Solstice and Eclipse
@Sorcerersupreme0306 asked several questions regarding my My Hero Academia story, Solstice and Eclipse.
1. When or will the rest of the class find out he is an orphan?
Undecided. If I were to decide that everyone in Class A would discover (L/N) is an orphan, it would have to be because (L/N) decided to disclose that information. This is because the only other people that know are the faculty, Kendo, Yaoyorozu, and Kazahana (OC). The faculty would not tell anyone because it would be inappropriate to do so, and neither Kendo nor Yaoyorozu would betray (L/N)'s trust.
Though Kendo divulged this information to Yaoyorozu, it was done with (L/N)'s best interest at heart, and with the understanding that the two shared a unique bond. This is not the case for anyone else in Class 1A.
Additionally, it would have to have some sort of purpose within the narrative of the story. It is important that my audience know because (L/N) is the main character of the story they are reading, but as of right now I do not see it as being information anyone else needs to have. It simply does not have an effect on the story.
THE REMAINDER OF THE ANSWER TO QUESTION 1 CONTAINS MINOR SPOILERS: That being said, (L/N) will tell Eri. This will occur because Aizawa will ask (L/N) to help look after her following the events of the Shie Hassaikai arc due to the similarities the two share. (L/N) and Eri's similar traumas will create a bond between the two of them.
2. Will you reintroduce (F/N)'s grandparents?
I have considered it, but again, do not think it is relevant to the story. While some amongst you might think it interesting to see how this interaction would affect (L/N) emotionally/mentally, think about the fact that two very similar instances have already occurred. Once with Kendo and once with Kazahana. I have already established how (L/N) is affected by different people from his past, and I would argue these two individuals are infinitely more impactful than his grandparents could ever be. Partially because (L/N) was so young when his grandparents abandoned him and also because the impact Kendo and Kazahana had on him were much bigger. Kendo, who stayed, and made him believe she would stay forever, and Kazahana, who tormented him.
I think that if (L/N) were to encounter his grandparents he simply would have very little reaction. He did not injure or kill them so he feels no guilt, there was no strong emotional bond forged between them such as with Kendo, and they did not torment him like Kazahana.
Not to say their leaving him didn't have deep ramifications, I simply think it would be redundant to reintroduce them and I cannot see a purpose of doing so.
3. Will All For One become interested in his quirk?
Difficult to answer, simply because I do not know how My Hero Academia continues past Season 5. I have not read the Manga, and don't want to watch the anime until all of Season 6 is out because I want to be able to watch it all at once.
That being said, if All For One returns (DON'T RUIN ANYTHING FOR ME OR I SWEAR TO GOD I WILL ABANDON THIS STORY), I will definitely explore this. There are factors that will need to be considered, but (L/N)'s quirk is definitely one AFO would be interested in taking or exploiting should the opportunity present itself.
4. Will everyone find out what happened to his parents?
Again, I don't see why it's terribly important. Yaoyorozu, most definitely. This will be a hurdle that MUST be addressed for a relationship to develop between the two, but as for the rest of the class it's not very relevant. Perhaps a villain will reveal it in an attempt to sow discord, but as of right now the answer is no.
5. Will he become friends with anyone else in Class 1A?
Yes. Season 4 will see great character development for (L/N). While it may not see him become friends with anyone, it will definitely lay the foundation for that to eventually occur. With Yaoyorozu's help, he will start opening up to his classmates more.
We can already see some development between (L/N) and Bakugou, which, to be honest, kind of happened on accident. Since Bakugou is a good cook, and (L/N) is also a good cook, I thought it would be funny, and their "friendship" inadvertently happened as a result.
My original intention was to have Todoroki become the first person other than Yaoyorozu to befriend (L/N) due to his subdued personality, but alas, I went in the completely opposite direction.
6. Do you have a self-planned deadline for when you publish a new chapter or do you do it whenever you finish?
Whenever I finish. As I've said in the past, I simply cannot keep a routine schedule anymore. I am now in my mid twenties with a full time job, two rental properties, and in the process of opening a martial arts studio, that to say I will have a new chapter done at this time every week/other week/month or whatever time frame, simply isn't a realistic option.
Writing is and always has been a hobby. When I first started I had much fewer responsibilities and much more free time which allowed me to publish multiple chapters for multiple different stories every week. But priorities have changed, and sometimes I also just don't want to write.
Additionally, I pride myself on the quality of my work, especially amongst this wasteland of mediocre writing that is Wattpad. It is this quality that I believe draws so many people to listen to the stories I have to tell, and when I force myself to push through writer's block or exhaustion, it results in substandard material. I refuse to compromise on my craft, even if it is a hobby. If it's worth doing, and if it's worth reading, it is worth doing and writing it well, to the best of my ability.
I never want to deliver anything other than what I consider my best work. Sadly, many of my stories have been discontinued because of this. I simply have lost the love for them. I don't enjoy writing for RWBY anymore, so those books have been discontinued. I tried to remaster the Yang story, but I simply can't do it. I only tried because I didn't want to disappoint my audience who loved the story so much. But lack of time time, lack of motivation/passion, and many other factors have lead to me having to resign to the fact that I simply cannot do it all.
I will instead continue to focus my efforts on stories that I still enjoy writing. Because if I lose that, then I am sure I will abandon writing all together, and I don't want to leave you all hanging. Solstice and Eclipse will see a conclusion. Whether or not I can hold out until My Hero Academia is finished is unknown, but it will not be abandoned. I refuse to do that.
But as for my other stories, I cannot guarantee anything.
