A Scientist's Vision
Salutations, @VicieJones2 ! Thank you for your contribution to the art of science!
Our asker said: Hey Donnie? Ummm did u ever have glasses bc I've heard you use to wear them but Leo (ofc) and your bros you to pick on you so that's why you stopped wearing them and Leo said it made it easier to bully you and he's still looking for them to this day is it true?
I wouldn't call it bullying perse, but they did tend to pick on me a lot because of the glasses, so I stopped wearing them after a while. After a bit of roughhousing while they teased me, they accidentally cracked my glasses, which was the last straw for me. I stopped wearing them in front of people after that, but I kept them in a locked drawer and still wear them at times. Most of the time, no one even remembers I had glasses since they only pay attention to what's going on now, but when they do remember it, they typically just ask about why I stopped wearing them. I always just say I don't need them anymore, which is mostly true since I function just fine without them. The prescription is outdated, though, and it isn't the easiest to get new ones as a mutant in New York city, so it's not as helpful to wear them as it was when I was younger.
Nardo is the one that remembers, more often than everyone else except dad, that I wore them, and he does indeed look for them. He has his suspicions about the drawer, but I always keep him away from it. If he ever does find the drawer and manage to pick the lock or open it some other way, I doubt he'll be able to do much else other than show everyone that I still have them. He wouldn't have any evidence of me still wearing them, after all. Conveniently, I don't have to tape them to my face anymore since the headphones on my goggles hold them up, but they're a little tight on my head now because of the added volume to my head given by said headphones. I've contemplated wearing contacts since it would be easy to see without anyone knowing I was wearing them, but I'm not comfortable with the idea of anything going into my eyes, so I'll have to settle with less than perfect vision most of the time.
Signing off,
Donatello Hamato
