"Olivia!" Elliot yelled.

I opened my eyes and saw Alex and him attack the two.

Ryan struck Alex on the chest with a ghostly sphere, fling him to the gym floor.

Elliot glanced back at his friend.

His eyes narrowed.

Fists formed.

The golden aura turned red.

"You two will pay for that!"

He punched Thalia.

I elbowed Ryan, causing him to let go of me.

I ran over to the unconscious Alexander.

Blood was rolling down his forehead.

I closed my eyes.

Energy slowly gathered in my hands.

"Reliquum Noctum," I chanted.

A calming wave of shadows emitted from my hands.

I touched Alex's head slowly and softly, hoping to avoid hurt him further.

"Sorry, this is all my fault."

"It's not!" Elliot yelled.

He was blocking both mages with ease.

His kicks were shattering the diamond-hard gym floor,

The aura around him intensifying as he didn't let down.

Elliot grabbed Ryan by the neck.

A sadistic smile spread across his face.

"No one hurts Alex."

Ryan coughed as Elliot's grip tightened.

"Hey!" I yelled.

Elliot didn't turn to look at me.

"You're going too far! Stop!"

My teammate didn't heed my words at all.

"Don't," Ryan said in a weak voice. 

Blood was dripping down his neck.

"Alex is fine!" I yelled. 

Letting go of Alex, I ran up to Elliot and slapped him.

"I said, let go."
