If could pick a pet, except for a snake, it would be a basilisk.

They are related to snakes but they aren't technically snakes so I can pick one, right?

If not a snake, I would pick a ferret. I don't know why.

Maybe it's because throwing them at people and watching said people scream in agony while the ferret eats their face would be hilarious to watch.
