Elliot's brother folded his arms.

"Why are you interested in them?" he asked.

"I'll... like to know if they may help."

"I already told you," Elliot said. "Fixing an organ is difficult for magic to do."

"Fixing an organ?" Ryan asked.

"Why not consult a doctor?" Isabelle asked.

I looked down.

"That won't work. The damage was done by magic."

"That's..." Ryan said, glancing at the empty street.

"What kind of magic?" Thalia asked. "Like some sort of curse? Magic can undo those."

I shook my head. "Not exactly."

"Not..." Her eyes grew large. "Oh... you don't mean..."

"The person used it on oneself?" Jason asked.

I nodded solemnly. "Correct."

I came to this school with the purpose of healing it...

"Well. Our clan's magic won't help you," our teacher said, glancing at Elliot.

"Yeah. Even my sister can't, and she has the strongest spiritual power in the entire family."

"Isn't she younger than you? She's bound to grow over time. Do you think... that in a few years, she might be strong enough to heal even damaged organs."

"Yeah. Our goddess has that power," Mr. Tanaka responded.
