen flickered on, but what they saw was not the best.
In front of them, a news station covering a bombing in Vienna. Her eyes widened as Bucky Barnes' face was plastered on the screen.
"Ah, hell." Chloe breathed. She jumped, a buzzing sound carrying from her pocket.
She warily pulled out the flashing flip phone, observing the bright screen light up. Pulling it open, Chloe reluctantly answered. "Hello?"
"Hello?" a voice came through, Steve's. "Chloe, you there?"
She swallowed. "Yeah, I'm here."
She heard him sigh. "Have you seen or heard the news?"
"Yeah," she sighed. "Why?"
"Look, I hate to do this to you, but we need you to come in."
Chloe hesitated, glancing at Alex who held an encouraging smile on his face. They exchanged a look, one of determination and understanding.
"Chloe? You still there?"
"Yeah," the Assassin said. She stood from the bed, gesturing for Alex to follow. "Yeah, I'm here. What do you need?"
The two spoke for a little longer before Chloe hung up. She walked into the shared office she had with her cousin, putting in the longitude and latitude Steve had sent her.
Alex peered over her shoulder, glancing at the coordinates. "What'd he say?"
Chloe smirked, the map forming in front of her. "Looks like we're going to Vienna."

END OF ACT TWO
I am so fricking excited to write Civil War, you know? Because the Avengers (excluding Natasha, Steve, and Sam ofc) don't know about Chloe, so it's gonna be interesting how they react to her.
I dedicate this chapter to Desmond Miles who deserved better, Ubisoft.
Also, we? hit? 2k? reads? I am still in shock??? thank you all so much!
Hope you enjoyed part two!
